(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities and 8 provinces. In this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhao Haiping in Serious Condition
Mr. Zhao Haiping, an employee of the Chengdu Computer Company, was arrested on the evening of July 21, 2009. By mid-August, he had developed tuberculosis as a result of the torture that he suffered while he was interrogated by agents from the 610 Office. He has been hospitalized and his condition is unstable.
2. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Shoulan Held for One Month in Detention Center
3. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Ying Imprisoned at Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Xu Ying, an employee of the Fusong Count Quanyang Forestry Bureau, was arrested on September 15, 2009. On the morning of September 30, 2009, she was released from the Fusong County Detention Center. Before 2:00 p.m. the same day, officers from the Dongfeng Police Station in Quanyang Town, Fusong County, arrested her and took her to the Fusong County Detention Center. The detention center administrators refused to admit her. She was then taken to the Baishan Detention Center, but they, too, refused to admit her. Without any legal proceedings, Ms. Xu was imprisoned in the Haizuizi Forced Labor Camp.
4. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Li Detained
It has been confirmed that Ms. Sun Li is being held in the Yingkou City Detention Center. Ms. Sun is the wife of Mr. Bi Shijun. Their home was illegally searched by officers from Bayuquan District Public Security Bureau on September 23, 2009. The couple lives in the Xiongyuecheng area of the Bayuquan District, Yingkou City.
5. [Nongan County, Jilun Province] Mr. Wang Jun Persecuted
Officers from the Nongan County Public Security Bureau and their deputy director, Li (first name unknown), broke into Mr. Wang Jun's home after 10:00 p.m. on April 10, 2009. They arrested him, his wife, and their seven-year-old granddaughter and seized a notebook computer, a printer, a DVD player, and other property.
Tang Ke, director of the Nongan County Public Security Bureau, ordered deputy director Li and other officers to torture Mr. Wang for 24 hours. The tortures used included: "riding an airplane," sitting on a tiger bench, suffocation with cigarette smoke, having cold water poured over him, having his toes smashed with hard shoes, and having someone ride on his neck. Mr. Wang lost consciousness during the torture. A front tooth was also knocked out.
Early on the morning of April 11, 2009, officers from the Nongan County Public Security Bureau and local police stations arrested about twenty practitioners in Sangang Township, Shaoguo Town, Helong Town, and Kai'an Town. The following practitioners were arrested: Ms. Wang Mingyu, Ms. Wen Defang, Ms. Lu Ziwei, Mr. Duan Lijie, and Mr. Duan Shuyou. All of the practitioners except Mr. Duan Shuyou are now in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

6. [Beijing] Mr. Ming Shaolin Is Missing
Mr. Ming Shaolin, a Sichuan Province native who works in Beijing, was declared missing after he went out to distribute Falun Dafa fliers on July 22, 2009.
7. [Jiansanjiang Agricultural Reclamation Sub-bureau, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hao Chunying and Mr. Hou Guozhong Arrested
Ms. Hoa Chunying and Mr. Hou Guozhong both work at the Qindeli Farm in the Jiansanjing Agricultural Reclamation Sub-bureau. They were arrested around the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2009. Their home was also searched.
8. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Mr. Meng Xianyong Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor and Taken to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Late September
9. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Geng Yunjiao Arrested
On September 11, 2009, Ms. Geng Yunjiao and her husband were picking up their daughter at the Kaifeng Train Station when all three were arrested and taken to the Chengxi Police Station by officers from the Kaifeng Police Department. The officers accompanied Ms. Geng's husband to their home, and proceeded to searched it. After the search, the officers released him and their daughter. Ms. Geng has taken to the Weishi County Detention Center.

10. [Longchang County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Ye Jianguo Arrested
Mr. Ye Jianguo, 54, a laid-off worker, is currently employed at a household insurance company. Early on the morning of August 25, 2009, officers from the Longchang County Public Security Bureau and staff members from the Dayanggou Street Community Committee broke into and ransacked Mr. Ye Jianguo's home. They arrested and detained him at the Neijiang City Brainwashing Center. He is still in the brainwashing center. Mr. Ye's wife, who is not a practitioner, was arrested at the same time, but was later released.
11. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Mo Yonglin Arrested
Mr. Mo Yonglin, a native of Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, has been working as a law professional for many years in Shenzhen City. In the evening on September 21, 2009, officers from the local police station arrested Mr. Mo and searched his dorm.
12. [Pujiang County, Sichuan Province] Practitioners including Ms. Shuang Yuxiang Arrested
Ms. Shuang Yuxiang and Ms. Zhou Xiuli live in the Ninth Brigade, Wuxing Town, Pujiang County. In September 2009, about 20 officers from Pujiang County searched their homes and destroyed photos of the founder of Falun Gong. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and fliers, several dozen VCDs, along with 15,000 yuan in cash that belonged to Ms. Shang's family. Ms. Zhou left home to avoid further harassment.
On September 12, 2009, Ms. Shuang was arrested. The same day officers also arrested Ms. Yang Guifeng, who is around 60, and searched her home. They destroyed photos of the founder of Falun Gong and seized Falun Dafa books and fliers along with several dozen VCDs. Ms. Shuang and Ms. Yang have been detained at the Pujiang County Detention Center.
On September 16, 2009, officers went to Jinshi Village, Shouan Town, and searched the homes of Ms. Zhou Yufeng, Ms. Yu Qiuyu, and Ms. Wang Qiuru, who is 64 years old. From Ms. Wang's home, they seized Falun Dafa reading materials, as well as a computer, a printer, a video player, and computer consumables. Ms. Wang was arrested and detained at the Pujiang County Detention Center. The homes of Ms. Wang's three sons were also searched. Some practitioners have been under around-the-clock surveillance. Ms. Shuang, Ms. Yang, and Ms. Wang were taken to the Xinjin County Brainwashing Center two weeks later.
13. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wei Xiping and Ms. Zhou Jiezhi Arrested
Ms. Wei Xiping, who is in her forties, lives in the Naxi District of Luzhou City. She was arrested on September 28, 2009, at the Yangguang Merchandise Mart. She has been imprisoned at the Anfuqiao Detention Center in Luzhou City.
Ms. Zhou Jiezhi, who is around 60 years old, lives in the Naxi District of Luzhou City. She was arrested on October 1, 2009, on Shangba Boulevard, and has been imprisoned at the Yuhuangguan Detention Center in Luzhou City.
14. [Chongqing] Additional Information on the Persecution of Ms. Deng Liqun and Ms. Zhou Jilian
Ms. Deng Liqun and Ms. Zhou Jilian, practitioners in Sanjiang Town, Qijiang County, Chongqing, were sentenced to three years in prison by the Qijiang County Court. Their families have appealed to the Fifth Middle Court of Chongqing.
15. [Yutian County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Zhemei Arrested
Ms. Li Zhemei of the Nuanquan area of Yutain County was arrested several days ago. Her whereabouts are unknown.
