During Wen's visit to the Czech Republic, local followers of Falun Gong organized a few protests. The protests met with opposition from a group of Chinese organized by the Chinese Embassy in Prague, who first tried to persuade the Falun Gong practitioners that Wen would not pass near their banners. Then the embassy group offered them money (up to $1500 USD), if they left the spot. Finally, as the embassy group saw that they could not change the Falun Gong practitioners' determination to protest, and with Wen's car approaching, they surrounded the protesters and tore down their banners. They violently pushed the Falun Gong practitioners aside and took the banners away to the Hilton hotel where Wen and his delegation were staying. The police later recorded the entire story.

This was not the only incident. A similar one occurred on Friday at Prague Castle, where Chinese students attacked Falun Gong followers and broke the bars on which their banners were hanging.

On December 8, 2005 the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao arrived in the Czech Republic. It is the third country he has visited on his European tour. It was not his first visit: he was one of the communist officials who visited former Czechoslovakia in 1987, when it was under communist rule.

Czech Republic Prime Minister Jiri Paroubek welcomed Wen Jiabao in the garden of his government office. The ceremony was attended by many foreign journalists.

Falun Gong practitioners started at noon a 24-hour protest in front of the Chinese Embassy against the persecution of their friends by the communist regime in China. The Chinese Prime Minister, however, avoided them and arrived at the residence of the Czech Prime Minister through a side entrance, similar to other visits.

One subject of the meeting between the Prime Ministers should have been human rights and their violation in China. The Chief of Government Office, Mr. Ivan Prikryl, suggested that a paragraph in this regard should be placed in the common declaration, which Paroubek and Wen sign at the end of negotiations. Amnesty International and the international committee Olympic Watch both requested that Mr. Paroubek raise the question of human rights. According to them he should ask about the international pact about civil and political rights, which was signed by Beijing 7 years ago, but has not been put it into practice since then. Similar requests were addressed to the Czech Prime Minister by students of Karl's University, which would like to know when the incident on Tiananmen in 1989 will be clarified.

All major media in the Czech Republic reported about human rights abuses in China and about peaceful protests from Falun Gong practitioners. Czech television offered the footage they took in front of the embassy to be used for police during investigation of the Chinese students.

Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Yan Li from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province Tortured to Death in Police Custody

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yan Li from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province was tortured to death while in police custody at the Chifeng City Police Department, Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region.

On November 22, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Yan Li and Mr. Wang Xiaodong were arrested in an apartment building located at Yinhang Lane, Hada Street, Hongshan District, Chifeng City by State Security Agents from the Chifeng City Police Department. Mr. Yan Li went on hunger strike to protest the persecution after being arrested.

On December 5, 2005, Mr. Yan Li's family received a phone call indicating that Mr. Yan Li was arrested, and that the family would receive the notice in the mail within several days.

On December 7, 2005, Mr. Yan Li's family arrived Chifeng City, but found out that Mr. Yan Li had already died.

Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Li Wenjun on Hunger Strike for Over Four Months, Labor Camp Authorities Refuse to Release Him

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Wenjun from Jilin City is being held at the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai. He went on a hunger strike on July 13, 2005, which has lasted more than four months. His parents visited him many times at the labor camp and requested his release, but the labor camp authorities only made up excuses and refused to release him.

On November 3, 2005, Li Wenjun's parents again went to the Yinmahe Labor Camp and asked for Li Wenjun to be released. Guard Liu said, "We don't have the authority to release him. He is on a hunger strike, so we definitely can't let him go." He also told Li Wenjun's parents to "reform" their son. Li Wenjun's parents saw that his face was pallid and felt his hands were cold; he walked slowly.

One week later, on November 10, Li Wenjun's parents again went to the labor camp. Zhen Hailing, Director of the Administration Section said, "Why are you here again? This labor camp is operating under isolated administration; we don't allow outside visits." The parents asked to meet with Li Wenjun. Zhen Hailing said, "I don't have the right to answer that request; the head of the labor camp is not here today." Li Wenjun's parents couldn't find the head of the labor camp and left a letter for him asking the authorities to take Li Wenjun for a physical examination.

On November 22, Li Wenjun's parents went to the labor camp again and asked for his release. Guo, director of the labor camp claimed that Li Wenjun was not cooperating with the "reform" and the "administrative polices" (that are in fact persecution policies), so he would not be released. The authorities denied his parents' request to meet with him.

On November 28, Li Wenjun's parents went to the labor camp once more and spoke with Liu, another labor camp director, and asked to take Li Wenjun home. Liu said, "He is still holding a hunger strike and is not cooperating with our administration. We can only extend his term and cannot release him." Guard Zhen said, "We can't let you see him. Each time after you meet with him he becomes more determined; we are now working on him and he is behaving much better than before. He has been on a hunger strike for 180 days already. We extend his term by one day for each day of hunger strike. Now it's almost the end of the year, and we are discussing whether to extend his term any further. If he agrees to eat, we won't extend his sentence."

Li Wenjun's mother asked Liu if he had read the letter she wrote and Liu replied that he had. The mother asked, "Did you take Li Wenjun to have a physical examination?" Liu said no. Guard Zhen said, "We can't take him to an examination just because his family says so; if you want us to do that, you have to pay for it." Li Wenjun's mother said, "We already gave you 1,000 yuan, does that cover only a one-time examination? Liu told us they didn't take him to get an exam, but why do we have to pay more?" Liu replied that guard Zhen did not know about the payment. Li Wenjun's father said, "He is being held here; you should take responsibility for anything that happens to him. Why are you asking us for money?" Liu said, "We'll talk about it and get back to you."

After they discussed the issue, guard Zhen said to Li Wenjun's parents, "You can meet with him, but you are not allowed to mention Falun Gong. If you do, the meeting will be terminated immediately."

After Li Wenjun's parents went to the meeting room, they talked to Li Wenjun on the telephone across the glass partition. There were guards on both sides watching Li Wenjun and his parents. Li Wenjun's mother asked him, "Are you still on a hunger strike?" Li Wenjun answered, "Yes. They handcuff me and make me sit on a small stool each day from 5:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. I sleep very little." The guard snatched the phone from Li Wenjun's hand and spoke into the phone, "Li Wenjun threw himself against the floor, that's why we handcuffed him." Li Wenjun told his parents that he knew what to do and no one could manipulate him. He asked his parents not to worry about him.

Two days later, on November 30, Li Wenjun's parents went to the labor camp again and asked Guo, head of the labor camp to release Li Wenjun. Guo said, "That's impossible. There are conditions if we are to release him." His parents said, "Li Wenjun is being wronged. There is no way for us to appeal for him; all the other agencies tell us that because he is held at a labor camp, only the labor camp authorities can make the decision." They asked the labor camp not to handcuff Li Wenjun and not to force him to sit on a stool. Guo said, "We'll think about it. We'll give him three days [for him to accept "reform"]. If he persists, we have other ways to deal with him."

Right now, Li Wenjun is in a very difficult situation at the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp. He is extremely weak and emaciated. He can hardly speak and is being force-fed twice a day.

On March 16, 2004, officers from Weichang Police Station from the Changyi Police Department in Jilin City illegally arrested and savagely beat Li Wenjun. On April 16, 2004, the officer from that station fabricated charges and sentenced Li Wenjun to three years of forced labor. They sent him to the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp. During this period, Li Wenjun held several hunger strikes and was physically brutalized. Li Wenjun's parents went to almost all of the relevant government agencies in Jilin City to seek justice for their son, yet these agencies gave them the run-around and his parents had no way to appeal for Li Wenjun.

Anguished and worried, Li Wenjun's parents went to the labor camp more than 20 times to visit Li Wenjun. The guards didn't allow them to visit, claiming that Li Wenjun was not cooperating with the administration. After information about the persecution of Li Wenjun was exposed on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website, international organizations and the media paid attention to his plight. Many people, including Falun Gong practitioners living abroad, phoned the labor camp and confronted the guards for their crimes. Despite the pressure, the labor camp authorities still refuse to release Li Wenjun.

Yu Zhenghong's Family Exposes How She Was Persecuted to Death

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Zhou Chengsha and I live in Siqian Village, Songcun Town, Wendeng, Yantai City, Shandong Province. My wife, Yu Zhenghong, died as a result of the persecution on November 17, 2005.

Yu Zhenghong used to suffer from all kinds of illnesses. She was often sick for three months at a time. During such times she could not cook or work in the fields. I had to stay home to take care of her, cook and take care of our child. We spent all of our savings on various medical treatments, and as a result our life was very difficult.

After practicing Falun Gong in the summer of 1997, my wife became healthier each day. In time all of her previous illnesses were gone. She could do any amount of work she wanted, and could return to work in the factory. Life at home also improved. Previously, I insulted and beat people I didn't like. However, after practicing Falun Gong, I conducted myself according to the principles taught by our Teacher of Truth, Compassion, Forbearance, and this helped greatly to improve my moral character.

The good times didn't last though. After July 20, 1999, Falun Gong suffered a terrible wrong. One day in October 1999 around 10 p.m., Xing Shuwu and Yu Jincheng led a group of people from the Songcun Town Police Station to Wendeng. These people broke into our home and stole Master's picture and all of our Dafa materials. In addition, they illegally arrested my wife. They cuffed her to a chair in the freezing winter cold for 24 hours. I went to ask for her release, and they asked me to write a guarantee statement to promise that she would never practice Falun Gong again or appeal for Falun Gong. I wrote it against my better judgment, and I never saw my wife smile again.

