My Cultivation Experience in Hong Kong

November 14, 2007 |   By a practitioner from Taiwan

I obtained the Fa in Britain at the end of 2004. A Western practitioner introduced me to Falun Dafa. I soon returned to Taiwan.

In the first two years of my cultivation, I did three things: practiced the exercises, studied the Fa, and sent forth righteous thoughts. I thought that was all there was to cultivation.

It was not until the 2007 Lunar New Year that I and fellow practitioners from Hsinchu County went to Hong Kong to clarify the facts of Falun Gong. It was then I realized that I was lagging behind in my cultivation. The tourist attractions in Hong Kong were flooded with people from Mainland China who had come over to hear about the truth of Falun Gong and withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party. However, we did not have enough manpower to help all of them, so a lot of people missed a chance to be saved.

I could not let the situation go on like that. Right after I returned to Taiwan and settled some things at home, I flew back to Hong Kong. Since the Lunar New Year I have been staying in Hong Kong most of the time.

One day I woke up and found I was the only one left in the room. The other practitioners had all gone out to do the exercises. I suddenly felt that the other practitioners would all consummate and rise up in broad daylight one day, and I would be the only one, still sleeping in bed. No, I didn't want to lag behind. I wanted to be diligent and keep pace with fellow practitioners. I jumped out of bed immediately and joined the exercises.

When we were doing the fifth exercise, I noticed that the other practitioners all sat up straight with serene expressions on their faces. I was grimacing in pain and wanted to put my legs down within 30 minutes. But I made up my mind to sit through the whole hour. The pain was severe. I was about to pass out but I endured it and did not put my legs down until the music ended. I did the same for several days after that.

One day when the meditation music ended, I distinctly heard the words "Passed the Test." I asked my fellow practitioners if they had heard it. Some of them had heard it, too. A fellow practitioner said it was Master encouraging us. Ever since then, I can sit in full lotus position for one hour.

One day when I was talking to people about Falun Gong, a lady from Mainland China spoke to me rudely, "What do you want? What's your motive?" I knew she was deeply poisoned by CCP propaganda, so I explained the facts to her even more compassionately. She listened more and more carefully. I couldn't hold back my tears while explaining the truth about the persecution. She looked at me and said, "Don't cry. Please don't cry, I understand what you are saying. I understand everything now." She then renounced her CCP membership. A life was saved.

The Fa-rectification is moving forward rapidly. I feel it most deeply at the tourist attractions. Hundreds of tourist buses drive to the attractions everyday. Mainland travelers now have a jingle, "Going to Hong Kong, don't forget to renounce the CCP." After a number of people renounced their memberships, they even invited me to visit them in their hometowns. Some said they would be my guide and provide free accommodation and food for me after the evil CCP disintegrates. Some gentlemen from Inner Mongolia invited me to ride camels.

A practitioner from Hong Kong who obtained the Fa a little over a month ago couldn't help crying when he came to a tourist attraction for the first time. We first thought he had some problems at home. He told us, "Men do not cry easily. When I see Falun Gong practitioners explain the facts to people so compassionately, even after they have suffered such severe persecution, I am so moved. I am truly moved!"

He said he did not shed a tear when his father passed away. However, he has already cried twice since he obtained the Fa a month ago. The first time was at the parade in Hong Kong celebrating 25 million people quitting the CCP. His tears flowed when he heard the Divine Land Marching Band perform.

A practitioner in Hong Kong takes a bus to the tourist attraction every day. She spends more than two hours going there and returning home and has to work to pay for the transportation. She works as a waitress at a noodle restaurant in the evening. She then comes to our place to study the Fa after she gets off work and leaves after sending righteous thoughts at midnight. She has to walk a long way after she gets off bus, and she listens to Master's lectures on the way. It's almost 2 o'clock in the morning when she arrives home. This is her daily schedule, 365 days a year, rain or shine.

Here in Hong Kong, I realize that this is an environment most capable of tempering a cultivator. Every single attachment and shortcoming of mine has been exposed, and I will be able to see and get rid of them layer by layer.
