Protesting the persecution

A Falun Gong practitioner tells people about the persecution

A grand evening reception was held in Stadshus in Stockholm after the Nobel Prize Awards. More than thirteen hundreds VIPs from around the world attended the reception, including the royal family, the Nobel Prize winner, politicians and scholars from many countries.

At 5:00 p.m., Falun Gong practitioners began a peaceful appeal to call on people in leadership positions from all over the world to pay attention to the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal nine-year persecution of Falun Gong in China. They also called on people of justice to help end the persecution.

It was windy, rainy and snowy that evening. The practitioners stood quietly in the storm. Candlelight and bonfire lit up their banners reading "Falun Gong" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," as the VIPs' cars slowly passed in front of the practitioners.

Passersby took informational fliers from the Falun Gong practitioners. A young man learned about the persecution and stood with the Falun Gong practitioners for a long time. A law school student from the Netherlands took pictures of the practitioners' activities. He said, "I am doing research on human rights issues. I am paying special attention to human rights in China." He listened to the practitioners and took some fliers. Many passersby nodded at the practitioners and gave them the thumbs-up as a sign of support.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang said, "The Chinese Communist Party tramples on human rights. It has never stopped its persecution of Falun Gong, not even for one day. Their means are getting more disguised and despicable so that it can avoid international condemnation. Laws in China only exist in name. We will tell more people about the evil nature of the CCP and get more involved in stopping the human rights violations in China."

Falun Gong practitioner Helena arrived early at the activity. She said, "There are Falun Gong practitioners in every corner of the world. China is the only place where they are persecuted. I am very eager to bring the news of the persecution and the benefits of Falun Dafa to the attendees of the Nobel Prize reception. I think everyone has the responsibility to help stop the persecution."