In June 2000 my wife decided to go to Beijing to speak some words of justice for Master and Dafa. Li Yinglin and some other perpetrators at Wendeng Liaison Office in Beijing arrested her and took her back to Wendeng Custody Center, where she was beaten and insulted by the guards. She was detained there for 15 days and was then sent to Songcun Police Station in Wendeng. After dark, the village Party secretary forged a "guarantee statement" for her and then released her. On the next day, Xiang Hongping and other perpetrators tried to make my wife go to a brainwashing class held at the Songcun Movie Theatre. My wife firmly refused.

Later, during the fall harvest of the same year, Xiang Hongping and Yu Jincheng again came to my home and took my wife away. They held her at Wendeng Custody Center for more than half a month. Several days after she returned home, they arrested her again. She was held for more than ten days at the Songcun Movie Theatre. The authorities asked me to pay 3,000 yuan before they would release her. I borrowed 2,000 yuan and gave it to them, and then I took my wife home.

On the morning of June 1, 2001, (Children's Day in China) my wife told our child that she would do something special with him for the holiday after she got off work at noon. However, at noon someone brought her bike home and told me that more than ten 610 Office agents had arrested her on her way home from work. My child was supposed to enjoy this holiday, but he could not even see his mother. I felt terrible. My wife was taken to a brainwashing class held by Xiang Hongping, Bi Jianwei, Sang Hongbo and others. My wife was tortured until she had a relapse of her old illnesses. After I learned about this I went to the brainwashing class, and demanded that they release her. Their response was, "We are only in charge of detaining people; not releasing people. If anything happens to her, you can take your complaint to the government."

The Wendeng Bone Setting Hospital has been taking part in the persecution over the past six years. The lead doctor told the perpetrators that my wife was at risk and she would die soon if she was kept at the hospital. They then released her.

When I carried my wife out of the hospital on my back, she had but a breath of life left, but she was revived through practicing Falun Dafa. Before the October 1 holiday, she was just able to go to work again when a dozen agents from the Wendeng 610 Office and the police department again ransacked our house and took all of our Dafa books. My wife left home and lived in exile to avoid another arrest.

In September 2003 they found her and ransacked her temporary residence. They took her back to Wendeng Custody Center. She held a hunger strike. On the fourth day they took her to Wendeng Bone Setting Hospital to force-feed her. On the eighth day they sentenced her to two years of forced labor. She was sent to Jinan City, but she was too weak and the labor camp refused to take her. The labor camp in Zibo City also refused to take her. They had no choice but to let her go home. Still, they constantly harassed us at our home.

Around 6:30 a.m. on September 27, a dozen agents from Wendeng 610 Office, including Liu, Xiang Hongping and Sun Guohai, ransacked our home and took my wife. They sent her to Wendeng Detention Center. They used despicable means to attempt to force her to give up practicing Dafa, and she held a hunger strike. She was taken to the same hospital again on the 12th day to be force-fed. On the 14th day she was tortured to the brink of death and then transferred to Wendeng Central Hospital. The hospital staff asked to locate her family, but the 610 Office agents denied their request. After a medical exam, my wife was diagnosed with high blood pressure and severe heart disease. On the 15th day they were afraid she would die at Wendeng Detention Center, so they released her. My wife never recovered, and she passed away around 10 p.m. on November 17, 2005 (at the age of 43).

Jiang Daimin (secretary of Wendeng Party Committee), Wendeng Police Department 610 Office (currently called the Wendeng National Security Bureau), and police officers Xiang Hongping and Sun Guohai are undeniably responsible for the death of Yu Zhenghong. We, the family of Yu Zhenghong, will seek justice by holding the related persons legally responsible for their actions.

Exposing the Crimes Committed by the Officers of Division One of the Fushun City Police Department, and the Crimes Committed Inside the "Small White Building" (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Officers of Division One of the Fushun City Police Department of Liaoning Province, have been arresting and persecuting Falun Gong practitioners since July 20, 1999. The perpetrators of these crimes are personally responsible for the deaths of several Falun Gong practitioners, and have also disabled many more. The basement of the Criminal Police Brigade building, which is referred to as the "Small White Building" by local citizens, is where the officers of Division One torture practitioners to coerce their "confessions".

The Murderers of Division One Have Stained Their Hands With the Blood of Falun Gong Practitioners

I. Torturing Falun Gong Practitioners to Death

1. Ms. Li Ying was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Fushun City, Liaoning Province. She lived on Xiuyan Street, Wanghua District. On March 31, 2003, Ms. Li was arrested by police from Division One and suffered severe torture while officers interrogated her. She died after enduring three days of torture.

2. Ms. Wang Xiuxia, was a 42-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner in Qingyuan County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. On May 29, 2003, more than 20 police officers arrested her. On the evening of June 15, police notified Ms. Wang's family of her death. In 2005, while the officers of Division One brutalized several Dafa practitioners in their custody, they shamelessly shouted, "We beat Wang Xiuxia to death! Go ahead and try to sue us!"

3. Mr. Gai Chunlin was a Falun Dafa practitioner from Bawanggou Village, Nankouqian Town, Qingyuan County, Fushun City. On April 14, 2005, officers from Division One arrested him. On May 6, his family was notified of his death.

It is worth pointing out that although some practitioners passed away in other places, such as detention centers, after they were transferred from Division One, the police in Division One were the ones who were directly involved in arresting and torturing these practitioners. They are therefore directly responsible for these deaths.

II. Severely Injuring Practitioners

1. Mr. Dou Zhenyang and Mr. Wang Hongjun Suffered a Torture Method Called "Penetrating the Forest."

In 2000, Mr. Dou Zhenyang and Mr. Wang Hongjun were falsely charged with attempting to derail a train. The police used a torture method called "penetrating the forest" to torture them. They couldn't withstand the torture, so they confessed to the false charges, and were sentenced to life in prison.

2. Ms. Li Ying (a different practitioner from the Ms. Li Ying mentioned above) was illegally arrested from home in January 2001, just before the Chinese New Year. The police tortured her and caused nerve atrophy on her right arm. She can no longer take care of herself. Later, she was secretly sentenced to 11 years in prison and sent to Dabei Prison. Initially, Dabei Prison refused to accept Ms. Li. After the police officers of Fushun City bribed the prison authorities, they admitted her to the prison, where she has been held to this day.

3. In 2002, Ms. Sun Yongli was arrested along with several other practitioners, including Ms. Wang Xiaoyan, Yan Jun, Wang Shengtao, Zhai Xu, Meng Hua and Zou Shengrong (who was tortured to death). The officers of Division One tortured them ruthlessly. As a result, both of Sun Yongli's legs were disabled, and she is no longer able to walk. She can no longer take care of herself, but the officers of Division One still sent her to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

4. Police officers from Division One arrested Mr. Wang Youcai during a mass arrest in March 2003. They beat his legs so violently that the flesh and bones were separated. His legs were severely swollen. The police brazenly shouted in front of other arrested practitioners, "We are the ones who crippled Wang Youcai."

5. Mr. Zhang Jinsheng is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qingyuan County, Fushun City. In April 200, he was arrested and the police officers of Division One tortured him in an attempt to force him to confess to the false charge of "conspiring with hostile overseas forces." Mr. Zhang Jinsheng's skull was fractured as a result of the torture he endured.

6. Ms. Lu Yan was arrested on March 15, 2005. Four policemen took turns beating her. They put handcuffs and shackles on her and hung her up to beat her, used high-voltage electric batons to shock her, pulled out her hair and stretched her legs sideways to the extreme points until she lost consciousness. Her face was distorted, swollen and black and blue all over. She was partially paralyzed and couldn't move her body. Later, Lu Yan was sentenced to imprisonment.

7. Mr. Zhou Shuyou lived in Beisanjia Township, Qingyuan County. He used to work at the Cangshi Train Station. On the evening of March 21, 2005 officers Guan Yong and Chen Daqing of Division One arrested Mr. Zhou and interrogated him on the evening of April 6. During the interrogation, Guan Yong and Zhang Tao beat him and shocked him with electric batons. Later Guan Yong and other policemen forcefully yanked Mr. Zhou's legs apart and struck him in the genitals. Mr. Zhou's testicle was swollen from the beating, and he was unable to walk. He is still suffering abdominal pain and cannot stand up straight. He is now detained at the Fushun Forced Labor Camp, serving a three-year term.

8. On April 14, 2005, police officers from Division One, working in collusion with officers from the Qingyuan County Police Department, went to Nankouqian Town, Qingyuan County, and arrested 56 Falun Dafa practitioners. The arrested practitioners were interrogated individually, one at a time. Everyone was savagely beaten; even the women, children and elderly practitioners were not spared. Oftentimes, they beat the practitioner being interrogated to the point of unconsciousness, and then they'd douse the practitioner with cold water to revive him or her. A female practitioner fainted on the spot during interrogation. She was immediately sent to the emergency room. She might have died without the emergency medical treatment. Currently, this practitioner is still unable to take care of herself. Police officer Guan Yong beat practitioner Ma Xijun and tortured him with electric shocks until he passed out. For ten days, Ma Xijun suffered nausea and vomited a lot; he couldn't walk and wasn't mentally alert, but his family wasn't notified and allowed to take him home until he was on the verge of death.

9. Mr. Zhang Huiqiang is a senior engineer in the instrument division at the Ethylene Chemical Corporation in Fushun City. On May 23, 2002, police from Division One arrested him at work and used torture to extort a confession from him. The perpetrators burned his hands with a lighter, used the hot metal part of the lighter to burn his nipples, and ripped his fingernails out. Later, he was sentenced to six years of imprisonment in Dabei Prison.

10. The police officers of Division One hammered bamboo sticks under Ms. Miao Shuqing's fingernails and pierced two of her fingers with toothpicks.

III. Illegal Arrests, Cruel Tortures, Countless Persecution Cases

The number of persecution cases committed against Falun Gong practitioners by the officers of Division One is incalculable. Among them are illegal arrests, torture, and illegal sentences to labor camps and prison. Below are more examples of the crimes committed by the police officers of Division One. Each case is soaked with the blood and tears of Falun Gong practitioners and their loved ones.

