(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts touring company's world tour for 2008 Chinese New Year Spectacular will present three performances from January 7 to 9, at Nokia Theatre in the city of Grand Prairie, Texas. On the evening of January 7, the first performance drew to a successful close. The audience offered warm applause and rave reviews.
The audience of the debut show included government officials, celebrities, and people of different nationalities, and cultural backgrounds. Interviewees from the audience expressed an appreciation for the virtues of traditional Chinese culture presented in the show, such as respect for Gods, beliefs, justice, conscience, courage, wisdom and kindness. Some said that the performance was spiritually uplifting.

Ms. Bullibin Reeder, from Turkey, is a professor of molecular genetics. She said, "The music, costumes and programs were all excellent. Every city around the world should present these programs each year."
Her husband Dennis Reeder, an American, said, "The whole performance displayed 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.'" He also said, "These programs were in both Chinese and English, so we could understand everything. The three male vocalists were fantastic."
At the intermission, the reporter interviewed an older couple, Mr. Roberts, who works at the Nuclear Regulation Commission, and his wife Karen Roberts, who is a retired personnel director. The couple went to China several months ago. Mr. Roberts said, "When I walked in a park in Shanghai, I had a feeling as if I were on my way home. I was perhaps Chinese in a previous lifetime. We both had watched performances in China, but compared with tonight's performance, the programs in China put emphasis only on technique, while each program we watched tonight was also educational. It's a complete difference."
Lucy Wolpe is a self-employed American business woman. She said that she thought the celestial maidens' dance performance was very uplifting. She also inquired about which other cities the tour will reach. Upon learning that it is a world tour, she said she wanted to go to New York to watch it again.
Prior to the Chinese New Year Spectacular show, many government officials came personally to the reception for dignitaries to read proclamations and congratulatory letters. They were Grand Prairie city council member Richard Fregoe who read the city's proclamation on behalf of the mayor and city council; US Senator of Texas Kenny Marchant's assistant who read the senator's congratulatory letter; the first and only Chinese mayor in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area--Mayor of Addison Zhou Jianyuan and other officials. They commended New Tang Dynasty Television and the Divine Performing Arts touring company for bringing people pure and authentic traditional Chinese culture.
(Clearwisdom.net) On January 7, 2008, the NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular was held at Nokia Theatre, Dallas, Texas. About 100 local government officials and people from the business community attended the reception held before the show. Several government officials issued proclamations to the show and congressmen sent letters of congratulations.

At the reception, Texas State Representatives Paula Pierson and Kirk England issued a proclamation honoring the New Year Spectacular. Congresswoman Pierson welcomed all the performers and said that it was her honor to watch the show. Congressman Kirk England read the proclamation in which the representatives expressed their support for the show and commended it for introducing Chinese culture to the American people through the arts.
Ms. Li Weina, the vice director of Divine Performing Arts, expressed the company's appreciation for the proclamations. She said that the purpose of the show is to bring pure, traditional Chinese culture, unpolluted by the communist party, to a wide audience.
The Mayor of Grand Prairie, where the show is held, issued a proclamation. City Council Member Richard Fregoe read the proclamation at the reception on behalf of the mayor and city council. The proclamation commended the show for facilitating communication between West and East, as well as for providing overseas Chinese people a good opportunity to celebrate this important holiday.
Susie Miller from Congressman Kenny Marchant's local office read the congressman's letter of congratulations, in which Mr. Marchant welcomed the performers and expressed appreciation to the show for bringing pure Chinese culture to Texas.
Mr. Zhou Jianyuan, the Mayor of Addison, welcomed the performers at the reception. He said that the show is a great way to celebrate the Chinese New Year and he wished the show much success.
Mr. Mike Simpson, the Mayor of Frisco, also welcomed the performers and wished the show complete success. Mr. Simpson recommended the show to the city council members, who also attended the reception.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Jean Richards is a publishing company owner and attended the Chinese New Year Spectacular in Philadelphia on January 5 . She told the reporter that the show was excellent and applauded the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" that was presented by the show.

Ms. Richards said that the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" is universal and resonates with everyone, regardless of ethnicity, and it is what the world needs. She expressed the belief that everyone in the world affects each other, the world is in need of such ideals.
Ms. Richards said that she didn't have any idea about the show until her friend told her about it, and she also saw advertisements for it. She continued to say that when she heard that the performers were mostly based in North America, she admired them for maintaining their culture, language, and tradition. She said that those traditional Chinese values are important to the world, and that even though they are ancient, they are still quite relevant to the world of today. She said that we should appreciate the things that make us different, rather than letting them divide us.
Ms. Richards expressed her appreciation for the dance "The Power of Awareness" and the Erhu performance. She said that it was very important for young people to look at the world that's within, which was a good message that the program conveyed.

I commend New Tang Dynasty Television and Divine Performing Arts for promoting Chinese culture within the Chinese American community and our society at large. The richness and diversity of the Chinese culture, as preserved and extended in the United States, are great treasures to be shared by all of our citizens.
It is an honor to serve the Chinese American community and all Texans in the United States Senate, and I welcome the opportunity to share my New Year's message with you.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Tang Jiuli, who is in his seventies, was a doctor living in Xinglong Town, Yuechi County in Guang'an City, Sichuan Province. At around 4:00-5:00 p.m. on December 26, 2007, Yuechi County Procuratorate official Tang Huaming requested that Domestic Security agents from the County Police Department and local police arrest Mr. Tang Jiuli and two other practitioners: Mr. Chen Zhixue (in his fifties, a carpenter) and Mr. Yang Jinzhong (in his fifties, a small business owner). They ransacked the three practitioners' homes and took them into custody at the Xinglong Town Police Station for several hours. Mr. Tang Jiuli died the next day at home.
Not long ago, Tang Huaming reported Mr. Chen Zhixue while he was clarifying the truth.
Mr. Chen Zhixue and Mr. Yang Jinzhong are detained in the Yuechi Detention Center.

