Do Not Judge People Based on Appearances, Look at Their Hearts

Some time ago, a hair salon opened and was having a promotion, so I decided to go there to have my hair permed.

I went at noon and was greeted by a cashier who had dyed, colored hair. She told me that the manager had taken all the other employees to a marketing course, and I would have to wait another 20 minutes before they would return. She grabbed a magazine and passed it to me and said, "Please wait for a little while." I took the magazine, and said, "I have not read this magazine in quite a while. I was very interested in this magazine 20 years ago." We got to talking and I told her the truth about Falun Gong and the "Three Withdrawals." She was eager to quit the Youth League and said she had read Zhuan Falun and agreed with what it said. Interestingly enough, she turned out to have a predestined relationship.

While we were chatting, the manager came back with four other hairdressers. The manager looked like he was in his 30s and had very short hair. The other hairdressers were all young men and women over twenty years old. Two of the young men had their hair in yellowish pony tails, and the others had wild hairstyles that exploded out in front of their foreheads. One of the young ladies had her hair cut short on one side and long on the other, with partially yellow dyed hair and she was wearing fake eyelashes. Seeing how they looked, I felt like I had wandered into the wrong place. I normally don't like to have any contact with young people dressed like them, but I figured, since I was there, I might as well stay.

I told the young girl about the hairstyle I'd like her to do, then she started. While she was doing my hair, I got to see many of the strong points about the character of this young hairdresser. She was very diligent, and willing to help out every other hairdresser, and when she passed things on to them, it was exactly what they wanted. She also cleaned up the floor and brought water to clients. By looking at what she did, my view of her completely changed. I noticed she had three wrist bands around her left wrist. One of them had two white skulls. During our conversation, I found out that she was not even 18 years old. Her farther is a big fan of Mahjong and her mother is obsessed with enjoying herself and doesn't care about the family. So she learned cooking from an early age, and before she even graduated from junior high school she had already started working and began to support herself. Hearing about her life experience, I felt sad. No wonder she dressed up like that. No matter whether she could be saved or not, I wanted to try, because Teacher said that every being came for the Fa.

I asked her why she was wearing a wrist band like that and if she was scared. She said it was given to her by a friend and it looked funny to her. Nowadays, people can't distinguish ugliness from beauty; they just pursue things that are extraordinary or novel. So I told her about some of the risks associated with wearing something like that and she got a little scared. The manager overheard what I was saying and began to tease her saying, "Ghosts will look for you tonight." She indeed became afraid. I think that everyone subconsciously believes in the existence of other dimensions.

After the perm was done, the young hairdresser took me to have my hair rinsed. I said to her, "Please believe me, this was solely for your benefit. It is not a good thing for you to wear that wrist band." After that, she dried my hair, and the perm was done. Then she and her manager took me to the cashier. I thought this was a great opportunity. Maybe I could save two people at once! Right away I began to clarify the truth to them. At that time, the manager gave the young hairdresser some cash and asked her to get a pack of cigarettes for him, but the young hairdresser said, "Let me finish listening to what she says, then I'll go." It looked like both the manager and the young hairdresser were interested in listening to me, so the cashier from earlier who did the "Three Withdrawals" took the money for the cigarettes instead. As I was talking, I realized the young hairdresser had taken off the wrist band with the skulls. Both of them listened to me carefully, then decided to quit their memberships from the Young Pioneers organization, and they both came to understand the wonderfulness of Dafa. The manager said to me later, "You've got to be careful." When I was clarifying the truth to them, another male hairdresser was listening to me as well. Because a customer came in, he had to turn away from us and greet the customer. All sentient beings are waiting for the truth. Before I left, I gave them a few truth-clarification brochures and "Minghui Weekly" journals. They happily accepted.

Through this experience, I changed my notions. In terms of saving people, we should not have the heart of differentiating between people. Sentient beings are all the same, no matter what kind of person she or he is on the outside. No matter what kind of changes a being has been through, they all have their Buddha nature deep inside their hearts, and they are all waiting to be saved, since they are beings that came for the Fa.