1. On December 16, 2000, more than 60 Falun Dafa practitioners were sharing their cultivation experiences at a practitioner's home. More than 150 police officers besieged and arrested these practitioners, charging them with illegal assembly and illegally practicing the Falun Gong exercises. The practitioners were incarcerated in forced labor camps and detention centers, and subjected to persecution. Among these practitioners were Zheng Hong, Ren Yi, Jiang Guofang, Ma Hongxia, Sun Yongsheng, Ma Huaidong, Huang Gang, Lu Hong, Hou Jun, Hu Guojiang, Gao Jian, Qi Shaowen, Liu Helun and others. Huang Gang and Hu Guojian suffered cruel torture at the hands of the officers of Division One, and were later sentenced to lengthy terms.

2. On December 24, 2001, a truth clarification materials production site in Xinhua District, Fushun City was destroyed. Practitioners suffered large losses, including computer equipment and materials promoting Falun Dafa. One practitioner was arrested. Officers from Division One coerced a confession from him by applying ruthless torture methods.

3. Mr. Wei Zaixin was a senior engineer at the Science and Technology Advancement College of Fushun City. On February 7, 2002, he was arrested and beaten by police officers from Division One, and then sent to the "Strictly Disciplined" division at the Fushun Forced Labor Camp. A few months later, Mr. Wei was tortured to death.

4. On May 13, 2002, officers from Division One went to Yongling Police Station to beat practitioner Wang Xiaoming and take him away. They kept beating him savagely as they dragged him from the second floor to the first floor. Mr. Wang was covered in bruises and other injuries. Then the Division One officers took him to the Fushun Police Department and tortured him.

5. On June 28, 2002, Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Guangying of Jiangjun District, Fushun City was arrested by the officers of Division One. At that time, he had been living on the streets for three and half months to avoid persecution. He was sentenced to three years forced labor and is now incarcerated at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang.

6. On the evening of July 6, 2002, police officers from Division One discovered practitioner Liu Zhange's residence and took him away. They also confiscated his personal computer. Some of them hid in the vicinity of Mr. Liu's residence, hoping to arrest more Dafa practitioners. They snared and arrested practitioner Zhang, who came from another city. Division One officers tortured both practitioners.

7. Between August and late September 2002, the police officers of Division One arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Ma Huaidong and Lu Renqing while they were clarifying the truth to people, and subjected them to brutal torture. Immediately after that, Falun Dafa practitioners Zhao Yuhong, Ma Hongxia and Guan Juying were in turn arrested and tortured. In early October, practitioners Sun Yongsheng, Ms. Jia Niazhi, Ms. Qu Cailing, Ms. Jin Shunnu, Ms. Hou Xiaohui, Ms. Wu Xiaoyan, Gao Guirong, Xing Yurong, Ms. Miao Shuqing, Ms. Dai Yulan, Song Wenliang, Wang Chengtao, Ms. Sun Qian, and Dong Qingfei were arrested in succession. All of them were sentenced to lengthy terms in July 2003. Later, practitioners Ms. Wu Yanbo, Ms. Zhou Yuzhi, Zhou Kan and other practitioners were arrested and suffered brutal torture at the hands of Division One officers.

8. In September 2002, police from Division One arrested Hu Wei, a Fudan University graduate who was living in his relative's house in Fushun City. Officers coerced a confession from him through torture, and confiscated his cell phone, watch, credit cards and cash. In late September 2002 Hu Wei was sentenced to forced labor at the Fushun Forced Labor Camp.

9. On March 1, 2003, Division One officers destroyed a Dafa materials production site in Gebu District, Fushun City. Police arrested Ms. Hou Xiaohui and several other practitioners. On March 2, another materials production site in Wanghua District was ransacked. The police confiscated an all-in-one printer/copier/scanner, two more photocopiers, and other miscellaneous equipment and paper, worth in excess of 50,000 yuan.

10. Between March 18 and March 28, 2003 police from Division One colluded with local police officer Xiao Gang and others from the Hongtoushan Police Station to carry out mass arrests of practitioners in a copper mine in the Hongtoushan region. Practitioners Ms. Zhang Huamei, Ms. Liang Suyun, Liang Junhua, Yang Shuxian, Ms. Cao Yanzhen, Liu Xiangyu, Wang Shuyun, Aunt Zou, Ms. Gao Xiuqin, Du Jinfeng, Zhou Hongqin, Ms. Li Shuqin and her daughter were arrested in succession. Among these practitioners, Ms. Zhang Huamei had over 7,000 yuan taken away from her family by the police and she was beaten to the extent that she couldn't stand up.

11. In May 2003, police from Division One arrested several Falun Dafa practitioners in Qingyuan County with the assistance of unscrupulous collaborators. The practitioners arrested included Li Wensong and his wife Ms. Wei Minghua, Zhou Yuren, Zhou Fulong, Zhou Yuyi and his wife and daughter Ms. Zhou Meina, Ms. Zhou Yuying, Zhao Liankai, Ms. Jiang Defang, Ms. Wang Guihua, Wang Lan, Yan Yuezeng and his wife, and Liu Jinping. Ms. Wei Minghua was a teacher in the First Middle School of Qingyuan County. The police beat her to the ground and dragged her by her legs to a police van with her head scraping the ground in front of all the teachers and students. As for practitioner Li Wensong, the police carried him to the van from the sixth floor.

12. Yang Boliang is a 46-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Hongtoushan Town (also known as Hongtoushan Mine). He was a taxi-tricycle driver. On August 18, 2004, he was trapped and arrested. Hao Jianguang, the director of Division One, Section Chief Liu, police officers Guan Yong and Zhang Bin and others beat him brutally. Later, he was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Now Mr. Yang is detained at the Fushun Forced Labor Camp.

13. Police officers from Division One arrested practitioners Zhao Yunshan and Ms. Dong Linlin on September 18, 2004. Zhao Yunshan was sentenced to forced labor around October 1, and is now incarcerated at the Fushun Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Dong Linlin was also sentenced to forced labor and was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

14. In October 2004, Hao Jianguang of Division One led more than ten officers to the Lishi Police Station to torture practitioner Yuan Peng. They also dispatched police to hide in the vicinity of the Lishi Development District, in an attempt to arrest more practitioners.

15. In late November 2004, police officers from Division One went to Yongling Town, Xinbin County, Fushun City to extort money from practitioners Li Hong and Han Junhui, who sent text messages about Falun Gong using their cell phones. The police extorted 4,000 and 5,000 yuan from Li Hong and Han Junhui, respectively.

16. At 8:00 p.m. on January 12, 2005 more than a dozen police officers from Division One pried open a security door to arrest practitioners Lin Bo and Ms. Wang Guoying. They confiscated materials worth more than 100,000 yuan. Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Cheng Min (in her 20's) and her husband, who is not a practitioner, were arrested around the same time. In June 2005, Lin Bo and Wang Guoying were sentenced to eight years and nine years of imprisonment, respectively. Wang Guoying's husband is practitioner Dou Zhenyang, who was falsely charged for "attempting to derail a train," and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Their son is now being cared for by his grandparents. They lead a very difficult life.

17. At 5:00 p.m. on March 15, 2005, more than ten police officers from Division One broke into the residence of a practitioner in Nankouqian Town, Qingyuan County and forcibly took Ms. Gai Xiuqin and Lu Guanglin, Ms. Lin Guilan, Lu Yan, and Ms. Chen Guifeng to Division One headquarters. They confiscated all the equipment and paper, and took 20,000 yuan in cash by force. On March 22, Lu Guanglin was sent to the First Detention Center of Fushun City. The other four practitioners were sent to the Second Detention Center of Fushun City. Lu Yan was sentenced to prison after he was detained for one month.

18. On March 19, 2005, Ms. Pei Dongzhi and Ms. Pei Donghua, two sisters from Nanzamu, were arrested at home by local police and officers from Division One. They were beaten severely on the spot. The perpetrators ransacked their home and took 600 yuan from their mother. During this round of arrests, practitioners Ms. Li Shumei and Ms. Zhou were also arrested.

19. At 9:00 p.m. on March 24, 2005, officers from Division One, along with officers from the Yaozhan Police Station in Qingyuan County and state security agents, arrested Mr. Liu Zaijun and another practitioner in the Xiazhaizhi region.

20. At 7:30 p.m. on March 28, 2005, four policemen from Division One arrested Ms. Gai Shurong and her daughter at Yantonggou Village, Tukouzi Township, Qingyuan County. Later, they were released after their family paid 500 yuan. Additionally, two more elderly female practitioners were arrested in Tukouzi Township.

21. Between April 1 and April 3, 2005, police destroyed two Dafa materials production sites in Wanghua District, Fushun City. Practitioner Ms. Liu Yumei was arrested, and the police took away large quantities of equipment.

22. On May 25, 2005, one hour after Ms. Jiang Jie, who had left home to avoid persecution, returned home, dozens of police officers from Division One besieged her home. They knocked on the door and attempted to pry the door open. Now Jiang Jie's entire family are afraid to go back to their own home. Their children were left unattended and couldn't go to school. Before this arrest attempt, the police arrested Jiang Jie's husband twice because they couldn't find Jiang Jie. Jiang Jie's husband was detained for 20 days and two days, respectively, during these two arrests.

23. On June 17, 2005, Captain Hao and Captain Liu from Division One ordered officer Jiang of the State Security Brigade of Shuncheng District to go to the Heping School to arrest practitioner Zhao Jifan, a teacher at the school. The police ransacked Zhao Jifan's home without showing any legal documents. Zhao Jifan is currently being held in the Fushun Detention Center.