(Clearwisdom.net) There are currently more then 40 Falun Gong practitioners still being illegally detained in Xindian Women's Forced Labor Camp in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. Most of them are in their 50s. They are being detained in the No. 3 Division and are managed by division heads Liu Zhongmei and Lei Hongzhen. Some of the practitioners were made to do forced labor while others were locked in the monitoring room for compulsory brainwashing.
For those practitioners who were steadfast and refused to be "reformed," the No. 3 Division separated them from the rest of the practitioners and ordered criminal inmates to monitor them. These criminals, especially Feng Hongmei, Zhou Jian, and Yuan Hong, closely followed the instructions of the Division head. They set times for practitioners to go the toilet and bathe. If there was anything that they were unhappy with, they verbally abused the practitioners. The practitioners were not allowed to speak to one another. The second one practitioner spoke to another, she was beaten and berated. At night, practitioners were forbidden to sleep.
In late August, the police instigated the criminal inmates to beat the practitioners. If the practitioners were not obedient, they were locked up, handcuffed, and subjected to various tortures. They were threatened that their terms of imprisonment in the forced labor camp would be extended.
Practitioner Ms. Xin Enhao refused to be manipulated by the guards and was locked up. She was shocked with electric batons and beaten by the guards. The criminals also verbally and physically abused her. She was forbidden to sleep at night and was also dragged to the dog's den and handcuffed there for a day. She suffered inhumane torture.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhu Guoying, a Falun Gong practitioner from Beixing Farm of Heilongjiang Province, was taken from her home by local police on December 2, 2007. Accompanied by relatives, her mother went to appeal but was threatened by official personnel.
Ms. Zhu Guoying is 51 years old. She is a housewife at the Beixing Farm of Hongxinglong Agriculture and Reclamation Administrative Bureau in Heilongjiang Province. Her husband does business out of town, so she lives with her elderly parents.
Around 10 a.m. on December 2, 2007, Beixing Farm Police Department's Zhongxing Police Station head Li Hui and police officer Li Yonggang rode in two police cars with more than ten other people and abruptly broke into Ms. Zhu's home. Without showing any ID, they only claimed that someone had reported Ms. Zhu for speaking about the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong, and they said they had received orders from upper management to arrest her. In fact, this was just an excuse. The truth is that, with the year end approaching, they wanted to extort some money. (In the past, they often arrested Falun Gong practitioners for the purpose of extorting money.) In addition, the police swarmed in and ransacked the house. When Ms. Zhu's mother, in her 80s, tried to reason with them, the police simply ignored her and kept her inside the room. Then they forcibly took Ms. Zhu to the police department.
After her daughter's arrest, the elderly woman had no one to take care of her. Also, due to her poor health, she fell ill. On the sixth day after Ms. Zhu's arrest, December 8, the elderly woman heard that her daughter had gone on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. The mother became very worried, but she didn't know what to do.
Then she learned that Ms. Zhu had been transferred to the Detention Center of Hongxinglong Agriculture and Reclamation Administrative Bureau. So on December 9, the mother went to visit her daughter with other family members. She knew that her daughter had been on a hunger strike for five days, so she first went to see the director of the Civil Administration Department. However, the director refused to see her and, instead, simply directed her to Yang Cunguang of the Political and Judiciary Committee 610 Office. Yang was not in at that time, so they only met with a director, Mr. Ren. He shouted at the elderly woman, "Practicing Falun Gong is anti-communist. Your daughter will not die. However, to release her is absolutely impossible." In the presence of this irrational person, the mother became very upset and almost collapsed. The official just wanted them to leave and threatened to detain them if they did not. Furthermore, the 610 Office staff planned to take the mother to the police department, but was stopped by the person accompanying the mother. Fearing the consequences, they took the mother to a hospital in the end.
In fact, the police station staff has extorted money from Ms. Zhu several times. In October 2006, led by Liu Qingshan, Zhao Wenkai, Li Yonggang, and Yan Xiaomei, they ransacked her home and took three books and some personal belongings. They haven't returned them so far. On December 6, she went to visit her family-in-law in Qiqihaer City, but she was stopped at the bus terminal by the Center Police Station head, Li Hui, and his men. They took her to the police station and didn't release her until 3 p.m. As a result, Ms. Zhu missed her engagement with her in-laws.
Since July 20, 1999, Ms. Zhu has been harassed by the Beixing Farm Police Department many times. Li Yonggang and others have ransacked her home, arrested her, detained her, and extorted more than 25,000 yuan from her family.

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Shuying, a Falun Dafa practitioner detained in Hebei Province Women's Prison, was taken to the brainwashing center in the prison by guards of the Eighth Ward on August 12, 2007. She was tortured there. The guards involved in this case are as follows:

The guards also instigated collaborator Lan Qizhi (female), She Qiaoling (female), Ni Chunxiang (female), and Tang Hui (female) to threaten, verbally abuse, intimidate, and beat Ms. Liu. Every 24 hours, Ms. Liu is only allowed to sleep one to two hours.
They frequently reported to the guards with negative comments about Ms. Liu, so she was treated even worse. The head of the Eighth Ward, Bi Chunmei, directed prisoner Li Fengqin (assigned to monitor Ms. Liu) by telling her, "Whatever methods you can use, you should "transform" Ms. Liu Shuying immediately. Otherwise, you are not allowed to come back to the ward. You will be locked up with Ms. Liu."
Li Fengqin kicked and beat Ms. Liu over a hundred times. Ms. Liu was kicked so severely that there were wounds over her entire body. Some of the wounds took days to heal. This prisoner kicked and beat Ms. Liu and slandered Falun Gong and cursed its founder to try and intimidate her. Ms. Liu talked to Han, the deputy head of the prison, about what was going on, but he did not pay any attention to her. After being tortured for over 70 days, Ms. Liu became so mentally disoriented that she gave in to the brainwashing. However, when she got back to the ward, Ms. Liu immediately wrote a statement firmly denying her "transformation" under pressure.
At present, there are still over 20 practitioners from the Zhangjiakou City area being held in Hebei Province Women's Prison. Eight practitioners are being held in the New Inmate Ward.
(Clearwisdom.net) Zhang Gonghua was studying for a Masters degree at Fudan University, but he was forced to discontinue his studies in 2000 because he practices Falun Gong. Since then he has been arrested several times. In November 2002 he was illegally sentenced to fifteen years in prison in Shenyang Province. This is his account of his experiences in prison.
When the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999 I approached the Party Committee at Fundan University and clarified the truth to them, but I was detained for over a week. In October I went to the petitions office in Beijing, and also wrote them a letter. But I had barely posted my letter before I was taken away by officers from the Shanghai Government Liaison Office. On the day I went to Beijing, the University sent two officials to abduct me. I was sent to the Liaison Office's brainwashing center and detained there for three months.
When the new school year was about to start, my father was deceived by the university officials into persuading me to take a year's leave from study.
In June 2000, I went to appeal for justice for Falun Gong again. I was arrested when I was clarifying the truth in Tiananmen Square. I didn't tell them my name and address [editor's note: because the the Chinese Communist Party's practice of implicating and harassing family members, friends, and associates of Falun Gong practitioners, practitioners often refuse to reveal their name or address when they are arrested]. I was detained at a custodial station in Daxing County for one day and at Qingyun Road overnight. After being taken to Shanghai, I was detained there for one month. Police from the University Police Station, Yangxin County, Hubei Province and the local Shanghai County Mayor all conspired to force me to sign the "Transformation Statement" [a statement renouncing Falun Gong]. But I refused to stop practicing Falun Gong and wrote a statement affirming my stance. I was sent back to my hometown. After being home two days, I left home to avoid further persecution.
In Shenyang, Liaoning Province I worked as a laborer, and in Dalian and Fushun as a salesperson. Later on I rented a house and shared it with a middle-aged Falun Gong practitioner by the surname of Liu. He was first detained at a labor camp and then at a custodial station. He went on a protest hunger strike for over twenty days and was not released until he was close to death.
When I returned home I was arrested by police from the First Department of the Fushun Police Station and was detained for five days and nights, during which time I was not allowed to sleep. They severely beat me and tied my hands behind my back with thin ropes for long periods (the scars have remained). A policewoman made up an interrogation record, and tried to force me to answer questions about whether I practiced Falun Gong and/or browsed Falun Gong-related websites. A doctor refused to treat me when he saw the bruises and injuries all over my body. Later I learned that the hospital's director was told by the police that it didn't matter if I died.
The police handcuffed and shackled me and ordered inmates to beat me and to stop me from doing the sitting meditation. They force- fed me for thirteen days at the custodial station and then I was transferred to another cell and tortured there. One month later I couldn't bear the torture any more. I went on a hunger strike again and didn't drink for six days. I was force-fed again with mixtures of salt and hot chilli pepper. My esophagus began to bleed, and I passed blood for several days. I was not allowed to go to the toilet or to wash and brush my teeth. I was not given any winter clothing. Several days later they deceived me into going on a hunger strike, but once I had started they beat me and other inmates ferociously.
Suddenly in November 2002 I was sent to the court. But the trial was a farce, my lawyer was not allowed to be there and I was not given any chance of defense. The court disregarded the torture and persecution I had suffered, and minutes into the trial they brought out a printed verdict and gave it to people. I refused to sign it. They said it had the same effect if somebody else signed it for me. I appealed the verdict ten days later but it was ignored.
In April 2003 I was sent to the Fourth Prison in Shenyang. The local government assigned special inmates to persecute me ( the so-called special inmates were those who were given light jobs through family connections. If the inmates effectively persecuted us, they would receive special rewards). I sat there with eyes closed and I was beaten by inmate Wang Guangsong. Inmate Zhang Zheng and others organized many so-called "education" meetings and made speeches. If I didn't recite the prison regulations, I would be forced to sit on stools with thin bamboo strips. We were treated as slaves, and the only food we received was leftovers with flies and mouse droppings in it.
Later in 2003 the Fourth Prison moved to Yuhong District in Shenyang City and merged with the Second Prison. The money my family sent to me was taken by the guards. I asked for it several times before they gave it to me. A new supermarket was opened and we were charged sixty yuan for a card and a deposit. When the market went bankrupt we lost all our money, but nobody cared.
In 2004 I refused to do any more forced labor. I went on a hunger strike and was force- fed again. My internal organs were damaged by this time, and I vomited all the time, and just lay in bed, too weak to eat or get up for over three months. Guard Zhao Jidong, who previously worked in the Fourteenth Prison Cell, Second Prison secretly ordered inmates Wu Daming and Zhang Lixin to set up a torture room and a brainwashing center. They strapped me on a plank and severely beat me when everyone else was eating. Somebody discovered me and saved my life.
In order to recover my health, I got up at night and practiced the exercises. Inmates Wei Guoqiang and Zhang Zheng constantly shoved and beat me They received orders from the guards and were solely in charge of monitoring me. I didn't obey them. Guards in the Sixteenth Prison Cell sent me to the Xiangjiao Sixth Prison Cell on the excuse that I was disturbing the peace. Once there, two inmates, Chen Haitao and Xia Rongri were instructed to monitor and persecute me. Chen saw that I was not able to walk properly and he took advantage of it and cheated me out of money. Soon Chen and Xia were rewarded and they were released. Articles I had hand-written about teaching people to be good were taken away by the guards. They regarded them as "harmful qigong articles." So far they are still in the Xiangjiao Seventh Prison Cell.
Ever since Tang Tiejun, the Presiding Judge of the Shuncheng Court in Fushun City sentenced me to fifteen years in prison for logging onto the Internet in 2002, I have been appealing my sentence. I asked the Government and the Court: How can you see me as bad? Who is my victim? What regulations did you rely on when you illegally detained me, beat me and forcibly put me into jail? Where is the law? None of the above were answered.
Since 2007, officials in the prison have persecuted me in more secretive ways and forced me to do slave labor and recite the prison regulations. They also shaved my hair. Some guards didn't allow us to do the exercises. They have told me that the prison is an "instrument of the law," and they didn't care whether we were guilty of any crime or not. They said they represent the government, "maintaining the law." The prison officials said that they didn't represent the police; the police passed responsibility to the court; while the court passed responsibility to the Procuratorate; and the Procuratorate passed responsibility to the police department. Each department pushed the responsibility from one to the other.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Yaojin Died as a Result of Persecution
Zhang Yaojin, 67, a practitioner in Nankouquian Town, Qingyuan County, Fushun City, was arrested in December 2004 when he was handing out truth-clarifying materials in Xifeng County. Later on, he was jailed in Dongling Prison, Shengyang City, where he was tortured and died in October 2007.

3. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Wei Yangfang, Ms. Liu Fuyong, and Others Illegally Detained
On December 2, 2007 Ms. Wei Yangfang and Ms. Zhao were arrested by Nanyang City police. Both ladies are currently detained in the city's first detention center.
On December 13, Nanyang City practitioner Ms. Liu Fuyong and her non-practitioner husband were arrested by Nanyang's Wolong Public Security Sub-bureau police. They are currently detained in Wolong Police Station.
4. [Huaian County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
On December 11, 2007, when three practitioners from Huaian County were distributing truth-clarifying flyers in Dahugou Village, Shanyi County, they were arrested by local police.
5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Jianming Arrested
On December 10, 2007, practitioner Mr. Wang Jianming of Qingding-Baoan Village, Yushu City, a security guard for Tongrentang Drug Manufacturer, was arrested by police officers from a precinct nearby.
6. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Persecuted in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp
On December 11, 2007, Ms. Xuan Zhaoru, Ms. Cheng Xiaohua, and Mr. Lv Xianfeng were arrested and taken to Heizhizi Forced Labor Camp. Later on, Ms. Xuan and Ms. Cheng were found to be physically unfit for hard labor, so they were sent home. But Mr. Lv is still imprisoned in the camp.
7. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Hongfeng Persecuted at Shengyang City's 2nd Prison
Mr. Wang Hongfeng was arrested in 2001, sentenced to nine years imprisonment and persecuted in Shengyang City's 2nd prison.
Mr. Wang wasn't issued meal tickets from October 31 to November 2, 2007, because he refused to do hard labor, so he had to go hungry for three days.

8. [Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ma Guiqin Arrested
On November 29, 2007, Ms. Ma Guiqin was arrested by local police, including officer Qiang Gang. She is now being held in Baoqing County's detention center. In the morning on the same day, she was forced to open up the room she rented to others, where the police stole a computer, a printer, videos, Dafa books, and other truth-clarifying materials. They then waited in the room for the renters to return.

In the evening of June 30, 2007, 15 practitioners were arrested in Shuangqiao Town, Chengde City: Ms. Cai Shumei, Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Mr. Fan Lixin, Mr. Liu Jinxin, Ms. Zhou Yanchun, Ms. Li Ying, Mr. Zhao Liqiang, Mr. Zhao Baoli, Ms. Zhao Guizhi, Ms. Zhao Haihui, Ms. Bian Xiaoyun, Ms. Cao Ziping, Ms. Yang Shuqin, Yang Shunqin's son, and Ms. Yun Zidan. Six were sent to a forced labor camp: Li Ying, Zhao Baoli, Bian Xiaoyun, Cao Ziping, and Yang Shuqin. In July, Zhao Haihui was sent to a forced labor camp for a year. On December 18, 2007, Shuangqiao District Court planned to put practitioners Cai Shumei, Han Zhiqiang, Fan Lixin, Lin Jinxin, and Zhou Yanchun on trial to further their persecution.
12. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
On December 20, 2007, the homes of Mr. Yang Keyun and Ms. Chen Guiju were ransacked by officers from the Jinling Police Precinct and the 610 Office of the town and city governments. Police took all books related to Falun Gong. Mr. Yang was beaten and forced into a police vehicle by five officers. Both Mr. Yang and Ms. Chen were detained in Linglong Brainwashing Center.
On December 13, 2007, the homes of Ms. Liu Cuiyun and Ms. Yu Hongping were also ransacked by officers from Beifengjia Village Jinling Police Precinct and the 610 Office of the town and city governments. They took away all Dafa books and other items. Liu Cuiyun, Ms. Liu's husband, and Ms. Yu Hongping were also arrested. They're now detained in the Linglong Brainwashing Center.

On December 7, 2007, Ms. Xiang Shulan, 65, was arrested from her home in Yantai City's Laishan District by local police who also ransacked her house. They stole her Falun Dafa books, a computer, a printer, and other items. She's now being held at the Fushan Detention Center.

On December 10, 2007, Zhucheng City, Zhigou Town, practitioners Ms. Li Yixiang, 42; Ms. Zhao Minge, 49; Ms. Wang Yuyun, 45; and Ms. Zhang Zhenxiang, 38, were arrested by local police. They are now being held at the Zhucheng City Detention Center.

Since the calligrapher, Mr. Liu Xitong, was arrested at the end of November 2007, his family has been going around to government offices to complain about his illegal arrest. They haven't been able to see him for a month. On December 14, the arrest of Mr. Liu was "officially approved."

