(Clearwisdom.net) An enthusiastic audience filled the historic Costa Hall at Deakin University as Shen Yun Performing Arts appeared for the first time in Geelong, Australia.

Mr. Frank Costa, Costa Hall's namesake: "We should spread the word"

The man whom Costa Hall was actually named after, philanthropist and owner of one of Australia's largest companies Mr. Frank Costa, was in the audience to welcome Shen Yun to Geelong.

A well-known prominent figure and recipient of the Order of Australia, Mr. Costa said, "It was a wonderful privilege to be here. I've had a most enjoyable evening."

He said that there was just so much about the show he enjoyed. "First, the costumes. I've never seen such beautiful, colorful costumes. And then all the dancing was so spectacular. They are so rhythmic, so agile, so fluid. And that was beautiful.

"There was a message in each dance, and it was an uplifting message--it was one of joy, happiness, a bright future, hope--all those things rolled into one."

Mr. Costa was impressed. "This is a great experience for me. I'm overwhelmed, actually, because I didn't know what to expect. I knew it was about the culture of yesteryear and that they were trying to bring back the history and culture of China going back 5,000 years, but I didn't know it would be in such a graceful, dramatic, lively, and beautiful style. You've got to see it to really appreciate it.

"To [everyone], I tell you in all seriousness, if you get an opportunity to tell your friends to come and see this particular show, please pass the word, because everybody will appreciate the quality of this show that we're seeing tonight. And it's a shame just to keep it to ourselves. We should spread the word.

"It was a wonderful privilege to be here. I thought it was great for Geelong to have this wonderful concert come to our city. It's very, very good."

"Very high class, very professional"

In the crowd was Mr. Smith, a theatrical producer of award-winning films and musicals and owner of his own production company. One of his films has been nominated for four AFI Awards.

Mr. Smith attended the show

Mr. Smith highly commended many aspects of Shen Yun. "I think they've done a wonderful job. I think the costumes are wonderful, the music is great, and the staging and the choreography are terrific. And, of course, the dancers are wonderful. It's very, very good; very high class; very professional."

This was the first time Mr. Smith had ever seen Shen Yun. He expressed his high regard for the production. "I just think the total professionalism and the quality of the performances are wonderful."

Very important to maintain China's true culture

Former high level administrator and professor at an Australian university, Mr. Wilson was also in the audience at Costa Hall on Friday, April 3.

Now retired, Mr. Wilson traveled all the way from Melbourne to see Shen Yun. "We think this show is most enjoyable, most impressive. But, more important, I think, is maintaining the culture. With so many difficulties in China, it's wonderful that this group can do this. It's truly wonderful.

"Because of the persecution of Falun Gong. This would obviously make it difficult to retain the traditional culture," he said.

Mr. Wilson said he enjoyed the lively dances, most particularly "The Monkey King Triumphs." "I know the story about the Monkey King. It was good to see it portrayed in dance like that. I think the whole program is impressive and it's a great pleasure to be here.

I'm amazed at the technology of the background screen, which I'm interested in."
