Investigation Leads: Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhao Wenyu's Organs May Have Been Harvested, and Other Information

August 21, 2006 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Since the Chinese Communist Party's inhumane and criminal practice of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and then cremating their bodies was exposed, the Falun Dafa Association and Minghui website [Chinese version of Clearwisdom] founded "The Coalition To Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China" (CIPFG) on April 4, 2006. The coalition calls on people from all walks of life and any organization to form a united investigation group, and to gather possible leads for investigation of illegal organ harvesting. The following are several leads we obtained recently. We hope that people who have special knowledge about such activities will assist us continue to expose the inside stories of labor camps, prisons, and hospitals in China that are colluding with each other to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Together we are striving to end the persecution.

To date, this hospital has performed 82 kidney transplants, including: 52 kidney transplants from dead bodies, more than 10 transplants from live bodies, and several transplants from relatives. Shengli Hospital has implemented kidney transplant techniques that allow them to perform many kidney transplants.

From January 9 to 10, 2004 (around the Chinese New Year), they performed 10 kidney transplants and 1 liver transplant within 3 days. In addition, in October 2002, this hospital performed its first liver transplant. Then, they successfully performed liver transplants in 2003, 2004 and 2005 at that hospital.

Appendix: "Performs Six Kidney Transplants in One Day"

(http://www.100md.com dated June 20, 2002, Current Health Magazine, reporter Xu Xuelei, Zhang Huawei, Cai Yan)

"Reported from Dongying, Shengli: Shengli Oil Field Hospital has recently performed 6 kidney transplants within 24 hours. This is the first of such transplants at Dongying City in Shandong Province and Shengli Oil Field, as well as the most of such kidney transplants ever performed within 24 hours. It indicates that Shengli Hospital has reached a new level of competency.

On April 24, Kang Xinli, Deputy President of Shengli Hospital arranged for some medical staff from the urological department to pick up kidneys at an out-of-town location. At 12 a.m. on April 25, the medical staff performed the transplants immediately upon their return. Four kidney transplants were performed by 2 a.m. on April 26. Surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses participating in the operations were able to take a break while waiting for the results of the lymphocyte toxicity test. Two hours later, they returned to the operating theater and performed more transplants. By 2 p.m., on the afternoon of April 26, they had performed all the transplants. Those surgeons who operated for 30 hours straight didn't take a break, as they kept watch over the patients.

It is rumored that since September 1999, the time of the first kidney transplant at Shengli Hospital, surgeons have successfully performed 25 cases of kidney transplants.

Shengli Hospital has cooperated with staff from the Shengli Oil Plant 610 Office. They took five Falun Dafa practitioners including Jiang Haisong and Li Xiaodong to the Shengli Hospital Mental Diseases Division, and treated them as "mental patients."

Shengli Oil Plant also has an organ transplant center. Additional details need to be investigated.

Investigation Lead: Suspicion that Shijiazhuang City Dafa Practitioner Zhao Wenyu's Organs Were Harvested

On January 11, 2005, an article entitled, "Investigating the Death of Falun Gong Practitioner Zhao Wenyu" detailing how Zhao Wenyu was persecuted to death, was published on Clearwisdom. (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2005/1/11/56442.html)

Please see further details below :

"The two practitioners were arrested by police from Yuqiang Police Station. Other practitioners were able to reach them at around 10:55 a.m. that day. By 12:20 p.m., no one knew their whereabouts. Therefore, they must have been arrested between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Twenty-two days later, Yuqiang Police Station ordered Zhao's family to come to the station and identify Zhao's body. Zhao's family found that the left upper part of Zhao's forehead was bashed in flat, and the left side of her nose had signs of gore and appeared purple. In addition, from the chest down along her left breast, there was a line of stitches in the shape of a semicircle. The police claimed it was for heart massage when Zhao was receiving emergency treatment. "

At that time, the despicable act of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) harvesting Falun Gong practitioners' organs hadn't been exposed. Therefore, Ms. Zhao's family and other Dafa practitioners didn't connect it to any such atrocity. Most likely, from the above description, Zhao Wenyu had her organs harvested by the CCP. We hope that the international community will look into this matter. We also hope that the CIPFG carries out an investigation into this allegation.

Investigation Lead: Jinzhou 205 Hospital Kidney Transplants

A kidney transplant patient, a 61-year-old woman, is a resident of Kuancheng County in Chengde City. About noon on July 31, a doctor by the last name of Gao, who owns a private clinic at Xinhe Community Service Station in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, assisted her in getting a kidney transplant at the 205 Hospital in Jinzhou City. Li's operation was performed at 1:20 p.m., on August 1, 2006. She didn't return to the hospital until 5:10 p.m. It was rumored that Li's kidney came from an executed male prisoner. There was another patient who received a kidney at the same time. The patient is 38 years old and a resident of Xiabancheng in Chengde City. (It was rumored that the kidney came from a 24-year-old executed male prisoner.)

Investigation Lead: What's Behind the Organ Transplant Achievements at Zhengzhou No. 7 Hospital

Zhengzhou City No. 7 People's Hospital (a.k.a. Zhengzhou No. 7 Hospital) is located at Huaihai Road in Zhengzhou City. One person received a kidney around July 18, 2006.The transplant and recuperation period took over 20 days. The family said that this operation only cost between 70,000 to 80,000 yuan, which is quite a bit less than in the past. Furthermore, there were many patients on the waiting list, including many foreign people.

It is rumored that many organ transplants were performed at Zhengzhou City Xietai Hospital. There are many military police officers on guard at the entrance. The patients in that hospital cannot move around alone. They have to be accompanied by hospital staff at all times.

On July 25, 2006, an article entitled, "The Appeal of Heart and Kidney" was published in the Henan Daily. It publicized achievements at Zhengzhou No. 7 People's Hospital. The first Section was entitled, "Four Doctors Performed Over 1,000 Kidney Transplants." The introduction states that many patients are waiting to have kidney transplants performed in China. It also mentioned that there is a shortage of kidney donors. After that, the writer announced that in June 1999, a kidney transplant between mother and daughter was successfully performed. The article also announced that the hospital had successfully resolved the problem of kidney donors. The article continued that since the first kidney transplant at Zhengzhou No. 7 Hospital at Henan Province, it has performed over 1,200 kidney transplants. Surgeons at that hospital perform 113 kidney transplants annually, and therefore the hospital ranks as the number one transplant hospital in the province and number sixteen in the country. It is difficult to tell from the reports during what time period the 1,200 transplants were performed. The year of the 113 transplants was not provided in the article. Also, the percentage of donors from family members versus overall donors was not detailed. The entire article is not straightforward and is very ambiguous.

I assume that this report is meant to cover up what the CCP has done in terms of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. It appears that they wish to hide the crime behind a smoke screen.