In December 2007, personnel from the Yantai City Court and the 610 Office planned to put practitioner Ms. Liang Yaomin on trial in secret in Yantai City's Mouping District Court.
18. [Yulin City, Guangxi Province] General Situation about the Persecution of Ms. He Aiping, Mr. Wang Ruoguan, and Other Practitioners and their Families
In 2005 when the truth clarification materials production site in the Yuzhou District in Yulin City was destroyed, Ms. He Aiping was arrested and sentenced to nine years in prison. She is now being held in Guangxi Women's Prison. Police have used force to try to "transform" her.
After Mr. Wang Ruoguan was sentenced to prison, his wife couldn't take the suffering and died. His daughter was only 12 then, and the whereabouts of this poor little girl are still unknown. Soon after the persecution started, practitioner Mr. Yang Wei's older brother disappeared, and his younger brother was persecuted in Guanxi First Forced Labor Camp and became mentally ill. He is currently in Liuzhou Mental Hospital. Yang Wei's mother went missing after accompanying her youngest son to Liuzhou City. Her whereabouts are still unknown.

On December 13, 2007, Ms. Huang Jufeng was arrested by Guankou Precinct police while she was passing out Falun Gong truth-clarifying flyers in the Sanmeishui area of the city.
20. [Dongguan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Gao Guoyuan Illegally Arrested and Sent to Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Gao Guoyuan, 35, from Zungyi City, Guizhou Province, was released after three years in Guizhou Province Zhongba Forced Labor Camp. He discovered that his house had been leaking everywhere when it rained and was no longer in a livable condition, so he went to work in Guandong Province. On August 30, 2007, he was arrested by 610 Office police in Wangjiang, Dongguan City, and has been behind bars in Dongguan Detention Center. His wife, in order to go ask for the release of her husband, left behind their seven-year-old son and carried her 42-day-old baby on her back. But the authorities would not release her husband even though he was like a skeleton and in handcuffs when she saw him.
On November 16, 2007, Mr. Gao was sent to a forced labor camp in Guangdong, Sanshui, for 18 months.
21. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Wu Limin and Others Sent to Forced Labor Camps
On November 24, 2007, when Changsha City practitioners Mr. Wu Limin, Mr. Zhang Lihui, Ms. Liu Meishuang, and Ms. Yi Meihong were explaining the truth about Falun Gong and handing out flyers, they were reported to the police by some students. These four practitioners were arrested on the same day and were brutally beaten in the Wangcheng County public security bureau. Their faces and heads were bruised. Ms. Liu Meishuang's hair was pulled out by the handfuls. They were kept behind bars in Wangcheng Detention Center for nearly half a month. Mr. Wu Limin was transferred to Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp, and Liu Meishuang, Zhang Lihui, and Yi Meihong were transferred to Zhuzhou City's Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.

26. [Qu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gou Chengshu Arrested
Ms. Gou Chengshu, 66, is a resident of Dazhu County Farm Residential apartments. On the afternoon of November 12, 2007, Dazhu County State Security and Qu County State Security teamed up to ransack Ms. Gou's home. They stole two recorders, tapes, Teacher's picture, and other items. When Ms. Gou was first arrested she was taken to the Dazhu State Security offices and then transferred to the Qu County State Security offices, where she has been detained ever since.

Zhang Ke is imprisoned in Section 1 of Xinsheng Prison in Panjin City, while Wang Fenghuan is in Pingluo Prison. When Zhang's parents went to Pingluo to request a visit to their daughter-in-law, the wardens rejected them because the they were Falun Dafa practitioners, too.
4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Han Li Detained at the Yaojia Detention Center
On the evening of November 30, 2007, Dafa practitioner Ms. Han Li, who was living at the Tianhe Road Residence for Retired Officials in Ganjingzi District of Dalian City, was arrested by the Dalian City Police Station and currently detained at the Yaojia Detention Center.
5. [Beijing] Dafa Practitioner Li Guiping Persecuted at the Beijing Women's Prison
Ms. Li Guiping was imprisoned in the Concentrative Training Group of the Beijing Women's Prison. Now she has been transferred to Section 3 for intensified persecution.
Li Guiping was illegally sentenced to imprisonment at the Beijing Women's Prison for 12 years. She has been mistreated for the last seven years there because she refuses to give up her belief. The prison has deprived her family of visiting rights for almost a year.
6. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Dafa Practitioner Zhou Suying Illegally Detained
Ms. Zhou Suying, 60s, is a retiree of the Xi'an Railway Bureau in Xinfeng County. Her whereabouts have been unknown since October 20.Recently it has been reported that she is detained at the detention center in Weiyang District.
7. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Zhang Dongxing Arrested
Around 1 p.m. on December 16, 2007, Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Dongxing was arrested at home in Chiping County by policemen from the Dulangkou Police Station. His personal computer and other equipment were taken away. Zhang Dongxing's father, 84 years old, is paralyzed in bed due to a stroke. He has been left without care since his son was arrested.
8. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Tang Fenlan Arrested
Ms. Tang Fenlan, 56, is a resident of Tangjia Village, Jiangzhuang Town. She was reported by policeman Tang Qi from her village and taken away by policemen from Renhe Police Station on November 7, 2007.
9. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Dafa Practitioner Gao Lihua Illegally Detained
Around 4 p.m. on December 3, 2007, Ms. Gao Lihua from Gaotang County, Liaocheng area was arrested by four policemen at a store and currently detained at the detention center.
10. [Shanghai] Shen Meiping and Other Practitioners Arrested
On November 8, police in six districts of Shanghai arrested Dafa practitioners on a large scale. The practitioners who were arrested include Ms. Shen Meiping, Ms. Wang Meihua, Ms. Song Weijue, and Ms. Zhu Fanli. Other practitioners' situations are unclear.
Wang Meihua has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution since she was arrested. She is currently detained at the Kangqiao Hospital in Nanhui District of Shanghai.
11. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Staff and Students Poisoned by CCP Propaganda in the High School of Mudanjiang Agricultural Management Bureau
The High School of Mudanjiang Agricultural Management Bureau in Peide Town, Mishan City encourage their students to report Falun Dafa practitioners and turn in Dafa truth clarification materials. They also require every student to sign a petition promising not to practice Falun Dafa, and encourage the students to apply to be Chinese Communist Party members.