Practitioner Cui Shimin from Tieling County, Liaoning Province Persecuted, Jailed, and Denied Medical Treatment

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Cui Shimin, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Dadianzi Town, Tieling County, Liaoning Province, went to Beijing several times to appeal for justice for Falun Gong after the persecution began in 1999. He endured persecution by both the city and county police departments and eventually was fired from his job and forced into homelessness with his wife. They continued to clarify the truth to the public while the county police continued to persecute them.

At the end of 2004, the county office sent a notification stating that Mr. Cui would be paid retroactively for his past wages so long as he came back to the county. So Mr. and Mrs. Cui went home and they were paid two months worth of wages and were told that the balance would be paid on May 1, 2005.

However, in February 2005, officers from the county police department forcefully arrested Mr. Cui. The officers were so violent that they threw him to the ground, injuring his back as he held onto the home heating radiator while resisting the arrest. The injury was so severe that that even now he cannot walk with his back straight. Mr. Cui was illegally detained in the county forced labor camp near Qilitun after his arrest.

Recently, the authorities again sent a notification to have Mrs. Cui pay 10,000 yuan for her husband's medical expenses. Mrs. Cui didn't comply with this unreasonable demand, so the officers from the county police arrested her and later let her go after extorting 10,000 yuan from them. Mr. Cui's injury still didn't get proper medical attention.

According to analysis, it was likely that the police department had wiretapped or installed a video monitoring device in Mr. Cui's home, because the authorities seemed to know all the details about their activities at home including their offering incense to Teacher as a gesture of respect during the Chinese New Year. There is no other way the police could have known these things because the couple didn't have visitors on those days and there were no police monitoring activities around their house at that time.

Furthermore, the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Dadianzi Town is still very serious. Many practitioners have difficulty obtaining current Dafa materials and they are afraid to meet up with each other because many of them are being watched by the authorities.

Torture Methods at the Ping'antai Forced Labor Camp in Gansu Province, Part 1 (Re-enactment Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, the Ping'antai Forced Labor Camp has been one of the main places where Dafa practitioners in Gansu Province are persecuted. Several hundred practitioners were held there. The guards and inmates, many of whom are drug addicts, used various barbarous methods to persecute the practitioners. They used sleep deprivation, brainwashing, beating, framing, slander and sentence-extensions, etc.

In late April 2003, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) carried out another round of persecution, code named "Spring Thunder." In response to orders from the CCP, several officials, Deng Desheng, head of Division 3, political head Xu Wanjun who was later promoted to the head of Division 6 and was subsequently fired, group head Lian Jincai, guard Han Ximing, currently the political head of Group 16 in Division 6 - selected six brawny drug addicts. They were to torture Falun Gong practitioners Yang Lichuang, Yang Xiaochuan and Dong Xuezhou. Group head Lian Jincai and Han Ximing ordered Bai Yanhu, Sun Weimin, Guo Jianxin and a few others to beat Dong Xuezhou for three days, during which time people heard heart-wrenching screams.

On the afternoon of the third day, Dong Xuezhou's screams were heard in the orchard by the camp's North District dorm building. Many people who were digging holes to plant trees stopped working and tried to find out what was happening. Division head Deng Desheng made a phone call and said, "Group head Han, what's going on? We can hear him from all the way over here. That will have a negative impact on the reputation of our labor camp! Why don't you gag him?"

Li Wenhui, a guard at Division Six often says, "I have lots of ways to 'fix' disobedient Falun Gong practitioners. I can put a few articles by Falun Gong's teacher under your bed. Then I'll claim you are hiding Falun Gong articles and extend your sentence by six months. I can tie you up and hang you for ten minutes so you'll feel you are better off dead."

"Hanging:" the upper body is bent forward at a 90 degree angle with the legs, the practitioner's arms are raised straight up and are parallel to his legs, and his legs are stretched as straight as possible. The practitioner will tremble from exhaustion after about ten minutes, and his arms and legs are tired and sore.

This is an extremely cruel torture. According to the drug addicts, no one can last ten minutes while being tortured this way. The practitioner's arms are pulled behind him. His hands are tied together so that the inside of his wrists are turned away from the body, and he is then hung by a pair of handcuffs. The pain is so excruciating that the practitioner usually cannot move his arms after a few minutes and will not recover until after a few months. Some practitioners have become disabled through this torture.

"Holding up a nail" - Two practitioners are forced to bow toward each other and hold up a nail or a chopstick between their foreheads. If they drop the nail, the perpetrators beat and kick them. After a few minutes, the nail will cause bleeding and pain.

"Knocking the anklebone" - The persecutors strike the practitioner's anklebone with brutal force, which causes great pain and swelling of the ankle. Usually, the practitioner cannot walk normally for a few days after this torture.

"Carrying a sword on one's back" - This torture is used on practitioners who do not complete their work assignments. One hand comes down from the shoulder and the other hand comes up. The hands meet halfway behind the back. The jailers handcuff the practitioner and whip the practitioner's buttocks with tree branches and keep him handcuffed in this painful position. When the time to complete the day's work approaches, these evildoers scream at the practitioners to keep up or they kick the practitioners.

Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Jianmei in Shandong Province Recalls the Persecution She Suffered

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Jianmei is a Falun Gong practitioners in Jinan City, Shandong Province who has suffered severe persecution. In the past few years since the persecution started, Jianmei was arrested twice, and sentenced to forced labor each time. She has survived severe tortures.

Li Jianmei's First Arrest

On October 25, 2000 Jianmei was arrested for the first time. She was tricked into going to the local police station, not knowing the real reason behind it. Afterwards she was detained in a forced labor camp. At 3:00 a.m. the next morning, she practiced the exercises, but was discovered by the guards, who incited more than twenty criminals to torture her. They grabbed her hair, kicked and beat her. They also tied her hands and feet separately onto a queen-sized bed. They tied a rope around her waist and tied the other end of the rope onto the opposite bed. Then an inmate held onto the rope tightly and hung his entire body on it. Jianmei felt a rush of severe pain as if all the organs inside her body were being pulled out. She let out a loud cry and then fainted. While unconscious, she seemed to hear someone say she was faking. After that, someone poured two basins of cold water on her face. This kind of torture lasted for the entire evening. The guards did not stop torturing her until 6:30 a.m.

Jianmei was very weak by this time. Police officer Zhao Jie then ordered Jianmei to work. Jianmei firmly refused and also protested the brutal persecution. Police officers Zhao Jie and Wang Ning then locked Jianmei in a room where they shocked her with two large electric batons. They shocked her hands, face and the back of her head. When they shocked Ms. Li's head, she fainted immediately. After she woke up, Zhao and Wang ordered her to write the guarantee statement, but Jianmei firmly refused.

With the brutal tortures to come and failing to study the Fa well, she was not fully aware of the hoodlum government's evil nature, and allowed herself to once be "reformed" by the vicious forces. Afterward she regained her senses, wrote a solemn statement, and started cultivating in Dafa once again. Nevertheless, due to the lack of Fa study during that period of time, Jianmei had misunderstandings of Dafa. She was then unable to walk on the righteous path with righteous thoughts. Because of this, she felt mentally upset. After she was released from the labor camp, she studied the Fa diligently and also exchanged her understanding of the Fa with fellow practitioners, and suddenly became clear-minded. From then on, Jianmei returned to the cultivation path with righteous thoughts and deeds.

Li Jianmei was Arrested a Second Time

One day in July 2003, chief of police Li from the Huanyin District and persons from the neighborhood committee in the Jinan Military Region Lumber Plant suddenly arrived and searched Jianmei's residence. They arrested her and locked her up at the Huanyin District Police Station. Jianmei shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is the righteous law!" "Falun Dafa is good!" In the local police station, policeman Fang Hua and four other officers interrogated her. Jianmei firmly refused to cooperate. They then held her down and handcuffed her hands behind her back. Jianmei's daughter was extremely sorrowful and threw herself into the fray to rescue her mother, but the police s kicked her and she was thrown a distance away. That evening, the daughter and mother were detained together by the local police station personnel. Furthermore, the police claimed that the child was not obedient. They would not let her sleep on the sofa. She had to sleep on the ground.

The next day Jianmei was transferred to the Liu Changshan Local Police Station where the officials subjected her to a humiliating body search. While resisting the search, Jianmei consistently clarified the truth to the police. The police, however, instead of listening to her, hit her face whenever she opened her mouth. But Jianmei did not stop. Police Li forced Jianmei to take off her shoes. She was handcuffed to a window, bare-footed, the entire evening. The next morning when the police asked Jianmei if she would continue practicing Falun Gong she firmly replied, "Of course!" From that day on Jianmei held a hunger strike. On the sixth day, the police began to force-feed her. Jianmei continued sending forth righteous thoughts and studying the Fa.

On August 8, 2003, Jianmei was imprisoned for the second time in the Shandong Province First Women's Forced Labor Camp (also called Jiangshui Quan Women's Labor Camp). Police officers Niu Xuelian and Zhao Jieba locked her in a room inside the workshop. She continuously shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! The will of heaven does not tolerate damaging Dafa!" Her righteous behavior inspired all the other Falun Gong practitioners in the workshop. In order to resist the persecution together, all the practitioners in the entire workshop held a strike. This action enormously frightened guards Niu Xuelian and Zhao Jie from Team Five. From then on they dared not continue slave labor in the basement. That workshop was henceforth turned into a warehouse.

Jianmei was once locked inside a broadcasting studio while they were broadcasting an anti-Falun Gong program. Evildoers Zhang Hong and Rong Fengju had just left the room. Jianmei grabbed this opportunity, instantaneously took up the microphone and loudly announced, "The program just broadcast now was all lies and fabrications. Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa! Falun Dafa is good! Do not believe the lies. Walk well on the Fa-rectification path."

