(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 36 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 10 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 68 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Li County, Hebei Province] More than Ten Practitioners Arrested
Between 7:00 p.m and 8:00 p.m. on September 23, 2009, the Li County Public Security Department arrested more than 10 practitioners including Mr. Zhao Xiaochang and Ms. Zhao Limei. They are being held at the Li County Detention Center.

2. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wu Bo's Life in Great Danger
Mr. Wu Bo has been on hunger strike since March 2009 to protest the persecution in Dalian Prison. As a result, his life is in great danger. The Dalian Prison has agreed to release him, but the Liaoning Province Bureau of Justice and the 610 Office have refused to release him. Mr. Wu's family are deeply concerned.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Police Conduct Large Scale Arrests and Searches of Practitioners' Homes
The Changchun City police force recently launched another round of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. On September 22, 2009, several practitioners' homes were searched. Ms. Li Xiuqin was arrested in her home, which is located at the living quarters of the Erdao District Gear Factory, and her place was searched. The police also searched the home of another practitioner who lives in the Changhaijiayuan Subdivision on Guangfu Road while no one was home. The police were monitoring an elderly female practitioner who lives on Kaixuan Road, and she was later arrested.
4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yugui Arrested
Ms. Wang Yugui, in her sixties, was recently arrested by officers from the Lianhua Police Station. According to sources, she is being held at the Huanxiling Brainwashing Center.

6. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yueying Arrested
On the afternoon of September 21, 2009, Ms. Li Yueying was arrested. She is being held at the Shuangyashan City Detention Center.

7. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province} Mr. Yu Hongtao, Mr. Ye Liangjun and Mr. Guan Suming Arrested in Beijing
On September 5, 2009, Mr. Yu Hongtao, Mr. Ye Liangjun and Mr. Guan Suming from Jinshantun District, Yichun City, were arrested near Fangzhuang Bridge in Fengtai District, Beijing. The police confiscated their laptops, cash and other personal items. They are being held at the Fengtai Detention Center.
8. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Jinfeng and Mr. Huo Changwang Taken to Brainwashing Center
On September 10, 2009, Ms. Zhang Jinfeng was arrested at work and taken to the brainwashing center organized by the Harbin Railway System. Mr. Huo Changwang, a worker at the personnel office of the Harbin Railway Bureau, was taken to the same brainwashing center on the same day.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jiang Yufang Arrested
At approximately 4:00 p.m. on September 22, 2009, Mr. Jiang Yufang was arrested near the garden in the Changchun Locomotive Factory. Later that day, officers also searched the home of an elderly female practitioner, who is in her eighties.
10. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Additional Information on Ms. Fu Jinghua's Arrest
On July 29, 2009, Duan Weijun, director of the Bajia Farm Police Station in Jianping County, along with several other officers broke into Ms. Fu Jinghua's home and arrested her. Ms. Fu's husband, Mr. Yin Guozhi, managed to escape. Ms. Fu is being held at the Chaoyang City Detention Center. Her child and relatives went to the detention center twice to see her, but they were turned away both times.
Mr. Yin was forced to leave home. He has been placed on the wanted list by the Chaoyang City police.
11. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Guoli and Ms. Liu Suyan Arrested
on the afternoon of September 22, 2009, Mr. Liu Guoli and his wife Ms. Liu Suyan were arrested by local police while they were talking to people about Falun Gong in the Fengnan Region. They were taken to the Fengnan Detention Center, and their home was searched.

13. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Cheng and Two Other Practitioners Arrested
On September 21, 2009, Mr. Liu Cheng and two other practitioners were arrested by agents from the Yiling District 610 Office. Their whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Licui Receives Heavy Sentence
The Kaijiang County Court tried Ms. Wu Licui, Ms. Liu Mingying, Mr. Li Bending, and Ms. Wang Lanying on August 17, 2009. At 6:00 p.m. on September 21, 2009, the court sentenced Ms. Wu to a ten-year term, Ms. Liu to a six-year term, Mr. Li to a five-year term and Ms. Wang to a four-year term.

15. [Holingol, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zhang Xiuqing Arrested
On the afternoon of September 21, 2009, Ms. Zhang Xiuying of Holingol City was arrested at home. The police also confiscated her computer and printer. Ms. Zhang was sentenced to criminal detention and is being held at the Holingol City Detention Center.
16. [Chongqing City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Taiping Sent to Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Liu Taiping, a resident of Anju Town, Liang County, Chongqing City, was arrested on August 8, 2009, for the fourth time. One week later, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor and is being held at the Shimahe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing City.
17. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Shuzhi Taken to Brainwashing Center
On September 18, 2009, He Jie from Zhugen Town, along with seven or eight officers from the local public security department and police station, went to Ms. Wang Shuzhi's home and took her to the Leshan Brainwashing Center. He Jie had gone to Ms. Wang's home on September 16, 2009, to harass her, and confiscated two Falun Gong books and two copies of the Minghui Weekly.
In 2008, He Jie led several others to arrest Ms. Wang Shuzhi and Ms. Li Zhonghua, who were later sentenced to two-year terms by the Wutongqiao District Court.