12. [Mancheng County, Hebei Province] Fan Guotian and Two Other Practitioners Extorted Out of Money
On November 30, three Dafa practitioners Mr. Fan Guotian, Ms. Lian Fengzhen, and Ms. Tian Yanhong from Dakanxia Village of Mancheng County went to Kangzhuang of Yi County to distribute truth clarification materials, but were reported to police. They were arrested and sent to Dule Township Police Station and handcuffed to steel poles in a cold room. Lü Wei, the director of the police station and the vice director illegally questioned them and took photos of them. The practitioners were also forced to have their fingerprints taken. Later, the three practitioners were moved to the Yi County Detention Center. They were also extorted out of 3,000 yuan, on top of 40 yuan as the fees for "filling out the documents", by Dule Township Police Station. In addition, they were forced to pay 300 yuan for food and over 20 yuan for miscellaneous to the Yi County Detention Center. The Dule Township Police Station also took away the 60 yuan that Tian Yanhong that had on her.
13. [Shangqiu, Henan Province] High School Students Tao Wei and Li Meng Arrested
In the evening on December 13, 2007, policemen from Minquan County Police Station of Shangqiu City arrested high school students Mr. Tao Wei and Ms. Li Meng, and searched their homes illegally.
Because they practice Falun Dafa, Li Meng's family members have been persecuted over the years. His father Mr. Li Zhengju was illegally sentenced to four years of imprisonment in 2005, his uncle Mr. Li Zhengchao was illegally sentenced to seven years of imprisonment in 2003. Li Zhengchao's wife had already passed away so his children have no parents to look after them.
Tao Wei's family has been persecuted as well. His father was forced into a homeless situation to avoid the persecution since 2006, and his mother was illegally detained for one month in 2006. Now Tao Wei is detained.
On the evening of December 14, 2007, policemen from the State Security Group of Liangyuan District in Shangqiu City, led by Xu Chao, went to teacher Ms. Li Ping's home and claimed that they were there to meet her child. Upon the door being opened, the policemen arrested Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Ping and took her to Lijing Hotel in Shangqiu City. The police tortured and interrogated Li Ping in a hotel room which they forced Li Ping's family to pay for.
At night on December 4, 2007, policemen from the State Security Group of Liangyuan District in Shangqiu City, led by Xu Chao, arrested Dafa practitioner Ms. Wu Haiying who is currently detained at the Pingtai Detention Center of Shangqiu City.
14. [Changling County, Jilin Province] Jia Jinghe Illegally Sentenced to Seven Years of Imprisonment
On July 9, 2007, Dafa practitioner Mr. Jia Jinghe was arrested by Wang Wen, the Director, and other policemen from the State Security of Changling County Police Station from his home in Changling County. His personal belongs including a computer, laser printer, copy machine, truth clarification materials and DVDs, paper, and other supplies, valued at over 10,000 yuan, were taken away by the police.
Jia Jinghe was detained at the local detention center and not allowed family visits. Later, he was illegally sentenced to seven years of imprisonment, and is currently imprisoned at the Siping Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province.
15. [Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Court Plans to Bring a 70-year-old Practitioner to Trial Unlawfully
Guangzhou Dafa practitioner Mr. Deng Yaojia, in his 70s, was arrested at home by police on September 23, 2007. The Liwan District Court plans to hold an illegal trial on December 26.
Another Dafa practitioner Mr. Wu Qigui, who was arrested the same day, has already been tried and sentenced to one year of imprisonment.
16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Zhao Guotao Arrested
Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Guotao in Huanggu District of Shenyang City was arrested by policemen from the Youyi Police Station in Huanggu District of Shenyang City. He is now detained at Zhangshi Brainwashing Center.
17. [Tongjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Liu Yanchang and Others Arrested
On the evening of December 14, 2007, practitioner Ms. Liu Yanchang from Tongjiang City and another practitioner went to Qinghe Town to clarify the truth to people, but were arrested. On the 17th, policemen from Tongjiang City Police Station illegally searched Liu Yanchang's home.
18. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Liu Shuxiang Illegally Sentenced to Four Years of Imprisonment
Late in 2007, the Laixi City Court sentenced practitioner Ms. Liu Shuxiang who was a doctor at the clinic of Yuehu Elementary School in Laixi City to four years of imprisonment. Liu Shuxiang is currently appealing.
19. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Guohong Still Detained at the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao City
20. [Beijing] Zhang Xiaohua and Zhang Guolan Sentenced to Forced Labor
In September, 2007, policemen from the State Security Group in Huairou District of Beijing City arrested practitioners Ms. Zhang Xiaohua and Ms. Zhang Guolan, and illegally searched their homes. They were detained at Huairou Detention Center. In December, they were sentenced to forced labor for two and a half years, and are currently imprisoned at the Coordination Office of the Daxing Forced Labor Camp in Beijing.
21. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Lu Shufen Arrested Again
Ms. Lu Shufen was arrested again on December 15, 2007. She is currently detained at the Zhao County Detention Center in Shijiangzhuang City.
22. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Song Guihua and Other Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
Around 7 p.m. Of December 14, 2007, staff from the Political and Legal Committee of the Zhaoyuan City government broke into the homes of Dafa practitioners Ms. Song Guihua, Ms. Wen Jianhui, Ms. Zhan Chunhua, Ms. Jiang Guilan, Ms. Yang Xuefen, and Ms. Wen Guoxiang. They took away the practitioners' personal belongs including truth clarification materials, TV antennas, TV sets, and VCDs. The practitioners were sent to a brainwashing center that was set up to persecute Dafa practitioners.
23. [Qianxi County, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Chai Junxia Unjustly Faces Trial
Ms. Chai Junxia was illegally arrested on July 18, 2007, while her home was illegally searched. She is currently detained at the Qianxi County Detention Center and not allowed family visits. The Qianxi County Procuratorate plans to put her on trial on December 10.
Chai Junxia has been detained and her home has been searched several times over the past years. Chai Cuijun, Chai Junxia's sister-in-law, was illegally sentenced to imprisonment for five years, and is currently imprisoned and forced to put in long hours doing slave labor every day in Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.

Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. (Clearwisdom.net) The 2008 Calgary Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference was held on January 6, 2008 at the University of Calgary. The conference site was solemn and practitioners' sharings were very moving.
When a practitioner learned that his careless remarks made a fellow practitioner very upset, he was deeply saddened. He understood that what caused the partitions between practitioners is due to insufficient Fa-study and not being able to truly look within when encountering conflicts. Therefore, he added a thought during his sending righteous thoughts: completely disintegrate the partitions between me and fellow practitioners. When the substances caused the partitions was removed, he no longer blamed others when conflicts occurred, but saw brilliant aspects in fellow practitioners that he should aspire to himself.
Another practitioner shared how she overcame family conflicts. She contributed a lot to the family and her husband supported her to practice Falun Dafa, but he held a different opinion on her participation in Fa-validation projects. Sometimes he would complain and sometimes the atmosphere at home was intense. Through Fa-study and exchanging with fellow practitioners, she realized that she was not truly considerate of others at home. She stated that on the path of cultivation, she will bear in mind that she is a Dafa cultivator and she should harmonize the Fa.
Breaking through the old forces' arrangements with righteous thoughts
A practitioner went to New York to assist in ticket sales for Holiday Wonders. He overcame all kinds of difficulties and achieved good results. When he felt a bit complacent for his achievement, the evil took advantage of his loophole and he suddenly lost his voice. He could not utter a word for two days. So he kept sending righteous thoughts and negated all old force elements that prevent sentient beings from being saved. He sent out a thought to passersby with the purest heart: I just want to save you. One day, when he promoted tickets, he suddenly got his voice back.
A practitioner who works on the Epoch Times project, took a detour on his cultivation path, because the old forces took advantage of his sentiment and set a trap to persecute him. He understood from this experience that only by maintaining righteous thoughts and righteous actions, and at the same time doing well the three things, can we negate and break through the old forces' arrangements. He shared his understanding that the old forces persecute Dafa disciples in various ways: for example, some practitioners passed away; some practitioners went astray and were unable to return to Dafa cultivation; some practitioners were trapped into everyday people's affairs and were unable to do well the three things; some practitioners were unable to let go of their attachments and unable to fulfill their historical missions and so on. Only by strengthening Fa-study and exchanging with practitioners, maintaining righteous thoughts and actions, and negating the old forces' arrangements, can we walk each step well.
Tempering ourselves in the group environment
A practitioner who has cultivated Dafa for ten years realized recently that he is actually still a new practitioner. Because only by truly studying the Fa well, solidly practicing, truly understanding the meaning of the Fa, and truly accomplishing it, can we offer more sentient beings salvation, and can we be genuine Dafa disciples. When regretting for having missed ten years of genuine cultivation, she learned a profound lesson is that we must cherish the group environment. While being with the group, we not only can participate in all kinds of Fa-validation projects, but also everything that we see and listen to, whether or not it appears to be directly related to us, is helpful for our cultivation and also lays the foundation step by step for us to harmonize with the group.
A graduate student who is studying at the University of Calgary was illegally sentenced to three years in prison by the Communist regime in China. He summarized his cultivation experience in the past two years since he came overseas. When participating in the ticket sales for the 2007 Spectacular, his advisor exerted great pressure on him and at the same time, he had to face fellow practitioners' complaints. Moreover, several practitioners who took charge of hotlines had conflicts, the atmosphere was heavy. He realized he had not done well in assimilating to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and was unable to unconditionally look within when encountering conflicts. Through practitioners' harmonizing and cooperating with each other, they let go of their egos and unconditionally took offering salvation to sentient beings as priority.
A practitioner who participates in marketing for the Epoch Times and the Spectacular, talked about the significance of marketing the Epoch Times newspaper. She said doing advertisement and marketing for the Epoch Times, is not only a rare opportunity for practitioners to cultivate, but also an opportunity to associate with people in society and set a good model for ordinary society.
"This is the best Fa conference I have ever attended since I came to Calgary three years ago," an elderly practitioner said with tears in her eyes. She expressed her sincere thanks to practitioners who shared their experiences.