The entire labor camp could hear her. The genuine practitioners were enormously inspired. Simultaneously it also frightened the evil forces. Then the Team Five broadcast studio closed.

Letting Go of the Attachment to Life and Death - Walking on the Righteous Path with Righteous Thoughts

In vicious places like labor camps it is extremely difficult to continue practicing Falun Gong exercises. Many practitioners suffered severe torture merely for practicing Falun Gong exercises. The same was true with Li Jianmei. She also suffered all kinds of brutal tortures for practicing the exercises.

On February 18, 2004, guard Wang Shuzhen came to Team Five. Many steadfast practitioners in this camp had suffered from Wang's savage tortures. Jianmei was no exception. To stop Jianmei from practicing the exercises, Wang locked Jianmei inside an activity room managed by inmates. Because Jianmei practiced the exercises, inmate Lin Qingqing reported her many times. Hence, Wang locked Jianmei inside the "strictly controlled" room and forced Jianmei and other practitioners who refused to be "reformed" to sit on small stools. Since Jianmei refused to cooperate with the vicious forces she was hit every day. Finally the vicious people noticed that this method was not working with Jianmei. On March 31, 2004 they tied Jianmei onto a death bed for 52 days. Wang frequently hit and scolded Jianmei during those days. Once, Wang grabbed Jianmei's hair and threateningly said, "Today I'll let you see whether it is your master's law body who is present, or it is I who is present!"

After 52 days, guards found that this was not working either. They then attempted to force Jianmei to practice marching in formation. Once again Jianmei refused. Wang then tied Jianmei up again. She also forced Jianmei to stay motionless. A little bit of movement would get Jianmei beaten. The inmate Zhang Hongyan who was responsible for supervising Jianmei also put a urine soaked towel into Jianmei's mouth. Seeing that Jianmei was till not reformed, Wang then ordered the prisoners who were guarding Jianmei not to give Jianmei any food or water, and forbid her to get up and use the restroom. Jianmei's hands and feet were bound to the bed. On August 6, Jianmei returned to the prison cell.

Dafa practitioners were forced to wear humiliating signs in the camp. Jianmei firmly refused to wear those signs, and because of this, the guards beat her cruelly several times. One time when Jianmei refused to wear a prisoner's sign, Dai Guihua reported her. Wang once again ordered that Jianmei be tied up and locked up in confinement one more time. During that whole time Jianmei was not given any food. They taped her mouth shut and beat and insulted her constantly. Due to the long-term torture, Jianmei suffered from serious physical injuries. During 2005 Chinese New Year, Jianmei spit up blood for nine days in a row. Wang even accelerated Jianmei's persecution. One time Wang told a male guard to cuff Jianmei's hands so tight that Jianmei's wrists were bleeding. Jianmei pointed out that this behavior was inhumane in nature. The male guard used a set of handcuffs to ruthlessly knock her on her head. The pain made her unable to speak.

By July 2005, Jianmei had become emaciated from these tortures. Her whole body started to have measle-like spots. The guards were afraid. Hence, on July 4, 2005, Jianmei came out from this living hell, the Jiangshui Women's Forced Labor Camp. After studying the Fa and practicing the exercises, Jianmei returned to health quickly. She now has rosy and glowing cheeks.

Ovarian Cancer Survivor: "Falun Dafa Saved My Life"

(Clearwisdom.net) I'm a Dafa practitioner from Jilin City. It was Falun Dafa that rescued me from death and gave me a new life.

I lived in Jilin City, and was fortunate enough to begin Falun Dafa practice a few years ago when I worked in Dalian City. Soon thereafter Dafa was persecuted. Because I didn't have deep understanding of the Fa, I stopped the practice.

In 2002 I returned to Jilin, not feeling well. Later, my health deteriorated and I had no strength. I had a physical examination in the Jilin City Central Hospital and was found to suffer from ovarian cancer that had already metastasized. The doctor who performed my surgery told my sister that my time to live could be counted by days. Six months was a pass for me.

I cannot describe the sadness I felt when I heard this news. I didn't want to die, for I was only around 40 years old, which is usually the best time of one's life, and I also had a child who was still in school. How could I just leave this world in such a state?

I put all my efforts into the finding medicines everywhere. I thus took a lot of folk prescriptions, such as walnut shells. But in 2003 I suffered another misfortune. The state of my health suddenly deteriorated. Ascitic fluid made my abdomen swollen so that I couldn't move and it was hard to breathe. I really couldn't endure the suffering from the disease, and thought of suicide. I cut my wrist. Since I was severely dehydrated, I didn't lose much blood. My family found me and sent me to the hospital emergency room.

Later, I was sent to the Changchun Cancer Hospital for chemotherapy. After three months of treatment I stopped because I could no longer afford to pay for it. I returned home, waiting for the last moment of my life. My sister prepared a shroud for me.

Right at the moment between life and death I suddenly remembered the scene from being together with Falun Gong practitioners in Dalian. I realized that I wanted to practice Falun Gong! I was already at the stage where I couldn't take care of myself, thus I could only read Zhuan Falun every day. After I read through Zhuan Falun several times, a miracle happened! I could sit up! This was against all expectations! Later, my appetite gradually increased. Slowly, I could do the exercises. I had survived!

It was three years and three months ago that I started to study the Fa again and do the exercises. I recovered completely, and am now just like a normal person. My weight increased from 74 jin (82 lb.) to 118 jin (130 lb.). I can now take complete care of myself. I greatly appreciate Dafa! I greatly appreciate our great and merciful Master. Without Master's arduous salvation and the dissemination of Dafa, I would no longer exist. I send out my voice from the bottom of my heart, "Falun Dafa is grand! Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa!"

We Are Not Cultivating to Be "Heroes"

(Clearwisdom.net) After reading the announcement about the Second Mainland China Internet Experience Sharing Conference, I thought, "I don't have much to write about from the past few years, so I won't submit anything."

After several days, I realized the following: wasn't I being selfish to think that way? By only thinking of myself and cultivating myself, I was being responsible for neither Dafa nor fellow practitioners. I learned lessons and uncovered shortcomings in the past. I could write them down so that others will not make the same mistakes. Plus, I could also write down some of my understandings and share them with others. So, I decided to start with the topic, "We are not cultivating to be heroes."

One evening two days ago, my wife asked for a divorce. She was afraid that I might be arrested for "clarifying the truth". She no longer wanted to continue such a worrying life with me, and she was unable to change my determination to practice Dafa and clarify the truth. So, she chose to divorce. I thought about clarifying the truth to convince her, but did not know where to start. So I agreed to the divorce.

The next day, however, I realized that it was wrong for things to go that way. Would Teacher arrange a path of divorce for me? In "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York," Teacher said,

"And you are allowed to cultivate while conforming to ordinary people's way of life to the greatest extent. As long as Master says something is okay, you can just go ahead and follow ordinary people's way of doing it, because you are meant to walk your path in that way, and human beings are meant to be saved in that way."

I came to understand that divorce, being arrested, or being persecuted are not correct cultivation states. It must be the old forces' arrangements. The old forces always take advantage of our loopholes and put us in undesirable situations, with the excuse of aiding our personal cultivation. They have created tribulations for us, brought persecution to us, and interfered with the Fa-rectification. They are damaging Dafa disciples' cultivation path - something unprecedented in history - and attempting to change our path arranged by Teacher. However, we are not here to take the so-called tests enforced by the old forces, nor are we here to be brave warriors. We have greater missions, that is, to validate Dafa and to save sentient beings. We will not walk the path enforced by the old forces. We will continually study the Fa and regard the Fa as Teacher, so as to walk the path arranged by Teacher. We are not here to fight with the evil. Teacher said,

"...cultivators have no enemies, and nobody is worthy of being Dafa's enemy" ("Turning the Wheel Towards the Human World").

Teacher also talked about, "Purging evil as if but whisking dust away" ("A Will That Ebbs Not").

The purpose of our cleaning away barriers and opposing the persecution is to save sentient beings.

Then, where had I done poorly so that the old forces found excuses to persecute me and my family? Teacher asks us to look within. I realized that I was not compassionate to my family and relatives at home, nor was I compassionate to my students at school. When troubles came up, I did not consider things from their perspective, and was not considerate of them. I always thought about myself--emphasizing how important I was, and how correct I was. Sometimes I was emphasizing that I was arrogant, having forgotten to be compassionate to others. I had forgotten that the reason I came here was to validate the Fa, not to validate myself.

I remembered Teacher's words:

"...we need to always have a compassionate heart and calm mind. Then when you suddenly run into some problem you'll be able to handle it well. If your mind is always that peaceful and compassionate, when problems suddenly come up, you'll usually have a buffer and room to think it over. But if your mind is always thinking about disagreeing with other people, fighting over this, over that, then I'd say once you run into a problem you'll start fighting. I guarantee it." (Zhuan Falun)

I discovered that I had the attachment of fighting with others. Actually I had found that attachment a long time ago, and had been trying to get rid of it. So why was it still so strong and lasting for so long? I continued to look within, and realized that upon confronting problems, I tended to look outward for solutions, rather than looking within.

Because of looking outward, I would become emotional and start to complain when problems arose, when others would not listen to me, when things didn't go as I expected, or when truth-clarification wasn't smooth. Sometimes I would think I was not doing well in cultivation. I suffered so much and found it hard to get over tribulations. I had many complaints and even thought of giving up the practice. There were also occasions that I used the Fa or doing the three things as excuses to evade problems, rather than looking within and improving myself. In fact, I had missed good opportunities to validate the Fa.

Upon finding and understanding these attachments, I felt very good, as if my mind were refreshed. Such understandings came only after I constantly studied the Fa and did the "three things," exposing the evil persecution in my local area. In this process, I was also assisted by Teacher's compassionate guidance and care. Through this experience, I further realized the importance of Fa-study, and the importance of doing the "three things" well. Throughout our cultivation, our elevation and all of our understandings come from these. Teacher said, "no loss, no gain" "However much you put in, that's how much you get out" (Zhuan Falun).

