One Thought Distinguishes a Human Being from a God

September 21, 2008 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) The difference in one thought can mean the difference between a human and a god. Recently we have been sharing a great deal about this. I would like to share some of my experiences. Teacher has been teaching the Fa for a long time now, and the persecution has gone on for quite a while as well. We have endured so many tribulations, been through so many tests, and learned so many lessons. Our thoughts should truly be like those of a god. No matter what the issue is, whether it is large or small, we should use divine thoughts to deal with it. The difference between a human thought and a divine thought can make all the difference. Here are two experiences I would like to share.

Since 2004, every August through September a yellow fluid would leak from my ears, very much like the symptoms of tympanitis, an inflammation of the inner ear. When this happened, I would increase the time I spent sending righteous thoughts, studying the Fa, and looking inwards. Slowly, over the course of a month, the problem would subside. The following year, the same thing would happen. It went on like this for three years. I regarded it as a hereditary disease in my family; my mother and elder sister also have the same problem. I felt that if I believed in Teacher and Dafa, I wouldn't need any medicine or injections and I would feel better in no time.

When the autumn of 2007 approached, one day I suddenly realized I was "waiting" for the yellow fluid to flow out of my ears. I realized, "A practitioner like me really is an embarrassment to Teacher. How can I call myself a practitioner? My mother and elder sister have this disease, so I have to have it, too? My mother and sister are regular people, and I am a practitioner. Genuine Falun Dafa practitioners are people cultivating godhood! How can we have everyday people's hereditary diseases?" At that moment I suddenly felt a wall collapse inside me. Since then my ears have been fine.

Before I became a practitioner, I was quite weak and had bad dysmenorrea. Every month, I was in great discomfort the week before my period. I had pains in my waist and back, and my lower abdomen felt swollen. My period also lasted for six to seven days. I felt dizzy and worn out. In order to alleviate the pain, I would drink lots of ginger water with brown sugar. After I started practicing Falun Dafa, the situation greatly improved, but it was still there. When I was uncomfortable, I did not want to study the Fa or practice the exercises. I only wanted to sleep.

So when I enlightened to the problem with my attitude towards my ears, I also thought about this problem. I had been suffering from it for 20 years, so I had developed the notion that that was just the way things were. Was this thought correct? Genuine practitioners won't have everyday people's sicknesses. Why should I keep it? What god is like this? Which of them easily gets a backache? Since I enlightened to it, I have to put it into action. When I had my period that month, I didn't drink the ginger water. I thought, "I am a god, I do not admit those symptoms." I kept studying the Fa and practicing the exercises as usual. Although my waist still seemed to be "sore," and my back seemed to be "heavy," I studied the Fa and meditated anyway. Even though in those several days I could not enter into tranquility well during the exercises, I finally overcame it. The next month, my condition had completely changed! Basically, I passed it easily. Moreover, my period was over in four or five days.

I am a veteran practitioner of over ten years, so when I think about how long it took me to enlighten to such a basic thing, I feel really ashamed. However, I felt it was important write it out to provide a reference for fellow practitioners.