A practitioner who just started practicing Falun Dafa a year ago talked about how she was introduced to the Fa and her experiences as a practitioner. She discussed how she went to a tourist spot in Singapore to clarify the truth to tourists and how she improved in the process.
Another practitioner shared her experience of going to different construction sites to distribute the Epoch Times newspaper and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and to advise Chinese workers to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. She was driven out of the construction site the first time she went there, but now more and more Chinese workers have learned about the facts and quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. She also talked about how she studied the Fa diligently, looked within when encountering conflicts, resolved conflicts between fellow practitioners, and improved herself.
Several young practitioners from the Minghui School shared how they grew up in Dafa cultivation. A five-year-old practitioner talked about how she went to clarify the truth with her parents and encouraged her father to not give up an opportunity to clarify the truth to people.
During the afternoon session of the conference, young practitioners from the Minghui School got on stage to recite "Your Master Consciousness Needs to be Strong" from Zhuan Falun to the audience's warm applause.

About 500,000 people saw the group's performances, including the exercise demonstration, the flag dance, the traditional Chinese fan dance, and the beautiful float promoting Divine Performing Arts' Chinese New Year Spectacular.
The Divine Land Marching Band played "Falun Dafa Is Good", "Drums and Trumpets Shake the World in Ten Directions" and Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" along the parade route. When the Falun Gong procession passed by the host's platform, he introduced Falun Gong to the spectators. The spectators enjoyed the performance as well as the paper lotus flowers that the practitioners passed out.
The parade lasted for about 90 minutes, and it started to rain towards the end of the parade. Nonetheless, the practitioners were still in high spirits and after the parade, the event organizer told some practitioners that he was amazed by the Divine Land Marching Band's wonderful performance. He added that he was pleased to see Falun Gong practitioners participating in the parade, and that the Falun Gong group's performance has gotten better each year.
The members of the marching band were glad that they were able to display the magnificence of Falun Dafa to so many spectators. After the parade, a British girl by the name of Christine, who joined the band and participated in the parade for the first time, said that she saw the spectators greeting the practitioners all along the route. A young practitioner from Taiwan, who performed overseas for the first time, said that she was moved by the spectators' warm reception. She was proud of being able to overcome some difficulties to come to London. Mr. Wang, a member of the marching band who has participated in various events around Europe, said that he saw many people responding well to the performance.
After the parade, the practitioners went to a nearby park for group photos, which would be sent to Master Li as New Year's greetings.
The following evening, Tony, a practitioner who participated in an around-the-clock peaceful protest in front of the Chinese Embassy in London, met an elderly German couple who are members of the Free Tibet campaign and stage a protest at the Embassy every Wednesday evening. The couple had already known about the Chinese Communist regime's persecution against Falun Gong. They greeted Tony warmly and complimented the practitioners' fine performance.

