(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of August 31, Radio France International broadcasted to Mainland China and Mandarin-speaking areas of Paris in its column "Book Introduction" the following report.
The report said, "I've got a new book. Mr. Zhang, an audience member from Paris sent it to me. The book is entitled, Falun Gong's Challenge to China. The book which was written in English can be considered as the first book reporting Falun Gong from the perspective of a western reporter. It also remarked how western media reacted and reported this issue.
Author of the book, Danny Schechter is very famous in the U.S. He is a senior reporter on human rights. He has more than 30 years of experience of being a reporter. He has worked as correspondents from a number of radio stations, TV stations and newspapers. He also won twice the New England Emmy. Western media did not bear the responsibility of reporting the truth.
In the book, Danny Schechter stated some facts about Falun Gong practitioners that he had observed. He also tried to present some evidence of certain facts in his book. The more-than-300-page book has 19 chapters and about 200,000 words. Starting from China's transformation from the Cultural Revolution to the market economy, the author lays out the spiritual belief of Falun Gong and introduces Mr. Li Hongzhi, founder of Falun Gong as well as his impression of interviewing Mr. Li.
The author also quotes various sources to analyze the reasons of the China's suppression of Falun Gong and the measures applied. He especially discussed in a great depth related reports from western media outlets as well as attitude of western countries and non-governmental organizations.
