My Dafa disciples who have strong human thoughts: the path I'm leading you down heads toward godhood, yet some students just tenaciously cling to human notions. Before, in personal cultivation you always saw Dafa's benefits as benefits for human society; during the tribulation, you've taken the persecution of Dafa disciples by evil beings in this cosmos using bad people to be human acts; and when hardly any of the evil remains in Fa-rectification as Dafa disciples validate the Fa with righteous thoughts and clean out the evil, and as the world's people begin to see things clearly, you are putting your hope for an end to the persecution in ordinary people.
What's happening is that the cosmos is going through Fa-rectification. [What is taking place in] the human world is merely how low-level beings act when gigantic cosmic bodies are being impacted by the Fa-rectification. What could human beings possibly do to gods? If there were no outside factors, would humans dare to do anything to gods? How human society unfolds is nothing but the outcome of high-level beings controlling things. When you're compared with those Dafa disciples who have strong righteous thoughts and have done well, [I have to ask,] can you really not raise your ultimate understanding of Dafa beyond this human plane? What are you really cultivating for, then? To achieve something for human society? To achieve something for China? To achieve something for the side of Dafa disciples that's in the human world? Or to merely have the world bring justice to Dafa disciples in the human world? Did I impart the Fa to you to accomplish something for human society? What I am doing is leading you toward godhood in cultivation, leading your understanding, little by little, out of humanness and beyond that of man, and the goal is to lead you to Consummation and the ascension of your being.
Snap out of it! If even this, the most wicked ordeal ever, can't wake you up, then when the Fa rectifies the human world you will only be able to watch--watch with shock and regret, with angst and lamentful despair for having done so poorly--the magnificent sight of the Consummation of those Dafa disciples who truly cultivated. It's a case of reaping what you sow. I don't want to leave behind even one single Dafa disciple, but you have got to improve yourselves through real Fa-study and cultivation! With validating the Fa, you should save the world's people and do well the three things Dafa disciples are supposed to do. Be diligent! Cast aside your human attachments. Godhood isn't far away.

42-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Deng Jianping was from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. On March 17, 2004 she was abducted from a rental house near the Chengdu North Train Station. She was jailed in Bi County Detention Center. While detained there, she refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong and its principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance," and as a consequence had to endure brutal tortures. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and more tortures followed. She was tortured to death at 12:30pm on August 11, 2004.
On July 22, while in critical condition, she was sent to the People's Hospital in the Qingyang District. For safety reasons, she had been using aliases. So, the police didn't know her real name. After being on a hunger strike and clarifying the truth about Dafa for an extended period of time, she was physically and mentally exhausted. She fell into a trance and told the police her real name on July 27.
Using her name, the police found out from the Internet that her elder-brother works for the Qingbeijiang Sichuan Chemical Group. They asked her family members to persuade her to stop fasting and to give up her belief. So on August 10, her parents and elder brother were taken to the hospital to visit her. What they saw broke their hearts! Deng Jianping was reduced to a mere skeleton. She couldn't move and was in a trance. Her feet were still in shackles, which weighed several dozen Jins (1 Jin=500 Gram, a little more than 1 pound). Her feet had become deformed due to the weight of the shackles. At the time, it was mid-summer, and in the sweltering heat, she was still wearing the red sweater she had on when she was abducted. She could only lie on her back and couldn't turn over. Most areas of her buttocks were festered and covered with blood. She could only urinate and have bowel movements in bed. She was too weak to respond to her family members. They kept talking to her. Gradually, she started to talk, but she was not in her right mind.
She looked at her mother and said in a thin voice: "You're the Communist Party secretary. You tortured me." Her family immediately questioned the policemen there: "Is this what you called 'treating her nicely and taking good care of her'?" Upon her family request, the doctor came to treat her wounds. She came to and could recognize her parents and her elder brother. She pointed at one young armed policeman and said, "I will sue them. They tortured me." The policeman said, "She is talking nonsense." Her parents refuted him. Seeing that Jianping's life was hanging by a thin thread, her family urged the police to release her. The policeman said, "That's not possible. It takes one to two weeks to review and approve." Her family said, "If she dies here. You have to be held accountable!" The next day (August 11), the police called her elder brother in the morning to notify him that they agreed to grant her bail status and that her family can take her. They immediately hurried to the Chengdu City Police Department Qingyang branch to take care of the paperwork. Then they were taken to the Bi County Detention Center. After waiting for several hours, they were told that Jianping died at 12:30pm that day. At 4:00pm that afternoon, they went to the funeral parlor to see her remains.
Deng Jianping used to be an electrician in the Second Chemical Factory of the Qingbeijiang Sichuan Chemical Group. She then worked as an accountant in another company in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. She began to practice Falun Gong in 1995. Through practicing Falun Gong exercises and following its principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance," all of her previous ailments had disappeared. She enjoyed great benefits, both physically and mentally.
On July 20, 1999, Jiang and his regime launched a brutal persecution campaign against Falun Gong practitioners. Deng Jianping continued her practice. In April 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal to higher authorities for Falun Gong. She was taken to the Tiananman Square Police station. She told the policemen how she benefited so much from practicing Falun Gong and went on a hunger strike. She never told the police her name, address and work place. She was released after 3 days.
Later that year in July, she went to Beijing again to appeal. This time, she went with her niece in 38-degree Celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit) heat and the scorching sun, they practiced Falun Gong's second exercise "Holding the Law Wheel." They were taken to the Tiananman Square Police station again. The policeman recognized her and said, "You came again, and with a child!" He slapped her on the face. She still clarified truth about Falun Gong to him, and didn't tell him her name. The ferocious policeman softened his attitude a little bit.
She went on a hunger strike. With other detained fellow practitioners, she meditated and studied Fa. The police released her, her niece, and an elder lady from Shangdong Province. The elder lady didn't have any money with her. So Jianping arranged to collect enough money for her traveling expenses. She then returned to Chengdu City, Sichuan Province with her niece.
After returning from Beijing, Jianping devoted herself to disclosing the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners and clarifying truth about Falun Gong to every one.
On February 4, 2002, she was abducted from home by the Chengdu City Police Department First Division. She was jailed at Bi County Detention Center. She refused to tell the police her name. So the Detention Center called her "an anonymous person." She went on a hunger strike for over 20 days and was very weak. The detention center thought she was about to die and took her to the Police station. Thanks to Teacher's guidance, she realized that she needed to get out of the police station with a practitioner's wisdom. She surveyed the surrounding area. Then she pretended she couldn't walk. The policemen eased up on their watch. She kept sending forth righteous thoughts: "I should not stay here to be persecuted. I must get out of here so I can clarify the truth about Dafa. Teacher, please empower me." Then the opportunity came. While one policeman went out to make a phone call, and another policeman went to the restroom, she climbed out of the detention room window using a mop that was hanging on the sewer pipe. She climbed to the rooftop of an adjacent house. There was a utility pole a meter (a little more than 3 feet long) away from that house. She jumped to the utility pole from the rooftop, and climbed down the pole to the ground. A taxi came by. She got on it, and tried to pay for the ride with her coat since she didn't have any money with her. She explained to the cab driver how she benefited greatly from practicing Falun Gong and how she was persecuted because of her belief. The driver was very sympathetic and didn't take her coat. Then she took another cab to go to a fellow practitioner's house. She borrowed money from the practitioner and paid the cab driver double the cab fee. Just like that, even though she was debilitated after going on a hunger strike for over 20 days, she got out of the Detention Center with Teacher's guidance and protection as well as with her righteous thoughts and acts.
In early March 2004, Practitioners Zeng Tao, Cheng Mo, and Li Xiaobo in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province were abducted. Deng Jianping was followed by the police. On March 17, she was abducted from a rental house in a community close to the Chengdu North Train Station. While being jailed in Bi County Detention Center, she was on a hunger strike for a long time and endured all kinds of tortures. She was persecuted to death at 12:30pm on August 11, 2004. We still don't know the details of how she was tortured during her detention in the Bi County Detention Center.
(Clearwisdom.net) In this troublesome season, Mom disappeared and Dad was under constant monitoring. The 1.1 billion people across the country are disturbed and they can't have peaceful lives. This is what the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) calls "Stability." All I learned is that there was injustice only in the "old society" (before the CCP took over the power). It's beyond my imagination that today the injustice is much broader and much more severe. The authorities blindly label good citizens as evil, forming an "illegal organization" and arresting them at will. Why do they arrest those who follow the principle of "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance" while ignoring the true criminals?
The beginning of the lonely life: At 4 a.m. yesterday, I was suddenly awakened from my sleep by some voices, and then I heard a vehicle leaving. Mom was gone. All day long I was looking forward to seeing her. At night, she didn't return, either. One more day has passed now, but I still don't have any information about her whereabouts. No Mom, no happiness. No Mom, no love. Without Mom, all I have are the loneliness and the worries. When looking at the empty chair, my appetite is totally lost...
Mom, please endure! I'm sure you will survive the atrocity. I'm looking forward to seeing you!
Lately Dad also became painfully silent and he couldn't sleep or eat well. Tonight even Dad didn't come back. Mom and Dad, I'm so desperately looking forward to seeing both of you coming home.

