(Clearwisdom.net) (Minghui correspondent from Hainan Island) On September 9, 2009, policemen from the National Security Group of Haikou City Police Department arrested Falun Gong practitioners Wang Juan and Huang Ande. The couple was sent to a brainwashing center and they have been detained ever since. Their relatives tried to find out where they were, but the police claimed that they did not know anything about them.
Ms. Wang Juan, between 30 and 40 years old, works for Haikou Shuguang Chemical Instrument Co., Ltd. Her home address is 2nd floor, #39-1, Wenmingzhong Road, Haikou City. Her husband Huang Ande is more than 60 years old. He retired a few years ago.
Wang Juan had a unusual disease before practicing Falun Gong. She visited many hospitals but the medical treatments were useless. Her family member stated that she was on the verge of death many times. After she started to practice Falun Gong, the disease disappeared and her health recovered. Huang Ande suffered from insomnia for more than 10 years before starting to practice Falun Gong. After cultivation, he become very healthy and his face would shine.
On September 4 or 5, 2009, the couple turned up missing. Their relatives uncovered the following facts. On September 4, Wang Juan went to work as usual. At lunch time on September 5, someone went to her company and took away her note books. Her colleague asked for the identity of the person. The person showed ID and warned that what happened could not be disclosed to anybody else. The person claimed that if Wang Juan came back with 15 days, she should be okay; if not, she must have committed a serious crime.
Their relatives did not know their whereabouts or why they were arrested. Therefore, they visited their residential committee, local police station, Meilan Police Station, and Haikou City Police Department. However, nobody admitted the arrests or knowing their whereabouts. Having no other choice, they reported the situation to the local police station.
All the facts indicated that the couple was arrested by the police. However, the police refused to admit it.
Wang Juan's relatives were so worried about them that they could not eat or sleep well. Around October 4, the local police station informed the relatives that they could visit the couple at the hotel of Hainan State Farms. When the police were asked why they arrested the couple, they claimed that they did not arrest them. They just asked the couple to "study" something.
The 610 Office of Haikou City has operated a brainwashing center in the hotel of Hainan State Farms for two years. The brainwashing center is on the 1st floor. Monitoring cameras have been installed at the main entrance of the corridor. The steel door is always locked and guarded by security at the end of the corridor. The guards of the brainwashing center use all kinds of methods to torture determined Falun Gong practitioners, including harassment, cursing, humiliation, beating-up, hanging-up, deprivation of sleep, and forcing practitioners to step on Master's pictures.
Our current understanding is that the National Security Group of Haikou City arrested the couple.