Speaking of the attachment of fear, one may tend to think of the fear of evil and fear of persecution. In fact, I also found other types of fear: fear of others not listening to the truth, fear of not being understood, fear of having too many attachments, fear of doing poorly and damaging the Fa, fear of time running short, fear of being unable to catch up with the Fa-rectification momentum, fear of being attached to qing, fear of others speaking badly of me, fear of the evil's interference. It is clear that all these manifestations of fear are attachments to protecting myself and looking outward.

Such attachments have many manifestations. For example: hesitation before clarifying the truth and even giving up, having too many worries and being too cautious, and having no wisdom or compassion during truth-clarification. Other manifestations include paying too much attention to others' attitudes while clarifying the truth to them, and becoming overly happy when others accept truth-clarification materials, and unhappy when they don't, as if selling something. In the past, I tended to ignore people's ability to accept the things I was trying to tell them, instead, only focusing on what I wanted to tell them. When the results were not good, I felt frustrated and no longer wanted to clarify the truth again. I was impatient, and always wanted to achieve certain results, but things often turned out to be contrary to my expectations. I did the "three things" as if I were just finishing tasks, and tended to argue with others on hearing opposing opinions. I remembered Teacher's words,

"When I tell you to change your human understandings, I am not asking you to maintain a human way of understanding Dafa. Yet neither should you be irrational or eccentric. I want you to be clearheaded in understanding Dafa."(Essentials for Further Advancement)

Now I better understand these words.

Such actions, where I would just do my own things and ignore others, made me appear to be determined in Dafa, but were actually quite different from Dafa's requirements, the requirements for a god. I remembered a verse in the third exercise, "Xinci Yimeng" (provisional translation: "The heart is compassionate and the will is strong"). Firstly, being determined in Dafa is not simply how you appear; it is being clearheaded in your mind. We should not be deluded under any circumstances, and we need to do things according to the requirements of the Fa. We should know what we are here for, and stay on track, rather than being attached to worldly people's attitudes and how things appear on the surface. Secondly, we need to be compassionate and patient. We are here to validate the Fa, and to save sentient beings. We should hold the attitude of, "I will not argue with you or fight with you. I just want to save you. If it does not work at the beginning, I will try again and again, until you understand." Thirdly, we need to firmly and rationally safeguard the Fa. Upon seeing someone misunderstand Dafa, slander Dafa, or persecute Dafa practitioners, we need to clarify the truth to him or her and eliminate all the evil behind the scenes, to safeguard Dafa and sentient beings. This is a real hero--one who is forged by Dafa - not by the old forces, or in the prisons and labor camps, or amidst evil tribulations. We are not heroes in the human world, nor heroes who show themselves off.

Furthermore, I also have new understandings on why we need to pay attention to Fa-study, and need to study the Fa constantly. There is one sentence in Zhuan Falun,

"Shakyamuni was actually saying, 'Different levels have different Laws, and the Law at each level isn't the absolute Truth of the universe, but the Law at any given level does act as a guide at that level.'"

My current understanding of this sentence is, as the Fa-rectification proceeds, Dafa's requirements for us are different. When we are cultivating and doing Dafa work at different levels, we need to be guided by the Fa at those levels. The Fa that we enlighten to at a certain level can only guide us on that level. As we elevate, our previous understandings can no longer guide our cultivation and Dafa work, let alone guide our future cultivation and validating the Fa. Therefore, we need to constantly study the Fa to improve ourselves and improve our xinxing. As we are improving and doing more Dafa work, Dafa's requirements for us also increase. So we should pay more attention to Fa-study and cultivation.

While writing this article, I noticed several attachments of mine, and became more clearheaded on doing the "three things" as a Dafa disciple. I also came to understand that sharing experiences among practitioners should aim to validate the Fa and improve together. Here I would like to thank Teacher for arranging this opportunity for me to improve.

Recollecting A Dream: For Fellow Practitioners Who Have Stopped Cultivating

After reading an article on Clearwisdom.net recently, I remembered a dream that I had in 2003 after I had strayed from my cultivation path. I would like to share my dream with everyone, especially with those fellow practitioners who have not yet returned to the right path. It is my sincere hope that they will grasp this most fortunate and rare opportunity to cultivate in Dafa, and quickly return to the path of Fa-rectification.

By spring 2003, because I could no longer withstand the extensive period of brutal persecution, my will collapsed and I did not want to practice anymore or do anything. At that time I was just living in the maze like everyone else.

Before long, I had a dream one evening.

In the dream, I was walking along a street, when suddenly there was the sound of thunder and the sky became densely covered with dark clouds. Thinking that it would soon rain, I began looking for shelter. Before long the sky became filled with a multitude of lightning bolts, all of which were golden yellow in color. The lightning bolts approached from far beyond the horizon and reached the ground right beside where I was. After hitting the earth, they transformed into chains made of sparkling, dazzling, golden light. Next, the clouds in the sky suddenly parted enough to reveal a huge and incomparably lofty tower and an ancient city gate.

While I was still beholding the sight in amazement, crowds of people were running out to see it. When I asked someone about it, they said, "Today is the day that Falun Dafa practitioners reach consummation after having cultivated into gods. Let's hurry and catch a glimpse of it!" While this person was still talking, many people began to levitate together. Many practitioners were effortlessly rising into the air above the ground, while other practitioners could be seen rising up from out of the prisons. During their ascent, their clothes were also gradually transformed into the clothing of gods, and each one of them was in the lotus position while levitating. When all the practitioners who had reached consummation arrived at the gate tower of the ancient city, heaven's gates opened up, and myriads of golden rays spread across the entire universe. Then the entire gate tower and the many consummated practitioners hovering around it all ascended into the heavens.

I followed the crowds, running along the ground among them. When I realized that my former fellow practitioners had indeed cultivated into gods and had risen up while I was left behind in the world with no time left for cultivation, I fell down and cried my heart out. I can still vividly recall all of my sobbing and wailing. This was the utter grief and despair of a life that would surely die crying from regret over the wasted opportunity to cultivate, a life from which the flame of any hope was now coldly extinguished.

Please, all of you who were formerly fellow practitioners of Falun Dafa - awaken and treasure this most rare opportunity that only happens once in millions of years, and quickly return to the path of cultivation! Master and fellow practitioners are all waiting for you!

Eliminating Unrighteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) I have always wanted to write about something that has been on my mind, but because my study of the Fa was often not thorough enough, human notions grew stronger, and thought karma ran rampant. So I haven't always been steadfast. My understanding was very low in terms of bringing salvation to sentient beings, so I never wrote anything. If my present understanding is mistaken, I hope that fellow practitioners will kindly point it out.

In the recent experiences of cultivation and bringing salvation to sentient beings, I realized what (paraphrasing) "human notions formed within the bones" and an "ordinary person's mindset" meant. For example, one time when a few practitioners and I were trying to help those who hadn't come out to rectify the Fa, the demons from other dimensions took advantage of our concerns and fears. We grew distrustful of each other and were eventually caught and put in the detention center.

I do not agree with the old forces' arrangements and their so-called tests. I am persistent in protecting and validating Falun Dafa and do not cooperate with evil notions. I refused to wear the detention center's prisoner uniform and refused to sign my name, so they handcuffed me when they admitted me. When the guards ordered me to squat I refused, but at that same moment my thought was, "The guard will kick me behind my knees to make me kneel, so I'll be forced to squat anyway." Therefore, under the influence of my human notions, I sat on the bench. Later I was sent back to the cell where other prisoners were sitting. I thought, "What else can I do but sit? They aren't going to let me go, so there's no point in trying to resist them." Because of these human notions and mentalities coming out from within my bones, I began following their demands. I stayed in the detention center for one month and then spent another two months in the brainwashing center.

In the last few months, I have come to a deep realization that cultivation is a very serious matter. A practitioner's one thought can manifest different results. If we don't walk Master's arranged path correctly, if we have attachments, or if human notions come forth, the old forces will persecute us. So while we are validating the Fa and bringing salvation to sentient beings, we have to concentrate on following the requirements of the Fa and pick the mindset that's in accordance with those requirements. Only then we can walk our righteous path.

If you are fearful whenever you go out to clarify the truth, your first thought will be that they won't listen to you or that they might report you. My personal understanding is that clarifying the truth requires righteous thoughts. If we doubt others or are fearful that they won't listen or that they might report us, those are not righteous thoughts. Whenever my human notions are very strong, I first destroy them, and then I clarify the truth. That is why I wrote this article. Because my human notions can be very strong, therefore in the path of validating Falun Dafa, if I choose the righteous side, then the path becomes smooth, but if I follow my human notion then it leads me into danger. It is just as Master said in the "Grand Poem" in Hong Yin II:

"Whenever you have fear, it (the evil) will arrest you;

Whenever your thoughts become righteous, the evil will collapse."

My Daughter-in-law Has Begun to Cultivate

(Clearwisdom.net) Some practitioners in our local area don't get along well with their family members and this interferes with their spreading the Fa and clarifying the truth. There are several reasons: first, there are problems with our xinxing cultivation; second, the evil beings are interfering.

Some practitioners cannot treat their families with compassion and mistakenly interpret this as not being attached to their families. Some practitioners cannot follow the Dafa standards and fight with their family members like an ordinary person. They haven't thought of their families as sentient beings who need to be saved, therefore allowing them to miss again and again the opportunity to be saved. I recalled the story of my daughter-in-law. I have written it down to share with practitioners on how to improve together. Only when we pay attention to our cultivation and the upgrading of our xinxing in clarifying the truth, can we save our families. This is my understanding at my level, if anything is not appropriate, please be compassionate and point it out.

