Facts of the Persecution

On August 5, 2004, plainclothes policemen abducted Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Zi and other practitioners from Menghuayuan Village, Caicheng District, Laiwu City, Shandong Province. Her son and daughter were terrified. At present, no one knows her whereabouts. The police's actions offended local residents, and many people condemned their actions.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuqin was an employee at a coal processing plant of the No. 8 Coal Mine of Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. Because she was handing out Falun Gong truth clarification materials, the Party secretary and the head of the security section of the plant conspired with the local "610 Office" to have Ms. Wang illegally detained at her workplace between May and June 2004. In early July, staff members of the "610 Office" abducted Ms. Wang and took her to Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp in Zhenzhou City to carry out further persecution.

This May and June, Zeng Qinghong (one of the main instigators of the persecution) visited Huihua City in Hunan Province, and appointed Deng Yuanwu to take charge of persecuting Falun Gong. As soon as Deng came on board, he called a meeting to make arrangements for persecuting Falun Gong in Huaihua City, where he claimed he would "eradicate Falun Gong in Huaihua City within two years." He forced enterprises and businesses of each county and city to sign accountability letters. The Xinhuang County Brainwashing Center was formed at this meeting.

On July 19, 2004, for appealing to the government over the unjust persecution of Falun Gong, Tongnan County Dafa practitioner Ms. Fu Rufang of Chongqing City was abducted by policemen led by Zhang Liang from Tongnan County National Security Team, and detained at Tongnan County Detention Center. Zhang Liang gave orders to detain Ms. Fu for 15 days. Ms. Fu went on a hunger strike to resist the persecution. Four days later, she appeared dehydrated, and she was released on August 2.
