(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) issued a public notice to reveal the crimes committed by Zhou Yongkang, a major criminal guilty of genocide, torture and crimes against humanity.

Zhou Yongkang is a current member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Member of the State Department, and Minister of the Department of Public Security. He was the former secretary of Sichuan Province's CCP Committee, and previously Assistant Director of the Social Security General Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Central Political and Judiciary Committee. Since Jiang Zemin's criminal regime started to publicly suppress Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Zhou Yongkang actively pushed the persecution forward and was personally involved in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners when he was secretary of the Sichuan Province CCP Committee from 1999 to December 2002. He made use of many occasions to hatch plans for the persecution of Falun Gong in Sichuan Province. After deployments at major meetings, he often gave written instructions the same night, to encourage the literary hacks in the Institute of Social Sciences in Sichuan Province to promote slander and hate propaganda. He also rewarded those departments or individuals who actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong with money and promotions. He himself participated personally in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in some units. From 1999 to December 2002, forty-three Falun Gong practitioners were confirmed to have died as a direct result of persecution in Sichuan Province. (A large number of cases that are not yet well reported or completely confirmed are not included here). In terms of the persecution of Falun Gong, Sichuan Province is one of the provinces with the most serious persecution situation. During his visit in the U.S.A. on August 27, 2001, Mr. Zhou was sued for crimes of torture, crimes against humanity, and others.

Because Zhou Yongkang closely followed Jiang Zemin in the persecution of Falun Gong, in December 2002 he was promoted to the position of Minister of the Department of Public Security, even though he had no previous experience in the field of public security. At the same time he was also appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Central Political and Judiciary Committee, and assistant director of Central "610 Office," an agency dedicated to persecuting Falun Gong, later to be called by another name, the "Office of Preventing and Handling Cults."

Zhou made even more unbridled attacks against Falun Gong practitioners in his new positions. In December 2002, when Zhou was just appointed Minister of the Department of Public Security, during high level cadre meetings and nation-wide public security meetings he continuously conceived plans and issued orders to Public Security at all levels to persecute Falun Gong. He also traveled to all parts of China to give personal instructions and encourage grass-root units to persecute Falun Gong with an iron hand.

As minister of the Department of Public Security, Zhou rewarded those units and individuals in public security organizations who actively persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. He did so with proclamations and bonuses, and thus incited the grass-root units to raise the persecution to an even crueler level.

Additionally, Zhou coerced and made use of the Public Security Departments and Departments of Justice to persecute Falun Gong under various banners, such as the "Striking hard" punishment, learning Jiang Zemin's theory of the "Three Represents," cracking down against so-called "anti-China forces" from inside and outside of China, and "safeguarding the social stability," among other such directives. At his urgings, tragedies such as illegal arrests, extended-term imprisonments, use of torture methods to persecute practitioners, or even torturing practitioners to death, took place all over the country, one after another.

Whereas Zhou Yongkang is one of the main people responsible for manipulating and commanding the persecution of Falun Gong, WOIPFG has placed his case on file for investigation and prosecution. The WOIPFG will further investigate and confirm his crimes and will provide all facts and evidence that is collected and confirmed to the International Criminal Court, human rights organizations and state governments in all countries, to facilitate lawsuits against him and expose his crimes in persecuting Falun Gong. According to laws pertaining to and decrees which state "Foreign officials who have persecuted freedom of belief are not allowed to enter democratic countries, neither are their spouses and children," Zhou Yongkang's criminal record will be submitted to customs and immigration offices of all countries for their records.

(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 18, 2004, Toronto residents Liang Biao, Zen Xiaonan, and Xiao Jin have visited six renowned human rights attorneys in the Toronto area regarding the situation of their mothers, who are persecuted in China because of practicing Falun Gong. They have requested them to investigate what legal means can be undertaken to bring the responsible persons to justice.

Due to the serious violations of Chinese law during their mothers' trials, the three decided to pursue legal action outside of China. Every attorney they consulted was shocked upon hearing the persecution that their mothers suffered and expressed their sympathy. They also provided a variety of useful legal advice. Zen Xiaonan and Liang Biao continue to discuss the potential legal action with their attorneys.

Liang Biao's 68 year-old mother, Ms. Huang Xiuchao, was arrested by the Suixi County Police Department of Guangdong Province two years ago and detained for nearly five months because she practices Falun Gong. On June 10, 2002, without notifying her family or allowing them to be present, the Suixi County Court illegally sentenced her to a four-year prison term. It was only after the appeal term had expired on June 28 that the court finally informed the family of the trial and verdict, leaving them with no way to appeal the sentence. At present, Ms. Huang continues to be held in the Guangdong Province Women's Jail.

Zen Xiaonan's mother, Ms. Huang Xin, is a retired employee of the Shenbei Hospital in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She was illegally detained on four separate occasions because she practices Falun Gong. When she went to the hospital to pick up her pension check in September 2003, the personnel of the local "610 Office" abducted her. Later, she was secretly sentenced to an 8-year prison term. As in the case of Liang Biao's mother, the family was not notified. Nor did the Heping District Court of Shenyang City allow Ms. Huang to ask for an attorney. Legal procedure was ignored, the verdict was not announced, and once again there was no way to appeal the sentence. Because Ms. Huang did not give up her practice of Falun Gong, she was transferred to the Prison Management Hospital of the Liaoning Province Women's Jail at the end of 2003. Without having a physician examine her or give a diagnosis, she was forced to take the antipsychotic, chlorpromazine, every day. This is a powerful drug with serious, potentially fatal side effects. High doses or long-term use can produce side effects including but not limited to involuntary movements, hallucinations, catatonic-like states, lethargy, bizarre dreams, paranoid reactions, seizures, staggering gait, weakness, twitching, tremor, jitteriness, drooling, mask-like face, spasms of the neck muscles and jaw muscles, difficulty swallowing, a feeling of tightness in the throat, rigidity of back muscles, a condition of constant motor restlessness characterized by feelings of muscle quivering, an inability to sit still and an urge to constantly move about, irregular heartbeat, enlarging of the heart, congestive heart failure, coma, sudden cardiac arrest, and circulatory collapse. Not all of these side effects are reversible once a person stops taking the drug. As a result of being forced to take this drug continuously for more than 7 months, Ms. Huang lost most of her memory. She is sometimes unable to speak and suffers partial paralysis of both legs. Her life has been placed in jeopardy through the inappropriate and unjustifiable use of this powerful antipsychotic agent. At this time, she is still being detained in the Sixth Squad of the Ninth Brigade of the Liaoning Province Women's Jail.

Xiao Jin's 66-year-old mother, Li Guangzhen, lives in Gongan County, Jinzhou City, Hubei Province. She was arrested by the local police and forcibly sent to a brainwashing center in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, because she explained the true situation of Falun Gong to people in the street on March 13, 2004. Thanks to the combined efforts of the overseas media and the Canadian Embassy in China, along with appeals from kind-hearted people, Ms. Li was released unconditionally on July 9, 2004.

Liang Biao, Zen Xiaonan and Xiao Jin remain very worried about their mothers' safety. Using various means, they are appealing to government officials and fellow citizens alike, drawing attention to the plight of their mothers who are persecuted in China because of their belief, and calling for assistance in obtaining their release from prison. On June 15, 2004, a press conference for rescuing family members was held in the Provincial Parliament of Ontario, Canada, which introduced in detail the three mothers' situations and suffering. The press conference was broadcast live to all parliament members and was later broadcast to the whole province through the Ontario TV Station. Many Chinese and English media also covered this event.

The case of Ms. Huang Xin, Zen Xiaonan's mother, has been reported in detail by many media including the Epochtimes, Radio Free Asia, and Toronto's Omni 2 TV Station. This case has also been reported to the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, and it is being reported to many international organizations such as the United Nations Committee Against Torture and Amnesty International.

When a reporter asked why they did not pursue legal action directly in China, Zen Xiaonan said: "During the trial of my mother, the Heping District Police Department, the Heping District Court and the Procuratorate were controlled by the '610 Office'. They brazenly carried out the illegal trial. Many attorneys do not dare to provide defense for Falun Gong practitioners because they are afraid of retribution from the Jiang regime, which has absolute authority in the country. However, we won't give up. We will research the Chinese Law by ourselves and bring an accusation at an appropriate time. We will find justice for our mothers. We are going to bring all those who carry out persecution against such a good group of people to justice."

When a reporter interviewed Liang Biao, he said: "We are collecting personal information and criminal evidence of all related personnel who have been responsible for persecuting our mothers. We will put the information on record with the appropriate organizations and with the customs officials of every country. This evidence will be used to judge them in the near future."

Since eight Falun Gong practitioners signed jointly and brought an accusation against Jiang Zemin and the "610 Office" in charge of persecuting Falun Gong to the U.S. Federal Court in Chicago in October 2002, Jiang Zemin has been served with lawsuits in the U.S., Belgium, Spain, Germany, Korea and Taiwan on charges of genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity. In addition, the people of more countries, including the UK, Ireland, Demark, Iceland, Moldova, Armenia and Finland, are actively consulting attorneys in their countries. An action to bring Jiang Zemin, the chief criminal of persecuting Falun Gong, to justice was initiated and is gaining momentum all over the world. His principle accomplices, Luo Gan, Li Lanqing, Zen Qinghong, Zhou Yongkang, Zhao Zhongfei, Xia Deren, Li Qi, and others have also been formally sued in various countries. According to the related laws of these countries that the foreign officers (including their spouses, sons and daughters) who persecute freedom of belief are prohibited to enter these democratic countries, those persons' criminal records will be submitted and put on file in these countries' customs and immigration departments. Those persons who are listed will not be able to enter without facing legal action for their crimes.