On the morning of July 3, 2003, my daughter-in-law called me asking where her child was (I had been taking care of my grandchild) and where I had been the day before because she had called and there was no answer. Since my memory was not good and I couldn't remember anything, I simply blurted out, "We didn't go anywhere." My granddaughter then took the phone. I then went to tidy up the bed. Suddenly, I remembered that I had taken the child to the hospital yesterday, and thus I asked my granddaughter to tell her mother quickly. This however annoyed my daughter-in-law, since she thought that I had lied to her.

After hanging up, my daughter-in-law immediately came to my home to get her child. Then she came back to get her things. I opened the door and handed some slippers to her. I didn't expect that my daughter-in-law would suddenly hit me, which dumbfound me. At that time I was a little frightened and escaped to the kitchen. But I calmed down soon, thinking that I was a practitioner and should maintain my xinxing.

When my daughter-in-law found that I wasn't going to fight back, she then started to destroy things. She broke the telephone. She became hysterical and burst into a fury. I didn't say anything, I just kept thinking about Master's teachings about Han Xin who had a heart of great forbearance. "Han Xin was an everyday person after all." (from Zhuan Falun Lecture 9) We are Dafa disciples, how can we deal well with things without great forbearance?

It was already around the noon. I said to her, "Don't be upset anymore. I cooked some spareribs yesterday and didn't eat them. I will cook some rice and we can have lunch together." She suddenly spat in my face, "Poo! Who wants to eat your stinky meal!" I said, "If you don't want lunch, then have some fruit." I peeled a banana and passed it to her. She grabbed the banana and threw it at me. I ducked and it hit the wall. She touched my nose and said, "Aren't you cultivating compassion? Aren't you cultivating forbearance? Today I will let you have a good cultivation opportunity."

Although I didn't argue or fight with her and she was making quite a scene on her own, she still continued to make trouble. She broke into the kitchen. I rapidly hid the knife and then hid in another room. After a while, I smelled gas. She had opened the gas valve so we would perish together. When I closed it, she reopened it, which happened three times. What could I do? I had no choice but to go to her work unit and ask her good friends to persuade her to go home. When she saw her co-workers, she madly rushed at me. It's lucky that they held her back. In this way, she made trouble from morning until 4 p.m. in the afternoon and then went back home.

My daughter-in-law is a family member and has a predestined relationship with me. Should I save her? At first, I thought: If she is to be weeded out, it is ok with me. I then realized immediately that this thought was not mine. I came here to assist Master in Fa-rectification and saving sentient beings. How can I not save her?

My daughter-in-law told me that I was not allowed to see my grandchild, call her on the phone, go to school to see her, or clarify the truth to her. Since I was no longer taking care of my grandchild, I had a lot of free time, so I put more effort into clarifying the truth.

In order to save my daughter-in-law, I came up with many ideas. I posted truth-clarifying materials on her door, put some in the basket of her bicycle, inserted them in the newspapers, put them in her child's backpack and so on. I went to school to get feedback from my granddaughter. I asked her if her mother read the truth-clarification material. The child said, "She threw all the materials into the garbage can while saying some bad words. She also threw away my Dafa things." I said, "You recite "Hong Yin"." The child said, "I'm scared. She hit me and I am afraid." I then found my daughter-in-law's father (he lived with them). I asked him to bring back the truth clarifying booklets and flyers and read them with his daughter. I heard later that she threw all the materials into the garbage can again.

I thought that I'd better go to her home and talk to her in person, so I found excuses to go to her home: bringing the child things to eat, to wear, to use, to play with, to read, or else I went there under the excuse of visiting her father. In this way, I went to her home time after time. She was more and more relaxed each time. I knew that I could make it. Later on, I asked her to come to my home to have dinner. I invited her again and again, and gradually she came over. I told stories to the child so her mother could also listen, including ancient parables, fairy tales, stories of famous cultivators, even the story of Noah's ark. I also talked about my personal experience of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution, all kinds of prophecies and so on. My daughter-in-law finally changed her attitude.

During the Chinese New Year of 2005, she gave me 1,000 yuan and apologized to me in front of others (I thought that it was great to be able to use the money for Fa-validation). I took the opportunity of her good attitude to ask her to withdraw from the CCP. She refused. I then told her the importance of getting rid of the mark of the CCP. I told her it could ensure her safety if she withdrew from the CCP and that she should cherish her life for the sake of her child and the whole family. I talked to her many times, and she finally withdrew from the CCP. She not only withdrew from the CCP, but also wanted to learn Falun Dafa. I sent her Zhuan Falun, and The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa to read. Since then, she has never thrown away truth-clarification materials and has even started to carry a small card with Dafa words on it.

I thought that even non-practitioners believe that "absolute sincerity can make metal and stone crack." We are practitioners and enlightened beings. If only we have patience, determination, and perseverance, and don't have any human notions or any pursuit, just the one thought to save them, we will surely succeed.

(Editor's note: The practitioner did very well in Compassion and Forbearance. But in the Fa-rectification period, the evil behavior of an everyday person is often caused by the manipulation of evil in other dimensions. So we need to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the interference of the evil in other dimensions and at same time clarify the truth to people.)

Taking the Initiative to Clarify the Truth to the Public

In order to tell more people the truth about Falun Gong, I took the initiative to communicate better with the general public.

A few days ago, I was told that one of my fellow villagers had injured her arm and had been admitted to the hospital. She had just come home after having been discharged from the hospital. Although we had not had much contact in the past, I took this opportunity to go to her home to visit her. I explained the importance of quitting the CCP to her and she told me that she had never read any of the truth-clarification materials before, although they had been sent to her home. Instead, she had thrown them away. She did not realize how important it was to resign from the CCP until I talked to her. Both she and her husband voluntarily wrote statements stating that they were quitting all organizations relating to the CCP. She was very affected. She expressed her conviction that Falun Gong practitioners are all good people and promised to repeat the phrase, "Falun Dafa is good" in her heart for good luck in the future.

During a break from work in September, I attended a wedding banquet where I met an acquaintance. Although time was limited, I briefly talked to him about the necessity of quitting the CCP. He agreed to do so right away and I helped him write a statement resigning from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

At dinner, seemingly by coincidence, I found myself seated at the same table with the head of the Security Department of my previous work unit. Before I had the chance to say anything, he raised his glass to me and respectfully asked me to forgive him about a matter in which he had acted against my will. (He had coordinated between the 610 Office and the local police station to force me into a brainwashing center. He is no longer the head of the Security Department). I talked to him about the matter and said that I, like other Falun Gong practitioners, have no enemies and that I would not hold a grudge against him because of this matter. At the same time, I took the chance to talk to him about quitting the CCP. He asked me to help him write a statement to resign from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. He also told me that he would no longer participate in deeds that were unjust.

Through these examples, I learned that Falun Gong practitioners all have opportunities to save sentient beings no matter where they are. We should reach out to all the people around us and clarify the truth to them,

Lastly, let us remember what Master said in "Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference," "I hope that every Dafa disciple won't overemphasize the form of things. Your own cultivation, your own improvement, your validating the Fa amidst the evil, saving sentient beings, and steadfastly doing well going down the path that you should take are what's most important."

Dafa Practitioner Unharmed After High Pressure Furnace Explosion

(Clearwisdom.net) I work for a company that makes LCD glass quartz. I inspect the finished product.

On December 2, 2005, I carried some LCD glass quartz to the inspection table and began working. There was a high-pressure furnace which eliminates bubbles in the polarized LCD glass standing next to me. A co-worker had just put a batch of glass inside, closed the furnace door and tightened up the screws. He could not tighten several of the screws, but he thought that it would not be a problem and left. I was the only one in that room.

After half a minute, with a loud crash, the furnace door burst open, and a stream of high pressure air projected from the furnace and threw me against the wall three meters away. In the meantime, fist-sized glass quartz pieces flew at me with high speed like flying knives. My safety helmet was blown away to a shelf two meters in height, and the fluorescent light was broken by the explosion.

Facing this sudden disaster, I was very calm, cool and composed, and not scared at all, as if it had nothing to do with me. The supervisor and administrators rushed in after they heard the explosion. They saw glass everywhere, but I was ok. After I checked myself, I found that I was not injured anywhere except that I noticed a palm-sized piece of glass was stuck in between my fingers. All my co-workers came in. After they learned what had happened, they were all shocked and amazed. Some of the co-workers who knew I practice Falun Dafa said, "We truly see the wonder of Dafa today!"

1. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Cheng Yanshuang Persecuted While Eight Months Pregnant

Ms. Cheng Yanshuang is from Yingezhuang Village, Xindianzi Township, Zunhua City, Hebei Province. On August 13, 2005, personnel from the Zunhua City 610 Office and the Xindianzi Township Police Station broke into her home and confiscated truth-clarifying material and a copy machine. They forced Ms. Cheng, who was eight months pregnant, into a waiting car and took her to the Xindianzi Police Station. There, they forced her to sign a detailed list of items they had taken from her and told her to pay 3,000 yuan. They released her after she paid 800 yuan. On the third day after her arrest, they summoned her to the police station. She was forced to sign a statement and was told that she would be sentenced after the baby was born.

2. [Shengyang City, Liaoning Province] Surgeon Guan Zhiyong, Sent to a Brainwashing Center

Mr. Guan Zhiyong is a surgeon at the Shengyang City First Hospital. On August 26, 2005, a 610 Office worker from Dadong District, Shengyang City, along with Guan Zhiyong's supervisor at the hospital, arrested him and sent him to the Shengyang City Brainwashing Center. His home was also illegally searched.

