High School Student Persecuted to the Point of Mental Collapse for Practicing Falun Gong

October 23, 2009 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Wang Jinghua, born in 1987, is from Pengbei Village, Dingsiqiao Town, Xianning City, Hubei Province. While he was studying at Dingsi Middle School, Dingsiqiao Town and Xianning City High School, he clarified the truth about Falun Gong to his classmates, and was thus scrutinized and pressured by the school administrators. He was harassed and threatened many times and later forced to quit the school by the Xian'an District 610 Office in Xianning City, specifically the Political and Legal Committee and the Public Security Bureau of Xianning City, and schools. He was eventually driven to mental collapse in November 2006.

From elementary school to high school, Wang Jinghua had always been outstanding, both behaviorally and academically. He displayed excellent academic skill and kindness to fellow students. Dingsi Middle School principal Huang once said, "During the school's Friday thorough cleanup, all the other students went home, but he was the only person who stayed to finish sweeping the floors." But Wang Jinghua's kindness was not appreciated by his teachers. Instead, he was treated badly for practicing Falun Gong and following the principles of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance.

Wang Jinhua's test scores had dropped because of the persecution, and his teachers used this as an excuse to further pressure him to stop practicing. They also locked him in an empty room for a day. However, Wang Jinghua did very well on the entrance exam to Xianning High School and was admitted to the Xianning High School in early 2004. But in his two years of study at Xianning High School, his teachers continually pressured him to quit practicing Falun Gong. Principal Zhu and other top school leaders also pressured his parents many times, causing them to often criticize him.

Wang's class teacher, Wang Shaohua, helped the staff from the 610 Office and police from the public security bureau to search his desk and his luggage. They also detained him at the public security bureau for a day and forced his parents to sign a guarantee statement. One parent was then ordered to stay at school to accompany him, creating a lot of financial stress on his family. Students avoided him, too. In the end, the school requested that he leave the school. Due to the appeals of his parents, the school agreed to only suspend him for a year at first, but then the administration refused to re-enroll him the following year.

The continuous pressure from school, Public Security Bureau, and the 610 Office, as well as the pressure from his parents, created tremendous turmoil for Wang Jinghua. His academic performance kept deteriorating, and the pressure from all directions eventually drove him to suffer a mental collapse.
