Why Is It "the Most Pressing Need to Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong"?

November 10, 2007 |   By Ouyang Fei

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wang Zhaojun, a standing member of the Political Consultative Commission in Anhui Province and an entrepreneur, published an open letter of nearly 40,000 words to China's paramount leader and premier, in which he expressed his views on the economic crises in the Chinese society. In this letter, Mr. Wang described that "it is the most pressing need to stop the persecution of Falun Gong." He also urged to "bring to justice those officials who decided to suppress Falun Gong, and to financially compensate all victimized Falun Gong practitioners." Mr. Wang thinks that "the persecution does not only target Falun Gong practitioners, but all Chinese."

Some argue that the Chinese media rarely reports about Falun Gong these days and question whether the persecution of Falun Gong has anything to do with the people of China. Of course it does! I may even argue that many problems in China's society are related to the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong. Why do I say that?

There are many reasons that resulted in the many crises faced by Chinese society today. In general, there are three root causes to these crises. From the spiritual perspective, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has no regard for life or morality and therefore suppresses Falun Gong. From the operational perspective, the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong shows its disregard for China's constitution or laws. From the perspective of China's system, the persecution of Falun Gong shows the lack of freedom of speech and religion. If these problems cannot be addressed at a fundamental level, there will be a tremendous challenge for Chinese society to prevail over the present crises.

And these problems are closely connected to the persecution of Falun Gong.

For example, let's look at the topic of the people's living situations, which the CCP has recently emphasized. No matter how many slogans the CCP shouts, the basic living standard for people is to treasure life. A government that does not care about life, that only cares about its own gains and ignores society's needs, cannot solve the people's problems. How can the CCP truly pay attention to people's quality of life when they are cracking down on people's beliefs, illegally arresting Falun Gong practitioners, putting people into brainwashing centers, torturing them in forced labor camps and prisons, even harvesting organs from the living for money?

For instance, the most important sign of a modern civilized society is its law system. In their propaganda, the CCP also continues to say that China is building a law system. But the CCP doesn't even follow the country's constitution. Thus a "law system" is meaningless. Freedom to belief is a right the constitution gives to civilians. The persecution of Falun Gong openly challenges the constitution. In order to crack down on Falun Gong, Jiang's gang totally ignored the legal system and they created special 610 offices, imitating the model from the Cultural Revolution. They are above the law. Without stopping the persecution of Falun Gong, it's impossible for China to go have a law system.

The CCP stated that they would improve human rights when they were trying to obtain the rights to host the Olympics. But, with the persecution of Falun Gong taking place, the human rights situation in China is worse then ever. The persecution turned from being high key to going underground, but that doesn't mean that the persecution has been reduced. On the contrary, Jiang's gang is hardening the persecution in order to save their situation. Now the CCP does not openly mention Falun Gong anymore, but that does not mean that the eight years of crimes can be forgotten.

In the meantime, it seems as though the Chinese economy has been "booming." On the surface, it is the result of the CCP colluding with western capitalists for their gains, at the expense of Chinese people's land, environment, resources, human rights, and the survival of generations. In fact, it is clearly a result of the CCP "exchanging human rights with economics." The CCP uses the economy as bait and thus covers up its abuse of human rights, especially the persecution of Falun Gong. The authorities cheat the Chinese people as well as the people of the world. They let people choose between money and human rights, so some people choose money and tacitly approve or avoid the issue of the persecution.

Every step the CCP takes, its first concern is to avoid criticism, and to avoid letting the public know the truth about the CCP's evil doings. The CCP is the real barrier to China moving forward. The solution for all these problems is to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. Stop the persecution and punish the criminals. This is China's best path to the future. The CCP will be brought down, not by Falun Gong but by the CCP itself.

The persecution of Falun Gong was designed to silence the entire nation. In his open letter, Mr. Wang Zhoujun spoke about things most people in China know, but dare not speak about publicly. Lies can not last forever. The truth will be revealed. That moment is coming, isn't it?
