From Illiteracy to Editing Articles

November 04, 2008 |   By a practitioner in Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) I know a fifty-year-old practitioner. When she was young, her family was poor and she attended only two years of elementary school. When she was an adult she was inhibited by illness and unable to study. After practicing Falun Dafa, she began to listen to and read Dafa books. She learned how to write and eventually wrote many articles about validating Dafa.

In 2003, she read Master's comments on the article, "Expose the Evil Happening Locally to the Local People." She then started writing articles to expose the persecution and validate the Fa. She did not concern herself with her level of education and went ahead to do what a practitioner should. When she asked a practitioner about how to write, she was told, "It is actually quite simple. Just write what you want to say. If you don't know a word, just ask."

She started writing about how she was saved by Master. At the beginning, there were words and terms she did not know how to write. She would leave blank spaces and then consult a dictionary, or ask her husband and her kids. After she completed her first draft, upon reviewing, she found many misspelled words. She would enlist the help from her husband, her kids and fellow practitioners; she never got tired of rewriting. Like an elementary school student, it took her a long time to rewrite two pages of text.

One time she noticed a deep-seated fear in herself. She wrote an article about how she found the fear, the associated expression of this fear, and how she dealt with it. She sent the article to the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. A fellow practitioner saw the half-page article and asked her, " What is it that you are writing about?" She answered, "It is about one of my fears." "What is the value of publishing this?" the fellow practitioner asked. She answered firmly and unshakably, "While the writing is short and not beautiful, it does pinpoint the root of the fear. After I wrote it, I felt that many fearful thoughts had left me. By presenting my experience, it could be helpful to practitioners with a similar problem and hence it should be good for raising the consciousness of all practitioners as one body."

Later, Minghui/Clearwisdom published many of her articles on understanding and validating the Fa. Many more practitioners consulted with her when they wanted to write articles to validate the Fa. She was also active in assisting and encouraging practitioners with writing skills to participate in validating the Fa.

In the summer of 2008, I saw a good article about a persecution case. Based on its content I thought I knew who wrote it. Then, I noticed that the font was the fifty-year-old woman's standard font. When I saw her, I asked her about this matter and she said, " In order to protect the other practitioner, I usually copy the article to make it look like mine."

What she said had a great impact on me. From illiteracy to editing other people's writing in such a short period of time is truly remarkable. For an ordinary person this is impossible, but not for practitioners. The Master said in the "Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles,"

"That's because you are a cultivator: someone who is on a divine path and who is not controlled by the factors of ordinary people or low-level principles."

The righteous thoughts and righteous actions of Dafa disciples also validate this Fa.
