Sophia Ongahia, a Chinese-American originally from Beijing, along with her husband, Mario Ongahia, watched the Splendor. Sophia commented, "The dances are dazzling, and the group dances stood out the most."
"I can identify with certain aspects of the performance, such as longing for wonderful things and reverence toward a Buddha, which are characteristics of traditional Chinese culture. Although I'm an atheist, I loved the myths and legends depicted in this show."
"The Divine Performing Arts brings Chinese culture to the whole
world--it's a grand feat indeed! How come the Chinese government can't do
something like this?"
Mario Ongahia said, "The show was excellent, very excellent! Very colorful, too! The performers, the setup and costumes were all outstanding. The backdrop was amazingly beautiful and very spectacular. I loved it. The last one, Victory Drum, was exceptional."
"We have seen shows at the Lincoln Center and other places, but the one tonight was better, with more performers and a larger theater. No other theater compares to Radio City Music Hall."