The following descriptions and illustrations expose additional methods of torture used in Chinese detention centers, prisons, labor camps and brainwashing centers on steadfast Falun Dafa practitioners. The authorities administer these tortures in an attempt to force practitioners to renounce their belief or to give information about Dafa activities.
Being dragged across the floor
The Daqing Detention Center abducted a female Falun Gong practitioner, who was later literally dragged into a psychiatric hospital for further persecution. Her back was severely injured by the dragging.
Being tightly bundled up and suffocated with a blanket
This method of torture is often used in the heat of summer. Several police guards swarm over the practitioner and tightly bundle them in a quilt. As a result, the practitioner suffers dizziness and nausea and sweats profusely.
Pouring cold water over practitioners
Winters are piercingly cold in northern China. Practitioners, some wearing lightweight cotton clothes, some stripped of their clothes, are placed in front of vents, open doors and windows, and then cold water is poured on their bodies. This causes the victims to shiver from head to toe, and their heads feel numb and ache painfully. Some practitioners even lose consciousness from this abuse.
"Flying an airplane" while carrying glasses of water in both hands
In this torture, the victim's head is bent down until it cannot go down any further, while the hands are pulled up from the back, and the practitioner is forced to hold two glasses of water on his hands. If a slight imbalance or sway of the body makes the water splash out of the glasses, the victim will be beaten up.
Having the hands handcuffed behind the back and feet shackled
Being tortured this way, the victim is unable to take care of his daily needs. Other inmates have to take care of his eating, drinking, and relieving himself. Having the hands handcuffed behind the back makes the victim's shoulders extremely painful as if they are being torn apart. When sleeping, the victim is unable to lie on his side and he cannot lie on his back either. He has to turn over every one or two minutes. Heavy iron shackles weighing well over 50 pounds are fastened on the victim's ankles with thick iron cuffs. Heavy chains link the two iron cuffs to each other, between the practitioner's ankles. The extreme weight and awkwardness of the shackles makes it very difficult for the victim to move even one step. The iron shackles' hitting the floor makes a loud clanging noise. The victim's ankles are often raw and bleeding from the rubbing of the shackles. One practitioner was tortured this way for two weeks in a row.
Trampling on toes
Being hung up
This method of torture is often used to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their belief. The victim is hung up with ropes, iron cable or handcuffs. His feet are off the ground or only the toes are touching the ground. The pain is hard to endure. This method is widely used in detention centers, labor camps and prisons in China.
Hidden water dungeon
On the surface, one cannot see a trace of this method of torture. Previously, some people charged that the Beijing Huairou Detention Center had a water dungeon. The United Nations sent a team to investigate but did not find it.
A Falun Gong practitioner from Daqing was once tortured by means of the "water dungeon" in the Beijing Huairou Detention Center. His shoes and socks were first removed and he was forced to wear cotton clothes and trousers. His hands were handcuffed and his feet were attached to shackles weighing 40 pounds, which are supposed to be used only on condemned prisoners. In addition, the handcuffs and shackles were connected to each other in front of his chest, so that he was unable to move and was forced to hold one contorted position. The police guards first poured water in the low-lying place near the toilet and placed the victim in the water. They then ordered criminal inmates to take turns pouring water on him. When the victim's coat and pants become a little bit dry, they would pour water over him again, so that his body was continuously soaked. Long period of soaking in water made the victim's entire body swollen, whitened, and the skin began to fester. The pain is unbearable.
(Clearwisdom.net) Being a student at Qinghua University (an Ivy League status university in Beijing) is quite prestigious in China, especially for children from farming families. These students are considered to be "golden phoenixes from the ravine." People look up to these students, thinking about the honor they bring to their families. However, these days, the family of Qinghua University student Zhang Lianjun is in deep sorrow.
Zhang Lianjun is from Taipingdi Village of Taipingdi Township, Songshan District, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. In 1995, he was admitted to Qinghua University with an outstanding academic record. During his university years, he was a student of good character and scholarship. In 2004, this 29-year-old young man should have been serving his country with the knowledge he gained from the university. Instead, he has been tortured brutally by the Beijing Police Department's National Security Section, and is reduced to a vegetative state. He is now being held in the No. 4 Prison of Chifeng City.
Zhang Lianjun was a talented student and was always willing to help others. When he went to Qinghua University in 1995, he came to know Falun Dafa and its principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance." He realized at once that Falun Dafa is the truth. After practicing Dafa for some time, he enjoyed great benefits, both physically and mentally. He learned that to be a Dafa practitioner, he first needed to be a person with virtue. He studied hard and was strict with himself. He always thought of others first. In his spare time, he studied Dafa and practiced the exercises with fellow practitioners. Mr. Zhang's outstanding academic achievements and good deeds were acknowledged by his professors as well as other students.
However, since July 20, 1999, former Chinese President Jiang Zemin felt threatened by Falun Gong's great popularity, and launched a brutal persecution campaign against Falun Gong practitioners. So began Zhang Lianjun's hardships. First, in 1999 people tried to force him to oppose Falun Gong and give up the practice. He refused to do so since he couldn't lie to himself or to others. As a consequence, the university gave him a failing grade on his graduation dissertation and declined to issue him a graduation certificate. After that, out of his trust in China's legal system, he tried clarifying the truth about Falun Gong through appealing to higher authorities. Unfortunately, all government agencies, including the police department, the procuratorate, and the justice department, are all under Jiang's control. Mr. Zhang's appeals therefore fell on deaf ears, and he was punished for clarifying the truth. He was jailed several times for appealing to the higher authorities on behalf of Falun Gong's innocence. Eventually, Zhang Lianjun was forced to leave his residence and started moving from place to place in order to avoid arrest. Since he was constantly under surveillance by the special agents, even when he returned to his hometown Mr. Zhang couldn't find a regular job and could not stay at one place for long. In early 2003, his family lost contact with him.
In August 2003, Zhang Lianjun's family received a phone call from the National Security Section of the Beijing Police Department. They were told that Mr. Zhang had been arrested by the National Security Section in January 2003. They said that Mr. Zhang had a serious head injury and needed surgery and that his parents had to sign an agreement form for the operation. By the time his parents hurried to Beijing, the National Security Section told them that the operation had been completed and that it was successful. But, they refused to let Mr. Zhang's parents see their son. Naturally, his parents were very worried and strongly requested that they be allowed to see him. But, the Security Section used various excuses to turn down their requests.
Since Mr. Zhang's father couldn't find out exactly what had happened to his son, he went to the Beijing National Security Section again in April 2004 to try to see him. This time, he found out that his son had been sentenced to eight years imprisonment. He was shocked and saddened by the news. Worried about his son's condition, he requested repeatedly to see him. Again, his requests were turned down.
On July 16, 2004, the local police station in Chifeng City notified Zhang Lianjun's family that he had been sent back to the No. 4 Prison of Chifeng City, and that he was paralyzed and couldn't eat or even use the toilet. This unexpected bad news overwhelmed the whole family. It was as if the sky had suddenly turned black. This was a very big blow to the worried parents. It is beyond their understanding why Jiang's group would so brutally torture their son, simply because he chose to believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance." What kind of government would do such a thing to its own people?
On July 20, Mr. Zhang's whole family went to the prison to visit him. For the first time, the parents saw their paralyzed son. He was in a vegetative state and didn't respond to them at all. He was just lying there with no facial expression, and he couldn't even move his limbs. The whole family was heartbroken, and they couldn't hold back their tears. His younger sister cried until her she lost her voice. The entire family was in extreme sorrow.
The local policemen described the way Zhang Lianjun was sent back by the National Security Section from Beijing. "They just threw him out of the car. How could they do this to him?" His parents finally figured out why the National Security Section repeatedly denied their requests to see their son in Beijing. It was because they were using some unimaginable ways to torture their son during that time.
Zhang's parents requested that he be released on medical parole, but the prison official would not approve their request. Instead, they asked his parents to pay for his treatment, or send medicine to the prison. But how could his parents afford all this? They were already impoverished after having supported their son's college education. So, the prison official wouldn't release Mr. Zhang, claiming that they had received instructions from higher authorities not to release him.
Now Zhang's parents are in deep sorrow. They don't even want to talk to their relatives or friends, and they cry constantly. Days seem like years to them. They're afraid that they might hear worse news about their son. In China, Mr. Zhang's family is just one example of so many other families that have been destroyed by the government's brutal persecution of people who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance." Tens of thousands of families live in sorrow and terror every day.
After reading about what happened to Zhang's family, it is clear how Jiang's group is brutally persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. To date, over 1,000 practitioners have been persecuted to death. Please help to stop this inhuman persecution.
We also hope the police at the No. 4 Prison of Chifeng City will be able to tell right from wrong. Don't just follow an order from Jiang to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Jiang doesn't represent the country, and his order is not reflective of the rights guaranteed by the Chinese Constitution. Please don't help a tyrant to do evil. Learn from the example of the followers of the Cultural Revolution. They were the scapegoats and were secretly executed in Yunan Province. Today, Jiang and many of his followers have been sued in many countries. Police officers, please know that you will pay the price if you continue to help the inhuman persecution.

My name is Ms. Zhang Shubi and I am 65 years old. I live in Zitong Town, Tongnan County, Chongqing City. I am a retired government official. I wish to share what I experienced when I went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong.
On February 26, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal to the State Council Appeals Office and National People's Congress Appeals Office. The staff there gave me a registration form to complete. After I completed the form, the police escorted me to the Chongqing Administrative Office in Beijing. In early March, police escorted me back to Tongnan County, Chongqing and forced my family to pay 3,000 yuan [1] for a so-called "escort fee." Around 7 p.m. on March 6th, policeman Zhang Liang started to interrogate me in an office at the police station. He didn't allow me to sleep for two nights and a day. Then he sent me to a detention center and they illegally held me there.
I continued to practice Falun Gong during my detention. Because of this, Yan Mi (a guard) and Li Zigui (head of the detention center) persecuted me by subjecting me to a method called a "chicken eating rice." They first shackled my feet and then cuffed both my hands, each to an ankle. I was not able to stand up, so I had to squat down to walk or sleep. This torture lasted for more than 20 days. This lasted until April 3rd, when I was transferred to another detention center. Nine people shared one small room without any sunlight. It was humid, depressing and foul smelling. There was only an 8 inch square viewing hole in the door, which meagerly allowed outside air into the room. In early June, my family paid 1,000 yuan to bail me out.
In November 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for a second time. I validated Dafa in Tiananmen Square. I was arrested by the police right there on the spot and detained at the Tiananmen Branch Police Station. I was later transferred to the Chongqing Administrative Office in Beijing. One month later, I was illegally sentenced to one year at the Chongqing Renhe Women's Labor Re-education Brigade. I completely lost my freedom when I was detained there. Twelve people shared a room, which included one Falun Gong practitioner and eleven drug addicts. The guards designated three drug addicts to collectively supervise one practitioner. They closely monitored the practitioner 24 hours a day. Whether the practitioner went to bathroom, washed her face, ate or washed clothes, they were always with her. We were not allowed to "talk or walk freely" and we had to listen to them. They punished us and beat us if we were not obedient. We only had 5 minutes every morning to go to the bathroom, brush our teeth and wash our faces, while the drug addicts could take as long as they wished.
The guards in the Labor Reeducation Center were sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp [2] (in Liaoning Province) to be trained by more "experienced" guards. From that time on, they utilized more oppressive procedures in handling us. They didn't allow practitioners to talk to each other, to say hello to each other or to even look at one other. They required practitioners to straighten their legs when they were on a bed, just like sitting on a "Tiger Bench"[3]. They forbid practitioners from bending their legs, because they thought that practitioners were practicing Falun Gong. If they saw a practitioner's legs were not straight in the morning, they immediately straightened her legs. Later, they didn't even allow practitioners to sit on a bed. If they found any practitioners sitting on a bed, they punished practitioners by forcing them to stand still for a long time [4]. The guards also forced us to watch TV programs that slandered Falun Gong.
On October 30, 2001, I was transferred to the Chongqing Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp. The next morning, I sent righteous thoughts with six fellow practitioners at 5AM, and the guards immediately beat and kicked us. From then on, every day from 6:30 a.m. until 11 p.m., we were forced to "sit on a small stool" [5] without being allowed to talk.
I have suffered all kinds of torture in the labor camps.
In November 2001, my illegal labor reeducation term expired. The local police transferred me to the Tongnan Brain-Washing Class and continued to detain me there. I was not released until the evening of December 31, 2001.
They also persecuted me financially. Since November 2000 until now, they had been deducting 50 yuan every month from my salary.
[1] Yuan: Chinese currency. 500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.
[2] Masanjia Labor Camp: a notorious labor camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning province that has been extensively using many merciless and savage torture methods to persecute practitioners imprisoned there.
[3] A "Tiger Bench" - a brutal torture device. Practitioners are forced to
sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their
knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes
placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight
ahead. They are not allowed to turn their heads, close their eyes, talk to
anyone or move at all. Several inmates are assigned to watch over the
practitioners and force them to remain motionless, while sitting on the bench.
Usually some hard objects are inserted underneath the practitioners' lower legs
or ankles to make it harder for them to tolerate this painful abuse (see