On March 9, 2004, two international non-governmental organizations submitted a list of the 102 main Chinese leaders in the persecution of Falun Gong, including Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing, Zhou Yougkang, Li Lianqing, and Wang Maolin, and requested the U.S. government to prohibit these people from entering the U.S. In September 2003 and January 2004, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police put Jiang Zemin and 44 other persons who persecute Falun Gong on a watch list. Once these people enter Canada, they could immediately face investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. According to the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Program (CAHWCP) of Canada, anyone responsible for genocide or crimes against humanity will be subject to repatriation, deportation or criminal prosecution.

(Clearwisdom.net) On August 6 2004, at the fifty-sixth session of the UN's Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, (1) regarding Item 6: "Specific Human Rights Issues," a representative of International Educational Development brought before the meeting the lawsuits filed by Falun Gong practitioners outside China and expressed her organization's support for the action taken by the practitioners. The following is an excerpt of her statement:

A representative of International Education Development speaks during a meeting of the 56^th session of the sub-commission on promotion and protection of human rights.

" In our statement under this item in 2001 we presented the "State Terrorism" in China regarding the millions of Falun Gong practitioners. Since that time, courts in the United States have ruled against officials in China who were served while in the United States for gross violations of human rights against Falun Gong practitioners. Our organization participated in several of these successful legal actions. We are now pleased to report that courts in Tanzania have shown the same inclination to allow domestic legal action, as on the 3rd August 2004 a Tanzanian court issued a preliminary judgment against a member of the Chinese state council. We also note the shooting of a Falun Gong practitioner in South Africa on the 28th June 2004. This victim is an Australian, who had arrived in South Africa to file criminal lawsuits against Chinese officials visiting South Africa who are alleged to be responsible for the office in China responsible for the reign of terror against Falun Gong. We are pleased that the authorities in South Africa are investigating this. However, we must point out that the Chinese authorities have pursued Falun Gong practitioners outside of China for some years."

(Clearwisdom.net) It is still very hot and humid in New York during August. On August 14, Saturday, it was quite cloudy and seemed to be going to rain any time. However, it never did. Manhattan was still very busy and of course quite noisy on the weekend. On a corner of the intersection of 60th street and Lexington Avenue, looking from a distance, one could see about 20 people displaying something. Passersby often stopped to take a look, while many of them showed astonished faces.

Following their astonished vision, I saw a shocking scene: A lady with short hair sat in a chair with her legs tied to a long bench. Her hands were tied behind her back, her face had some wounds, and her clothes had scattered bloodstains. Next to the bench, there was a burning coal stove and a heated iron bar.

Next to the lady, a man was hanging by his bound hands to a wooden frame. His face had a lot wounds, too. Behind them, there was a man, who seemed to be a policeman, in a black suit and a black hat with a black baton in hand.

This was an anti-torture exhibition organized by Falun Gong practitioners. It used real-life models to show what is happening in China.

Photos and text in posters explained what Falun Gong is, its development in the 12 years since its first introduction to the public in 1992, and the persecution in China since July 1999.

A lady in a yellow shirt told passersby: From 1999 to the present, more than 1000 Falun Gong practitioners in China had been persecuted to death. In labor camps, detention centers and prisons, practitioners have been subjected to more than 100 torture methods including shocks with electric batons, beatings, tiger bench, etc. What we are showing here are only a few of them--the real situation is much worse and more brutal than this.

Upon learning the practitioners' story, some passersby felt than the Chinese authorities were unreasonable, some felt indignant, some also used their cameras or cell phones to take pictures of the exhibition. They all felt that the torture happening in China is horrific and brutal. Many signed the practitioners' petition to voice their concern against the persecution.

An elderly lady was squatting in a small iron cage. She came from Canada. I asked her: "How do you feel?" She said: "Squatting in such a small space is of course not comfortable. However, in China, practitioners are suffering much more pain and they are suffering for their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Therefore, I come here to show the world their suffering so that all people will know and thus take actions to end this persecution."

These Falun Gong practitioners were very peaceful with very good demeanor. A policewoman on duty told two policemen who just came to the area, "Relax, they are very peaceful."

Several other groups of practitioners also staged anti-torture exhibitions on other streets of Manhattan and distributed fliers to passersby.

People who live and work in this world business center should all come to view this exhibition and learn the truth about Falun Gong.

(Clearwisdom.net) Nagano-ken is a typical Japanese region, where the mountains are beautiful, the water is clear and the people are kind and down to earth. After hearing that a Japanese man's wife, Yoko Kaneko, was unlawfully imprisoned by the Chinese government, many of the kind people in Nagano reached out a helping hand.

On August 7, 2004. traditional summer celebrations and fairs were held in different places in Nagano-ken. On this day, Yoko Kaneko went to Matsumoto, a city in mid-Nagano to express her gratitude towards the local people for their attention to her plight and for their efforts in rescuing her. Yoko also described to the public the persecution she personally experienced during her one and a half years of unlawful imprisonment in China. What distinguished this event from previous Falun Dafa activities was a live reenactment of torture methods used in China's labor camps against Falun Gong practitioners. People passing by stopped to watch. Constantly, people asked, "Are these kinds of tortures really happening in China?" In the end, Yoko said, "I hope that people here will continue to support those Falun Gong practitioners who are still imprisoned and tortured by the Jiang group in China, just as you have done to rescue me."

Five methods of torture were reenacted: force-feeding, digging bamboo sticks into practitioners' fingernails, confined in a small iron cage, the "Police Bed," and the "Dead Person's Bed." Yoko especially introduced two methods of torture that she personally experienced: The "Dead Person's Bed" and the "Police Bed" (please see the photos). "Because I refused to give up my practice of Falun Gong, the jail guards tightly tied me on a 'Dead Person's Bed'," Yoko recounted, "The 'Dead Person's Bed' was made of a wooden board with five ropes on each side. They pressed me down to the bed. Then five strong men forcibly pulled the five ropes over my body until they could not go any further and fastened the ropes to the bed. They then pulled both of my hands backwards and shackled my hands on the bed legs. I was tied so tightly on the bed that I was unable to move. I was tied on the bed for more than 30 consecutive hours. Because I'm a Japanese citizen's wife, they were afraid of international attention if I was tortured to death. Therefore, they finally released me from the bed. At that point, I was already on the verge of death."

"Why is it called the 'Dead Person's Bed'?" Yoko continued, "Later, people told me that because the five ropes were tied so tightly, if the tying lasts for a relatively long time, it can cause blood vessels to break and internal bleeding to occur. Many people die after more than 10 hours of being tied on the bed. A number of Falun Gong practitioners were thus tortured to death on the 'Dead Person's Bed'."

When introducing the torture method called the "Police Bed," Yoko said, "The 'Police Bed' is an iron bed. They forcibly stretched out my arms and legs in four directions and then handcuffed my hands and shackled my feet to the four corners of the bed. My hands and legs were stretched to the point that I was unable to move at all. When they pulled my arms and legs, I heard a sound from my joints. It was very painful. They inserted a very thick tube from my nose into my stomach and used a syringe to force-feed me. Because the tube was too thick, each time, it was very difficult to insert it. In order for them to save the trouble, they simply left the tube in my stomach after the force-feeding. This way, since I was lying flat on the bed, the food they injected would flow backwards from the tube and spill onto my shoulder, chest and the bed. I was tied so tightly that I was unable to move. The guards would not help me clean up. In the hot summer, the rotten food smelled terribly and even the doctors and nurses were not willing to approach me. They put a catheter in my urethra and when I was menstruating, they simply put some tissues under my body. In this way, I was tied on the bed for more than 20 consecutive days. Except for force-feeding me, no one came close to me for those more than 20 days. When they released me from the bed, my entire body felt numb and was unable to move. The skin on my back was festering. After several days, my condition gradually improved."

In Nagano-ken, people live a peaceful and comfortable life. They could not imagine that such a brutal persecution is actually taking place every day in a neighboring big country. A Japanese person phoned me later and said, "Japanese people don't know much about this [the persecution of Falun Gong]. Please conduct more of these kinds of activities." Many people were appalled and could not believe that this was really happening in China. They asked again and again whether all of these tortures were really happening, and after they got an affirmative answer, they signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.

A reporter asked Yoko, "Generally speaking, people who have experienced this kind of torture would not want to remember it. What do you feel when you recount this to people?"

Yoko answered, "Like other people, I don't want to recall this painful experience either. There were some other Falun Gong practitioners who were imprisoned with me in the same place. I am a Japanese man's wife. Simply because I wouldn't give up my practice of Falun Gong, they tortured me so badly that there were at least four times that I was on the verge of death. One could imagine how they would mistreat those Chinese Falun Gong practitioners who had no international connections. I am very fortunate. With the Japanese people's appealing on my behalf and the Japanese government's rescue efforts, I was able to come back to Japan alive. However, whenever I think about those countless Falun Gong practitioners who are still suffering from the persecution, my heart is bleeding. My conscience told me that I cannot keep silent. I hope that my experience will arouse more people's conscience, to help stop this persecution."

