(Clearwisdom.net) On May 2, 2008, Divine Performing Arts presented its final performance of the Chinese Spectacular at the Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary, Alberta. The audience gave a standing ovation and the performers and orchestra answered several curtain calls.

Dancer: Chinese dance is graceful, charming

Dancer Amarna (stage name) attended the Chinese Spectacular and praised the show highly. Amarna runs a dance company called "Daughters of Nero River." They perform at local festivals and celebrations.

Amarna said that she liked all the programs, "For me, it is hard to single out which one was the best. The gan dance, drum dances, 'Nymphs of the Sea,' 'Mongolian Bowl Dance'... every performance was great."

"The choreography, movements, and postures blended so well that the dancers looked like they were floating in the clouds."

Amarna spoke highly of the performance "Nymphs of the Sea." "It was mesmerizing. They used fans to represent the ripples of the sea." She said she wanted to come to see the Spectacular again next year.

Ballerina and Musician: The performance is professional, very moving

Dancer and musician Kirstin Jakobson said, "It was a wonderful performance, an absolutely wonderful performance. I'm very happy I came. I very much liked the dancing. I'm a dancer myself. The whole performance was not only very professional, it was very moving."

Jakobson added, "Chinese classical dance is a beautiful dance form, very traditional, and it incorporates historical elements. Different movements, different historical periods, different story venues, and different rhythms. Chinese classical dance can be called Eastern Ballet, with precise movements and incorporation with the music. It also contains some gymnastic movements."

"It's inspiring, with spiritual meaning, very, very peaceful and thought-provoking." She also sang the praises of the show's singers. "I don't know the name of the instrument, but it was the woman who played the [Erhu], and I've never heard tones so pure and so beautiful. The tenor, the [baritone] and the soprano singers were excellent as well. I also loved the costumes."

Petroleum Engineer: I never saw a show of this high caliber in China

Mr. Zhu is a petroleum engineer from mainland China. He attended the Chinese Spectacular and commented, "I've never seen a show of this high caliber. I enjoyed the music the most. I particularly appreciated Mr. Chen Rutang's conducting. The entire orchestra's accompaniment, precise coordination of the music and dancers, as well as the entire stage, background, and presenters--everyone executed their movements perfectly."

Present true values

Friend Sophia was very grateful to Mr. Zhu for inviting her to see the Spectacular. She said that the performance presented the true values of humanity. Sophia said, "What is the most emotional and valuable of the performance is, particularly, when the singers sang about morality, messages from Divine beings. All of these are truly valuable things in our world."