[4] The so-called "punishment by standing for extended periods of time" means
that the victim has to stand; facing a wall all day long, except for the time
spent eating, sleeping and using the toilet. This starts at 5 a.m. until 1 or 2
a.m. the next morning when the practitioner is allowed to go to bed. This abuse
usually lasts several days. If someone cannot withstand the intensity of
prolonged standing and loses consciousness, the guards will then force-feed them
with drugs.
[5] "Sitting on a small stool" - practitioners are forced to sit on a small
hard backless stool. They are forced to keep their feet tied to each other and
the knees tied to each other. They are forced to sit straight up and look
straight ahead. They are forced to keep all the fingers of both hands tied to
each other and put their hands on her knees. The practitioners are not allowed
to move their bodies, move their hands, move their feet, or have any movement of
the mouth or close their eyes. They are not allowed to move any part of their
body, otherwise, the guards beat them with their fists and kick them. The
practitioner remains in a motionless posture for more than 10 hours daily. This
is a commonly used trick to torture practitioners without causing any visible
physical trauma.
(Clearwisdom.net) After Jiang and his associates' persecution of Falun Gong
started in 1999, the Chuanxi Women's Prison in Sichuan Province has been
detaining Falun Dafa practitioners on and off at its No. 12 division, amounting
to nearly one hundred practitioners in total. During the continuous persecution,
the division director Wang Xinya has made repeated remarks at many meetings, "We
take the death of a Falun Gong practitioner like the death of a dog. Just take
the body out and cremate it." In April 2002, ten more practitioners detained at Chuanxi Women's Prison were
placed into confinement as punishment for their refusing to wear sign plates
identifying them as criminals or prisoner uniforms, and refusing to give up
their cultivation. Practitioner Ms. Su Nan was hung up by her handcuffs from a
window frame for 9 days and then hung up by the handcuffs with the hands behind
the back for 7 more days. She was let down only three times per day for going to
the toilet and forced feeding. Due to her hunger strikes to protest the
persecution and the torture she has been subjected to, she lost consciousness
several times. Not wanting to take responsibility, the prison officials sent her
to the Ya'an local hospital. The doctor found that Ms. Su was going to die in a
matter of days if left untreated. Many detained practitioners' lives were placed at risk by the torture. Ms.
Zhang Zhiqiong was tortured for asking to practice the Falun Gong exercises. In
protest, she began a 45-day hunger strike. After Ms. Zhang was tortured to the
point where she appeared to be mentally unstable. Later she was transferred to
Sichuan Provincial Women's Prison. Meanwhile, Ms. Zhang Hongqiong and Ms. Chen
Xiping were sent to an isolation chamber. When they went on hunger strike, they
were force-fed. During Ms. Yao Yuanzhen's confinement, the prison sent a prisoner to watch
her. During the night, the prisoner acted indecently and groped Ms. Yao as she
was hung from a window frame. Ms. Yao reported this sexual harassment to the
prison police. However, the police did not punish the prisoner, but instead
granted an early release to him. Ms. Liu Ying was confined for three months. Afraid that she would expose the
persecution, in June 2002 the prison police extended her jail term by three
years with the excuse that she distributed Teacher's articles inside the prison.
At the Sichuan Provincial Women's Prison, where Ms. Liu was transferred, the
prison officials arbitrarily extended her jail term again by four more years. In October 2002, Chuanxi Women's Prison sent detained practitioners to the
brainwashing center for further torture. They also had the word "criminal"
painted on their clothes. No. 12 prison division deputy director Gao Rong cut
off the hair of the steadfast female practitioners. She forced the practitioners
to run laps on the sports ground, and she directed prisoners to take turns
dragging the practitioners who could no longer run to keep going while punching
and kicking them. Practitioner Ms. Gao Hongxiang lost consciousness due to the
abuse. In the meantime, practitioners Ms. Peng Jing, Ms. Su Nan, and others went
on hunger strikes, and their lives are currently in danger. Ms. Jin Shaofang,
Ms. Zhang Hongqiong, Ms. Zhang Qiongfang, Ms. Jiang Zhiqing, Ms. Jiang Nianyu,
and others were tied up with rope. Ms. Peng Jing and Ms. Jiang Nianyu were
tortured constantly in an isolation chamber. Ms. Wang Jianhui was tortured so
severely that she could not walk normally for a long time. In 2003, Dafa practitioner Ms. Xiong Lizhen suffered from hypertension due to
the abuse she suffered. Practitioners Ms. Zhang Lin, Ms. Zhang Yaoqiong, Ms.
Chen Xiping, and others were pinned to the ground and force-fed. Prison police told the mentally ill criminals, "You may beat the Falun Gong
practitioners. Mentally ill persons are not accountable for any crimes,
including beating others to death." They instigated criminals in such a way to
persecute the detained Falun Gong practitioners. At the end of 2002, the
over-60-year-old practitioner Ms. Guo Qirong was tortured to death, but the
prison concealed the news. Ms. Liang Hua was beaten by criminals for up to two
hours while the prison guards watched. Many of the detained practitioners went
into group hunger strikes in protest. Education department head and deputy head
Yuan Xiaolin continually cursed Falun Dafa and insulted its founder. The prison
usually participated in inciting and encouraging criminals to help persecute
Dafa practitioners. Currently all the steadfast practitioners have been sent to

of 2001 at the College of Civil Engineering of Chongqing University. They were
suspended from school because they practice Falun Gong. For the last four years,
officials of Chongqing University refused to reinstate their student status
using the excuse that they had "failed to be transformed" (1). Based on the latest information, the official responsible for their case is
Cao Junhao, who worked in the university security department. Under orders from
the "610 Office" and school administrators, he appeared to be concerned about Wu
Jie and Mi Xiaozheng, but in fact he was still very adamant about the rule of
"No reinstatement of school status until total transformation." He has also
threatened that prolonging the current situation might lead to the total
dismissal of the two from the university. More details of their story follow: Ms. Wu Jie is 27 years old and from Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. She is
currently living in Haikou City, Hainan Province. Mi Xiaozheng is 26 years old
and from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. They were studying at the College of
Civil Engineering, District B of Chongqing University and were in the same
class. After they started practicing Falun Gong, their academic performance
dramatically improved. They were ranked in the 1st and 3rd
positions of the entire class. In addition to academic excellence, they also put
demands on themselves based on Dafa's principles of "Truth, Compassion,
Forbearance." Their standards of high virtue and their willingness to help
others left very favorable impressions upon their classmates and teachers. In July 1999, Wu Jie, Mi Xiaozheng and several other classmates went to
Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong. They wanted to tell the
government about the personal rewards they had experienced by practicing Falun
Gong. But the two students were abducted by the Appeals Office in Beijing and
sent back to their school. They were taken to a "brainwashing class" in Geleshan
City and to the university guesthouse by the "610 Office" and school officials.
There they were subjected to brainwashing in a totally isolated environment for
more than a month. Later on, the university cancelled their scholarships and put
them under surveillance. The Chancellor of Chongqing University at that time was
Zhu Jialin. In the fall of 2000, the Chongqing City Political and Judiciary Committee,
and Chongqing University officials again abducted Wu Jie and Mi Xiaozheng, and
put them in a secluded brainwashing class located at the university guesthouse.
They were coerced into choosing between practicing Dafa and being dismissed from
the university, or renouncing Falun Gong. Wu Jie and Mi Xiaozheng went on a
hunger strike to protest being persecuted. Soon afterwards they were forced to
leave the school. By that time, both of them had already completed four years of
study and only needed one more year to graduate. When they left with their
parents, District B of Chongqing University prohibited them from publicizing the
incident, similar to the discharge of Wei Xingyan (2), who also quietly left
with her parents. Nobody has heard from any of these students since their
departure. Just before the Chinese New Year in 2001, Wu Jie was abducted again when she
went to Beijing to appeal, and she was sent back to the school. She was detained
at the Baiheling Detention Center in Chongqing City for 15 days and was not
released until New Year's Eve. Ms. Wu was taken to the school's "brainwashing
class" for the third time in nearly a month and was released after protesting by
going on a hunger strike. But the school continued their suspension of her
student status. During the ordeal, Wu Jie's father traveled all the way from his
hometown and had to stay at a hotel waiting for his daughter to be released.
Both Wu Jie's and Mi Xiaozheng's parents have endured much hardship by traveling
thousands of miles from their hometowns. They also greatly suffered from
witnessing the fact that their daughters are being deprived of their university
education. In the summer of 2001, Mi Xiaozheng was abducted and taken to the
Shijiazhuang brainwashing class where she suffered severe mental tortures during
the brainwashing. Chongqing University was about to reinstate her as a student,
but eventually stopped going through with her reinstatement after finding out
that Ms. Mi was still practicing Falun Gong. Based on the latest information, both of these students and their parents
have appealed numerous times to Cao Junhao, who is responsible for their
suffering. They have asked that either the school reinstate their status as
students, or issue them a diploma. Yet the university has evaded their requests
for four years and continues to do so to this day. The torment and anguish
suffered by these two young women and their parents is indescribable. Notes (1) "Transformed" refers to a practitioner being forced to renounce Falun
Gong under severe mental and physical pressure. (2) Ms. Wei Xingyan was a graduate student at Chongqing University. She was
arrested for practicing Falun Gong and was raped by police in front of other
inmates.

in Hong Kong, I truly admired the determination and courage of Falun Gong
practitioners who insist on speaking out the truth regardless of the weather
conditions these past several years.
Although I do not practice Falun Gong, I have some friends who do. One of
them is a fifty-year-old practitioner, whose son opposed her practicing Falun
Gong for many years. As she continued to persevere in the practice, this caused
a strain in the relationship with her son to the point that the son started to
stay late at his work place and eventually didn't go home. She was heartbroken. When the Chinese government opened up (internal) travel to Hong Kong,
Shanghai was the first city allowed for travel. My friend's son traveled to Hong
Kong. When he got back to Shanghai, he went to visit his mother and said
"Mother, I understand now, Falun Gong is good."
My friend was pleasantly surprised and asked, "I told you before that Falun
Gong is good, but you didn't believe me. How do you know it is good?" The son
answered, "There are many practitioners in Hong Kong and I saw how Falun Gong
was spread there. I got to know some practitioners there, who gave me a lot of
truth-clarifying materials. Now I understand that Falun Gong is good! " My
friend was very happy and called me immediately. I was glad for her.
I would like to send out a message to Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong
"I am a Falun Gong supporter in Shanghai and practitioners in Hong Kong have my
highest respects! Please persevere until Jiang Zemin is brought to justice. " Come on, all Falun Gong friends in Hong Kong!

