(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 48 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 40 practitioners were subjected to brutal treatment during their detention and at least 73 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Tianjin City] Ms. Shi Yuping Detained in Wuqing Detention Center and Facing a Prison Sentence
Ms. Shi Yuping, 62 years old, was detained in the Wuqing Detention Center in Tianjin City. Her health has been deteriorating since her "illegal detention." The Wuqing District Court plans to put Ms. Shi on trial and sentence her to prison.
2. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Mr. Sang Jinshui Arrested by Police
Mr. Sang Jinshui is a retired teacher in his 60s from Henan Province University of Engineering and Technology. On the evening of March 6, 2008, he was followed while distributing truth-clarification materials and arrested around 8:00 p.m. Mr. Sang is currently detained in the Jiaozuo City Detention Center.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Additional Information about Mr. Li Wei's Detention
Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Wei is currently detained at the Ziyoudalu Street Police Station. He is handcuffed on a chair 24 hours a day and has been deprived of sleep for eight full days. This abuse has caused his health to deteriorate and his situation is serious.

4. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Yumei and Ms. Hou Xiufang Sentenced to Forced Labor
On February 27, 2008, Ms. Hou Yumei and Ms. Hou Xiufang, from Changfu Township, Liaolan Town in Pingdu City, distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in Liaolan Town. Someone reported them to the local authorities, who arrested them on their way home. Ms. Hou Yumei's TV, VCR/CD player, and materials for clarifying the truth were taken. Currently, the practitioners have been sent to Jinan City for forced labor.
5. [Hunan Province] Ms. Sun Pinghua from Yueyang City Nitrogen Fertilizer Factory Was Arrested at Work the Morning of March 18th by the 610 Office and National Security Team
6. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Luo Changming and Others Arrested
Mr. Luo Changming delivered the "Minghui Weekly" to practitioner Ms. Ding Shirong's home some time after 4:00 p.m. on March 7, 2008. Mr. Luo, Ms. Ding, and her husband, Mr. Xiang Zhaoxian, were arrested and their home ransacked. All three practitioners were detained first at the Da County Second Detention Center. Around 4 o'clock on the afternoon of March 11, they were transferred to Xuanhan County, where they are still detained.
Over 20 policemen ransacked Ms. Wang Guangqun's home on March 8. Their son's personal computer was confiscated along with all Falun Gong books, copies of the Minghui Weekly, and other materials.

7. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ci Hui and Ms. Xiao He Arrested
On March 16, 2008, Ms. Ci Hui and Ms. Xiao He were arrested and detained by the local police on March 16,2008, while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials at Lianhuashan Park in Shenzhen City.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shao Zhenkun Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Shao Zhenkun worked as part of the cleaning staff at the Lingdong Street Public Bathing Pool. He was reported to the police the morning of March 16, 2008, for clarifying the truth to the customers. He was arrested by the Heshun police and his whereabouts are now unknown.
9. [Yanshi City, Henan Province] Mr. Jiao Shaopeng and Ms. Qu Chunxia Secretly Sentenced
Early in March 2008, Mr. Jiao Shaopeng and Ms. Qu Chunxia were secretly tried in the Yanshi City Court. Mr. Jiao Shaopeng was sentenced to five years in prison and Ms Qu Chunxia to three years. Mr. Jiao and Ms. Qu were were taken to the men's and women's prison respectively, where they are subjected to forced labor.
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Yanjie Arrested
Forty-three-year-old Ms. Song Yanjie was arrested around 9:00 a.m. the morning of March 5, 2008. Policemen were stationed at her residence and her home was ransacked.

