He further explained that the theme and the content of the show presented by Shen Yun was something that society really needs. In particular, he said it was very good to include the diverse geographic and ethnic characteristics in the show.

Director of Cultural Affairs Bureau: It's the life that every one of us pursues

Tseng Huan-peng, Director of the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau, said, "I have been looking forward to seeing the show for a long time--it's the first time I've ever attended such a show. I was very impressed, because the rhythm of the entire dance performances, the lighting, and other facets of the show were bright and lively. In particular, the part touching on Chinese culture is a good reminder and provides inspiration. I believe that Shen Yun's world tour can help the audience, particularly in non-Chinese regions, gain a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture."

Mr. Tseng explained, "The entire performance created a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere, which every one of us should pursue. Peace is a universal value, and people should perpetuate this value. In particular, I was deeply impressed by the portrait of China's five thousand years of culture. It kept reminding us that we should work toward this direction. Each program carried special meaning for me. Both its professional way of presentation and the spirit conveyed really impressed me.

"The backdrop and the music are, of course, very well done, particularly the transition from animation to the actual stage performance--I have never seen such a smooth, delicate, and lifelike transition. The contents of the programs are new and wondrous, but the spirit of the performance is the same as I imagined, that is, presenting traditional Chinese culture and conveying a message of peace, which inspired me deeply."

You Mingtong, CEO of Taiwan Housing: Abandon old concepts, find new righteous thoughts

Renowned Taiwan Housing CEO You Mingtong missed the second half of the Shen Yun performance in Taipei, so he made a special trip to Hsinchu to attend the Shen Yun Spectacular with his wife.

Mr. You used to be the director of a dance association. He said of the dance techniques in the show, "They are excellent, aesthetic, oriental. It's a blend of tradition with innovation. The dance gestures were perfect, full of spirit and aesthetic."

Mr. You and his wife both agreed that Shen Yun emphasizes carrying forward the authenticity of culture. After seeing the first half of the show, Mr. You said, "Just now I heard a verse in what a tenor singer sang, 'Old concepts are all obstacles.' Although I don't know what the old concepts are, I truly want to find the answer in the Shen Yun performance to abandon old thoughts and find a 'new righteous thought.' What is the new thought? I may know it in the second half of the show. I'm waiting to see the answer in the show."

Painter: Fairytale-like power

Ms. Lu Yan-ching is Director of the Hsinchu Fine Arts Association, as well as a professor in the Arts and Design Department and Arts Labor Education Research Institute of Hsinchu University of Education. They have uplifted us to a spiritual realm, they are no longer only dancers."

Ms. Lu further explained that she had carefully observed the dancers' movements, tempo, and expressions, and recorded them using line sketches. She said, "I followed the rhythm to (draw). I perceived all the emotions and rhythm. Only those whose hearts are full of gratitude or spirituality can have such expressions. (Shen Yun performers) have reached the divine realm."

Ms. Lu used "fairytale-like imagination" to describe the costumes in the Shen Yun show. "I feel Shen Yun's artistic realm is really high. Their costumes are gorgeous, but the coordination of colors is indeed light and noble and has a fairytale-like imagination."

Ms. Lu said sincerely, "I'm really impressed, particularly by Shen Yun's realm, because I feel it is hard to rise to a certain realm.

"I'll study more culture and history in the future," Ms. Lu said the Shen Yun brought her inspiration for future creations. "We need to know where we came from, and where we are going to go. I feel I'm very grateful, and I'm really happy to have seen Shen Yun!

"What I saw is that we are too self-centered, that we should do more things for others, that's my feeling after seeing the show."

Director of Art Center: Perfect coordination of dance and music

Huang Hsiao-ling, Director of the Guangyu Art Center at Yuanpei University, used to study classical ballet dance. She expressed her admiration for the power of the Shen Yun show. "What is amazing is the incorporation of costumes, techniques, and the music. They paid great attention to detail. For example, the dance movements and the music achieved perfect coordination."

The MCs' explanations helped the audience learn more about the content of the dances. The color coordination of the costumes was very beautiful."

Impressed by the stage design and dynamic backdrops, Dr. Tseng commented that in "The Poet's Vision," the scene on the backdrops was perfectly matched with the performance on the stage. He said, "It made the audience feel like there was a group of heavenly beings vividly descending from the palace on the moon to the human world. It was a very creative idea."
