On January 24, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Xiuzhen from Hongkou District, Shanghai City was arrested from her home by district 610 Office agents and detained for one month. Her daughter had a heart attack due to being suddenly threatened. The lawless officials are closely monitoring her activities by her door and storm into her home frequently.

Ms. Yan Xiuzhen, 57, had a late stage breast cancer operation. She was lucky enough to obtain the Fa in 1997, and Falun Dafa gave her a second life. After July 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal three times, and kept doing Falun Dafa exercises at the group practice site and telling people that Falun Dafa is good. She was arrested in 2000 and sentenced to three years of forced labor. In November 2005, she was arrested and detained for another month in the local police station.