After reading a flyer inserted in a morning newspaper, a Chinese woman drove half an hour to come over and learn about Falun Gong and the persecution. She said that she believed everything we were saying. Some of her family members were also arrested and imprisoned, and even sentenced to 7 years in prison because of their practice of Falun Gong. In the course of her conversation with practitioners, some misunderstandings she had about Dafa were cleared up. The woman left us her phone numbers and said she would contact us later.

We ask all kind-hearted people to stand up with us: "Please stop the persecution! Let the beauty of Falun Gong be spread to all people."

Japanese resident, Yoko Kaneko, 39 years old is from China. Her Chinese name is Luo Rong. She was born in Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province. In 1999, she was married to a Japanese man and currently lives in Niigata.

On May 24, 2002, when Yoko Kaneko was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying flyers on a street in Beijing, she was arrested by the police and was then imprisoned in a forced labor camp for one and a half years. During her imprisonment, her husband, family members and fellow Falun Gong practitioners worked together to rescue her. The Association for Rescuing Yoko Kaneko was established in Tokyo and an Internet Liaison of Citizens was also established in Osaka to collect petition signatures in Japan and from the Internet, and to conduct press conferences. The Association for Rescuing Yoko Kaneko held several SOS urgent rescue signature drives and walks in Niigata where Yoko resides.

On July 29, 21 Japanese Parliament members from four parties established the Multi-Party Coalition to Rescue Yoko Kaneko. Up to November 2003, the rescue campaign collected more than 160,000 signatures and received supportive letters from more than 270 officials, from Japanese Parliament members to council members of cities and villages.

Various governments, human rights organizations, groups and individuals from a number of countries throughout the world wrote to the Japanese government to call for the rescue of Yoko. Some directly wrote to the Chinese government to urge them to immediately release the innocent Falun Gong practitioners.

On different occasions, the Japanese government expressed that they would try their best to rescue Yoko Kaneko. For example, on November 18, 2003 when Yoko's term was up, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshiko Kawaguchi expressed that the Japanese government would treat Yoko Kaneko as they would a Japanese citizen.

On November 27, 2003, under the strong call from all circles of the society, Yoko Kaneko successfully returned to Japan. During the 548 days and nights in police custody in China, Yoko had endured inhuman torture and she was on the verge of death on at least four occasions. Her hair turned completely white and she almost lost her eyesight. With her strong righteous thoughts, Yoko finally made it through all these tribulations.

After returning to a free society, Yoko did not forget those hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners who are still illegally imprisoned in China's labor camps. She continuously traveled around Japan and used her own experience to tell people about the viciousness and brutality of this persecution. She called upon people to work together to stop the persecution.

The torture methods exhibited were only a tiny part of what Yoko suffered in China.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in Darmstadt and nearby cities went to the city center on Sunday the 14th of August. They put some big display boards with pictures of the brutal persecution near the station where a lot of people pass through. They told Darmstadt citizens about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China and collected signatures.

At ten o'clock in the morning, Falun Gong practitioners erected the display boards, practiced the exercises and distributed materials in the rain. Neither practitioners nor pedestrians were put off by the weather. They stopped to look carefully at the pictures and talked with practitioners. It gradually stopped raining and the weather improved. The sun shone in the afternoon. More people were attracted to the peaceful exercises. People could not connect the peaceful practitioners with the cruelty in the photographs. Shocked, many young people with eyes wide-open asked, "Are they real?" Though older German people, who had gone through the Second World War and could never forget the cruelty of the persecution of the Jews, knew such cruelty and evil existed in the world, they still could not help but shake their heads with solemn expressions in front the pictures. People in a continuous stream signed their names.

Dili, a Falun Gong practitioner from Romania, explained why the Jiang group persecutes Falun Gong practitioners and why innocent people were persecuted for no reason using the example of her own country. She had witnessed innocent people being defamed and persecuted by the Communist Party. The effects of her explanation were very good. One Chinese student who had believed the lies of the Jiang faction accepted the Chinese information booklet with pleasure after talking with her for a long time.

A German child stood beside the practitioners when he saw them practicing exercises. He also raised his arms above his head to do the second set of the exercises.

A display board which introduced the history of the Swastika symbol and the Falun Emblem also attracted a lot of German people's attention. This is probably a phenomenon unique to Germany. No one in the world is more sensitive to the symbol than the German people. As people came to understand the history of the Swastika they also learned about Falun Gong and the persecution of practitioners. They also took flyers before they left. When two policemen passed on a routine patrol, one practitioner who was also a policeman explained the origin of the swastika to them. He told them that the German court judged that though the Falun Emblem looked similar to the symbol of the Nazis, the concepts of Falun Gong were completely contrary to those of the Nazis. Falun Gong is peaceful, so the Falun Emblem is legal. Before the information day, the policeman practitioner had contacted the local police to clarify this point, and had permission to display the Falun Emblem. He also explained the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners to them.

Practitioners realized that anything could be a starting point to talk about the facts and save sentient beings. Even those with seemingly negative effects could be positively used. For example, when the persecution began, it was difficult to show the Falun Emblem in a public place. Doing so could be a criminal offence. However, through practitioners clarifying the truth, the German court made an objective decision. Instead it has become a unique means of clarifying the truth.

(Clearwisdom.net) UK Falun Gong practitioners held a series of activities before and after the Edinburgh Arts Festival Opening Cavalcade on the 8th of August, exposing the Jiang group's persecution of Falun Gong to tourists from all over the world and local citizens, and at the same time showcasing Dafa's beauty to the public. The Scottish media enthusiastically reported on Falun Gong practitioners' activities, giving them a greater impact.

Scotland's biggest newspaper, The Herald, published an exclusive in-depth report on Falun Gong practitioners' torture exhibitions on the 6th and 7th of August on the streets of Edinburgh, including a large photo of practitioners demonstrating torture methods.

On the 8th of August, the Edinburgh Evening News, in its report on the Edinburgh Cavalcade, informed its readers about the Falun Gong parade and the news that they had won a major prize and included the photo of Falun Gong practitioners dancing as part of their Arts Festival photo report. Also on August 8th on the UK BBC website, a photo of Falun Gong practitioners dancing was also published in their Edinburgh Festival photo report.

On August 9th, The Edinburgh Evening News published an article on Falun Gong practitioners' anti-torture parade in Edinburgh, complete with a picture of practitioners acting out torture methods.

(Clearwisdom.net) For four years, the Australian practitioners displayed a Falun Dafa photo exhibit in libraries along the Sunshine Coast. The exhibits received warm welcome and had a good effect.

The exhibits we provided include the books Falun Gong and Zhuan Falun, exercise teaching video tapes, truth-clarifying materials and paper lotus flowers. The display boards have color posters about Falun Dafa and pictures of Falun Gong practitioners attending local events. We clarify the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to the visitors.

The library staff warmly welcomed our coming. These libraries provided us a good spot to display our materials about the story of little Fadu and her mother Dai Zhizhen. Dai's husband was murdered by Jiang's followers in China. Since then, Dai and her then one year old daughter Fadu started their journey to over 30 countries calling upon kindhearted people to help end the persecution. This activity also invited all age groups to make paper lotus flower together that represent the bright future and blessings for the Chinese children. These children are still living in the shadow of the Jiang regime's persecution. When people heard the story of Fadu, their hearts were deeply moved.

In the library, mothers and children like to make lotus flowers. After they learn it, they call other friends to come and learn.

The photo exhibit in libraries is a good method to introduce the beauty of Falun Dafa and let people be aware of the persecution in China.

(Clearwisdom.net) On August 14, 2004 the 75th Bud Billiken Parade was held on Martin Luther King Blvd in south Chicago. The event is regarded as the largest African American parade in North America and it attracted over one million visitors this year.

The Bud Billiken parade was founded by Robert Abbot, the chief editor and founder of the Chicago Defender newspaper in 1929. The purpose was to give "underprivileged children a chance to be in the limelight for one day by wearing costumes, marching in a parade and being seen". Billiken is named after an angel who protects children in Chinese legend. Nowadays, this event has become an activity to welcome the students back to school on the second Saturday of August. The theme of this year is to "Give the youngsters better education".

There were 280 groups participating in the parade, and about 20 Chicago Falun Gong practitioners formed a team to participate in this parade for the first time. Our serene music and colorful dances attracted the attention from the spectators, especially because we have the little practitioners from Minghui School, and Falun Gong was one of the only three Asian groups. Many children chanted "Chinese, Chinese" to us and others spoke in Chinese, "Thank you, Xiexie." Many people also pressed their hands to salute us and said they had seen Falun Gong in front of the Chinese consulate and downtown area and they support us. When practitioners demonstrated the exercises on the float, the spectators followed their movements. When they performed the lotus dance, the spectators followed the dance gestures too. The spectators thanked the Falun Gong practitioners for bringing such precious thing to the community.