On September 22, 2009, Ms. Li Shuqing, an employee of the Xinhua Life Insurance Corporation in Nanbu County, was arrested by the County 610 Office. Later, officers came in four police cars and searched Ms. Li's home. They took away her computer, printer and other personal items. Ms. Li was taken to the county Domestic Security Division.

22. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhao Yingzhe and Ms. Zhang Minghai Arrested
Ms. Zhao Yingzhe, 73, was reported while she was talking to people about Falun Gong. The police followed her home and forced their way into her place. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and materials. On September 8, 2009, approximately 10 officers from the Guangwumen Police Station broke into Ms. Zhao's home and arrested her. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Between September 15 and 16, 2009, Ms. Zhang Minghai, in her sixties, was arrested at home by Lanzhou police. Her whereabouts are unknown.
23. [Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Peng Cuilian Detained at the Fourth Division of Guangzhou Women's Prison
24. [Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yinxiang Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Li Yinxiang, in her sixties, went out on the afternoon of September 21, 2009, and never came home. Her family looked for her everywhere and found out later that she had been taken to the Shengcai Brainwashing Center. This is the third time that Ms. Li has been arrested.
25. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Dexiang Faces Illegal Sentencing
Ms. Sun Dexiang, in her fifties, was arrested at home on July 25, 2009. The police also confiscated her computer, her salary direct-deposit card, and other personal items. On September 16, 2009, Ms. Sun was secretly sent to the Yichun Detention Center. She is now facing illegal sentencing.
26. [Longchang County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Ye Jian Taken to Neijiang Brainwashing Center on August 25, 2009 by State Security Agents
27. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Jin Gangzhu and Others Arrested
Mr. Jin Gangzhu, Mr. Jin Tingkui, Ms. Jin Fuying and Mr. Lu Donghui are all related and were recently arrested in Wuhu City, Anhui Province by the local Public Security Bureau. Their whereabouts are unknown.
28. [Dangshan County, Anhui Province] Mr. Zheng Weiyuan Arrested in Shanghai
Mr. Zheng Weiyuan from Dangshan County works as a migrant worker in Shanghai. He was arrested by local plainclothes officers. On September 17, 2009, he was taken to the Dangshan County Detention Center by the Dangshan County Public Security Bureau.

30. [Chongqing City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Zhiming Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
On August 19, 2009, Mr. Liu Zhiming from Changshou District, Chongqing City was arrested while he was talking to people about Falun Gong in Gelan Town, Changshou District. He was recently sentenced to one year of forced labor in the Chongqing Forced Labor Camp.
31. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Two Teachers at Shiyan Vocational School Arrested
At approximately 2:00 a.m. on August 20, 2009, Mr. Li and his wife Ms. Wang, who are both teachers at Shiyan Vocational School, were arrested by officers from the Maojian Public Security Branch and the Wudang Road Police Station. Their whereabouts are unknown.
32. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Yaping Arrested
At approximately 4:00 p.m. on September 18, 2009, more than ten officers from the Shanhaiguan Public Security Department and the Xi Street Police Station broke into Ms. Li Yaping's home and searched it. The officers confiscated her computer and many other personal items. They also went to Ms. Li's brother's home and searched it. Afterward, the officers took Ms. Li to the Xi Street Police Station. She is being held at the Shanhaiguan Detention Center. Her 80-year-old mother and her daughter, who is attending high school, were left at home alone.

On September 22, 2009, Ms. Liu Yaxian was arrested at work by officers from the Hongguang Police Station in Tumen City. She is being held at a brainwashing center located in a high school in Tumen City. Her daughter is left home alone without care.
35. [Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Liu Wang Reported
At approximately 3:00 p.m. on September 20, 2009, Mr. Liu Wang was reported while he was talking to people about Falun Gong in front of the Pingxiang Middle School. At approximately 7:00 p.m. on September 22, 2009, he was harassed and threatened by officials from the Comprehensive Management Office and police officers from Luojiatang Community.

36. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
At 8:30 p.m. on September 20, 2009, five practitioners from Wuli Village, Longping Town, Wuxue City, Ms. Liu Yunxiang, Ms. Wu Yurong, Ms. Guo Haiyun, Ms. Hu Meizhen, and Ms. Feng Yue'e, were arrested by officers led by Ku Qun, director of the Longping Police Station, as well as officers from the Wuxue City 610 Office, while they were studying Falun Gong books together. The police took away all of their Falun Gong books and materials.

37. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Zheng Shouyi and Several Other Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center
There is a brainwashing center located on the first floor of the Fuxing Hotel in Jianxi District, Luoyang City. Seven practitioners have been persecuted there, five of which include Mr. Zheng Shouyi, Ms. Wang Qiaofang, Ms. Zhang Xuezhen, Mr. Duan Dazhong and Ms. Feng Lianhua.
38. [Ningde City, Fujian Province] Ms. Wu Huibin Arrested
At approximately 6:00 p.m. on September 22, 2009, Ms. Wu Huibin, who is in her mid-forties, was arrested at home by officers from the local Public Security Bureau. The officers also ransacked her home.

They ran a booth selling computers and consumables at the Shiji Computer City. Mr. Jiang, a teacher at the Dongfeng Mining Middle School, and two other practitioners were arrested at the same time.
