Xiuhua is a hairdresser. More than ten years ago, she moved from the Mazu Islands of Lianjiang County, Fujian Province, to Taiwan. Since then, she has been a member of our community. In five years of cultivation, she has endured every big tribulation according to the cultivation standard.

"When it is difficult to endure, try to endure it. When it looks impossible and is said to be impossible, give it a try and see if it is possible." (Zhuan Falun)

Before cultivation, Xiuhua suffered from lupus erythematosus, nephropathy, and hepatitis C. She also had a continuous fever and lost weight because of her autoimmune system disorder and went into the hospital three times in one month. She also was affected by nephropathy and hepatitis C, and needed long periods of care and treatment. She endured suffering beyond words.

Five years ago, when a headmaster introduced Falun Dafa to the community, Xiuhua joined in without hesitation. Her husband, however, was unhappy about it. As Teacher said in Zhuan Falun:

"Your exercises don't cause him any trouble, and you're giving your body a workout, which doesn't interfere with him--it's great. But as soon as you start to do the exercises he'll throw things and fight."

She looked inside herself again and again and told fellow practitioners, "It is because I do not conduct myself so well that my husband is angry." She was not resentful at all.

"When it is difficult to endure, try to endure it." (Zhuan Falun) After Xiuhua endured her husband's anger for one whole year, her husband suddenly awoke to the fact that, for one whole year, his wife had been in good health and she had not had to go to the hospital. So he turned right around and supported his wife's practice and sometimes told visitors about Dafa' wonderfulness. During this period, Xiuhua had a fever twice and had diarrhea a few times, but she knew this was the process of purifying her body and she would be free of pain as long as she endured it.

As a hairdresser, she has to stand to work. During the traditional Chinese New Year, she is especially busy because many customers come to her shop. This time two years ago, she suffered from such serious edema in her legs that she could neither sit nor stand comfortably all day nor walk upstairs and downstairs. More unfortunately, she found it difficult to relieve herself, and her chest was tight and made sleeping as usual difficult.

Her relatives and customers tried to persuade her to enter a hospital for treatment as soon as possible, but she comforted them, saying, "It does not matter. My karma is being eliminated. Following the elimination of lupus erythematosus, nephropathy is being eliminated now." She answered simply and straightforwardly, but her will was very steadfast.

She also told herself, "If I stopped work and went into a hospital for treatment, I would have admitted that was illness. A cultivator should not have illness. To have illness is an incorrect state." Because she had cultivated for three years and had a certain understanding of the Fa, she believed firmly in Dafa. Falun Dafa does not require that a cultivator should not see a doctor. A beginner can certainly go to a hospital if he or she has no confidence. But she chose to continue her work instead of going to hospital. She really practiced:

"When it is difficult to endure, try to endure it. When it looks impossible and is said to be impossible, give it a try and see if it is possible." (Zhuan Falun)

At 5:00 a.m., she still went to the exercise site to do the exercises on time and even crossed her swollen legs to meditate. About two weeks later, she pulled up her trouser legs, glowing with health and vigor and verified the miracle of Dafa to everyone. Her legs had already recovered, and the above-mentioned symptoms all vanished.

In the past five years of her cultivation, she has become more modest and amiable, the relationship between the couple has tended to be harmonious, and her work has gone well. Ordinarily, she and another fellow practitioner lead seven or eight illiterate older folks to read the Fa. After several years, the old ladies were able to read fluently. The peaceful and wonderful sight moves the passersby.

"Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" has become the core value of her life. In cultivation and Fa-rectification, she does not slack off for any reason. She is becoming more steadfast as time passes.