11. [Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yuan Aifang and Husband Persecuted by 610 Office
In November 2007 Ms. Yuan Aifang was arrested by Chuzhou District "610 Office" personnel. She is currently being held in the city detention center. Her husband, also a practitioner, was sentenced to forced labor two years ago.
12. [Faku County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Xihua Arrested
On March 17, 2008, Ms. Yang Xihua went to the wedding of a relative in Baer Village, Dengshibao, Faku County. She distributed truth-clarifying materials and was reported to the local authorities. Ms. Yang was sent to Shenyang City after being arrested by the local police.
13. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Jianling Followed and Arrested on March 6th While Distributing Truth-Clarification Materials
14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yan Detained
On March 14, 2008, Ms. Wang Yan from Weixing Street, Changchun City, was reported to the local authorities while clarifying the truth on the bus. She was arrested and detained in the Weizigou Detention Center. Her computer and printer were confiscated from her home.
15. [Liqu County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Fangxiang Arrested by Several Local Police Officers around 1:00 p.m. on March 18, 2008
16. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Practitioners from Shiyan City were arrested between the evenings of March 9 and March 18, 2008. Ms. Zhang Yinglan (64 years old), Ms. Zhao Yanping (32 years old), Ms. Wang Xizhi (69 years old), Mr. Zhang Qingjun (59 years old), and Ms. Zhou Guiling (53 years old) were among them. Ms. Zhang Yinglan and Mr. Zhang Qingjun's homes were ransacked and personal belongings confiscated. These practitioners are being detained in the Tumen City Anshan Detention Center.
17. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Hushitai Town Police Harass Practitioners at Home
Ms. Ren Xiuqin and five other practitioners received visits from several police officers from the Hushitai Police Station from March 14 to March 18, 2008. They harassed and threatened the practitioners, ordering them not to go out during the "Two Conferences" (the People's Congress and the Conference for People's Political Consultation), for fear that they would appeal for justice for Falun Gong.
18. [Beijing] Mr. Han Zigang Arrested
Mr. Han Zigang of Kangzhuang Town in Yanqing County, Beijing, makes a living as a taxi driver. On the evening of March 14, 2008, the police found Falun Gong books in his taxi cab during a routine check. The police notified the criminal team, who arrested Mr. Han and ransacked his home. Mr. Han is currently being detained at the local detention center.
19. [Tianjin City] Elderly Practitioner from Northeast China Arrested in Tianjin City
A 62-year-old practitioner from northeast China was in Tianjin City visiting relatives. He was arrested while distributing truth-clarification materials near the Hedong District's Xiao'erlou Neighborhood in Tianjin City. The practitioner's home was ransacked.
20. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gao Yuchen Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
On March 5, 2008, personnel from the Zaozhuang Coal Mining Corporation's Anpei Center and the 610 Office arrested Mr. Gao Yuchen in Zaozhuang City. On March 12th, Mr. Gao was sentenced to three years in prison. He is currently held at the Jinan City Prison.
21. [Wuxi City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Lu Yongqin and Mr. Qian Jiarong Arrested
The Rongxiang Police Station of Wuxi City arrested Ms. Lu Yongqin and Mr. Qian Jiarong during the March 2008 "Two Conferences" period. Ms. Lu was arrested for downloading articles from the Minghui/Clearwisdom website in 2000 and was released in March 2007. Mr. Qian has been in prison several times and has had several teeth knocked out due to mistreatment during detention.

Sixty-four-year-old, Mr. Zhao Mingchen lives in Aji Village, Aji Town, Tieling County. He was arrested by the local police while clarifying the truth about Falun Gong on March 4, 2008. He is currently detained in the Tieling County Detention Center.

On March 25, 2008, the Zhongshan District Court put Ms. Wang Chunyan on trial. At 10 o'clock the same day, the court put Ms. Ding Zhenfang on trial for the second time.

24. [Liaoning Province] Jinzhou City Detention Center Persecuting Practitioners
Since February 25, 2008, several practitioners from Jinzhou City have been arrested. They are detained in the Jinzhou City First and Second Detention Centers. The practitioners have gone on hunger strikes to protest the ill treatment in detention and were force-fed.

On the afternoon of March 17, 2008, Mr. Zhang Dong from Yushu Township, Xinbin County, Fushun City, was arrested by the local police. Several policemen ransacked his home that night and arrested his mother, Ms. Guo Qingfeng. Zhang Dong and his mother are currently detained in the Xinbin County Detention Center.

On March 18, 2008, Mr. Wang Yan from Helong Town of Nong'an County was reported while clarifying the truth and was arrested and detained at the local detention center.

27. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xie Yunhuan Tortured in Jianshan Prison
Mr. Xie Yunhua, 33 years old, was arrested in March 2001 by the Beijing National Security Bureau. On August 15, 2002, he was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment by the Jixi City Jiguan District Court on the charge of "engaging in illegal activities to sabotage law enforcement." Mr. Xie is currently detained in Squadron 1 of the 10th Ward, Jianshan Prison, Mudanjiang City. He has been tortured and he is extremely weak and thin.

29. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Tan Weichang's Situation
On March 4, 2008, Mr. Tan Weichang was put on trial at the Yuexiu District Court. The court has been holding him in the Yuexiu District 2nd Detention Center awaiting final sentencing.
30. [Guyuan County, Hebei Province] Huanggainao Town Police Ransacked Wang Yulian's Home
At noon on March 13, 2008, several Huanggainao Police officers from Yuan County broke into Ms. Wang Yulian's home in Huanggainao Town and confiscated several Falun Gong books, copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, a satellite TV receiver, the TV signal receiver, and a television set.
31. [Beijing] Additional Information about Massive Arrests by Beijing Police on January 24
The Dongcheng District Police launched a massive arrest effort around 8:30 a.m. on January 24, 2008, encompassing eight inner city districts. More than 40 practitioners were arrested the first day. On February 22, several families received postcards from those detained at the Dongcheng District Detention Center. They asked for clothes and lawyer consultations. However, when the families brought the clothing, they were not allowed to see the practitioners.
Some practitioners were sentenced to forced labor. Some of the detained had their status changed to "living under surveillance a month later, but still were not allowed to go home. Instead, they were sent directly to the brainwashing center. Ms. Chen Jiaolong, Ms. Su Na, Ms. Zuo Yan, Ms. Yu Yafang, and Ms. Li were sentenced to two years of forced labor.

At around 5:00 a.m. on the morning of March 19, 2008, Ms. Meng Guihong from Puji Town, Zhangqiu City was arrested at home by the Zhangqiu City 610 Office and the Puji Town Police Station.

34. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Jing Arrested
Ms. Wang Jing, former teacher at the No. Eight Middle School of Beidahu Town in Yongji County, was sentenced to forced labor for refusing to give up her practice of Falun Gong. The school authorities terminated her employment. On March 7, 2008, the Beidahu Town government telephoned Ms. Wang Jing and told her to come get her salary that was supposed to have been paid to her during her forced labor term. Instead of receiving her back pay, Ms. Wang was arrested and her home ransacked. On the afternoon of March 7, she was taken to the Yongji County Detention Center.
35. [Zhejiang Province] Ms. Fu Baochuan and Others Sentenced
In March 2007, Ms. Yu Fuqin from Houzhai Village, Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, was arrested by the 610 Office while distributing Falun Gong informational materials.
In April 2007, the Pujiang 610 Office, the Yiwu City 610 Office, and Yiwu Police arrested Ms. Fu Baochuan, Ms. Chen Hongfang, Ms. Sun Aifang, and Ms. Shan Chahua and ransacked their homes, confiscating Falun Gong books and materials. Ms. Yu and Ms. Sun were held in the Pujiang Detention Center for six months.
On November 22, 2007, the Pujiang Court sentenced Ms. Sun Aifang to seven and a half years of imprisonment. Ms. Yu Fuqin was sentenced to seven years, Ms. Chen Hongfang seven years, Ms. Fu Baochuan three years with a five-year deferral and Ms. Shan Chahua got three years with a four-year deferral. Afterwards, Ms. Sun Aifang, Ms. Yu Fuqin, and Ms. Chen Hongfang were taken to the Jinhua City Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Fu Baochuan and Ms. Shan Chahua were followed, monitored, and deprived of personal freedom.

36. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yi Xiangang, Mr. Huang Zhengquan, and Ms. Deng Yongxiu Sentenced
On September 3, 2007, Mr. Yi Xiangang, an employee of the Ziyang City Nanfang Motor Vehicle Company, was arrested at home by agents from the 610 Office and the National Security Team. He was then taken to the Ziyang City Brainwashing Center. On March 14, 2008, the Yanjiang District Court sentenced Mr. Yi to three years of imprisonment with a five-year deferral.
On the afternoon of August 17, 2007, Ms. Deng Yongxiu from Ziyang City and Mr. Huang Zhengquan, were arrested by the 610 Office. Both practitioners worked at the Haitian Marine Service Company. On March 14, 2008, the Yanjiang District Court of Ziyang City sentenced Ms. Deng Yongxiu to seven years in prison. Mr. Huang Zhengquan got three years of imprisonment and a four-year deferral.

37. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yuan Chengli Arrested
February 27, 2008, Ms. Yuan Chengli, a former employee of the Harbin City Economy Policy Research Office, was arrested at home by Baojian Street Police Station officers. Her cell phone, video CD player, Falun Gong books, and phone book were confiscated.
38. [Beijing] Ms. Niu Guifen Arrested, in Police Hospital
On the afternoon of February 27, 2008, Ms. Niu Guifen from the Changping District of Beijing was arrested at home by the local police and taken to the Qinghe Detention Center. She was soon sentenced to four and a half years of imprisonment. When her family went to visit her at the detention center on March 3, they were told that she had been sent to the Qinghe Police Hospital because of diabetes.
39. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Mr. Ma Jinxiang's Home Ransacked
On the afternoon of March 18, 2008, practitioner Mr. Ma Jinxiang's house was ransacked and his daughter, Ms. Ma Ziwu, was detained. Mr. Ma Jinxian worked at the Eighth Coal Mine Field of Pingmei Coal Mine Corporation of Pingdingshan City.
40. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Practitioner Ms. Tang Juzhang Arrested
On the afternoon of February 23, 2008, Ms. Tang Juzhang was reported to the authorities simply because she clarified the truth to people. As a result, she was arrested. She is currently being held at the Luosigang First Detention Center in Hefei City. Ms. Tang is a doctor who lost her job due to the persecution.
41. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Several Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested
On the evening of February 29, 2008, practitioners Ms. Yang Shunying, Ms. Lu Xiqiong, Mr. Zhu Guangquan, Ms. Zhang Yaqin, and others were arrested by the police from the National Security Team of Xiangtan City and the local police station. The secret agents of the Xiangtan City National Security Team had spent more than one month closely monitoring the practitioners. They ransacked the practitioners' homes and confiscated their computers, printers, copiers, cash, Falun Dafa books, and truth-clarification materials. Mr. Zhu Guang has been released, while the others are still being held the detention center.

43. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Ms. Cui Ruifeng and Ms. Lin Shujing Arrested
On the evening of March 4, 2008, practitioners Ms. Cui Ruifeng and Ms. Lin Shujing from Huabei Oil Company in Renqiu City were arrested by the Yizhong Public Security Bureau of Huabei Oil Company at Bohai Branch while they were putting up truth-clarification posters. Wang Guijun from the Public Security Bureau ordered their family members who are police officers to stop working. The family members have been forced to try to "transform" the two practitioners.