I wanted to tell you that while I was at the Republican National Convention
in New York, I saw the Falun Gong exhibit on Park Avenue and was very impressed.
I signed the petition that was there, and during the week, took the time to
speak to several of the Falun Gong people that were all over the city. We
were warned before we went to the convention to be careful of anti war
protesters, but I actually saw a lot more of the Falun Gong people than I did of
the other protesters! I didn't know much about the Falun Gong before I spoke with several of the
people in New York. I was amazed about the stories I heard from some of the
young people about their health problems and how the practice of Falun Gong
helped them disappear. My mother and my younger sister (who is Hindu), who live in Pennsylvania,
practice Yoga and I called them up to talk about it. They already knew about
Falun Gong and said that it was a very good practice. They also asked me
to send them the information that I received from the people in New York, so I
got extra information from the people that were out on the streets. I think it is terrible that Falun Gong is persecuted to the extent it is in
China. I myself have already been boycotting Chinese goods for some time because
I feel they use forced labor to make products, but the story of Falun Gong makes
me doubly determined to avoid Chinese goods. While I was in New York, the media interviewed us as part of the Republican
National Convention, and I attempted to ask one reporter to write a story about
Falun Gong. I asked him to come with me to talk to one of the Falun Gong
people that was on the street that was handing out literature. Unfortunately, he
declined my invitation and made a comment that [indicated he's been influenced
by the propaganda from the Chinese government]. I think that is a very
unfortunate misconception. To conclude, I think it was a great thing that the Falun Gong practitioners were
in New York this past week and I wish you all the luck in your cause. I

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 16, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan
were invited by the City government of Naga, Philippines to participate in
parade and performance of the 2004 Penafrancia Voyadores Festival. Taiwan Falun
Gong practitioners' procession including waist drum troupe, traditional Chinese
dance performance, Falun Gong exercise demonstration and float, was arranged by
the city government to lead the entire parade that contained 17 entries. The
streets were swarming with spectators and our truth-clarifying leaflets were
short of supply. We went back three times to get more leaflets. Many people who
learned about the facts of Falun Gong asked where they could learn the
exercises. Jiang's regime has been spreading lies slandering Falun Gong for more
than 5 years. Through practitioners' effort to clarify the truth, people become
more and more clearheaded, and gradually learned about the facts. During the celebration, the city government officials of Naga repeatedly
addressed all of the citizens and spectators to praise and express their
appreciation for Falun Gong practitioners' performances. Loudspeakers were
installed around each corner of the streets so that the celebration music and
speeches could be heard everywhere. The city government also issued a
proclamation to honor Taiwan Falun Dafa Association. On September 18, Philippine Daily Inquirer, the most influential
newspaper in Philippines positively reported on Falun Gong on its front page.
This was a big breakthrough over the past more than five years during which
period of time, Philippine media were afraid of positively reporting on Falun
Gong under the Jiang regime's vicious pressure. Besides the large picture on the
front page, the caption read, "Falun Gong practitioners participate in the
Penafrancia Voyadores Festival parade. Falun Gong, a traditional Chinese
self-improvement cultivation practice is unfortunately banned in China." After the news was published, the Chinese Embassy in Philippine and local
Chinese Chamber of Commerce (the Chinese Ambassador is its Honorary director)
published an article full of vicious lies defaming Falun Dafa in its business
newspaper on September 19. In an attempt to prevent Philippine people from
believing in Dafa, and even worse, to incite hatred against Dafa, the article
accused us for making troubles in their chamber of commerce. As a consequence,
when we practiced Falun Gong exercises at Manila, a Chinese person came to kick
our display boards and openly accused our practitioners. When some practitioners
tried to introduce Falun Gong and explain the persecution facts to him, he even
made the gesture to beat the practitioners. Following the principles of
Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, and trying to allow him to understand
the facts, practitioners patiently clarified the truth to him. The practitioner
even walked him to the park entrance. Taiwan Falun Gong practitioners expressed
that in order to expose the evil lies so as to prevent people from continuously
being deceived by the lies, they would reserve their legal rights to file
complaints regarding this incident.
Editor: I was amazed recently when I saw the beauty and dignity of the closing
ceremonies for the Olympic Games in Athens. I really felt that these games had a
spirit of international cooperation and competition that was healthy and good
for the global community. It was special to see the world's athletes doing their best in the very city
where the Olympics had originated in antiquity. It was so moving that I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be great if I could
take my family to see the Olympic Games in 2008?" Then I thought about where the 2008 games are being held. Beijing, China. Another city with a long history and culture that spreads
back into ancient times. Unfortunately, I cannot go to Beijing to see the 2008 Olympic Games. I am a
Falun Gong practitioner, which makes it illegal for me to enter China to see the
International Olympics even though I am an American citizen. China has made it absolutely illegal to practice Falun Gong, the peaceful
spiritual practice of truth, compassion and tolerance, punishable by torture and
death. I know what happens to Falun Gong practitioners who try to travel to China.
U.S. Citizen Charles Lee is currently being tortured and brainwashed in a
Chinese forced labor camp as I write this letter. From every report we hear from China, it seems that the Chinese policemen are
torturing Charles worse and worse. I am afraid that if the Chinese leadership doesn't change its ways before
2008 that the world may witness another tainted Olympics like occurred during
the Berlin games in 1936. That year Adolf Hitler refused to acknowledge Jesse Owens' Olympic victories
because he was black and a few years later began waging his horrible holocaust
against the Jewish people. It is now 2004 and a terrible genocide is being carried out against Falun
Gong practitioners in China. More than 100,000 peaceful citizens have been illegally detained and the
death count is in the thousands. As the world awaits the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, how many more innocent
people will die? When will China begin to join the international community, truly embrace the

in Australia reported the plight of mother, Ms. Lydia Zhao and her 15-year-old
daughter Manying Yan who reside in Hornsby, Sydney and have been unable to renew
their Chinese passports because of their practice of Falun Gong.
The report said, "A Hornsby mother and her 15-years-old daughter have been
unable to renew their Chinese passports and return to China."
The family say the passports have been denied because they practice Falun
Gong, a belief system based on principles of "truthfulness, compassion and
forbearance".
Lydia Zhao said her daughter, ManYing Yan, was desperate to return to China
to visit the grandparents she had not seen for more than five years.
"Everyone who is a Chinese citizen has a right to a passport," Ms Zhao said.
"I just feel very sad about my daughter."
ManYing, who is a St Ives High School student, said that without a passport
she was stripped of a nationality.
"It is like you don't belong anywhere, " she said.
More than two years ago, Ms Zhao and her daughter went to the Chinese
Consulate in Melbourne to renew their passports.
The two are both permanent residents in Australia, having moved from China
with Ms Zhao's husband and ManYing's father, Brain Yan in 1995.
Ms Zhao said the consulate questioned her about Falun Gong -- the practice
was banned in 1999 by former Chinese Communist Party chief Jiang Zemin.
"I told them I only do exercise in Hornsby Park every morning," she said. "I
didn't do anything wrong.."
The mother and daughter did not receive their passports and have since
written six letters to the consulate on the matter.
"We haven't heard a single word since that day," ManYing said.
The Advocate made several attempts to contact the Chinese Consulate in
Melbourne and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China. There was no
response.
Practitioners say Falun Gong, or Falun Dafa, is based on the principles of
truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.
It is practiced in more than 60 countries and has attracted some 100 million
followers.
Another practitioner and Hornsby resident, Lilian Peng, has called on Hornsby
Council to condemn the persecution of Falun Gong followers.
Ms Peng said the council should support its residents' right to "participate
in the spiritual practices of their choice."

of being a non-profit organization (NPO) from the Tokyo government on August 27,
2004. Being a Falun Dafa practitioner, I thank the Japanese people's
understanding and support. At the same time, I sincerely wish that the Japanese
people and the citizens in Tokyo benefit from Dafa and have healthy bodies and a
bright future. I have practiced Falun Gong for six years. We practitioners do the exercises
together, share experiences, and look inside ourselves during conflicts. I was
continuously enlightened to things I was previously not able to solve no matter
how I tried. I continuously experienced magical things that don't even seem
possible in my dreams, and continuously saw people rushing in wanting to learn
about Dafa. I felt my body and mind so relaxed and free, and that beauty was
beyond description. A practitioner told me one thing after he finished his doctorate in a
university. I still remember it clearly. There was a short-term researcher from
the police department who worked in the same lab with him. After they got to
know with each other, the researcher told him that the police department had
noticed Falun Gong a long time ago. Long before Dafa practitioners had
translated Zhuan Falun into Japanese, the people from the police
department had already done their own translation. On July 20, 1999, after Falun Gong was suppressed in China, the Chinese
consulate and embassy became the windows for us to express our opinions. Right
after the persecution started, the Chinese consulates told the Japanese people
that Falun Gong was similar to a cult in Japan. That made the Japanese people
very nervous. When we went to the Chinese consulate, the policemen were
sometimes very rude to us. When we applied to register as a non-profit
organization (NPO), we got a lot of interference from the Chinese consulate.
That was truly interfering Japan's internal affairs. I heard that China sent
people from the Chinese Public Safety Bureau and the Security Department to
Japan and did some research. Lies are meant to be poked through eventually. One worker in the police
department saw the Dafa practitioners standing quietly in front of the Chinese
consulate in the cold. He bought them more than ten bottles of hot tea out of
his own pocket. Often, people on motorcycles or in cars driving by shouted to
the practitioners, "Good job!" Earlier during the persecution, being poisoned by the lies from the Chinese
government, most of the Japanese people didn't like us. I remember in year 2000
when I was giving out the truth materials on a busy street, I could only give
out no more than 20 copies in one afternoon. After practitioners' unremitting
effort, millions of copies of Dafa materials were delivered to tens of thousands
of households and to the hands of the people. Now the situation is totally
different. Whenever there was a holiday, one practitioner can give out over a
thousand copies of the Falun Gong related newspaper. Applying to become an NPO was not for us. We would still practice Falun Gong
whether there was a formal NPO or not. However, because we have been approved as
an NPO, there will be more Japanese people that benefit from practicing Falun
Gong and that will be their good fortune. After knowing more and more truth
about Falun Gong, Tokyo has bypassed the interference from the Chinese Consulate
and made a wise decision. Congratulations!

