Russia: Practitioners Hold Parade and Anti-Torture Exhibition in Moscow to Call for an End to the Persecution (Photos)

August 05, 2004 |

(Clearwisdom.net) After holding a peaceful appeal at the Chinese Embassy on July 20 2004 to mark the fifth year of t persecution, Dafa practitioners from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaluga and other cities organised another parade and gathering in the northwestern district of Moscow. Practitioners marched through downtown Moscow with banners reading "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance", "Falun Dafa is Good", "Stop China Exporting State Terrorism", "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong Practitioners in China" and "Bring Jiang to Justice".

The parade passed through the main streets as well as the Central Park and lasted more than two hours. When crossing the streets, traffic police willingly stopped the traffic to let practitioners through. Because it was Saturday, there were many people in Central Park. Practitioners distributed leaflets to passers-by, and people in shops, buildings and buses along the parade route. Three little practitioners ran around to deliver Falun Gong materials into everyone's hands.

The parade ended in a square near a Metro Station. In the Square, practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and held a live anti-torture exhibition, as well as a poster display. Representatives of practitioners introduced the spread of Falun Dafa worldwide and the persecution against Falun Gong by Jiang's regime. Practitioners also performed dancing, singing and other programs. It was a large activity in which the Russian practitioners could talk about Falun Gong face-to-face with citizens in Moscow. Every practitioner actively joined the event and coordinated well with each other. The whole activity was a success. The anti-torture exhibition truly shocked many people in Moscow.

There were two moving stories:

An elderly Russian lady came to the torture scene and pointed at the young man acting as an evil policeman: "Why are you tying up that old lady? How can you do that? Let her down immediately." After practitioners explained to her that these tortures are occurring right now in China against Falun Gong practitioners and our activity here today was to call for the end of persecution against innocent people, she understood the truth and signed our petition to "Support Falun Gong Practitioners in China, Denounce the Persecution Against Falun Gong".

The No. 724 bus was waiting for passengers in the square. Practitioners went to give the bus driver and every passenger a Falun Gong leaflet. When this bus came back to the square again, practitioners noticed that the bus driver who had learned the facts about Falun Gong had tears in his eyes when he saw the torture scenes.