45. [Huzhu County, Qinghai Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Yan Detained
Around January 20, 2008, practitioner Mr. Li Yan from Huzhu County was arrested by officers from the Huzhu County Pubic Security Bureau. He is currently detained at the Haidong District Detention Center. Practitioner Mr. Jin Chengyu from Huzhu County is also detained at the Haidong District Detention Center. He was detained there for almost a year before he was recently sentenced to three years of imprisonment.
46. [Shanghai City] On the Afternoon of March 18, 2008, Practitioner Ms. Lu (in Her 50s) from Pudong New District Was Arrested While Clarifying the Truth on Zhejiang Road
47. [Shanghai City] Practitioner Ms. Bi Jiangling Taken to a Brainwashing Center
Around March 7, 2008, Ms. Bi Jianling, in her 70s, was taken from her home and sent to the Shanghai Brainwashing Center. Ms. Bi lives at No. 21, 321 Nong, Room 101, Quwo Road, Pengpu Area, Zhabei Distrct, Shanghai.
Ms. Bi's husband, Mr. Ding Youmu, was sentenced to two years of forced labor in June 2001. In September 2002, although he was released, Chinese Communist Party authorities still harassed and pressured him relentlessly. As a result, he died on December 18, 2004.
48. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Ju Xiuxiang Arrested
Around noon on March 19, 2008, the police from Zhugou Town Police Station in Pingdu City ransacked Ms. Ju Xiuxiang's home in Liujia Village. The police confiscated a television, a VCD, and some truth-clarification materials. Ms. Ju was then taken to the Zhugou Police Station.
49. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Hongsen and His Daughter, Ms. Li Xiaoyang, Arrested
On March 16, 2008, business owner and practitioner Mr. Li Hongsen from Laizhou City went on a business trip to Beijing. However, his trip was cut short when he was stopped by local 610 Office agents, who falsely claimed that Mr. Li was going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. They also lied that Mr. Li could get a refund for his travel ticket.
At around 1:30 p.m. on March 17, Mr. Li and his daughter, Ms. Li Xiaoyan, went to the Laizhou 610 Office to ask for the refund. Instead of refunding Mr. Li the cost of his travel ticket, the 610 Office personnel took both father and daughter to the Laizhou City Detention Center. Their family members are not allowed to visit them. Their van is also still being held by the 610 Office.
50. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Ms. Wang Yuzhen and Ms. Zhang Yufen Arrested
On March 2, 2008, Ms. Zhang Yufeng from Dongjiazhuang Village, Fenggezhuang Town of Laiyang City was arrested by the police while she was distributing truth-clarification materials. She has since been released.
Also on March 2, Ms. Wang Yuzhen from Laizhou City was taken into custody by the police from the 610 Office. Ms. Wang is currently detained at a brainwashing center.
51. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Yantai Police Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners During CCP National People's Congress and Political Consultation Conference
On the evening of March 15, 2008, personnel from Houan Residence Committee in Yantai City, Haian Residence Committee and Yantai City Security Management Division illegally broke into practitioners' homes, arrested six practitioners, and detained them in a brainwashing center.
52. [Ji'nan City, Shandong Province] In December 2007, Practitioner Mr. Ni Jun Was Arrested While Clarifying the Truth at Shandong University; His Current Whereabouts Are Unknown

Since October 2007, six practitioners from Qianan City have been arrested and detained at Qianan Detention Center. They are: Ms. Wang Weiyue, Ms. Cui Qingru, Ms. Li Yankui, Ms. Lao Zhang, Mr. Zhao Minghua, and Mr. Li Qingsong.
54. [Hebei Province] On March 18, 2008, Qiaoxi District Public Security Sub-bureau of Zhangjiakou City Arrested Three Practitioners

On March 18, 2008, Mancheng County police in Baoding City ransacked Haixu Wholesale at Mancheng Grocery Market and arrested practitioners Ms. Wang Haixu and Ms. Liu Xiuying.
56. [Taicang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Bao Wenying Taken into Custody
On February 1, 2008, practitioner Ms. Bao Wenying from Dulou Village, Nanjiao, Taicai City was arrested by the Taicang 610 Office. Ms. Bao is still detained.
Practitioner Ms. Chen Juying has been closely monitored by officers from the Nanjiao Police Station for several days.
57. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Ms. Liu Liying and Others Arrested
On February 21, 2008, the police from Taihe County and 610 Office broke into Ms. Liu Liying's home, arrested her, and took away a computer. The Taihe County Public Security Bureau and 610 Office also arrested other practitioners. They are: Ms. Li Aiyun, Ms. Sun Yufeng, Ms. Dong Fang, Mr. Shen Xianlong, Ms. Han Fang, Ms. Tian Jingjing, Ms. Chen Xiaodong. All of them are now in a detention center and their families are not allowed to visit them.
58. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Practitioner Mr. Gao Hewu Arrested
On the afternoon of March 6, 2008, when Mr. Gao Hewu was walking down the street, policeman Zhang Feng and others from the Santa Police Station of Taihe County arrested him and took him to the Taihe County Detention Center. There, they beat Mr. Gao and stole more than 1,000 yuan from him. He was also forced to kneel on the cement ground for several hours. On the afternoon of March 11, the police took Mr. Gao home. On the morning of March 12, Mr. Gao was fixing a motorcycle at his relative's home when the police from the Taihe County Domestic Security Division arrested him again.
At around 9:00 a.m. on March 13, 2008, six policemen from the Santa Police Station went to Mr. Gao's relative's home and confiscated two televisions and an antenna.