Cook County Representative Ms. Mary Flore came to us and shook hands with practitioners. She said that she had signed the resolution supporting Falun Gong recently and extended her best wishes. (Note: Illinois resolution #933)

When our procession passed the stage, the environment suddenly quieted down. The noise from the crowd, children's yelling and music were all gone. People were moved by our peace and serenity and watched our demonstration quietly. The host first said, "Gorgeous", and then he kept silent for a long time. Finally, he read out the characters on our banner "Falun Dafa is good!" He then raised his voice to tell the people if they wanted to learn more about Falun Dafa, please check the website Falundafa.org.

I am a friend of Wang Yong, the Chinese citizen whose passport was not renewed by the Chinese Embassy in Vienna. In this letter, I would like to give the Ambassador my view on this issue.

I heard that the major reason for not renewing the passport was because of an accusation that Wang Yong is against the Chinese Government. I know Wang Yong well, and I can honestly tell you that he is definitely not against the Chinese Government. What he is doing is just appealing to the Chinese Government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and for bringing the responsible criminals within the Chinese Government to justice. I think that everyone can agree that a few Communist Party members is not the same as the Chinese Government as a whole, and even less can a few people represent China as a whole. If a few individuals within the Chinese Government violate the Chinese Constitution and international agreements on human rights, they are responsible for that many innocent people's death; if they use the Party for their own gains and lie to other people within the government and to the Chinese populace, Chinese Law should bring them to justice.

The responsible people within the Chinese Government created, with their own personal motives, many lies about Falun Gong in order to get acceptance for launching a terrible and brutal persecution against millions of good, law-abiding Chinese citizens, a persecution that includes brain-washing, torture and killing. More and more Chinese citizens (including policemen) are now learning the facts about Falun Gong, i.e. that Falun Gong is a peaceful and traditional cultivation method based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and not at all a political movement.

Unfortunately, by not renewing Yong´s passport because of the stated reasons, you are in fact taking part in this persecution and this is even more the case when the Embassy does not give a written statement of the decision.

With the facts presented, I think that no Chinese official with good judgment and a sense of conscience will choose to take part in serious human rights violations anymore. China is a great country with a great cultural, philosophical and religious history, which I personally adore very much. The persecution, initiated by a few people utilizing the power of a government, gives modern China a bad image, to say the very least.

I hope that the Ambassador can make a conscientious decision regarding this issue.

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhao Qiang, a 27-year-old male resident of Xiaonigou Village in Datong Town of Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, is a graduate of Rongcheng City Adult College and has been a Dafa practitioner since 1996. In October 2000, Zhao Qiang validated Dafa in Beijing and was illegally arrested. After first being beaten at a local police station, he was further tortured at Rongcheng City Detention Center. Half a month later, they transferred him to a mental hospital, where he was detained for four months before being released.

In the fall of 2001, Zhao visited a fellow practitioner's home and was arrested there. He was then forcefully sent to a mental hospital and deliberately injected with drugs that harmed his central nervous system. Two years later, at the time of his release, Zhao suffered from a mental disorder due to the torture. His consciousness was unclear, and he lost the ability to lead a normal life. All of this has brought tremendous pain and harm to Zhao and his family. A good young member of society, who was fit both physically and mentally, has been persecuted to the point of having a mental disorder by the local "610 Office". They soon sent him to a mental hospital to be persecuted further.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Moganshan Female Forced Labor Camp in Zhejiang Province is specifically used for detaining Falun Gong practitioners sentenced to "reeducation through labor." Since 1999, when the Jiang regime started persecuting Falun Gong, this labor camp has been actively cooperating in the persecution, and capitalizes on its isolated environment to torture Falun Gong practitioners, trying to force them to renounce their belief.

In order to create an even more isolated environment that is more convenient for persecuting people who uphold their belief in "truth, compassion, and tolerance," the Moganshan Female Forced Labor Camp formed a special brigade in which they set up a "Specially Monitored Zone." Normally, the labor camp assigns one guard to manage every 40 to 50 detainees. For Falun Gong practitioners, however, they assign one guard for every 5 to 6 practitioners. In addition, they also use regular criminal inmates in the labor camp to monitor Falun Gong practitioners. Usually, there are at least two of these prisoners to monitor one practitioner. Sometimes, they used as many as 5 to 6 inmates to monitor one practitioner. Oftentimes, the ones that monitor Falun Gong practitioners also abuse and beat the practitioners. For the most steadfast practitioners, the police have utilized many vicious means to abuse and torture them physically and mentally. For example, the police force practitioners to read books, listen to audio cassettes or watch videotapes that slander Falun Dafa every day. They have reduced Falun Gong practitioners' sleep time or have even forbidden them to sleep at all for several days. Sometimes they haven't allowed practitioners to bathe or walk, and they force criminal drug addicts and prostitutes to physically punish and beat practitioners. The guards reduce practitioners' sleep time while trying to brainwash them in order to mentally and physically stress them to their limit.

The "Specially Monitored Zone" is a cell inside a cell, and is copied from the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. There are six cells measuring about 4 meters square (approximately 12 feet x 12 feet), specifically built for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners who were detained in these cells were not allowed to use the bathroom facilities and had to defecate and urinate in the cells. The bed was just a small wooden board placed on the floor. The metal door was closed all day long. There was a small square hole in the door to pass food in. In the winter, the cell was very cold. People who lived in the cell felt as if they lived in an icy cage. Practitioners detained there, however, included those who are in their seventies. The youngest was over 40 years old.

The guards claimed that as long as a practitioner didn't write a letter pledging to give up Falun Dafa and didn't "transform," she could never leave the cell. For instance, Ms. Huang Jinfeng, who was about 70 years old, was detained in one of these cells for over two months. She was forced to sit by the hole in the door where the chilly wind blew in. One side of her body became numb and she could not even button up her clothes after relieving herself. Such occurrences at the Moganshan Female Forced Labor Camp are commonplace; however the camp labels these practices as achievements in "civilizing the labor camp."

The following are accounts of some of the persecution cases at the Moganshan Female Forced Labor Camp:

Ms. Zhuo Ainu lives in Jinyun, Zhejiang Province and is about 48 years old. The first time she was detained, she was sentenced to one year of forced labor. The second time, she was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Because she is steadfast in Falun Dafa, she was tortured three times during her incarceration. The first time was during a very hot summer. She was placed in a cell and the perpetrators closed the door and windows and used thick black cloth to cover the windows. They turned on a hot 200-watt lamp in the cell and didn't allow Ms. Zhuo Ainu access to any water. To add to the torture, they forced her to stand motionless for 18 hours a day. If Ms. Zhuo moved at all, they would punch, kick, and shock her with electronic batons. After Ms. Zhuo Ainu had been tortured like this for eight consecutive days, her clothes were covered with a layer of salt crystals dried from her sweat. The second time Zhuo Ainu was persecuted at the camp was in the first half of 2003. To force her to give up practicing Falun Gong, the guards didn't allow her to sleep for eight consecutive days, during which time her hair turned almost completely turned grey. Later, the police once again deprived her of sleep for 15 days. According to those who knew the details of her abuse, during that period, Ms. Zhuo Ainu was tortured until she nearly suffered a mental collapse. The third time Ms. Zhuo was tortured at the labor camp was in the last half of 2003, when the police forced her to stand for 24 hours a day and didn't allow her to sleep for 20 days. She could not bear the torture and began to moan. In order to prevent her from moaning, the guards laced her food with drugs. As a result, Ms. Zhuo gradually lost the ability to speak. After that, she was only allowed to sleep for 2 to 3 hours a day, for an extended period. Because of the prolonged torture, one year after Ms. Zhuo was put in the labor camp for the second time, she became paralyzed and could no longer take care of herself.

Ms. Xie Bifang, in her sixties, is from Sichuan Province. Because she refused to be "transformed," she was tortured in the "Specially Monitored Zone." Often, the guards didn't provide her with food and didn't allow her to sleep. She was forced to stand from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Those criminal inmates who monitored her kicked her legs and feet and beat her. As a result, Ms. Xie's legs and feet were covered with bruises and were swollen.

Ms. Huang Yaohua, in her fifties, is from Yuhuan, Zhejiang Province. She was detained in the "Specially Monitored Zone." After she was sent to the labor camp, her hair soon turned grey. Because she refused to be "transformed," the guards didn't allow her to wear warm clothes in the winter and didn't give her any blankets; they forced her to stand, and didn't give her any food. In the end, the police sent her to a mental hospital for further persecution.

Ms. Wen Xiaofen, in her forties, is an engineer. She is an upright person and is very earnest. She was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor. In the labor camp, because she spoke the truth and spoke out from a sense of justice, she was put in solitary cells several times and her term was extended by six months on two different occasions.

Xuhui, 28 years old, is a college graduate. She used to work at the Qinshan Credit Union of Linan, Hangzhuo City, Zhejiang Province. In 1999, after the government started suppressing Falun Gong, she was detained by the local police and her work unit. In September 2001, the police threatened her and tried to prevent her from going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. Xuhui firmly refused their order and hence was put under house arrest. She escaped out of a second story window and went to Beijing to hold up a banner. She was arrested and taken back to Linan. In October 2001, she was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor and sent to the Moganshan Female Forced Labor Camp where she was put in a solitary cell and detained there for a long time. She had to eat, drink, and excrete in the same cell. Her health deteriorated rapidly, and she lost consciousness several times. Xuhui went on a hunger strike to oppose the persecution. However, the police brutally force-fed her, further torturing her. In December 2003, the guards taped her mouth shut and didn't allow her to speak. Xuhui is still detained at the Moganshan Female Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Yu Yamin, in her thirties, is from Xinchang, Zhejiang Province. In 1999, because she went to Beijing to appeal, she was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Since she was steadfast in practicing Falun Gong and refused to write pledge letters, the police crushed and fractured one of her toes. Not long after she was released when her term was up, Ms. Yu was again detained by the local police for six months, with the accusation that she made some Falun Gong bookmarks. Later, she was sentenced for a second term of forced labor. This time the sentence was two and half years. However, when her term was just about over, it was extended for four more months just because she spoke from her heart, "Falun Dafa is good."