authorities bandaging a perfectly healthy person One day in 2001, right after the alleged "self-immolation" incident took
place, some people who were not Falun Gong practitioners accompanied their
relatives to see doctors in the Jishuitan Hospital, in Beijing. When they passed
by a sickroom they saw a number of people inside, many of whom were policemen,
trying to bandage several other, healthy people. They thought it was strange
that they were bandaging healthy people. They then decided to stop and see what was happening. At the time a policeman
saw them and rushed out from the sickroom and tried to push them away. He
shouted to them: "What are you doing here?" At that moment other policemen also
rushed out to push them away from the door. In the end they were detained and
interrogated. They were released only when the policemen were convinced that
they were not Falun Gong practitioners. Later, they learned that the first policeman who rushed out was the head of a
certain branch office of the Xicheng branch police station of Beijing. The
bandaged people, who were perfect healthy, were the allegedly "seriously burnt
Falun Gong immolators" who had injured themselves during the incident. Fu Yibin's mental history disclosed by an insider I am a Falun Gong practitioner. Prior to her death, Fu Yibin's wife was a
very good friend of my cousin. Many years ago Fu Yibin was diagnosed as having a
mental health disorder, and he would intermittently lose control of his
faculties. His wife was very sad about this, and had frequently expressed her
concern to my cousin. Even before 1996, Fu Yibin had run outside wearing only
underpants. He had also seriously beaten his mother. His colleagues also knew he
had a mental health problem. Prior to his attack of his family he had shown signs of mental instability.
He was unable to sleep, he was frequently in a daze, and every morning his wife
saw his eyes became redder, and his manner was quite terrifying. Before the incident, all his family members had been to the home of my cousin
and his wife, had told my cousin about this matter. Later, the couple planned to
go to the home of Fu Yibin's parents, but their child insisted that they should
stay home. In the end they went without their child. After they arrived at the
home of his parents, his wife called the child by telephone and asked him to
come. Right at the time of her calling, Fu Yibin was murdering his parents.
Luckily their child was not there at that time; otherwise something bad would
have happened to him also. After Fu Yibin was sent to the Xicheng branch police station, more than 30
psychologists diagnosed him as mentally unfit to stand trial. Afterwards, he was
sent to a prison hospital for medical treatment. A policeman there said: "The
family can take him back home after two years of treatment." However, it has now been over three years since he was placed in the prison
hospital. The hospital and police have asked his family members to pick him up,
but they have refused, as they fear he will kill again. They said: "It's good
for him to live in the prison hospital because he is cared for there and the
government pays for the treatment." After the incident, my cousin was threatened by police: "You must not speak
out that he is a mentally ill." Although I knew the truth about the incident and was eager to tell the world
the truth, I could find no way to contact Minghui.org. Later, I was illegally
sentenced to re-education through forced labor. So it is only now I can clarify
the truth.

Filming & TV Bureau of Guangdong Province began to implement a system to prevent
any Falun Gong facts from appearing in any radio or TV broadcasts. To that end,
the authorities in the Bureau have pushed the accountability to its various
affiliated organizations and forced them to sign guarantee agreements. In
addition, they plan to achieve in the first half of this year the goal that "all
on-duty broadcasting staff members must pass the training for safe broadcasting
and must obtain a certificate for passing the training of 'the Booklet for Safe
Broadcasting'." The Radio, Filming & TV Bureau organized some "domain experts"
to compile the textbook. The textbook was called "The training textbook for safe
broadcasting for on-duty staff" or "the Booklet for Safe Broadcasting." The
cover was labeled "For internal distribution only. Do not spread externally,"
"By Radio, Filming and TV Bureau of Guangdong Province, May of 2004."
The "safety issue" referred in the textbook really implies Falun Gong's
tapping into cable TV and radio broadcasts. "In case of such an event, it must
be resolved in one minute and reported to the superiors level by level," the
textbook says. For example, two special telephone numbers, 86-20-61292772 and
86-20-61292722, have been set up in the Bureau for people to report the
incidents; Feng Xizeng, the Associate Director of the Bureau, is in charge of
the technology and safety issues; The Associate Director Liu Hongbing is in
charge of the programming aspects; and Wang Hui is responsible for security
issues.
Right after the "Sino Satellite Incident," the Communist Party authorities
demanded every institution not to receive any relay programs from the Sino
Satellite. In addition, they strove hard to block any attempts outside Mainland
China from transmitting signals into China. To cover up the crimes it has committed, the Jiang regime has been
controlling the media to deceive its citizens and to deprive them of the right
to know the truth. The act of Falun Gong practitioners clarifying the facts is
actually defending the freedom of speech granted by the Constitution and
protecting the basic rights of all Chinese citizens to know the truth.
(Clearwidsom.net) I first encountered Falun Dafa in July 1993 and was very
lucky to be able to attend Teacher's lectures held in Feichi Hockey Stadium in
the 8th district of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province.
I got the news about the lecture very late. By the time I heard about it, the
lecture was already sold out. Teacher's lecture was scheduled to start at 5 pm.
I went to the hockey stadium long before the lecture started. As soon as I
reached the front door, a lady approached me and asked me if I needed to buy a
ticket. She sold me a ticket for fifty yuan and led me directly to my seat. I
learned later that this lady was a stadium employee. The seat she sold me was in
a good spot, where the hockey players rested. I had a long wait after I took my
seat so I chatted with the lady. She had bought the ticket for herself but she
said she could not live up to Teacher's standard, though she knew Falun Gong is
really good. I remember her name was Zhu.
I was very blessed to get a seat. The hockey stadium held four to five
thousand people, most of whom came from other cities. As Teacher came in and
passed right by me, the audience applauded eagerly. Teacher is tall and well
built, dressed that day in a short-sleeved white shirt. He walked gently toward
the center area of the stadium accompanied by the warm applause of the audience.
I could hardly believe that I could have this great predestination to see our
Teacher. He was standing right in front of me teaching the universal law.
While I was listening to the lecture, Teacher's face appeared to me to be the
image of a Buddha. At that time I did not have a good understanding of the Fa. I
was eager to see the Buddha image more clearly. When I tried to focus hard I
could not see anything. Whenever I did not have the attachment to see and
concentrated on the lecture, the image of Buddha then reappeared.
Teacher cared much about Harbin practitioners, so he gave a special lecture at the Harbin Workers' Union. Since we only had very limited understanding of the Fa,
Teacher stopped in the middle of his lecture, and asked everyone to feel the
spinning of Falun on his or her palms.
In order to help the practitioners in Harbin upgrade themselves as quickly as
possible, Teacher even arranged an experience sharing with practitioners from
other cities at the Harbin Teachers' University stadium. Teacher went there in
the company of a practitioner.
One day, after the lecture, I quietly watched Teacher as he stood not more
than two feet from me, listening to a report from a practitioner. Teacher looked
much younger than his picture and looked very kind. I had no thoughts at all at
that moment but just stood there and stared. I could not believe that I could
really be so close to Him. After the lecture, after most practitioners had gone,
I also prepared to leave, but before I left I could not help but turn back look
again. At that moment I found that Teacher was watching me too.
The next few times I saw Teacher coming out from the stadium I clapped my
hands like many other practitioners did. I remember that on the last day of the
lecture that Teacher's image as a Buddha appeared as clearly as though a Buddha
statue had been placed onstage. Teacher, in the Buddha's image, began to give
the lecture. Later on, the Buddha image disappeared and the place where Teacher
sat shone with golden light. Teacher's voice was the only sound in the stadium.
After the whole series of lectures was finished, many practitioners offered silk
banners to show their gratitude and respect. Teacher announced that several
exercise sites would be established in Harbin and appointed several assistants
to help practitioners.
At last, Teacher concluded the lecture. I cannot recall many of the words but
deep in my heart I know that this kind of opportunity, to listen to Teacher's
lecture in person, is very rare. I know that Teacher is great and that we have
to believe in Him. Teacher told every practitioner in the stadium that we all
have a deep predestination with him. Teacher also told practitioners to remember
his words whenever practitioners confront any kind of tribulation: "It's hard to
endure, but you can endure it. It's hard to do, but you can do it."
In the end, Teacher made a series of hand gestures toward one direction of
the stadium and then made a circle with his right hand toward all of the
practitioners.
Every time I recall this experience it feels more precious to me. Teacher's
voice and countenance, the hardship he endures for the sentient beings,
encourage and inspire me and have become an ever-lasting precious memory which
accompanies me forward on the bright road of Fa-rectification.
(Clearwisdom.net) What Dafa disciples should do well is three things: study
the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts and clarify the truth. We must pay
attention to every word and deed in our everyday lives as all of them will
either validate Dafa or damage the reputation of Falun Dafa. If practitioners do well, people will say: "See how good Falun Dafa
practitioners are, and how high their virtue is." This will spread widely from
one to many people, which is validating Dafa. If we don't do well, we may cause
damage to Dafa. For example, when we have contact with other people in everyday
society, or when we share experiences with other practitioners, if we get upset
when somebody says something bad about us, or someone talks bad behind our
backs, or if we are then furious and argue with them, then this is damaging Dafa;
this is not putting Dafa first, but putting ourselves first. Master reiterates that we should read the Fa more and study the Fa more. But
what is the purpose of studying the Fa more? It is to improve our behavior and
is instructing us to have righteous thoughts and righteous behavior according to
Dafa. "Study the Fa and obtain the Fa, Share in learning and share in cultivating, Following [the Fa] in everything, Compliance is cultivation." (Hong Yin--"Solid Cultivation") If we don't emphasize the improvement of our behavior and if we don't measure
ourselves by Dafa when studying, then it is just like reading a novel. It will
not work and no matter how much we study the Fa, it will be in vain. If we still
behave the same as we did before after we study the Fa, and use everyday
people's thoughts to deal with things, this is not what Dafa disciples should
do. This is just a little personal experience; please kindly point out anything
improper.
(Clearwisdom.net) I was very distressed after reading two articles, "Lessons
from Sickness Tribulations" and "Take Control of Every Thought and Cherish the
Opportunity to Cultivate." Several fellow practitioners in our area have died
after getting illness symptoms, and there remain people who are still interfered
by sickness and unable to escape their abnormal states.
In fact, this arrangement of the old forces has severely interfered with the
three things that Falun Dafa practitioners should do well, thus affecting
everyday people's understanding of truth of Dafa. From sharing with fellow
practitioners, I realized that when the evil persecutes practitioners with the
"elimination of sickness karma," we all know to get rid of it with righteous
thoughts, but we often cannot induce the desired result. I think the occurrence
of this situation is very likely brought on by our unconscious acknowledgements
of the arrangements of the evil, and so we are allowing it to take advantage of
this loophole.
The author of the aforementioned article affirms in his writing: "We came to
the understanding that his death may be a test for us all to see if we will continue to cultivate after seeing a diligent fellow practitioner pass away." My understanding is that, in today's process of Fa-rectification, the issue
is not of passing tests, but of the evil's interference and harm. Dafa
practitioners are saving sentient beings, the most important and sacred thing.
However, the old forces want to destroy everything using the excuses of
"tribulations," "passing tests" and "eliminating karma" to "help Dafa
practitioners advance."
When Teacher answered the question, "Why do the old forces dare to kill Dafa
disciples in the persecution?" He said,
"What's their goal? To have you see that studying Dafa isn't like having
some kind of insurance and that you still need to do well, and that not
doing well is a problem. So they're doing that kind of thing, and it's
because they see personal cultivation as more important than validating the
Fa. Also, they're doing these things in this time during Fa-rectification
when Dafa disciples are urgently needed in saving sentient beings--aren't
they causing serious trouble? How many beings can a Dafa disciple save while
he's in this world, right? Isn't that doing something bad?" (Explaining
the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference)
As Dafa practitioners in the Fa-rectification period, it is our great mission
to perform the three things well in accordance with Teacher's requirements and
save sentient beings. What the old forces are doing during this period is not
only tormenting Dafa practitioner's individual bodies and lives, but interfering
with and damaging the prospects of the salvation of the sentient beings. This
means they are actually cruelly killing sentient beings and impairing the Fa-rectification.
We must comprehensively negate the arrangements of the old forces and absolutely
reject their persecution of Dafa practitioners through the "elimination of
sickness karma," or we will be allowing them to use this excuse to damage the Fa-rectification.
We must also have a clear understanding of this issue, for even the slightest
ambiguity is enough to create loopholes the evil can take advantage of to bring
loss to the Fa-rectification.
A while ago, I myself had continuing symptoms of "eliminating sickness
karma," and I would now like to share my understandings on this matter.
On a night in May 2004, I suddenly felt acute pain on the right side of my
back, and it did not subside even after a lengthy period of time. Afterwards, I
started to vomit, and once in a while I even acted somewhat unbalanced. I
realized it was the interference of the evil, so I tried to maintain firm
thoughts and clear-headedness. I sent forth righteous thoughts to weed out the
evil, and, at the same time, I asked Teacher for help. The situation gradually
improved, and because I had to go to work on the following day, I
reminded myself, "All my colleagues know I practice Falun Gong, I cannot have
these symptoms at work. Will that not damage the image of Dafa?" And then I sent
forth these righteous thoughts: "No matter how painful it is, it must not affect
my work." As expected, I was fine at work, and I did not even feel tired after
having slept little the previous night. But after arriving home, I felt the
discomfort again on and off, and this was the norm for several days until
it finally disappeared.
Not long after that, I started having black stools on consecutive occasions.
I once had a duodenal ulcer before practicing Falun Gong, and when my illness
became serious, I had digestive tract hemorrhage, which caused black stools. But
it had only happened once or twice and never lasted long, so I did not pay
attention to this reoccurrence of symptoms at first. Two days later, I lost an
excessive amount of blood, which is usually a sign of an internal organ
hemorrhage. I started to breathe heavily while climbing stairs, and I
immediately felt dizzy whenever I sat down. Afterwards, my face grew yellow and
my palpitation sped up, and although I sent forth righteous thoughts throughout
that period, it had no apparent impact. It was then that I began wondering, "Had
I signed a pact with the old forces to pass away early?"
I realized the severity of the problem, and so I calmed down to look inwards,
seeking the knowledge of whether or not I feared death and whether the old
forces were taking advantage of such a loophole. After a peaceful consideration,
I enlightened to the truth that, as a practitioner, I am not afraid of death.
But even so I cannot consent to any previous arrangements or pacts with the old
forces. If a Dafa practitioner dies, what will his or her relatives, friends,
classmates and colleagues think of Dafa? We have done so much to let people who
have been poisoned by the propaganda understand the truth, but will this not
simply propel them back down the wrong path? Some people may even turn to the
opposite side, and then countless lives would be destroyed! We must not
authorize this arrangement. Or not only will we lose the chance to save sentient
beings, but we will also be used by the old forces to do perverse deeds. Would
we not be aiding the old forces then? With these thoughts in mind, I sent forth
righteous thoughts: "Admit under no circumstances the old forces' arrangements.
Clear away all the evil interference." After I finished sending forth righteous
thoughts, I suddenly grew energetic, and all the "symptoms of illness" quickly
vanished.
Afterwards, I felt something was amiss. I recalled the process of ridding
myself of the interference of "sickness karma" and how oftentimes I could not
achieve the proper effect after sending forth righteous thoughts to clear away
the evil, and this made me feel a bit enervated. So where was my problem? I
calmed down to study the Fa and to look inwards, and I finally discovered that
the problem was that certain fellow practitioners, including myself, had not
understood the meaning of Fa-rectification well enough.
As practitioners, our cultivation is now focused on validating the Fa and
saving sentient beings. During this process, we improve ourselves, walk on our
own paths well and establish Dafa practitioners' mighty virtue, and this is
really what Teacher wants us to achieve. However, it seems as though we still
retain certain habits and understandings from the stage of personal cultivation
deep in our consciousness such as looking inwards to check our xinxing (1) when
there is a problem, suffering to eliminate our karma, cultivating ourselves
during tribulations, passing tests in our cultivation and so on.
Because of this kind of understanding, when the tribulation of "sickness
karma" arises, we unconsciously think that it is reasonable, that it is to
"eliminate our karma" and that we are undertaking a "tribulation" or a "test."
Thereby, we then look inwards and cultivate ourselves. But isn't this accepting
the arrangements of the old forces? When we send forth righteous thoughts with
other things in mind, can the effect be desirable? And so the evil takes
advantage of our loopholes again and again. It is not wrong to cultivate
ourselves during the interference, but this should be to eliminate the
interference and harms of the evil, not to pass the so called "tests" in their
arrangement.
Furthermore, when we send forth righteous thoughts to clear away the
interference of "sickness karma," need we proceed under the guise of eliminating
other things? It is almost as though we are saying, "I am eliminating you only
because you have interfered with my truth clarification and the salvation of
sentient beings, but it does not matter if my own karma is not cleared." Are we
not recognizing their arrangements again? With the arrangements of the old
forces, why must we distinguish between good and bad, extinguishing them when we
can find reasons to do so, but feeling unconfident and lacking energy otherwise.
Actually, our unclear understanding of the old forces and their interference is
the cause of our lack of energy when sending forth righteous thoughts, which
then produces those undesirable effects.
Teacher said:
"When you encounter ordeals during your cultivation, you have got to
cultivate yourself and look at yourself--that doesn't mean acknowledging the
ordeals arranged by the old forces and trying to do well amidst the ordeals
they've arranged, that's not the case. We negate even the very emergence of
the old forces and everything that they've arranged; we don't even
acknowledge their existence. We're fundamentally negating all of their
things, and all of, and only, the things you do while negating and getting
rid of them is mighty-virtue. It's not that you're cultivating amidst the
ordeals they created. Rather, you are to walk your own path well while not
acknowledging them, not even acknowledging the elimination of their ordeals'
manifestations."

