(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Ximei Arrested
At approximately 8 p.m. on July 13, 2008, Jiangyuan District policemen from Baishang City and national security broke into Sun Ximei's home in Naerhonglinchang of Sanchazi, Songyuan District, where she was illegally arrested.
On July 16, several policemen searched Ms. Sun's home and confiscated her Dafa books and Minghui weekly article. Currently, she is being held in the Xieli Detention Center.

2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Chunhua and Ms. Jiang Zhihui Arrested
On the afternoon of July 15, 2009, Ms. Jiang Huachu and Ms. Jiang Zhihui from Xinbin were arrested by Xinbin policemen while distributing truth clarification materials. Later, their homes were searched. The policemen confiscated their Dafa books, MP3 and MP4 players, mini DVD player, and 5,000 yuan in cash. They are now in the Xinbin Town Detention Center.

3. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yuhua and Mr. Wang Guorong Arrested
At approximately 9 p.m. on July 11, 2009, Ms. Liu Yuhua and Mr. Wang Guorong were explaining the truth to a junior student. They were subsequently reported to officials by the student's parents, then arrested by Nanta policeman Wu Yongwei and three other officers. They are being held at the Chaoyang Detention Center.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dai Shurong Arrested
On July 6, 2009, Ms. Dai Shurong was arrested in her home.
5. [Heyuan City, Henan Province] Ms. Huang Yuying Arrested
On July 19, 2009, Ms. Huang Yuying was taken from her home by Heyuan Xinbao, policeman Liu Weidong, and other officials.
6. [Langfang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pan Yuelian, Ms. Leng Shengxian, and Mr. Wang Yajun Arrested
Ms. Pan Yuelian, Ms. Leng Shengxian, and Mr. Wang Yajun were arrested while inside the Yang Taxation Department. Ms. Pan and Mr. Wang's homes were subsequently searched. On July 17, the three practitioners were taken to the Langfang Detention Center.
7. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Jun Arrested by Policemen of Gulou District Huaqiao Road
During the evening of July 16, 2009, Nanjing practitioner Mr. Li Jun was arrested by policemen from the Gulou District Huaqiao Road while he was distributing truth clarification materials. He was taken to the Qilinmen Nanjing City Detention Center. Mr. Li has a ten year-old son, now on his own at home.
8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yan Jinghua Arrested
On the evening of July 15, 2009, Mr. Yan Jinghua was arrested while he was distributing truth clarification DVDs.
9. [Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Deyu Arrested Again
At approximately 10 a.m. on June 23, 2009, Mr. Liu Deyu, who lives in the Hubei Jingmen Community Center, was performing truth clarification activities north of Jinxia Road in the Jingmen District. He was reported to officials, so he left home the following day.
On July 16, 2009, Mr. Liu was arrested while he was explaining the truth. He is now in the Hubei Jingmen Huya Detention Center.

10. [Tongcheng County, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Yanhong Detained
At 9 a.m. on July 17, 2009, Ms. Li Yanhong, Mr. Zhou Wangliang, and Mr. Liu Zhengyang from Tongcheng County in Hubei Xianning City were arrested. Mr. Liu was released, but the other two practitioners are still detained.
11. [Guangdong Province] Ms. Liu Qun Arrested
On July 17, 2009, Shenzhen practitioner Ms. Liu Qun was arrested and taken to the Shenzhen Detention Center.
12. [Chongqing City] Mr. Liu Xinghui and Mr. Chen Tianming Arrested
At 1 p.m. on July 9, 2009, Mr. Liu Xinghui and Mr. Chen Tianming were arrested by Bishan policemen, including Feng Weijiu and others, while the two were standing on the street. They were both taken to the detention center.
13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Lei Xiaoling Taken to the Zhenjiaji Brainwashing Center
Ms. Lei Xiaoling lives in Dongfanghaudu in the Jiang'an District of Wuhan city. At around 9 a.m. on July 17, 2009, she was arrested by Houhu policemen and other officials from the 610 Office, then taken to the Zhenjiaji Brainwashing Center.
14. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Gou Guimei and Others Persecuted
On July 9, 2009, Ms. Gou Guimei, Ms. Ning Yuanzhen, and Ms. Liu from Gansu Tianshui distributed truth clarification materials in Zhongliang Village in the Qinzhou District, Guansu Tianshui City. The practitioners were secretly reported, then arrested by Liangxiang policemen. Subsequently, they were taken to the National Security Center. Ms. Liu had 3,000 yuan extorted from her. Ms. Gou and Ms. Ning were taken to the Lvergou Detention Center.
15. [Xining City, Qinghai Province] Ms. Li Guixiang Arrested Again
On June 21, 2009, Ms. Li Guixiang from Xining City went to Hualong Town for work. While explaining the facts about Falun Gong, she was reported to officials and subsequently arrested. She was then taken to the Hualong Detention Center.
Ms. Li, 41 years old, has been persecuted on several occasions. She was previously detained for three and a half years between 2001 to 2005. When she was in the Qinghai Women's Forced Labor Camp, she was brutally tortured. The guards used high-powered electric batons to hit her, bound her hands and feet to a bed for extended periods, and did not allow her to use the bathroom. Ms. Li went on a hunger strike to protest such persecution. She was then subjected to force-feeding.
16. [Beijing] The Persecution of a Daxing Junior High School Teacher
Mr. Cheng Jianhua lives in the Daxing District of Beijing and was a Daxing Junior High School teacher. He was taken to a forced labor camp in 2003 because he practiced Falun Gong. Then the head school administrator fired him from his teaching position.
On July 12, 2008, Mr. Cheng was arrested by Daxing 610 Office personnel and taken to the Daxing Detention Center. On August 16, 2008, he was taken to the forced labor camp for a term of two years and six months. During his transfer to the Dispatch Center, guards tried to force him into handcuffs and shackles, but he refused to cooperate. He was then taken from the vehicle and beaten by three policemen. His head was injured and he lost some teeth. His entire face was bruised. At the end of August in 2008, he was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province.