Ms. Chen Xianzhi's arms and legs were tied to a door by police for over 20 days because she was steadfast in practicing Falun Gong.

After Ms. Bao Suying stated that she would start practicing Falun Gong again and would tell the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to people after she was released, the guards taped her mouth shut.

The above stories are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the persecution received by practitioners in the Moganshan Female Forced Labor Camp. To cover up their evil deeds, the labor camp has cut off all information outlets and has even denied the visiting rights of the relatives of practitioners. Practitioners are not even allowed to receive mail.

Dafa practitioner Tian Shihong, the manager of Grapery Factory in Wendeng City in Shandong Province (Address: Dongfang Village, Wencheng Town of Wendeng City) was illegally arrested by local police and "610 Office" on July 6 for practicing Falun Gong. Over 60 workers in the factory strongly opposed this act. The employees started attempted to remove the handcuffs from this good person's hands, but the police attacked the workers brutally. Many workers were injured and some were even beaten until they lost consciousness. Later on, the employees went to the Appeals Office of Wendeng City together in order to rescue their manager, but the head of the police department and the secretary of the politics and law committee forcibly dispersed them. Ten workers were illegally detained and Mr. Tian Shihong was sentenced to 3 years of forced-labor.

On May 10, 2004, because Mr. Tian Shihong explained the truth of Falun Dafa to people, the "610 Office" of Wendeng Police Department illegally arrested him. During the detention, the Police Department of Wendeng City secretly broke into Mr. Tian's home and illegally confiscated the computer that Mr. Tian's daughter used for study. Eight days later, Mr. Tian left the detention center with righteous thoughts and was forced to become homeless.

Around May 20, the "610 Office" of Wendeng Police Department went to the factory where Mr. Tian worked, and caused interference there, and they also searched the whole factory.

In July, Mr. Tian went back to the factory. On July 6, the police of Wendeng City suddenly arrested Mr. Tian in broad daylight and aroused the condemnation and firm resistance from over 60 of his employees. These workers all said, "Our manager is a good person and you cannot arrest good people!" However, the followers of Jiang still acted willfully. The employees started the grinding wheels hoping to break the handcuffs that were on the hands of Mr. Tian, who cultivates Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truth-Compassion-Tolerance). The splashing sparks burned and injured workers' arms, but those workers just ignored it and they only thought about saving Mr. Tian. Those policemen found the situation was not so good. They started beating the workers, and they used their cellular phones to call for help. Shortly after, a few police cars and a group of police arrived and treated the workers brutally. Some workers' faces were injured in the beating, some almost lost their consciousness, and the whole scene looked horrible. In the end, the policemen still took away Mr. Tian and one female worker.

After Mr. Tian and that female worker were taken away, in order to ask for justice, these workers exercised their citizen's rights that were endowed by the Chinese Constitution to appeal. These workers went to the Appeals Office of Wendeng City to ask for justice for Mr. Tian and that female practitioner and also proved that they are good people. The employees patiently waited for over 2 hours at the Appeals Office. But what surprised them was that Liu Xinjiang, the deputy secretary of the City politics and law committee, Liu Chunxi, the head of police department, the head of the Huanshan Road Police Station, and the head of the detention center, Wang Conglun, led over 60 policemen to forcibly scatter the 50-60 workers that went to appeal, and illegally arrested and detained 10 responsible people from the factory. In addition, one elderly person of nearly 80 years of age and one lady who took a child with her were fined 200 Yuan each before they were released.

On July 8, Dafa practitioner Tian Shihong was illegally sentenced to 3 years of forced-labor and sent to the Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo City in Shandong Province.

It was learned that since 2001, the police and "610 Office" of Wendeng City often harassed Mr. Tian Shihong. Mr. Tian left the brainwashing class with righteous thoughts after being on hunger strike for 9 days. The workers could not tolerate such unreasonable and unlawful persecution of good people and argued strongly with reason with the police, but in the end were treated with the wild assault by the policemen in Wendeng City.

Such brutal actions that trample human rights without consideration of consequences took place under the direction of the head of Police Department of Wendeng City and the secretary of the Politics and Law Committee, and it happened during the period when the Supreme Procuratorate had decided to seriously investigate the human rights violations by people in power.

Due to the Wendeng police's kidnapping and persecution, the Grapery Factory became almost bankrupt. Over 60 workers faced the crisis of losing their jobs. But this crisis was caused by the staff of the local government that followed Jiang's regime and participated in the persecution of Falun Gong.

We appeal to all levels of Procuratorates as well as all forces of justice overseas and inside China, to pay attention to the plight of Dafa practitioner Mr. Tian Shihong and all detained Dafa practitioners, restrain those police and people according to the law, and return justice to the law.

(Clearwisdom.net) News from Hubei Province: Since July, Jiang has been traveling around the country. Wherever he goes, evildoers run wild, and unlawful local officials arbitrarily arrest Dafa practitioners.

Huanggang City Dafa practitioners disclosed that since Jiang arrived in Hubei in July, the Province has systematically assigned special groups to monitor Falun Gong practitioners. The 12 counties of Huanggang have started gathering different amounts of manpower, material resources, and finances to strengthen their capabilities to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. It has become their top priority. Different levels of government from several areas held meetings to develop different ways to dig up background information, the central government reporter has taken pictures of these areas, seminars have been held to warn people to avoid being involved with Falun Gong, and they ordered that Dafa practitioners be arrested and sent to brainwashing centers. Since the middle of July, in Huangzhou City alone, 15 Dafa practitioners were arrested and sent to Hongshan Brainwashing Center, which is run by the province.

The primary tactics used by the "610 Office," National Security, and police are as follows: When they find their target person, the police section, work unit, and house committee then work together and visit the practitioner. When the practitioner is off guard, they come up to arrest him. Practitioners protested the illegal actions during the arrests. Some did not open the door and were placed under surveillance. But with strong righteous thoughts, the practitioners successfully left their homes and escaped. The persecutors went to some practitioners' work units to arrest them, and the Dafa practitioners loudly cried out "Falun Dafa is good" while many people witnessed the process. Some practitioners were informed beforehand about the plot to arrest them, and the practitioners left their homes to avoid being persecuted. The 14 detained practitioners were: Peng Aiping of the Electricity Department, private business owner Su Jianzhen, Mr. Lo, the guard of the Development Landscape Bureau, Hu Zhengquan from the Agricultural Bureau, Lu Fang from the Agricultural Bank, Zhang Naisi, whose family member works for a tobacco company, Xiong Suzhen of the Water Company, Yu Kangmei of a servicing company, the Processed Food business owner whose surname is Zheng, Guo Lina of Huangzhou Shopping Center, Duan Guofang from Huangzhou Court, Liu Xuehong from the Baota Middle School, Dafa practitioner Wang Liqiang, elderly lady Cao, and others.

This year the "610 Office," National Security, police, and other government departments have continuously arrested Dafa practitioners. In the Huangzhou City district, 25 Dafa practitioners were arrested and forcibly sent to the Provincial Brainwashing Center.

The Laws of the universe will not tolerate the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. In the middle of July, Huanggang City experienced the worst storm in recent history. According to the report by E-Dong evening paper, there were about 457,000 people affected, resulting in the lost of 72,200,000 Yuan (1), and causing all Huanggang citizens to suffer.

(1) Yuan - Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan.

On the afternoon of July 15, 2004, Chuanhui District Court in Zhoukou City delivered judgments to 16 local Dafa practitioners and sentenced them to heavy prison terms on charges of "organizing and utilizing cults to damage law-enforcement." Dafa practitioners Zhu Weiqiang, Zheng Caihong and Tan Zhiqiang were each sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment and 5 years of deprivation of political rights. Lu Suying, Song Zhenling, Wang Chunling, Li Juan, Yang Fang and Ge Dahua were each sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment, and 3 years of deprivation of political rights. Yang Chao, Peng Guizhi, Du Yongzhong, Liu Xia and Liu Ningning were each sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment; Jia Hong and Wang Yuhua each 5 years of imprisonment.

On the morning of July 8, 2004, Chuanhui District Court held a secret trial of 12 Falun Gong practitioners arrested on February 19, 2004. The whole process severely violated the law.

In the courtroom, no defense lawyer was allowed for the practitioners, nor was there anyone allowed to be in the audience. Only people from the legal and judicial departments were present. At 10:00am, the 12 practitioners were taken into the courtroom. Dafa practitioner Li Juan cried out first: "Falun Dafa is good!" Then all the practitioners yelled together, "Falun Dafa is the righteous way!" and "Falun Dafa is good!" Their voices resonated over the courtroom.