We must negate all the arrangements of the old forces, even their existence.
And whatever they do during this Fa-rectification and no matter the form that
the interference manifests, we must not acknowledge it and firmly eliminate it.
We need not find reasons for the interference, but only clear them away in an
open and dignified way. Moreover, we do not aim to conquer the ordeals caused by
the old forces' persecution and to eliminate the ordeals themselves. Instead, we
must completely eliminate the entirely of the old forces and disallow their
existence.
We must do the three things well as required by Teacher in an open and
dignified way: validate Dafa, save the sentient beings and walk on our own path
well.
This is my limited understanding. Please kindly correct me if there are any
mistakes.
(1) xinxing: heart or mind nature, moral character
(Clearwisdom.net) While talking about how to make Dafa materials, I felt
Teacher's great benevolence. I am 60 years old and was only educated to the
third grade. Not long ago, I was captured and sent to a brainwashing class, two
months after I was released from a detention center. At the brainwashing class,
I saw that the police viciously tortured young and educated practitioners,
especially those who were involved in producing Dafa materials. As a result,
most of them were sentenced for a long period of time. Once I had a conversation
with a policeman. I asked him the reason for long-term sentences given to young
and well-educated practitioners; the policeman simply replied that locking up
those practitioners would reduce the production of Dafa materials. After that
conversation I thought that if the educated practitioners are arrested, then the
less educated practitioners like me should learn how to make Dafa materials.
After I got back from the brainwashing class, I was responsible for delivering the Dafa materials. I could not share ideas with the other practitioners,
because I had no knowledge about electronic equipment except for turning them on
and off. I could not even handle the on-off button of the TV. However, since I
thought about this, Teacher made arrangements for me.
One day, a practitioner suggested creating a Dafa information center at my
home, including myself and another practitioner. She promised to teach us to use
the computer. But where would I find a person who could work with me? Some
practitioners were too afraid. Finally, I found a female practitioner A, who was
responsible for material delivery, just like me. But she was disabled and also
had less education. Nevertheless, the Dafa information center was created.
At the beginning, the practitioner taught us step by step with patience. She made sure that we could handle ourselves before she left for other
responsibilities. We knew how to handle the computer when she was there beside us. But, as soon as she stepped out the door, we forgot the whole thing. I had
learned how to type using a single finger for several days. Sometimes I was so
tired that I got cramps in my hands. Practitioner A was younger and learned
things faster than me. By the time we learned how to turn the computer on and
off, we had screwed up the computer system. The practitioner, who taught us and
had a better education and computer skills, encouraged us not to give up. She
had the computer system reinstalled. When we saw that the computer was moved in
and out of our house, we were worried about being watched by the police.
The practitioner with the computer skills also taught us how to download,
print and organize the Minghui website articles when they came out. She also
walked us through the whole process and put together the weekly articles as an
example of how to make pamphlets. She was very busy and did not have enough time to
watch the whole process again. She left before making sure that we knew how to
operate the computer. However, after she left, we forgot some of the things. We
ended up spending a whole night to make six Minghui weekly pamphlets, and did
not quite finish the job. Finally, we had to reprint some of the missing pages
and paste them in the pamphlets.
We also had quite a lot disruption. Practitioner A went to work during the day.
When we just started the information center, she had met with a car accident and
one of her collarbones was swollen. Yet she was very firm and insisted on going
to buy paper and ink. I saw she was too tired and offered to go out shopping
with her in order to get a large quantity of the materials required. We ended up
getting a whole box of paper. As the money was from the fellow practitioners and
was to be used for Dafa materials, we did not want to spend that money on a
taxi. We tied the paper box on the backseat of the bicycle. I was holding the
bike and practitioner A was holding the box on the back. On the road back home,
A's hands slipped, and the entire box of paper fell onto my ankle. I felt great
pain, which was hard to bear. I walked slowly back home on my injured ankle. I
saw that A was dragging the big box using her uninjured hand.
After days of practice, we were able to independently handle the information
center. Now, we can get on the website, download and print the files, and we can
also type. We soon will learn how to make books.
The reason behind telling my story is to let everyone know the following:
Don't be afraid. We have Teacher with us and have Dafa with us, as long as we
listen Teacher's words, and do the three things well and deny the old force
arrangements, we can do everything.
(Clearwisdom.net) This is a hopeful story about a Chinese foreign exchange student in Belgium. "Falun Gong?" he said, and he slid his finger across his throat making a
croaking sound, saying as much as, yes, if they find you with this in China, you
are a dead man. Anyway, he started reading--or, rather, intensely absorbing--the
leaflet. He read for a long time. It made me happy.
(Clearwisdom.net) Followers of Jiang's regime are striving to employ all
economic means in attempting to force Falun Dafa practitioners to give up their
beliefs. After suffering severe torture during imprisonment, many practitioners
discover upon returning home that their permanent resident registers have been
erased and their graduation records and diplomas confiscated. Thus, even with
higher education, these practitioners cannot find jobs commensurate with their
education and constantly struggle for survival. Without proper identification,
the practitioners often suffer discrimination, adding further misfortune to
their lives after they suffer so much amidst their imprisonment.
I once felt indignant, distressed and helpless when faced with these
circumstances until a friend of mine, who is lawyer, explained to me that as
long as the lawsuit deadline (within two years, not counting the time they are
being illegally imprisoned) has not passed, practitioners can sue the police
stations, asking for the replacement of their registration and identification,
and they can even request that their schools reissue proofs of graduation. ID is
an important legal document, particularly in China since without permanent
residence registration, one can be forced away from one's home. Without requests
made by the persons themselves, no one is allowed to transfer or suspend these
records. He also told me that he had already helped a practitioner win this type
of lawsuit. And afterwards, the police station made appropriate corrections
within a few days and his education record was reissued. This Dafa practitioner
had graduated from a respected institution, specializing in a field of high
demand. He was soon offered new employment with a monthly salary in the four to
five thousand yuan range, which not only covered his survival expenses, but also
gave him the ability to engage in much work clarifying the truth. On this
issue, my friend felt confident and elated in knowing that he could finally
fight for the legitimate rights and interests of Dafa practitioners. He
instructed me to tell practitioners who have suffered similar treatment to
follow suit and sue the police stations in court, for their cases will be
accepted and they will win their lawsuits.
Through this, I realized that Dafa practitioners must apply righteous
thoughts to deal with unjust treatment, and righteous behavior to eliminate the
arrangements of the old forces. Dafa practitioners have the historic mission of
aiding Teacher in rectifying the Fa, and so we absolutely must not accommodate
persecution. We should instead follow wholeheartedly the righteous way arranged
by Teacher, and if the old forces persecute us, we should use the opportunity to
clarify the truth and obtain our rights. From the beginning of the persecution,
Jiang's regime has deprived the lawyers and others in Mainland China's legal
system of their concerns for Falun Gong, effectively suppressing their
conscience. We thus need to use every opportunity to clarify the facts and save
the sentient beings.
(Clearwisdom.net) [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Two Falun Dafa Practitioners Are Arrested In late May of 2004, Mr. Dong Tingyuan, a 48-year-old practitioner from the
Tiexi District of Shenyang City, was arrested by national security police in
Jinzhou City. Another practitioner whose name is unknown was abducted as well.
Currently Dong Tingyuan is being detained in the Tiexi District Detention Center
in Wangjiahezi, Shenyang City. Before the arrest, Dong Tingyuan had been

