Two Children Who Lost Their Happiness Due to the Persecution of Falun Gong

May 05, 2009 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Wang Chouying, aged 11, and Wang Chouyue, aged 10, used to have a happy family life with their loving parents. Their mother Niu Aiqing, a Falun Gong practitioner, works at the Shengli Oil Field, and their father is an honest and humble worker. Although they were not rich, they lived a happy life.

After July 20, 1999, Falun Gong practitioners have been severely persecuted, and Chouying and Chouyue have lost their peaceful life. In March 2000, their mother Niu Aiqing was arrested because she went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong. She was detained for more than two months in a small dining room at the oil field where she worked. At the time, Chouyue was less than six months old. Niu Aiqing was forced to clean the sewer and do other difficult jobs as a part of her new assignment. As a result, she had little time to take good care of her baby, which caused him to be malnourished and seriously short of calcium. Later, she had 20,000 yuan extorted from her, through illegal fines, before she was released.

In July 2000, Ms. Niu was again taken away and sent to the Xianhe Oil Drilling Factory, where she was locked up in a small room with all the windows covered up. Due to the heat in the extremely hot weather, she could hardly breathe in there. While confined in the room, she was beaten about the face, and her head was slammed against the wall many times. She was punched and kicked all over her body. She was also handcuffed to the heating pipe for seven days, and then taken to the interrogation room for two days.

Ms. Niu was subjected to sleep deprivation for a period of ten days and wasn't allowed to eat anything. This caused her to lose consciousness several times. The two young children were not able to see their mother for more than three months.

In July 2001, Ms. Niu was forced to quit her job because she was unwilling to give up the practice of Falun Gong. Since then, her family of six had to depend solely on her husband's meager income. In order to supplement the family income, Ms. Niu, accompanied by her two children, sold jelly made of green peas as a street peddler.

In the summer of 2006, the two brothers spent an unforgettably happy summer vacation. Their mother took them back to their hometown in Qinghai Province. They visited relatives and viewed the grand scenery of the Qingzan highlands. It was great fun for them, the first such vacation they had ever taken.

However, this happiness was short lived. As soon as they returned home, their mother was arrested by officers from the Bingnan Police Sub-station, and their home was ransacked. Their mother was sent to the Wang Village Forced Labor Camp, where a high wall separated the two boys from their mother. The boys missed their mother so much that they often had nightmares and cried in their sleep.

In 2007, unable to bear the torture in the forced labor camp, Ms. Niu made a successful escape. The police went looking for her, coming to her home many times while threatening and following the family. The two boys are terrified at this point of any sign of the police. They haven't seen their mother for three years and they miss her very much, not knowing where she is or when the family will be reunited.

The suffering the two boys have been through is only one story out of countless other tragic stories in China today. The persecution of Falun Gong has continued for ten years. During these ten years, how many families have been broken apart? How many children have missed the sight of their parents?
