Japan: Falun Gong Practitioners from Osaka Hold Hunger Strike in Front of the Chinese Consulate Protesting the Chinese Communist Party’s Brutality (Photos)

July 26, 2006 |   By a practitioner from Japan

(Clearwisdom.net) To help stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, Falun Gong practitioners from eleven countries in Asia and three states in the US started a 24-hour hunger strike. Practitioners hope that the hunger strike will raise awareness so that more people will stand up to help stop the persecution. Practitioners from Osaka also joined the hunger strike. They held the activity and protested the persecution in front of the Chinese Consulate and called upon kind people to stand together to stop this persecution.

Hunger striking in the rain

Although it was raining, many practitioners attended the activity. At 11:00 a.m., practitioners made the hunger strike announcement, "We have started this hunger strike with great solemnity, not only for the fellow practitioners who were persecuted to death in Mainland China, but also to wake up the consciences of the Chinese people who have been deceived by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and to wake up the organizations and individuals that cooperate with the CCP for temporary profits." "People, please stand up. Together with Falun Gong practitioners, let us condemn the CCP brutality and stop the anti-human crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. Let us stop the CCP persecution of Falun Gong. People, please make this important and correct decision in your life."

Led by a Japanese police, representatives of the Falun Gong practitioners went to see the employees in the Chinese Consulate. A female official answered the doorbell. After practitioners told her why they were visiting, she answered immediately: "Nobody is at work today." Practitioners said that they had seen many people entering the consulate. The official didn’t respond. No matter what practitioners said, she just kept silent. Even the Japanese policeman felt strange—why would a government official lie?

An older woman—an "aunt"—participated in the hunger strike. This aunt and another practitioner have been protesting the persecution in front of the Chinese Consulate every day for seven years, no matter how bad the weather. Many Chinese who came to the Chinese Consulate learned the truth from them. They also helped many people to quit the CCP. One day a family that came to the Chinese Consulate gave the practitioners a letter, asking practitioners to help them to quit the party. This family had learned the truth from the aunt before, so they made the decision to quit the party. The aunt was very happy and said, "As long as sentient beings are saved, our suffering is worthwhile."

Many people showed respect for the practitioners holding the hunger strike in the rain. Citizens were shocked when they learned the truth about the persecution and encouraged them to persevere.