These people started off as public servants, but under the intense pressure applied by the Jiang regime, they were pushed into persecuting Dafa disciples. A security guard from Luzhou city, Sichuan Province, receives karmic retribution
Zeng Guangyao, male, 48 years old, was a security guard for the Shangpingyuan Street Community of Luzhou City. Following orders of the Jiang regime to persecute Falun Gong, he had monitored and shadowed practitioners. Now he is suffering from a spur on a vertebra in his neck which makes his head twitch nonstop and he has had to resign from his position. Now he leads a living doing cleaning work and is in unspeakable pain.
The Communist Party secretary of Dawan Village, Yuandian Town, Feixi County, Anhui Province, died
In early May 2005, Kong Fanqing, the Communist Party secretary of Dawan village, Yuandian town, Feixi County, died suddenly.
One morning, Kong Fanqing took a walk to the water gate in Dawan Village. He saw two fish jumping in the river. When he bent to catch the fish, he fell to the ground. He died on the way to the hospital.
Many people in the village said that he had received karmic retribution for having cruelly beaten Falun Gong practitioners and reported them to the police. At about 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2005, one week before his unexpected death, he and another Dawan Village security guard arrested a practitioner who was posting Falun Gong truth clarification materials. Kong Fanqing used his belt to beat the practitioner so cruelly that blood ran from a puncture in the practitioner 's head and stained his white clothes red. He then called the local Shannan police station. Three police officers arrested the the practitioner and took him to the police station. He also led another two policemen to ransack the practitioner 's home. The practitioner was detained in the county detention center for more than 30 days. After that, he was sentenced to one year of forced labor.
The head of the Politics and Security Section of the police department of Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, died
Cui Zhiheng was appointed the head of the Politics and Security Section of the police department of Yuncheng City in 1999. In late July1999, he fined practitioners who were intercepted on their way to appeal for Falun Gong. The practitioners who were farmers were fined 500 yuan each, while others were fined as much as 3,800 yuan. After the practitioners were released, they went to Cui to ask him to return the fines, but he flatly refused.
One day, Cui went to Taiyuan to take his son to school. He also carried with him a list of the practitioners to be reported to higher authorities. On his way back, Cui died in a traffic accident.
People in the police department were astounded by his death. When the deputy head of his section was appointed to take his place, he refused.
A 610 Office agent from Shengze County, Hebei Province, receives karmic retribution
Tao Jian was the director of the 610 Office of the Shengze-based branch of the 4th subordinate company of the Petroleum Exploration Company of Northern China. In the past several years he actively followed the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to persecute the Falun Gong practitioners in his company. Many practitioners were sentenced to imprisonment and forced labor and many were fined and their homes confiscated, which caused them and their families great mental and physical distress.
Not long ago, Tao Jian suddenly had a heart attack, for which he was hospitalized and had an operation. Now he is recovering at home. For fear that other people might know his situation, all information about his condition is being kept secret.
The company commander of the militia of Jiayue Town, Zhucheng City, Shandong Province, hit by a car and a motorcycle
Xie Binghua, a company commander of the Jiayue town militia in Zhucheng City, was very hateful toward Falun Gong. On March 11, 2007, he led other police officers to confiscate the homes of several practitioners, two of whom became homeless while one was sentenced to forced labor. About 10 days later, when he was crossing the national road in Jiayue Town, he was hit by a car and then a motorcycle ran over him before he could stand up. He was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment.
(Clearwisdom.net) I obtained the Fa in 1997. In July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started a massive persecution of Falun Gong. I was dumbstruck by the aggressiveness of the evil suppression and was lost for almost seven years. Although I still tried to follow the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" in my behavior, I stopped studying the Fa, doing the exercises and did not do any Fa-rectification work. Those were seven years wasted!
Since I did not study the Fa for a long time, it was hard for me to maintain my xinxing level. I encountered a series of family conflicts. I became very confrontational with my husband and my in-laws as I slipped to a very dangerous edge. One day after a long day's work, I suddenly developed a fever accompanied with heaviness in my chest and breathing difficulty. My family took me to the hospital. The doctors put me on an IV and gave me oxygen. I struggled for most of the night. The oxygen tube was in my nose but did not help me breathe at all. I felt like I was suffocating. I suddenly realized that Teacher was calling me back into Dafa. Teacher was telling me clearly: If you continue like this, you will be in a dangerous situation.
During the past seven years, some fellow practitioners came to see me and tried to remind me to be diligent in cultivation. However, my mind seemed to be suppressed and hindered by something that prevented me from truly doing the three things a Dafa disciple should do. Now that I think back, I realize that these tribulations were not arranged by Teacher. It was the old forces that grasped the weakness in my attachment to human notions. My mind was suppressed and controlled by my weakness and just as it was said in the Fa: "Should attachments be too heavy, bearings will be lost." (Hong Yin (II))
I finally awakened and began to diligently do the three things in 2006. I suddenly awoke and deeply regretted the time I lost. Thus, I used all the time I had to do the three things that a practitioner should do. Teacher wanted me to catch up quickly to the main body of practitioners. He pointed out almost every one of my attachments in my dreams.
At the time, I felt that I had too many attachments and did not know which one to deal with first. The best thing to do was to study the Fa as much as possible and catch up with the others! As such, in everyday life I based every thought on the Fa and always measured the correctness of my thoughts using Fa. I went through several sickness karma tribulations.
During the most severe one I twisted my back and had to lie on the bed. Any small movement would cause me to cry out in pain. I could not even get up to go to the washroom. My family tried to persuade me to get a massage. I firmly said: "No, this is sickness karma being eliminated. This is to test whether I am treating it as illness and to test whether I am attached to my own body." Later, fellow practitioners came to my house and sent forth righteous thoughts with me. One practitioner saw a black being in another dimension dwelling on the small of my back. I felt much better afterward. Before long I completely recovered. When I searched inside myself, I found that I had not been spending much time studying the Fa and doing the exercises. My xinxing level was not well maintained, thus creating an opportunity for the evil to take hold.
I came to realize that in cultivation, just as Teacher had said, we will be tested again and again on the firmness of our belief in the Fa and in Teacher. Every once in a while my family would try to persuade me to quit cultivation. Sometimes they would try to persuade me in a gentle manner, sometimes very harshly. When I first heard them say these things, I could not help but worry that my innocent relatives could suffer from the persecution because of my cultivation. I could not bear that! But on second thought I realized this is not right. I am cultivating the highest Fa of this universe. Who is entitled to persecute me?! "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" is Buddha Law. It is the highest Fa that created all beings in the universe! Who dares to persecute us?! When one has adequate righteous thoughts, he or she is a radiant god. All evil will stay away from such a person. When my family later said anything to persuade me to quit Dafa work, my heart was not swayed at all. I continued to do whatever I had to do.
I can feel that I am reaching higher levels in cultivation. The power of my righteous thoughts has been increasing. When I first started sending forth righteous thoughts, my level was low and I had not been doing enough exercises. As a result, I always felt very tired afterward and I felt that my righteous thoughts were weak. Now I can fully concentrate under whatever circumstances and I feel very powerful as if nothing can stop the power of my righteous thoughts.
Many Dafa practitioners have children. It is not coincidental that we practitioners can become parents and children to each other in the grandness of Fa-rectification. These children come here for the Fa. It is our responsibility to give them the opportunity to cultivate. I believe that many of them come from high levels and have various supernatural abilities. The first time I taught my child to do the exercises he was able to "Hold the Wheel" for the entire half hour. I asked him if he was tired and he said he was but he could still continue. One day he told me that the previous night Teacher had taken his true spirit out to eliminate evil. Since then, his celestial eye has been open. He sees many scenes in other dimensions. He told me that there were very few rotten demons left in other dimensions, that now it is mainly vicious gods that continue to cause interference and persecute practitioners.
On one occasion we were sending righteous thoughts focused on the Beijing Women's Prison and my son said: "There is a very big vicious god there. Hundreds of thousands of light beams from the Dafa practitioners shone on it but it would not budge. Mother, what can we do if our righteous thoughts don't work?" I said, "No worries, we will continue to send righteous thoughts until it is eliminated." In the end, Dafa practitioners' unified righteous thoughts worked. The vicious god dissolved seconds later.
When sending righteous thoughts, it is important to clear the space and field around us. I cleanse myself every time I send righteous thoughts. However, when I started cultivation I would feel that my head was foggy and I had bad memories. Things that were in my hands moments before would be nowhere to be found the next moment. I had trouble studying the Fa. I was depressed about this; I did not know what went wrong. After my son's celestial eye opened, he told me that there was a huge black lotus flower in my body in another dimension. The lotus flower was deeply rooted in my body and it had been there since I started cultivation. Its roots were very thick. He demonstrated using his hands and said, "The smallest root is as big as this" (about 3 meters in diameter). After hearing that, I immediately started cleansing my space and my environment. This time I had true intentions and I cleaned it out very quickly. I asked myself why was I not able to clean it out before. It seemed that previously I had thought that my space had been under control, so when I sent righteous thoughts, I took it for granted. That was how the evil could stay in my space for so long. When I cleared it, my head suddenly became clear. I felt strong and powerful when sending righteous thoughts, and I could concentrate while studying the Fa.
Fellow practitioners, if you feel that something is wrong with your physical body or your notions, you must send righteous thoughts. As long as you have strong and pure intentions, your righteous thoughts should be powerful.
I see that some practitioners' children are not in a good cultivation state. Maybe it is because the adults are too busy. The children are weak in self-discipline. There are various effective and flexible ways we can use to help them cultivate. For example, we can instill the notion of cultivation when we talk to them. Some children do not like to read but we can let them listen to an MP3 player. If they do not have time to do the exercises, we can ask them to meditate for a while before going to sleep.
After so many years of cultivation, I feel that I have eliminated some human notions, but not all. There are some circumstances in which my human notions still react very strongly. I have enjoyed singing ever since I was little and I think I can sing quite well. I once attended a gathering with Karaoke. When I heard the music I became big-headed. I could not wait to show off my singing. Then I knew it was another attachment that I need to let go so I sat tight, but my heart was itching to sing. Then I thought, I cannot let my attachment go anyway so I may as well go take a turn. I sang a song but found out that everyone left the banquet hall while I sang, yet it was crowded before I began! It seemed like Teacher used this method to help me let go of my attachments. In another similar incident I sang a song but felt it was not pleasant to the ears. It happened to help me get rid of my attachment to showing off my voice.
My child told me what he saw: our gong columns grow rapidly as we do the three things. The main body of Dafa practitioners has already exceeded the Three Realms.
Fellow practitioners, don't underestimate yourselves. Treat yourselves as righteous divine beings and treat everything with full righteous thoughts. The most magnificent future is awaiting Dafa practitioners. However, everything comes from the Fa. We have to treat the Fa as our teacher. Only in the Fa can we elevate!
(Clearwisdom.net) I believe that I need to make a fundamental breakthrough. My biggest problem is that I do Dafa work with human attachments, and at the same time, my attachment to doing things interferes with my Fa study.
In doing Dafa work, even if I have a breakthrough at the superficial level, I often fail to keep up with cultivation and to maintain righteous thoughts. The worst thing is that I neglect Fa-study or try to finish it quickly, like a task. I need to to look at everything I do from the perspective of Godhood so that I can be more efficient. From the perspective of xinxing, I need to cultivate my compassion when doing Dafa work.
Another problem occurs when dealing with my fellow practitioners. I shouldn't try to change others through my coordinating. We should always pay attention to cultivating ourselves. When a life returns to Godhood at the fundamental level, he can use all his supernormal powers to save sentient beings. Letting go of humanness is the most powerful way to harmonize the group as a whole. We need to cooperate with fellow practitioners to do things and remember to look within for our attachments. We are being tempered along with our fellow practitioners within the Fa; our purpose is not to help other practitioners to cultivate by focusing on their attachments. I did not realize this point until recently. Actually, if we always try to correct others and attempt to influence the whole body, it becomes an obstacle to cultivating ourselves well.
Our contacts may be many or few, but we have a standard--that is, we are not led by our attachments. We are not driven by the attachment to controlling things, the attachment to fame, or the attachment to self-importance.
Recently I discovered in myself a very strong attachment to controlling things. I almost tried to step into the position of "general coordinator." But at the same time, I don't have enough energy inside. Sometimes I even fall into a foggy state: I cannot get up early in the morning and feel unsettled, with endless conflicts in my mind. I remembered Master's warning about "breeding demons in your own mind."
Gradually I found the problem. I had the hidden attachments to fame and profit in doing Dafa work. These attachments are difficult to detect, which make them the most fundamental attachments.
(Clearwisdom.net) I downloaded the exercise music from Minghui Radio and started doing the exercises at the time synchronized across China. It has been nine months since Clearwisdom announced early morning group exercise on March 5, 2007. After talking with other practitioners, I learned that they all got up earlier than I and started the exercises at 3:50 a.m. I felt ashamed that I only managed to start doing the exercises at 3:50 a.m. about one third of the time. I usually did the exercises at either 4:10 a.m. or 4:50 a.m., and I didn't practice the exercises in unison with practitioners all over China. Previously, I had practiced the meditation at 4:50 a.m., then did the moving exercises, followed by sending righteous thoughts. Why couldn't I do the exercises in unison with practitioners all over China and harmonize as a whole body?
I realized that I didn't have a strong will and self-restraint, and I allowed my main consciousness to relax. My pseudo-self didn't want to get up, so I snoozed a little. When I woke up, I thought, "We don't have anything like doing the exercises at set times or set locations." So I did the meditation first, then the moving exercises. My thoughts and actions were not on the Fa. Instead of setting a higher standard for myself, I compared by behavior with what I did in the past. Especially during the winter, I had a very difficult time leaving my comfortable bed. Although Teacher said that doing the exercises is the best kind of rest, I was still measuring myself with a non-practitioner's mentality. While I knew that it was interference, I still slacked off.
Once, while sending righteous thoughts at midnight, I was too sleepy to keep my mind clear and I fell asleep. I woke up at 6:30 the next morning. As a result, I missed sending righteous thoughts again. In fact, it was interference. However, I had been using human thinking to evaluate and handle these problems. I thought, "Why was I so sleepy? Maybe I didn't sleep well." Other practitioners also asked me whether I got enough sleep. I totally forgot it wasn't me and that I should not accept it. Instead, I should send righteous thoughts to eliminate the interference.
I always went to sleep after sending righteous thoughts at midnight. Around 12:40 or 1:00 am, I would tell myself I should fall asleep right now, otherwise I won't wake up on time in the morning. I comforted myself with the thought that there's no difference in doing the exercises at 4:50 am. In fact, I did not cooperate harmoniously to assimilate as one body. I thought I was lacking sleep, and whenever I didn't wake up on time, I would rationalize it with human thinking.
Some practitioners said that they could do the morning exercises and then go back to sleep until 9:00 a.m. They believed in having sufficient sleep, and, as a result, they tried to sleep at night and in the morning. But they hadn't tried their best to save sentient beings day and night and just couldn't compare with the diligent practitioners. Some other practitioners also said, "I can't get up at 3:30 a.m., and this is not what Teacher asked us to do." I think this understanding is not right. Teacher once told us to read the Clearwisdom website for positions on major issues. Teacher said:
"Actually, if you think about it, the cultivators of the past didn't dare to slack off for even a second, and that was when it took an entire lifetime to complete the journey. So how can Dafa disciples--who are to achieve the Attainment Status of a being who is saved by Dafa and who have the most convenient cultivation way--not be even more diligent when they are given this most glorious honor of Fa-validating cultivation in a brief cultivation period that passes in the blink of an eye? You already know that the form of a Dafa disciple's cultivation has one cultivate here, in the world, among ordinary people, and that the cultivation directly targets one's mind. All human attachments and notions that interfere with validating the Fa and saving sentient beings must be removed. For cultivators traveling a divine path, is it really that hard to get rid of those attachments that arise from human thinking and to change those notions?" ("The Closer to the End, the More Diligent You Should Be")
When I was very reluctant to get up, I would think, "I am a Dafa disciple during the Fa-rectification period, I have responsibilities to save sentient beings, and I need to be diligent, more diligent." Finally, Teacher helped me when I repeated, "The closer to the end, the more diligent I should be. The closer to the end, the more diligent I should be. The closer to the end, the more diligent I should be." Immediately, I perked up and felt very light. I feel that Teacher is looking after us, protecting us, and helping us all the time. We should do well what Teacher has asked us to do, save more sentient beings, and harmonize what Teacher wants.
I understand the preciousness of time. We should know that time is precious beyond measure. One practitioner shared his understanding about the morning exercises on the Clearwisdom website: "Teacher is looking at us to see what we will do after reading the Clearwisdom editor's notification, to see if we repel the attack on our practice environment arranged by the old forces, and to see if we become more diligent when it is closer to the end. After the environment of group exercises was destroyed in 1999, many practitioners couldn't practice the exercises on a regular basis, and some even stopped practicing the exercises for a long time. At this very late stage of Fa-rectification, Teacher has helped us to create such a huge practice environment. All I can feel is Teacher's vast compassion."
The practitioners who did well before should harmonize as a whole body. As the end draws nearer, we should become more diligent. The practitioners who didn't do well before should catch up. Master once said: "Once you miss the opportunity, you will never have it again." I feel ashamed that I didn't practice the exercises in unison with other practitioners, and I didn't do well―I let Teacher down. I wrote this article to strengthen my willpower, dissolve laziness, and transcend human notions. Fellow practitioners, let us cultivate ourselves more diligently together and follow Teacher's Fa-rectification process.