3. [Shanghai] Yang Xiuzhen Detained in the Shanghai Hongkou Regional Detention Center

Ms. Yang Xiuzhen is from Shanghai, and she had breast cancer prior to practicing Falun Gong. She had surgery to remove the cancerous tissue, and she also had chemotherapy. Her husband later introduced her to Falun Gong, and she benefited from the practice. On November 11, 2005, she was arrested and sent to the Shanghai Hongkou Regional Detention Center. Her husband Yin Qinghua, who resides in the United States, is seeking help to rescue his wife.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Pan Gang Locked in an Isolation Cell for More Than One Month

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Pan Gang, 48, who worked for the Changchun Farmer Tax Bureau, was sent to a forced labor camp because he asked to have his job back in 2004. He is now imprisoned in the Changchun City Weizigou Forced Labor Camp.

In the early October 2005, Mr. Pan was sent to an isolation cell for shouting "Falun Dafa is good." He has been locked in the isolation cell for more than a month.

5. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Wu Chunzhen and Shi Yanqiu Illegally Arrested

On November 15, 2005, police officers from the Wudaogang Police Station in Dongfeng County arrested Ms. Wu Chunzhen and Ms. Shi Yanqiu, at their homes in Dongfeng County, Jilin Province. They are being held and tortured in the county detention center. It is reported that they are on hunger strike to protest the illegal arrest and torture.

6. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Hu Zhehui Secretly Sent to the Shenyang Public Security Hospital to be Persecuted

Since September 12, 2005 when the Panjin Xinglongtai Regional Court secretly sentenced him to 15 years in prison, Mr. Hu Zhehui has been tortured. His health is so poor that he cannot care for himself. Because of his condition, the Shengyang prison officials refused to accept him when he was sent there. He was thus held in the Panjin City Detention Center. It was reported that Mr. Hu Zhehui was secretly sent to the Shengyang Public Security Hospital to be further persecuted.

7. [Benxi, Liaoning Province] Yu Guoxi and Others Persecuted

In March 2005, county public security agents arrested Mr. Yu Guoxi while he was studying the Fa at home. He is from Wanidian Village, Guaimozi Township, Benxi Huanren County, Liaoning Province, After being detained for one month, he was sent to the Benxi Weining Forced Labor Camp. There are five other practitioners (Ms. Zhu Qifeng and Ms. Kong Xiangping and three others) were also arrested at the same time. The five practitioners were detained for three days, and the authorities extorted two thousand yuan from each before releasing them.

In mid-July 2005, county public security agents illegally detained Ms. Zhang Guixiang for one month. She was then sentenced to three years in forced labor. She is now imprisoned in the Shengyang Masanjiazi Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Kong Xiangping again was arrested and sent to the Fushun, Liaoning Province to undergo brainwashing. She was released after two weeks. To avoid further persecution, she left her home and is now homeless.

8. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Huang Yanjiang Sent to the Chatou Forced Labor Camp

In early September 2005, the Residential Committee, along with the Haizhu Region 610 Office, arrested Ms. Huang Yanjiang and confiscated a computer and truth-clarification materials. She is now imprisoned in the Chatou Forced Labor Camp .

9. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Zhu Peiling Unlawfully Sent to Forced Labor Camp

On September 27, 2005, police arrested Ms. Zhu Peiling, 43, who is from Qiujiazhuang Village, Longdu District, Zhucheng, Shandong Province. She was released the following day. On October 25, police again arrested her. She was sent to serve three years of forced labor at the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp

10. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Jiang Xiulan Secretly Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Ms. Jiang Xiulan has been illegally detained in the Panjin City Detention Center. It is known recently that she was secretly sentenced to two years in prison on August 31, 2005 at Dawa County. She is now imprisoned in the Panjin City Detention Center.

12. [Beijing] Yan Peng Unlawfully Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Yan Peng was arrested on September 28, 2005 and was detained in the Zhaoyang Detention Center. On November 14, he was sent to Beijing City Prisoner Distribution Center at Tuanhe District. He was sentenced two and a half years to a forced labor camp.

13. [Fuoshan City, Guangdong Province] Yu Ruiming and Huang Xiaoying Arrested

Ms. Yu Ruiming, about 50 years old, is from Fuoshan City. On October 26, 2005, 610 Office personnel arrested her.

Ms. Huang Xiaoying, about 50 years old, is from Fuoshan City. In mid July 2005, Fuoshan City 610 Office agents arrested her and sent her to the Shundetang Forced Labor Camp to undergo brainwashing.

14. [Beijing] Li Shumin Again Arrested by Haidian Procuratorate

On October 28, 2005, Ms. Li Shumin, who is in her sixties, was living in the Sixth Neighborhood, Second Courtyard, Wukesong Hangtian Section, Haidan Area. Police from the Haidian Procuratorate arrested her from her home and released her later. On November 17, police from the Haidian Procuratorate again arrested her and sent her to the Haidian Detention Center.

15. [Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province] Wang Xiuyun Arrested

On November 2, 2005, Ms. Wang Xiuyun from Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province was arrested because of distributing truth-clarifying material and was detained in the Second Detention Center in the Harbor Region, Qinhuangdao. She was sent to Kaiping Region Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City. Her term of forced labor is unknown.

16. [Tianjin City] Liu Jian Unlawfully Sent to the Banqiao Farm Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Liu Jian is from Jiayuan Nanli, Hongqiao Region, Tianjin City. On the evening of September 25, 2005, more than twenty plain-clothes policemen arrested him and confiscated a computer, a copy machine and over 10,000 yuan from his home.

Later, his family went to see him, but were not allowed to. Police later said that he had been sentenced to two years and three months of forced labor. Liu Jian is now in the Banqiao Farm Forced Labor Camp.

214 People Declare that their Words and Deeds Under Forced Brainwashing are Null and Void

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Background:

Pure Heart, Clear Mind was established in early 2002 by a group of volunteers who were interested in Falun Gong and had the wish to introduce the truth and beauty of the practice's exercises and teachings to the public. They worked nights and weekends to produce the show, wanting to create a program that was both interesting and rich in content. They also had the goal of letting the public know about how the practice was being persecuted in China, since Jiang Zemin's faction has gone to great lengths to conceal it. After several years of hard work, Pure Heart, Clear Mind is now broadcast on television stations across North America, crossing cultural boundaries to create a show that everyone can enjoy.

Our Mission:
Pure Heart, Clear Mind is dedicated to displaying the beauty and truth of Falun Gong. By showing its beauty, we hope to let more people learn about the practice and understand what Falun Gong is. We also provide information that exposes the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and how practitioners are speaking out and taking action in an effort to end it. We are dedicated to producing a show that is both rich in content and enjoyable to watch--one that will help the world better understand and benefit from the principles and exercises of Falun Gong

Impartial and Selfless: Appointing People According to Their Ability

(Clearwisdom.net) Qi Xi, also known as Qi Huangyang, was a scholar in the Jin Kingdom during the Spring and Autumn Period. Later, he was appointed as the First Lieutenant. He was impartial, selfless, put the welfare of the country first, and never paid attention to either people's gratitude or resentment.

One time, the Ping King of Jin asked scholar Qi Huangyang, "Nanyang County needs a governor. Who is most capable for that position?" Qi Huangyang answered, "Xie Hu is the most capable." The King said, "Isn't Xie Hu your enemy?" Qi Huangyang replied, "Your Majesty asked me who is the most capable of being the governor, not who is my enemy." The Ping King exclaimed, "Great." When Xie Hu was appointed the governor of Nanyang County, all the people in Jin praised him highly.

Later, the Ping King of Jin asked Qi Huangyang, "Our kingdom needs a junior military officer, who is the most capable for that position?" Qi Huangyang answered, "Qi Wu is capable." The King said, "Isn't Qi Wu your son?" Qi Huangyang replied, "Your Majesty asked me who is most capable of being the junior military officer, not who is my son." The Ping King exclaimed, "Great." Qi Wu, therefore, was appointed as the junior military officer. All the people in Jin praised him again.

Later, Kong Zi, also known as Confucius, heard about it and exclaimed, "What Qi Huangyang said was truly great! The recommendation of outsiders does not exclude enemies, and the recommendation of insiders does not exclude his own son." Qi Huangyang was indeed impartial and selfless!

The Influence of a Ruler Who Cultivates in the Temple Extends for Thousands of Miles

(Clearwisdom.net) Lexi was the Prime Minister of the country of Song during the Spring and Autumn Period. He was also known as Zi, as in Zihan. He was a Sicheng official. He was kindhearted and magnanimous and focused on cultivating his own moral character.

When the country of Chu sent Shi Yinchi as the ambassador to Song, Zihan had a reception for him in his own home. Ambassador Shi Yinchi noticed that the south fence around Zihan's house was curved and that the water from his neighbors on the west side ran through Zihan's yard. When he asked why this was so, Zihan explained, "The neighbor on the south side of my house is a shoemaker. Three generations of their family have been shoemakers. If he were to get flooded out and have to move to another place, those in Song who want to buy shoes won't be able to find him and the shoemaker won't be able to make a living. Therefore, we do not want him and his family to have to move. The location of my neighbor on the west was originally higher than my house. Their water flows through my yard conveniently, so I don't stop it."

When Shi Yinchi returned to Chu, the king was about to attack Song. Ambassador Shi said to the king, "We should not attack Song. Their king is wise, and their prime minister is kind. These wise rulers have won the love of their people, and the kind prime minister has the support of talented people. If we attack them, we will fail and the people of the world will laugh at us." Heeding his ambassador's advice, the king of Chu didn't attack Song but turned to attack the country of Zheng instead.

After Confucius heard this he said, "He cultivates himself in a temple. However, his authority extends thousands of miles. This is the name of Sicheng Zihan." At that time Song was surrounded by Chu to the south, Jin to the north, and Qi to the east. These neighboring countries were very big. None of their rulers, however, dared to attack Song.