86-24-25205437 [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Liu Yantao's Life Is in Great
Danger Mr. Liu Yantao, a practitioner about 37 years old from the Tiexi District of
Shenyang City, is currently being detained in the Provincial Hospital of the
Prison Administrative Bureau. He is on a hunger strike to protest the torture.
His life is in great danger. [Faku County, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Shao Fushan's Life Is in Danger Mr. Shao Fushan, a practitioner from Faku County, is 38 years old. He was
illegally taken to the brainwashing class in the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp. He
went on a hunger strike to protest his illegal detention. His life is in grave
danger and he is undergoing emergency treatment in the Shenyang No. 9 People's
Hospital. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] A New Round of Persecution of Falun Dafa
Practitioners On July 20, 2004, Chifeng City initiated a new round of persecution of Falun
Dafa practitioners. The first three practitioners arrested in Linxi County were
Ms. Liu Wei, around fifty years old, who was abducted from her home; Mr. Pan
Zhenqi, in his sixties, who has been detained in forced labor camps and
brainwashing classes many times; and a practitioner from Linxi Copper Mine,
whose name is unknown. On August 1 in Linxi County, a site that produces materials that tell the
truth about Falun Dafa was sabotaged. Printing machines were confiscated and a
practitioner whose last name is Jiang was arrested. The practitioner jumped from
the third floor in order to escape torture, which resulted in a broken pelvis.
The practitioner is now in Chifeng Hospital. On August 3, practitioner Jiang Zhiguo was abducted from work. Practitioner
Gao Xuesong was abducted at the same time. Both of them have been submitted for

in Shiyan City. In 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal to the government on
behalf of Falun Dafa and was sentenced to two years of forced labor. On July 12, 2004, people from her work unit and from the local "610 Office"
secretly abducted her and took her to a brainwashing class. Li Cui resolutely
resisted all the torture and would not give up her belief. On August 20, 2004,
Li Cui was sentenced to forced labor, again in secret. She was subjected to
torture somewhere outside of Shiyan City. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Engineer Pan Yuhong Is Detained Ms. Pan Yuhong is an engineer with the Fuzhou Industry Research Institute and
a Falun Gong practitioner as well. At midnight on June 1, 2004, Ye Zhaosen, who
works for the "610 Office" of Fuzhou City, the Public Security Bureau, and the
National Security Team, together with seven policemen, unlawfully broke into Pan
Yuhong's home. Without showing any ID or legal documents, they started to search
her home, turning things upside down. Then they abducted Pan Yuhong to a place
on Tonghu Road, where they handcuffed her arms above her head and interrogated
her. They tried to coerce her into giving up cultivation practice and revealing
the names of other practitioners she knew. On June 10, Pan Yuhong was taken to the No. 1 Detention Center for
intensified persecution. Because she refused to give up the practice of Falun
Dafa, the police illegally sentenced her to one year of forced labor and

Sun Yingchun Lianshui practitioner Liu Jiarong has benefited a lot from practicing Falun
Dafa. Due to his unshakable belief in Falun Dafa and his willingness to openly

Sentenced to Forced Labor Yang Wenqing, a practitioner in Xupu County, runs a hotel in her own
residence. She would leave Falun Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials on a
desk in the living room for the convenience of her customers so that they could
find out about Falun Dafa. In May, a group of policemen broke into her home.
Without any justification, they turned things upside down and confiscated Falun
Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials. The police abducted her as well and
held her in a detention center. Yang Wenqing went on a hunger strike in protest against this torture since
she believes that she did nothing wrong. The local "610 Office" was afraid of
the consequences of holding her and sent her home. On August 13, the police
broke into her home again. Without showing any ID or legal documents, they
forced her to accompany them. Yang Wenqing was then unjustly sentenced to one

searched his home and confiscated about 300 videotapes, including a Falun Dafa
Exercise Instruction tape, some self-recorded tapes and many blank tapes. Liu's
wife was asked to sign the list of confiscated items, but she refused. After the
search, Liu's wife discovered that some jewelry worth 3000 yuan had disappeared.

Danger due to Torture Zhang Liyou, a practitioner in Yushu City, was arrested because of his belief
in Falun Dafa. In the detention center, he was subjected to torture. Then he was

labor camp, the police guards shocked him with electric batons until he lost

Unlawfully Abducted In May, someone who claimed to be a salesperson promoting cosmetic products
reported on Gao Dandi and his wife Chen Chunli. The "610 Office" in Tianhe
District illegally searched their residence and abducted them. After she was
tortured in the brainwashing class in Tianhe District, Chen Chunli was taken to
the Tianhe District Detention Center where she remains. Gao Dandi's whereabouts

Arrested On the morning of November 2003, Ms. Qin Cuilian, a teacher from Fuxin

Arrested While Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials On August 20, 2004, Mr. Zhao Qingtang, Ms. Zhang Yumei, and Ms. Zhang Cuiqing,
all from Liumao Township in Jixi City, were surrounded and reported by people
who had been poisoned by the hate propaganda of Jiang's regime. The police
arrested them and detained them in Jixi City's No.2 Detention Center. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Bai Yuxiu Is Arrested Ms. Bai Yuxiu, a practitioner from Anshan City, was abducted and detained in

Security Team, together with many policemen, wrongfully arrested Chen Miao, a
practitioner from Linghai City They searched Chen's home without justification

Unknown After Arrest Ms. Zhu Jialin, in her sixties, lived in the Zhulinchun Dormitory in Sichuan
Province. In mid-August, she was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying
cards in Qingchengshan. Currently her whereabouts are unknown. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Zhu Li Is Abducted in an
Internet Cafe Mr. Zhu Li, in his thirties, lived at 420 Plant in Chengdu City. He was
temporarily employed in Suining City. On July 24, he was abducted in an Internet
Cafe. On July 30, his wife went to visit him, but the police did not allow them
to meet. Presently, Zhu Li's whereabouts are unknown.

Solemn Statement
My husband's sister is a Falun Dafa practitioner. From her I saw how Falun
Dafa changed a person to be better and better. During her detention, we were
afraid that she might not be released. So I wrote a so-called "Guarantee
Statement" for her, in which I wrote sentences defaming Dafa. As I look back, I
really regret it and feel very bad. Right now, seeing her continuing to have a
meaningful life and remain determined, even after so many tribulations, I am
convinced. I think it is Dafa that gives her the strength. I also thank Dafa for
saving her. Through this I have also learned my lesson and I am regretful for my
previous defamation of Dafa. Meanwhile, I also declare that the "Guarantee
Statement" I wrote previously is null and void. I will remember that Falun Dafa
is good. I will take opportunities to tell people that Falun Dafa is good, so
that I can make up the loss I caused.