My Understanding of Joining the Morning Group Exercises

The other day I read an article on "Minghui Weekly." It said that joining group exercise is participating in the activity with all practitioners and acting as one body. Today, I want to share my understanding about this. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
Once, after doing the fifth exercise, I suddenly enlightened to the meaning of one sentence in Zhuan Falun:
"Our Falun Dafa cultivation has stayed away from using one energy channel to drive hundreds of other ones. Right from the get-go we make all the energy channels move simultaneously and all energy channels operate in sync." (Zhuan Falun)
I realize that each Dafa practitioner is one "energy channel." Aren't the morning exercises "making all the energy channels move simultaneously and all energy channels operate in sync?" With Teacher's protection, if we could do well what we should do and if all "energy channels" operate in sync, how wonderful the morning group exercises would be! The evil factors would not exist any more.
However, in our area, many practitioners do the exercises at different times, and some don't even do them at all. Practitioners have many excuses: they're unable to stay awake during Fa study or it's cold outside now, so it's hard to get rid of the attachment to comfort. I believe if one energy channel doesn't operate, it will affect the progress of Fa-rectification. Teacher does not want to leave any practitioners behind, so Teacher will wait until your energy channel starts to move. Fellow practitioners, let's get rid of human notions, and be more diligent!
(Clearwisdom.net) For quite a while, I have noticed that some practitioners' movements are incorrect when doing the exercises, especially when they did the hand gestures of the fifth exercise. When I shared this with them, they all expressed the same feeling: they suddenly felt that their mind was blank and they could not remember how to do the hand gestures. An elderly practitioner in his 80s even had continuous dizziness the next day. I carefully reflected on my own experiences, and I found the following possible reasons:
If we don't attend group practice, fellow practitioners cannot point out our incorrect movements.
If our minds wander while we are doing the exercises, our hand gestures can deviate.
When we are practicing we are not paying attention to our hand gestures. The hand gestures are the language of enlightened beings. If we do it wrong, doesn't it become another language? If we do not control it, other factors in the universe will interfere. In the long run, this can create other movements. It certainly should not be allowed. We are also not being respectful to Teacher and Dafa!
The exercise movements are the supplemental method that Teacher left to us and all sentient beings to reach enlightenment and therefore can never be changed. It is too crucial to ignore. It is an important component of a complete Falun Dafa practice we leave for future generations. This is the responsibility of practitioners in the Fa-rectification period. Here I want to remind fellow practitioners that we should be strict with ourselves and other practitioners and correct our movements according to Master's teachings.
