(Clearwisdom.net)Today's News from China includes reports of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 13 provinces. In this report, 48 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention and at least 35 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Ms. Liu Tiexie on a Hunger Strike
In August 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Tiexia, imprisoned at the Jiamusi City Women's Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province, held a hunger strike to protest abuse. She was force-fed. Her face swelled and her teeth were damaged when her mouth was pried open.
2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Yan in Critical Condition from Torture
On the morning of September 6, 2007, twenty employees from the Changyi City 610 Office in Shandong Province went to Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Ma Yan's home. They opened her door with a master key and arrested her. They ransacked her home and stole the computer, printer, and all other valuables. Ms. Ma Yan is imprisoned at the Changyi City Detention Center.
At around 6 a.m. on September 21, 2007, Ms. Ma was taken to Wang Village Women's No. 2 Detention Center. There she was tortured and developed life-threatening symptoms: she could not eat or drink, she developed varicose veins in her esophagus, stomach cancer, cirrhosis of the liver, inflammation of the gallbladder, inflamed kidneys, constipation, and low blood pressure. On October 14, 2007, Ms. Ma was sent home.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Mingjiu on a Hunger Strike
Practitioner Ms. Yang Mingjiu was imprisoned at the No. 1 Squadron of the Changchun City Weizigou Forced Labor Camp. She started a hunger strike in October 2007 to protest maltreatment. She was force-fed.
There are at least fifteen practitioners imprisoned at the Weizigou Forced Labor Camp.
4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Baoxia Forced to Go into Hiding
Around 9 p.m. on September 24, 2007, police from the Bei Street Police Station in Guta District in Jinzhou City broke into practitioner Ms. Wang Baoxia's home. They ransacked the place and stole her Dafa books, Teacher Li's picture, and truth-clarification materials. Ms. Wang Baoxia was forced to leave home and go into hiding.

5. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Mr. Chi Yaocai Arrested
On October 16, 2007, when practitioner Mr. Chi Yaocai from Shixian Town in Tumen City was distributing truth-clarification materials about Falun Gong in Daxinggou Town of Tumen City, he was arrested by the police from the Daxinggou Town Police Station. He is imprisoned at the Wangqing County Forestry Bureau Xishan Detention Center.
6. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Cuiping Arrested
Before October 1, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Cuiping was arrested by the police from the Gongnong Street Police Station in Hongwei District in Liaoyang City. Later practitioners Mr. Liu Yanwen and Mr. Huang Li were also arrested. The three of them are detained in Liaoyang City Detention Center.

7. [Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province] Update on Ms. Zhao Guili's Arrest
Around 8 a.m. on October 22, 2007, when practitioner Ms. Zhao Guili was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong near the Qianjin Street Police Patrol Area of Gulou Police Department in Gaizhou City, she was reported to the police and then arrested. They have detained her.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp Personnel Try to Forcibly "Transform" Newly Arrived Practitioners
There are 35 practitioners imprisoned at the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. The forced labor camp personnel attempt to forcibly "transform" all newly arrived practitioners.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Guangshu and Ms. Song Arrested
On October 20, 2007, practitioners Mr. Chen Guangshu from Ganjingzi District and Ms. Song (given name unknown) from the Wafangdian area in Dalian City were arrested in Beijing.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Ming Arrested
On October 26, 2007, practitioner Mr. Li Ming was arrested.
11. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Bo Among Arrested Practitioners
Practitioners Ms. Li Bo and others from Liao River Oil Field were arrested on October 23, 2007.
12. [Beijing City] Ms. Wang Chunjie Arrested
On October 20, 2007, police broke into Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Chunjie's home and arrested her. The police also ransacked her home and stole Dafa books.
13. [Beijing City] Ms. Guo Arrested
On October 13, 2007, practitioner Ms. Guo, 52, from Yanqing County in Beijing was arrested while posting truth-clarification materials.
14. [Tianjin City] Ms. Yu Jianhua Arrested
Practitioner Ms. Yu Jianhua from the Lixiuyuan area in Xiqing District in Tianjin City was reported to the police when she was distributing truth-clarification materials on October 26, 2007. She was then arrested by the police from the Liqizhuang Police Station in Xiqing District. Her one-year old son was left at home.

15. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Shuhua and Ms. You Chuanxiang Arrested
On the afternoon of October 17, 2007, practitioners Ms. Liu Shuhua and Ms. You Chuanxiang from Chewang Village in Damoujia Town in Gaomi City were arrested at their homes by police from the Zhougezhuang Police Station in Damoujia Town. Their homes were ransacked. They are being detained at the Gaomi City Detention Center.

16. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Bi Jiankai Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Bi Jiankai, in his thirties, was arrested on October 11, 2007. His whereabouts are unknown.
17. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Juhui Arrested
Practitioner Ms. Yu Juhui was arrested by the police from the Xianggang Central Road Police Station in Qingdao City on October 21, 2007.
18. [Qian'an City, Hebei Province] Over Thirty Practitioners Arrested and Many Detained at the Qian'an City Detention Center
Over the past two months, more than thirty practitioners from Qian'an City were arrested. Among the arrested practitioners, Ms. Zhou Huizhong, Ms. Fan Huiying, Mr. Li Yankui, Mr. Zhao Minghua, Ms. Cui Qingru, Mr. Yuan Chunlin, Ms. Liang Xiuqin, Ms. Duan Guiping have been detained at the Qian'an City Detention Center. Some other practitioners have been taken to the Qian'an City Brainwashing Center.
19. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Practitioner Mr. Luofei Arrested
On October 1, 2007, when Assistant Professor Mr. Luo Fei of East China Jiaotong University, in his seventies, from Nanchang City was distributing truth-clarification materials, he was arrested by police from the Jiaoqiao Police Station in Xinjian County in Nanchang City. He was taken to a hospital for the mentally ill for torture.
Practitioner Mr. Luo Laiyang, 66, was arrested when clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to others on October 16, 2007. His whereabouts are unknown.
20. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Guo Lan'e Imprisoned
Practitioner Ms. Guo Lan'e was imprisoned in Zhengzhou City Police Department's Eighth Division on orders from Jinshui District Detention Center in Zhengshou City on October 15, 2007.
21. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Yan Baifang Arrested
Practitioner Ms. Yan Baifang, 57, is a retiree from Xi'an City Xijiao Smelting Factory. Police from the Xi'an City Police Department, Lianhu Police Department in Xi'an City, Jinlan Police Station and Taoyuan Police Station in Xi'an City arrested her on October 11, 2007. They also ransacked her home and stole her computer and printer. Ms. Yan Baifang's whereabouts are unknown.
22. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Ye Xiaofen Taken to the Hewan Forced Labor Camp
Practitioner Ms. Ye Xiaofen was taken to the Hewan Forced Labor Camp from the Jianghan District Brainwashing Center.
23. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xu Chuiliang and Ms. Su Wanlan Detained
Practitioners Mr. Xu Chuiliang and Ms. Su Wanlan are being detained and tortured at the Shantou City Detention Center.
24. [Inner Mongolia] Mr. Liu Peiyu and Ms. Jiang Guiqin Taken to a Brainwashing Center
On the morning of October 19, 2007, more than ten policemen from Dayangshu Forestry Police Station broke into the home of practitioners Mr. Liu Peiyu and Mrs. Jiang Guiqin. The police used the excuse of a follow-up visit authorized by the forced labor camp to take them by force to the Yakeshi City Wood Factory for a fifteen-day brainwashing session.

25. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Zuyi and Ms. Zheng Shufen Arrested
On October 15, 2007, when practitioner Ms. Zheng Shufen was watching a lecture by Teacher Li on video at practitioner Mr. Zhang Zuyi's home, police broke in and arrested them. They were taken to the Pengzhou City Detention Center.
26. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Aihua Arrested
At 10 a.m. on October 3, 2007, practitioner Ms. Wang Aihua, 68, was arrested with another senior practitioner while distributing truth-clarification materials in Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. They were taken to the Chepo Police Station for interrogation. At 10 p.m., they were taken to the Tianhe District Detention Center and detained for fifteen days.
27. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Update about the Torture of Ms. Wang Jiafang
Practitioners Assistant Professor Ms. Wang Jiangfang of the Mathematics Department at Guangzhou University, Guangzhou City and Mr. Zhuo Jiangshan and Mr. Zhou Jianyuan from Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province were arrested on September 23, 2007. Ms. Wang Jiafang was hospitalized due to torture.
28. [Guangan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Congyuan Taken to a Brainwashing Center
On October 21, 2007, practitioner Ms. Zhang Congyuan was arrested and taken to Huaying Brainwashing Center in Sichuan Province.
29. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Cai Manyi Taken to a Brainwashing Center
After being illegally detained at the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center for fifteen days by officials at the Jianhan District 610 Office in Wuhan City, practitioner Mr. Cai Manyi was secretly taken to Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center for more torture.
30. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Guo Zhongwei Arrested
On September 13, 2007, several policemen from Guidong County Police Department, Chenzhou City broke into practitioner Mr. Guo Zhongwei's rented apartment. They arrested Mr. Guo and stole his computer, printer, CD burner and Dafa materials. Mr. Guo's whereabouts are unknown.
31. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Guo Minggao's Home Ransacked Again
At around 9 a.m. on October 15, 2007, Deputy Executive of the Datang Township Guidong County, Chenzhou City led police officers to break into practitioner Mr. Guo Minggao's home again. They stole items worth a total of 10,000 yuan, including a television, computer, printer, CD burner, Dafa books, and Dafa materials. The police have made three failed attempts to capture Mr. Guo since then.
On May 16, 2006, police ransacked Mr. Guo's home, stealing his computer, printer, copier, Teacher Li's picture and Dafa materials worth 9,000 yuan. They also stole 1,000 yuan cash and 110 pounds of rice. At that time, Mr. Guo was detained by Guidong County Police Department for ten days.
