My name is Wang Yajun. I was arrested at home on May 16, 2007, by police from the National Security Department for attending a Falun Gong experience sharing conference. I was later illegally detained in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province, for 18 months.
During the 2008 New Year holiday, I was tortured and closely monitored by drug addict inmates, who had been instigated by the guards, just because I had asked the authorities to provide a legitimate environment for us to practice Falun Gong. On June 17, 2008, I went on a hunger strike. I was then subjected to more persecution.
Under the instigation of the police, drug addict inmates tied me to an iron bed. They handcuffed my hands and legs. Four vicious addicts hit me in the genital area. They also used a pair of slippers to hit my face, and they pulled my hair. After kicking and punching me with their fists, they started to force-feed me. My lower back was injured because of the torture. It bled and festered and developed a hole as large as a fist.
Eleven days later, after I was released from the bed, I totally lost the ability to take care of myself. My legs were numb. Several instructors in the labor camp even said, "When he came here, he was in good shape. Look at him now. He's become crippled."
Although I am home now, I still can't take care of myself. It is difficult for me to walk even with a cane.
I urgently call on kind people to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp.
