(Clearwisdom.net) On July 14, 2006, before the G8 summit, Falun Gong practitioners in St. Petersburg participated in the Society Forum for the second time to expose the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) crimes. During the forum, practitioners unfurled a large banner worded, "Respected President Putin, please urge Hu Jintao to stop the persecution of Falun Gong," and distributed many flyers in Russian and English. Some practitioners demonstrated the exercises, and Dafa music was played in the stadium.

Practitioners protest the CCP’s persecution in the stadium where the forum was held

The practitioners’ activity became the focus of the media at the forum site. Many media outlets interviewed the practitioners. A Russian Communist Party member signed the petition form calling for an end to the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong after talking with a practitioner.

The society forum was held in a stadium far away from downtown. Many people, including local government officials and many media representatives, attended the forum. The mayor of St. Petersburg also attended the activity. Falun Gong practitioners asked the Mayor to transfer their open letter to President Putin, asking him to help stop the CCP’s persecution. She agreed to do so.

It was very hot on that day and the practitioners’ activity lasted for nearly eight hours.