On December 25, 2007, Ms. Fu Shaozhen was taken into custody by police from the Nanhu Police Station and detained at the First Detention Center of Qichu, where she is still currently detained. Ms. Fu's health has deteriorated due to the persecution.

In March 2008, Mr. Shi Weixian from Wuping County was arrested by the police from the Domestic Security Division. Mr. Shi is currently detained at the Wuping County Detention Center.

62. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Mr. Hu Wenhe Taken into Custody and Detained
At the end of February 2008, Mr. Hu Wenhe, in his 30s, from Xianning City was reported to the police when he was distributing truth-clarification materials at Baota Town in Xianan District. The police from Baota Police Station then arrested him and took him to the Xianan District Detention Center. He is still in the detention center and his family is not allowed to visit him.
63. [Hongjiang City, Hunan Province] Practitioner Mr. Liao Kairun Arrested
On March 16, 2008, Mr. Liao Kairun from Hongjiang City went home after being forced into homelessness for a long time to avoid being persecuted. Soon after, he was taken into custody by Yi Zhongxian from the Hongjiang 610 Office personnel and taken to Hongjiang Detention Center. He is still detained there.
64. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Practitioner Mr. Xie Wangming and Others Arrested
Around February 29, 2008, Mr. Xie Wangming and others were arrested by the local police.
Mr. Xie Wangming, in his 40s, is a former Air Force officer. After he retired in 2002, he became a patrol officer in Xiangtan City. On June 30, 2005, he was taken into custody by the police from the Xiangtan City Public Security Bureau because he clarified the truth to people. He was sentenced to one-and-a-half years in prison and was released at the end of December 2006.
65. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Mr. Tang Kezhen Detained at Yongxing Detention Center
On February 27, 2008, Mr. Tan Kezhen from Xining Village, Suining City, was reported to the police. As a result, he was arrested by the police from the Yufeng Village Domestic Security Division and Xining Village Police Station. Mr. Tan is currently detained at the Yongxing Detention Center. The police also took away his MP3 player.
66. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Additional Information on the Arrest of Practitioner Mr. Zhu Hongxin
Mr. Zhu Hongxin, 51 years old, lived at the residential area of Wuchang Vehicle Factory in Wuhan City. Around March 11, 2008, he was arrested by the police from the Domestic Security Division of the Leqing City Public Security Bureau in Zhejiang Province. He is now detained at the Leqing Detention Center.
67. [Tianjin City] Practitioner Mr. Bai Hong Arrested
On February 28, 2008, Mr. Bai Hong from Tanggu District of Tianjin was arrested from home by police from the Xiangyang Street Police Station. He is currently detained at the Zhaojiadi Detention Center in the Tanggu District in Tianjin. The police confiscated his desktop computer and a laptop.
68. [Xiangfan City, Hubei Province] Information on the Recent Persecution of Practitioners
In 2005, Mr. Zhao Guojiang was illegally sentenced to three years in prison. On March 13, 2008, officials at Shayang Prison in Hubei Province refused to release Mr. Zhao although his term was up, citing the fact that he was not yet "transformed." Instead, they sent him directly to the Wuhan City Brainwashing Center for further persecution.
On the morning of March 17, 2008, 46-year-old Ms. Li Jingping from the subsection of Electric Power Delivery Project Company of Xiangfan City Electric Power Inc. Group was arrested at work by Xiangfan 610 Office agents. She was taken to the Wuhan City Brainwashing Center.
During the evening on March 17, 2008, Ms. Hu Gaoying, a former employee of the state-owned Cotton Textile Factory of Xiangfan City, was arrested at home by the police from the Renming Road Police Station. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
On March 18, 2008, Mr. Jiang Donglin, former employee of the Feihuan Printing Company of Xiangfan City, was taken into custody by officers from the Qinghekou Police Station. He is now detained at Fancheng Detention Center.