Dafa. I know Dafa is for people to do good deeds and become better people.
However, in the beginning of 2004, when the police persecuted my mother, I
burned Teacher's picture. Right now, I am extremely regretful. Here, I am making
a Solemn Statement. From now on, I will never do things that harm Dafa, and I
will remember "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" forever. I will also
take opportunities to tell people that Falun Dafa is good, and to make up for

(Clearwisdom.net) Perpetrators and their crimes Jing Guiquan, head of the Dongchang District National Security Brigade in
Tonghua City, Jilin Province, persecutes Dafa practitioners. Around late July
2004, Jing Guiquan arrested a Falun Dafa practitioner in her 60s who used to
live at Xinzhan in Tonghua City. He beat the practitioner all over her body and
interrogated her to find out where she got her Dafa flyers. Because the
practitioner refused to tell, he tied her legs and her hands to a chair and
shocked her with electric batons. The practitioner's internal organs were
injured and she developed heart problems from the electric shocks. He sent the
practitioner to a detention center with scars all over her body and face. The
practitioner vomited blood and her heart stopped beating occasionally. The
detention center was afraid of taking responsibility and questioned Jing Guiquan,
who admitted that he had tortured the practitioner. In the winter of 2002, perpetrators Ge Feng, Wang Fei and others from
Chaoyang Township, Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province abducted Falun Dafa
practitioner Ms. Li Meiyu. Ge Feng grabbed Li Meiyu's hair and dragged her to a
police vehicle when her shoes fell off. He put her into the police vehicle
barefooted. Ge Feng and other perpetrators ransacked Falun Dafa practitioners' homes many
times and Zhang Yuchun participated frequently in the persecution of Dafa
practitioners. He was in a car accident recently and his face was disfigured.
Wang Fei used to lock Dafa practitioners in a room and beat them. Facts of the Persecution On May 16, 2004 when Falun Dafa practitioner Shao Minggang was arrested by
perpetrators from Jinzhou National Security Bureau, his family and relatives
were very concerned. According to an inmate detained in the same cell as Shao
Minggang, Dafa practitioner Mr. Shao has been holding a hunger strike ever since
he was arrested and he is now at the brink of death. It was learned that Shao
Minggang was sent to a forced labor camp on August 30. Because he is near death,
the labor camp refused to take him. The head of the city police department
personally instructed those in charge for him to be held at a labor camp for
three years. On August 7, 2003, perpetrators in Shihezi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
abducted Dafa practitioner Zhao Aijun and sent him to the police department's
Criminal Police Division. They cuffed his hands behind his back, tied the cuffs
with a rope and hung him up for nearly three hours. In January 2000, Dafa
practitioner Wang Jinping from Kelamayi did the Dafa exercises at the Wusu
Forced Labor Camp. The perpetrators beat and kicked him, they dragged him in
circles and forced him to squat on one leg for several hours. His other leg is
disabled. In August 2001, the perpetrators forced him to squat and they put a
cactus beneath his buttocks. The spikes poked into his flesh, which later caused
an infection over a large area. In September 2001, an inmate beat practitioner
Wang Jinping with a pickax handle until he became incontinent. My name is Bo Zaijin. I am a 68-year-old male retired teacher, who lived in
Shangbo Village, Puji Town, Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province. Because I practice
Falun Gong, the perpetrators ransacked my home, detained me, fined me, tortured
me and have withheld my pension since July 20, 1999. As a result of these mental
and physical tortures, I lost sight in my left eye and have difficulty meeting
my living expenses because they withheld my pension. The perpetrators at Handan City's Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province
persecute Dafa practitioners and savagely torture them. One of practitioner Li
Chang's kidneys and his hand were damaged from the beating. The perpetrators
ordered inmates to jab Li Changping's hands with needles. They also tortured him
in other ways so that Li Changping was later hospitalized for a long time.
Practitioner Yang Xiaoming's lungs accumulated fluid and he was severely
injured. Practitioner Chang Junkai was deaf in one ear from beatings.
Practitioner Bu Zhanmeng developed severe heart problems from torture. Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Yufeng, 58-years-old, lived in the Kuancheng
District, Changchun City. After July 20, 1999 she clarified the truth at the
provincial government twice and was arrested on both occasions. She went to
Beijing to appeal and was arrested and held at the Balipu Detention Center in
Changchun City where she was held for 15 days. On March 8, 2002, Liu Yufeng was
sent to the Daguang Detention Center in violation of the Chinese constitution
where she was held for two weeks and then sentenced to one-and-a-half years of
forced labor. During her labor camp stay, Liu Yufeng suffered tremendous
physical and mental torture. In late August, police officers from Huiqu Township's Police Station abducted
practitioners Mr. Ma Hongxiang, Mr. Wang Jinxiang, Mr. Liu from Anqiu, Weifang
City, Shandong Province, who were distributing truth clarification materials in
Huiqu Township. Their current whereabouts are unknown. As of April 2004 and particularly since July and August, Dafa practitioners
in Chenzhou, Hunan Province were arrested. They include Li Hui, Li Zhanxian,
Huang Liying, Dai Min, Yan Yong, Cao Pingqing and his wife. In Guiyang County
and Anren County, the perpetrators from the "610 Office" arrested several Dafa
practitioners, including Duan Bangxiao and Wang Yeqing, who was sent to a labor
camp for a second time. In 2003, the perpetrators from Anren County went to
Yongxing County and arrested a dozen practitioners. Five family members were
also persecuted. Five practitioners were given long-term prison sentences and
some practitioners were beaten until their legs were fractured. Forty-seven-year-old Dafa practitioner Liu Zhencai in Luanjiahe Village,
Zhangxing Town, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province was healthy and he had a happy
family. After July 22, 1999, Liu Zhencai and his family members were arrested.
His wife was sentenced to two years of forced labor in October 2000, and Liu
Zhencai was sent to a brainwashing class where he gave up his Dafa practice due
to torture and brainwashing.

from Slovakia and the Czech Republic organized an activity to attract the
attention of the public: they demonstrated the torture methods which are used on
practitioners of Falun Gong in China.
Many passers-by stopped to read information on the display boards next to the
torture exhibits. They learned that former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin personally
instigated a brutal campaign of suppression against 100 million innocent Falun
Gong practitioners, which has now lasted over five years. Many people stepped up
to the table to sign the petition and show their disapproval of the persecution.
One young man could not believe that something like this could be taking
place in Chinese prisons and forced labor camps. He said, "I know the situation
in our prisons and there is nothing like that happening here." But after looked
at the photographs of actual torture victims, he realized that it was true and
expressed his condemnation. An older man passing by also could not believe it,
saying, "Goodness, how is something like that possible? It is their national
pastime and yet they torture and persecute them in this way... I wish you all
the best!" In this way, many people had an opportunity to learn the truth about
the persecution of Falun Gong in China and help us to stop it as soon as
possible.

Chengnu to rescue this Falun Gong practitioner who is illegally imprisoned in
China. Ms. Gao is the wife of a Korean citizen. The association held a press
conference on August 24, 2004 and called on all circles to help and participate
in the rescue. At the same time, a website for the rescue is set up, and
signatures are being collected in South Korea. Korean CBN and CBC TV stations, along with several newspapers reported
details about Gao Chengnu's imprisonment and the related rescue effort. The
media also interviewed Ms. Gao's husband and members of the rescue association.
The Korean CBN and CBC TV stations again played the facts of the staged
Tiananmen Self-immolation incident and told viewers that Jiang's regime framed
and persecuted Falun Gong using such means. Korean citizen Guo Binggao and Korean Chinese Ms. Gao married on May 18,
2003. During the processing of Ms. Gao's immigration documents, the Chinese
authorities refused to issue her a passport because she practiced Falun Gong.
She was illegally arrested on May 7, 2004 and imprisoned in the Jiamusi Forced
Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province. It was learned that Ms. Gao has been
tortured and brainwashed since being arrested and imprisoned.

While it is true that a former Chinese leader instituted a brutal and violent
persecution against those who practice Falun Dafa in China, this discipline now
has its place in Virginia. I am a non-Chinese American who learned Falun Dafa
(also called Falun Gong) four years ago. Falun Gong practitioners kindly
volunteered their time to teach the exercises to my husband and me. We also
visited their homes to watch 10 weeks of videos, the better to understand the
holistic teachings.
Since then, the pain in my lower back that I endured for 16 years has
disappeared. Also, upon understanding Falun Gong's emphasis on self-reflection,
I uncovered my own selfishness - a discovery that helped me make positive
changes in my life. And I didn't have to go to China to learn this.
Given the contributions these Chinese immigrants made to our community, I don't
believe we should turn a blind eye to the suffering of their families in China.
Nor should we ignore the fact that they endured local harassment from the
Chinese Embassy. Since this persecution began in 1999, Falun Gong practitioners
have never asked us Americans to fight for them. But at the very least, by
issuing local proclamations, we should stand by them.

A Conversation with A Chinese Foreign Exchange Student in Belgium
I work at a company that provides an industrial cleaning service. For the summer
holidays, the company employs students who want to make some extra money during
the summer. They also have a very open policy towards foreigners.
This week, riding home in a van from the steel factory we had been working at, a
Falun Gong flyer I had given to the foreman was lying on the dashboard. The
person sitting next to me picked it up, and the foreman told me that the Asian
student in the back was from China. I took the flyer and showed it to him,
saying with a smile: "You know what this is, don't you?" He returned the smile
and took the flyer. I said: "The media in China claims it's a big problem in
China, doesn't it?"
When we got out of the van, I asked him if he personally had known of people
being arrested. At that moment he immediately became very evasive to the point
of almost running away. I asked him: "Ha, you had to sign a paper when you left,
didn't you?" This made him smile, and he regained some of his confidence.
During our conversation the student alternated between genuine interest and
great apprehension. At one point he showed real fear that I might actually be
some undercover agent working for the Chinese government sent to test his
loyalty. Indeed, the persecution extends abroad, and the deviousness of Jiang's
followers seems to know no limits when it comes to the persecution of Falun Dafa.
He then asked me how long I had been practicing Falun Gong, and if I had a
Master. "Li Hongzhi", I said. He nodded in understanding.
He said he was from Beijing. I asked about the anti-Falun Gong campaign on
television, and he said he didn't watch TV. Then he asked me why I practiced
Falun Gong, what I was looking for, how I felt. When I was talking, he suddenly
added: "Yes, and your diseases have vanished!"
I had completely forgotten that I had been at home for nearly two months with an
injured Achilles tendon when I started practicing Falun Gong, and it disappeared
in two weeks, to never hinder me again.
There was such a wealth of meaning in how he said this. He was acknowledging a
truth he had heard many times before. He knew Falun Dafa was good. The people in
China know Falun Dafa is good. They remember how it was, how it brought change
to the world. The Chinese people think: finally a blessing to come over us,
bringing peace and good fortune, and then they (Jiang's faction) outlaw it.
Worse, they cruelly attempt to destroy it.
Yes, the Chinese people fear the cruelty of the persecution, but their memories
won't lie to them! They know, in their hearts, the truth, and many remember:
Falun Dafa is good!