When the presiding judge read the fabricated charges forced upon the practitioners, Dafa practitioner Wang Chunling yelled: "We are innocent! Restore the reputation of Dafa!" Then all of the practitioners said together: "All the charges forced upon us are lies!"

The presiding judge had the practitioners defend themselves. However, practitioner Zhu Jianwei was able to read only one third of his self-defense material before his microphone was taken away. Wang Chunling said again: "Falun Dafa is good!"

The presiding judge ended the trial at 5:00pm in a hurry. During the seven-hour trial, the 12 practitioners used their powerful righteous thoughts to restrain the evil and clarified the truth to the people present.

(Clearwisdom.net) In 2002 and 2003, I set out large amounts of Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in the Shanghai Library. As a result, several police officers were sent to patrol the different reading rooms, which have since been closed After hidden cameras were installed in the entrance lobby ceilings, the police set me up as their target. In February 2004, I went to renew my expired library card. After renewing the card, I went to borrow some books. After a short while, I sensed that the situation that day was a bit strange. Thanks to Teacher's help, I left my seat. When I came back, I found several police officers and library staff members waiting at the reading room door. I calmly returned the books and left. After that, I discovered that my library and ID card numbers were being monitored by the library information system. Now, whenever you use any library computer to look for information on books or journals, you must swipe your card to gain access.

After that, I seldom went to the library. During this period, I mailed several lists of names of thugs who work for the Public Safety Department and the Political Security Office to many places. Some of these lists of names had been obtained from libraries. After officials in the Shanghai National Security Department discovered this, they removed some of the latest journals related to political security and the police from the reading room I used to frequent. They only left issues of these journals dated before 2004. The shelves of these journals were monitored directly by the video monitors. In addition, several hemispherical monitors had been added to this reading room--three of them evenly distributed along three-meter intervals.

One time a National Security officer came into the reading room, but I escaped again with my righteous thoughts. Since last year, some of the staff in that reading have become very suspicious of me. Obviously they received orders from their superiors. Of course, most of them have not caused me much trouble because they already know the truth. Some of them have even helped me a great deal.

In the future, my chances to go to the library will continue to decrease. The District Library in Shanghai now requires its patrons to have a library card from the Shanghai Library, as well as one from their district library, and all the libraries are interconnected. I sincerely hope that Dafa practitioners can put more emphasis on the staff of the Shanghai Library in clarifying the truth by telephone. Many of the staff are student interns who have just graduated from school. Please don't let them be deceived by the police, National Security or the "610 Office" in Shanghai.

(Clearwisdom.net) Greetings Master. Greetings Fellow Practitioners. I will talk about, "Learning how to clarify the truth to the government during the Fa-rectification cultivation period."

How should we understand the Fa-rectification cultivation period? How can we actively take part in cultivation during the Fa-rectification? This is the most important issue in our personal cultivation. If one cannot take the task of "saving beings compassionately" seriously in his/her personal cultivation, he/she will not be able to grasp the true meaning of cultivation during the Fa-rectification period, and he/she will not understand how to be an integral part of the Fa-rectification cultivation period.

The experiences in Iceland were a great step for me to better understand the significance of clarifying the truth to government. I watched how mainstream media positively covered Falun Gong stories, how the public rallied in front of the building of the premier's office. They asked the government to rescind their decision banning Dafa practitioners from entering Iceland. Not only that, but the people also went to the location where Dafa practitioners were held and organized large-scale protests against the head of the Evil's visit. In places where the evil was unable to manipulate and control, the public actively and bravely welcomed Dafa.

Later on I realized that since people in democratic countries vote for their government, if a government representing the public does not treat Dafa correctly, the future of that country will be affected.

There also was a time in another western country, that when the head of the Evil paid a state-visit, that government treated Dafa practitioners with disrespect. Such an event could determine that nation's future when the Fa rectifies the human world. Later this government apologized publicly in the newspaper. Every nation has a corresponding part in the cosmic body. This is the only time they can be saved and their understanding side is indeed anxious to be saved.

Dafa helps me understand an important issue. The old force intention was to prevent a nation and its people from being saved by corrupting its government. The reason why we clarify the truth to governments is that because it is elected by its people through a vote, therefore that government represents its people. The government's attitude towards Dafa determines the future of the nation.

After I understood the destructive arrangement of the old forces concerning governments in different nations, I found myself getting less frustrated than before, especially when the outcome of my efforts was not as good as I expected. There are groups of nations and their representatives that could have no future if we don't save them. Concepts that were previously abstract suddenly became clear. I realized my responsibility very clearly and there was no reason to not fulfill it.

Looking within, I began to understand the reason why government officials have not understood Dafa yet. The reason is that we have not clarified the truth well enough to them. The scope and strength of truth clarification is far from the requirement of the Fa rectification. On one hand are the old forces, which hold tremendous power and control over everything in this world. On the other hand, we find everyday people who are tempted by various interests and thus abandon their precious conscience. We hope they can deeply understand the truth. Only Master rectifies the Fa. Without Master, there is nothing. A new history and a new future are being created. If practitioners do not clarify the truth of the persecution against Falun Dafa, everyday people in society will remain under the old forces arrangement. Anger and complaining exposed my attachment while I was looking within myself. When I thought about this from the point of view that this is my mission and responsibility to save these people, I could see that much of my work was not done or not done well in this regard.

I recall that when the persecution just began, a practitioner and I often sent materials that explained the facts about the persecution to some government organizations. One official became rather sympathetic concerning Falun Gong. We felt guilty every time we left his office because we always spoke about the persecution, but not about the essence of Falun Gong. We would later regret that we did not tell him more about the practice of Falun Gong. Finally we made the effort to explain what Falun Gong is. It was very difficult for a number of reasons. First, the persecution is very grim. Secondly, there were many lies the Chinese government spread about Falun Gong. And lastly, our English was not good enough to explain clearly about spiritual matters. After we finished our explanation, though with some difficulty, he told us, "You explained very well." It was such wonderful encouragement and we were touched by his compassion and candor. Yet, we understand that it is not our skill that touched him, but a practitioners' pure heart.

Every one of us lives in the same city, the same country and may be a neighbor with someone employed at one of the governmental offices. If we don't want to feel regret at the moment when the Fa rectifies the human world, we should spend a little time, call them and tell them the facts. One day they might ask, your master asked you to save us, did you do it? We would have no response. If one person can spend one hour and call one or two government offices or organizations, the cumulative effect will be immeasurable. Everyday we cover a little more area, our righteous thoughts can solve a big problem, helping government to know the facts at a deeper level and choose the right position for themselves. In the meantime they can accomplish their assigned responsibilities in the international community. For Dafa practitioners, it's just a small thing to do during lunch time every day.

When we admire the compassion of Master who saves us and all sentient beings of the world, and when we cherish the mission to participate and save people, we will have made our point. We will contribute all our efforts to save all the lives of the world unselfishly.

Sometimes I am very pleased to see a government official or congressman really understand the facts of the persecution. Of course, if I search deep within, the happiness comes not only because this person made the correct choice, it is also a reflection of being satisfied with my work. Why am I satisfied with myself? Isn't it because I took the accomplishment of Dafa work as testimony to my personal cultivation and personal effort?

Whether we can truly and fundamentally understand from deep within ourselves the fact that all things we have done are being made possible by the compassion of Dafa and Master is also a personal cultivation process to merge into the Fa.

Clarifying the truth cannot be achieved solely by applying ordinary techniques and abilities. Here I would like to share with you a lesson I learned.

An American company that made investment in China participated in the persecution of Dafa practitioners under pressure. Many practitioners reported this case to their local congressmen. A positive force was formed at once to criticize this company's violation of human rights. The congressman who was responsible for the district where the company is located found the congressman who was taking the lead concerning the criticism of the company and requested a meeting with our practitioners. A practitioner from his local area flew to DC to join the meeting. Before we entered the office, I suggested that she ask her local congressman to sign a resolution sponsored by the other congressman who had been very supportive of us, right in front of this congressman himself. He wouldn't want to let the other congressman down, right? At the end of the meeting, the practitioner from out of state took out the signature form of the resolution in front of everyone. Before anyone could make out what that was, her local congressman grabbed the form and quickly rolled it up.

After searching within myself afterward, I realized that I was trying to use ordinary techniques, use an embarrassing situation to force him to make his choice instead of clarifying the truth thoroughly and make him understand from his heart. Of course it was useless. This was an important lesson. There is no detour concerning truth clarification. Our path is narrow. The narrower it is the more righteous we need to be. Otherwise it would be treating Dafa tasks like finishing up some ordinary things and being irresponsible to sentient beings.

Looking back, during the past four years, all the correct decisions that foreign governments made regarding Falun Gong were all made possible by Dafa, not us, and definitely not because of any individual practitioner. A fellow practitioner stated it well. What things could have been accomplished with our current abilities and techniques? None. Not a single matter. Our Master did them all.

If we mistook the manifestation of Fa-Rectification in this human dimension as the result of our personal effort, we would treat our projects as being more important than those of others. We would even complain about other practitioners who are too busy to get involved with government work. Likewise, if we also mistook projects done by other practitioners as the result of their personal effort, then we would most likely become critical of their work and start complaining as well. It is more difficult to break through the old force's blockage when we treat others as obstacles to our doing Dafa job. The process of realizing one's mistake and denying the old force's arrangement will be drawn out. When we treat ourselves as obstacles of other people's assisting in Fa-Rectification, we ourselves are walking in circles under the arrangement of the old force. We could not understand the Fa from within the Fa, and in the end, we would not only be incapable of helping others, we could end up falling into the trap ourselves. When we are righteous and pure as a Dafa practitioner should be, we are assimilated into the Fa instantly.

Each of us is protected under the Fa. Master told us the truth of the universe that has not been disclosed to anyone in the cosmos from ancient times. He told us of our origins going back in history reaching to today, lifetime after lifetime, and also our destiny and task. Out of immeasurable compassion, he provided the best chances for each and every one of us. In the lecture "To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference" on June 17th, 2001, Master said,

One should not be attached to oneself when cultivating in Dafa. Master stated the fundamentals of cultivation in Chapter One of Zhuan Falun,

Being attached to oneself makes it hard to balance the relationship between oneself, Dafa and fellow practitioners well. I'm learning also to acknowledge other practitioners in my Dafa activities. In the past, I was very stubborn. I held on to my own ideas, because I was sure that my ideas were correct. Gradually, Dafa has helped me to see the virtues of fellow practitioners, and made me realize that it is only when we are a whole can we form a powerful body. I became less concerned with the outcome of things and less critical, because I understand that no matter which practitioner has set out to carry out a task, even if the method and result are different from mine, the effect in the long run would nevertheless be the same. It is a process of cultivation and the power of the Fa. It is Dafa that accomplished everything.

Before when an idea was raised that did not conform to my thinking, my first thought that sprang into my mind would be something like: "This is wrong. It is not this way." Once a practitioner mentioned a government did such and such things. I corrected him by saying "No, it is our Dafa practitioners who did such things." After the words left my mouth, I immediately realized that his thoughts were not wrong, then why did I have to 'correct' him and not supplement his words? It was still that trivial self, the shallow concept of individual being that could not encompass other beings. Now when any suggestion comes my way, I think: "Very good! Maybe this point could be of benefit in what I'm doing as well." I once heard a very impressive story from a practitioner. There were three practitioners who went to clarify the truth to an embassy for an urgent matter. The official there was not enthusiastic. The first practitioner then started to slowly speak about the process of how he began practicing Dafa. Another practitioner was worried and wanted to interrupt his speech. The third practitioner stepped on her foot several times to stop her from doing that. Eventually, this official really listened to them, asked many questions directly related to Dafa and even expressed a willingness to further understand Dafa. Practitioners found that everyone has his own way of clarifying the truth and his own starting points. We can supplement each other. It is most effective when we add positive energy to support other practitioners' work.

Some people complained before that the door for government work was not wide open. I tried to improve the situation. On one side I did sincerely hope things could be made easier for others to join this effort, but there was one thought hidden deep inside. I also hoped to stop those complaints and criticism with my openness, when in fact if I indeed possessed great compassion and thought of other practitioners using the principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" as my standard, then those complaints would not even exist. My attachments to sentimentality, my human heart and lack of compassion were exposed. I tried to solve the problem as it was and forgot to use this chance to give up my own selfishness. Finally one day, I was reading Zhuan Falun and came across Master's words,

"If you are somebody who's really determined to cultivate, then I'd say it turns out it's a good thing. If there weren't any disagreements, or if there wasn't a chance to improve your character, you wouldn't be able to go up, actually--you're nice, I'm nice, and all's well... how are you going to cultivate?"

Then I suddenly understood. The situations I had experienced were there to raise up my xinxing (heart or mind nature, moral character). This helped me to see a greater dimension of cultivation and allowed me to search within. When others have an opinion, the very first thing we should look at is where we, ourselves, can make improvements. That is how can we truly function as a Dafa particle in our local area.

After listening to Master's Chicago lecture during this year's experience sharing conference, I realized that many times I cultivated within some tribulations. My actions usually followed this approach: whatever I do, I am facing difficulties and obstacles. I break through step by step, and finally we push forward a little as an entire group.

A similar situation occurred when filing lawsuits. When we started the case, all non-professional practitioners had difficulties with details. What's more, our inexperience with the legal system did not turn into our advantage of breaking through these barriers, but became a huge wall preventing us from actively clarifying the truth. We tried to take a more secure route and did not seek to break through. Instead we sought not to make mistakes, limited ourselves to a small circle designed by the old forces and could hardly make a step forward.

To clarify the truth to judges and legal experts, the first difficulty is that there are so many rules regarding this issue. Its easy to get reprimanded since we are not familiar with those rules. When many practitioners who had no previous experience clarifying the truth to governments and important officials actively joined the legal team, they had no limitations at all and were not attached to the results. We broke through the restrictions we set for ourselves in practice and bravely explained the facts to the experts. Then it seemed that there was nothing we could not achieve once we had a clear understanding of our mission.

In another case, while practitioners in one area were breaking through the obstacles and clarifying the truth to the government, practitioners in different areas were still repeating the process. How could we improve our understanding of Dafa as a whole body, so that once one group of practitioners improved, other groups would also benefit and the whole body could improve together?

Like Master said, "We negate even the very emergence of the old forces", we will not cultivate inside the ordeal arranged by the old force. Master taught us how to break through the old force's arrangement as a whole body, this helps us to let go of confusion, improve together and strengthen our efforts to save the sentient beings. Master teaches us the fundamentals and guides us to save more nations.

It is not difficult to clarify the truth to governments. What's difficult is that:

1) We have to realize, based on our personal cultivation states, that it is our mission as a Fa-rectification practitioner to save sentient beings and the responsibility cannot be transferred to others.

Unlike other projects, there is no daily progress report and deadline to meet when we clarify the truth to government officials. It's a more dynamic process. You won't see an immediate loss even if you don't do anything on a certain day or month.

Actually if we do not do our job well, the cost is the destruction of gigantic cosmic bodies and the corresponding beings living there. The immense Fa-rectification force determines the urgency and importance of our mission. Master mentions in " Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Chicago conference" that,

Like other truth clarifying projects, the government project is a process of stepping forward. We need to overcome our human concepts, fear, and laziness, and step forward to explain the facts face to face to government officials. When we treat them as sentient beings that have waited for their salvation for thousands of years, we can only feel our responsibility. To complete this responsibility, we can put down losses of our personal interest, and thus we can overcome our shortcomings. When we look inside, what we find are all things that are not pure and places that still need work. Actually what we have done is far from enough. We should put down our fear and overcome all obstacles to accomplish the mission and assist Master.

If we see that a person is on the edge of danger, that he could lose his life any minute, will we stretch out our hand and offer immediate help or wait for someone who has more experience rescuing people. If every one of us makes a phone call each day, a hundred disciples will have contacted a hundred government agencies or organizations, in a 10-day period, a thousand organizations would have been contacted. Every one or two months we can give them new materials which explain the facts about Falun Dafa. Seeing ourselves as particles in Dafa, as carriers of Dafa's compassion, and trying our best to do more, based on our pure minds, we can do everything well. Just step forward and do it: clarify the truth face to face. We'll do it better and better, because Master has given us enough knowledge, wisdom and compassion--Master has arranged all possibilities.

After being involved with several anti- torture displays I wish to share my understandings and experiences surrounding these truth-clarifying activities. I would also encourage more practitioners to share their personal experiences so we can all benefit and improve as we continue to hold these displays

After watching practitioners go through the process of preparing for the exhibit, having their make-up done, and taking on the roles of police and torture victims, it was obvious that this was a difficult thing for practitioners to undergo. Each day they would have to endure the sun, painful positions, and mental tribulations to re-enact these scenes. The act of our fellow practitioners taking on these roles is one of immense compassion. During this period of time when the old forces, dark minions and ordinary people are doing the most disrespectful thing--persecuting Dafa disciples--practitioners have the greatest mercy to allow themselves to be displayed in these terrible positions to save sentient beings. To my knowledge, in no other time in history have beings reenacted their own persecution to let ordinary people come to know the Truth. It is truly unprecedented. Therefore, we should not treat these exhibits as casual affairs. It is best to conduct ourselves in the most upright manner, and show the dignity of Dafa disciples at all times. While in costume during our roles as police and torture victims we should concentrate fully so that people can come to understand the truth. We should not play around, eat, or become lazy during the exhibit. If we treat these exhibits as casual truth clarifying activities they will lose their effectiveness and become a matter of routine. Only by truly having the right heart can the exhibits be successful.

In addition, the make-up and costumes should look as realistic as possible. As with everything else we do as Dafa disciples we should try our best to a good job. When the make-up is properly applied ordinary people are very touched and moved by what they see. If the make-up is not believable or the police costumes do not look real, then people may misinterpret our purpose or simply laugh at what they see. When the make-up is applied well one can see the striking difference between the "good" practitioners and the "dark/evil" police. We are "painting" a scene for ordinary people's minds to see. We should try our best to leave them with a long lasting impression.

The evil is extremely afraid of the torture displays. One practitioner shared with me that even when they are in storage they take on the role of repelling the evil. When practitioners use their hearts and righteous thoughts to build these display items they become Fa implements and are weapons that can be used to eliminate the evil anywhere they are set up.

My understanding from this is that when the evil or the beings controlled by the old forces are faced with what they have done through the torture displays, it immediately eliminates them. They cannot stand to see the horrible sins they have committed against Dafa and its disciples. So not only do these exhibits allow people to know the truth of what is happening in China, but they also clean out all the evil beings in other dimensions when they come to interfere with our activities.

During the Democratic National Convention, a large torture display was set up in our city. Each day began with setting up the torture displays, doing the make-up, setting up group practice, and a small group to send forth righteous thoughts continually. This created a strong field that became stronger as each day progressed.

The torture display was held in a different location, and arranged differently each day. Every day a mechanism would form around the site that brought sentient beings to us. When the exhibit moved, the people just followed us wherever we placed it. For example, we had several days in the same location in Copley Square Park (a park in Boston) and then we were scheduled to relocate to our regular local spot in the Boston Common for the last 3 days. The Parks Department called the night before and asked if we could move to another spot closer to the main street. Without any questioning we agreed and ended up with a wonderful location that brought many people to our site. Many practitioners remarked that this new site was better than the original one. Even if you looked over to the location where we were supposed to be, there were no people all day, so it appeared that this new spot was a better choice.

The next day we set up in our original assigned location and many practitioners commented that this location was unsuitable, that we should go back to yesterday's spot, why don't we talk to the Park's Department, etc. But, if one looked to where we were the day before there were no people- even though it was along the main street! It simply didn't matter where we set up. The people came right to wherever we were.

It is my understanding that when an event is properly formed in another dimension and everything is in place, a system forms. This system or mechanism revolves, drawing ordinary people to the event site, cleaning out the evil, and saving sentient beings.

When this mechanism forms completely it is unbreakable and no being can interfere with it. During the DNC activities in Boston each day this mechanism developed, grew, and completely formed. It in turn formed a larger mechanism which was made up of the previous day's components. The very last day during the DNC this mechanism was so powerful everything unrighteous completely dissolved inside it. It was almost impossible to have any tribulations in this field. It pulled people from all over the city to where we were set up. If one was on a roof or in the sky you could see people streaming toward the park. It was a Thursday afternoon and I had never seen so many people downtown. They were coming from everywhere. People brought their friends back to see the exhibit, while others came because they heard from other people about us. I also heard from a practitioner that someone in a helicopter saw our exhibit from the sky and came to see what was going on there.

After having spent a number of weeks at different torture exhibits I have been exposed to many different practitioners' approaches to clarifying the truth. I would like to share a few of them.

One approach was to use a tape recording that played behind the exhibit talking about the various torture methods used in China against Falun Gong practitioners. I think this a very good way if there are only a few practitioners available to talk to people. This tape can be an effective means to give people more information, but a live one-to-one interaction I have found is best at the exhibits. When there are practitioners at each exhibit explaining the facts it becomes like a tour, and it enables one to completely explain what is going on. Public speaking, where practitioners take turns sharing their experiences through a microphone is also another good way to reach people passing by the exhibits. Regardless of which way was used at the exhibits, simply having peaceful practitioners' music playing in the background always seemed to improve the field and the overall harmony during the truth clarification.

At the torture exhibits in our city and other regions many practitioners have remarked that everyday people are very moved by what they see and immediately wish to do something to help. In the past, we as practitioners have been limited in our attempts to provide those that want to help with something concrete to do. Of course they can sign a petition, or write a letter, but for many that is not enough, nor does it calm people after they experience this type of exhibit. This is where we can point them towards Friends of Falun Gong and Petals of Peace. They allow people an opportunity to join activities that can help to end the persecution. Having a table where people can learn to fold lotus blossoms or talk to a person at a "human rights" table enables people to help and come to understand more from another angle besides just the persecution or the practice. It makes sure that there is a little something for everyone to be a part of when we hold these events.

When all these components are in place like the torture exhibit, practicing the exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts, having practitioners clarifying the truth face-to-face, and "how to help" tables, it leaves no gaps and provides a great atmosphere to save sentient beings. Of course the anti-torture display can be set up anywhere and be successful regardless of whether these things are in place, but we should be mindful of what works and what doesn't. We should experiment with new ideas and not limit ourselves. It is also quite good to ask people what their feelings are about these exhibits to help us improve their effectiveness. After all they are the audience.

These Anti- Torture displays are powerful truth clarification tools. They shouldn't be done as if we are showing a movie or handing out a flyer. From my understanding, they can open a window to a person's heart; we should not treat them lightly. By continuing to improve these exhibits and increasing our understandings surrounding their importance, we will be better able to save more people.

(Clearwisdom.net) The abbot of Qingyun Temple in Shandong Province, Renlian, claimed that she had established predestined a relationship with Teacher on several occasions. Some practitioners who did not have a good understanding of the Fa and could not regard the Fa as Teacher admired her very much. She claimed that she would establish a Dafa cultivation base in Qingyun County, Shandong Province. Quite a few practitioners from all over the country went to her temple and offered donations. In mid-July, two practitioners from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province were arrested when they went to Qingyun. The police department conducted two searches of Qingyun Temple. It was said that 1.5 million Yuan in cash was found in the temple. At present, Qingyun Temple is considered a base of Dafa. The police dispatched agents to keep close watch, and monitored all practitioners going in and out of the temple. It was said that over 20 practitioners have been arrested while going to Qingyun. Renlian herself was also arrested by the police. A practitioner from Dalian who claimed his celestial eye was open led other practitioners to Qingyun seven times. In mid-July he was also arrested on his way to Qingyun.

As a matter of fact, such behavior has existed for several years. Earlier in 1999 Teacher solemnly warned those who wanted to establish a temple in Qingyun that their behavior was wrong. However, to this day, some people still do not follow Teacher's teachings. How can these people still be called disciples of Teacher? Some people collected a lot of money from practitioners and spread rumors that final consummation would happen in the temple, and that practitioners would have to wait 12 years if they can't consummate next year. These people have already done things that damage Dafa.

Here we remind practitioners to be sure to follow Dafa as Teacher and focus on the three things required of us by Teacher (1). Be sure that we walk our paths righteously and do not leave any loopholes for the evil to take advantage.

(Clearwisdom.net) On August 8, 2002, my uncle (a Falun Dafa practitioner) fell ill shortly after finishing reading some Dafa books. He felt dizzy, vomited, and died two hours later. The doctor diagnosed the cause of death as a stroke. His relatives could not believe he had died so suddenly and found it hard to accept. The local practitioners were also somewhat confused. We recalled how my uncle started practicing Falun Gong in January 1999; how he never stopped studying Dafa books, doing the exercises and promoting Falun Gong to others, how he shared his profound understandings, and how he did so well after July 20 1999 in validating Falun Gong and clarifying the truth. We came to the understanding that his death may be a test for all of us to see if we would continue to cultivate after seeing a diligent fellow practitioner pass away.

When I heard about his death, I was in a forced labor camp. My initial feeling was that it should not have happened. Why would a practitioner die like that during such a critical time in the Fa-rectification? Vaguely, I felt perhaps my uncle's righteous thoughts had not been strong enough. I also realized that cultivation is a very serious matter and that we should take control of our every thought. Only then can we walk our paths righteously. In Zhuan Falun Master said, "We'd say that a good or bad outcome comes from one thought. The difference in one thought leads to different results." Perhaps what happened to me later on can illustrate what Master Li said.

One night in December, I dreamed about riding in a car with my uncle and we were heading southeast where there were many practitioners. When he asked if I wanted to go, I hesitated and said, "I still have a lot to do." My uncle said, "Then you should get out of the car."

When I woke up, I thought that the dream was weird, but didn't think about it for long. On the evening of the following day, while I was watching the news in one of the classrooms at the forced labor camp, as we were forced to every day, I felt dizzy and vomited a lot. The inmates took me to a bed and left me alone. Two fellow practitioners helped me get up and walk to my bed. Then I heard a very real voice say, "Go quickly, and leave the body here." Then, I felt that my soul just left me and I saw two practitioners carrying my body, one went to call for the guards, and the other was shaking my body. I was shocked and didn't know what to do. I heard that deep voice again, "Come with me. Your work is done. We have a pact. Today is the day for you to leave." Although I didn't know where the voice was coming from, I realized it was interference. I shouted, "Master, help me. How can I leave now? Practitioners should leave in an open and dignified manner." So I started to send forth righteous thoughts. I saw some white light/substance carry my soul back to my body. My eyes opened.

By then, I had been laid on my bed. The doctor and guards were calling for emergency medical services; many practitioners surrounded me. One said to me, "You passed out, you did not have any blood pressure. The doctor said that it was very serious." When a guard heard that I had regained consciousness, she came over, still shocked, pushed me, and said, "What's the matter with you. You always cause us so much trouble." I didn't want to see her face, so I closed my eyes. Then I saw a horrible, dark face staring at me, but he stayed at a distance. He pointed his finger at me and accused me of not honoring the pact and said that if I didn't follow him, I would be going against heavenly principles. I knew that it must be the old forces. I said to it, "Master Li is compassionate. He treats you compassionately too and has given you many chances to position yourself. But you are attached to your own goals and interfere with Fa-rectification, which the universal principles do not allow." Upon hearing my words, it disappeared. At this time, my eyes filled with tears because I could feel Master's bountiful mercy, and felt that I was very lucky. When I read Master's Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A. I realized that I might have signed some kind of pact in the past with the old forces.

In 2003, I was released from the labor camp on medical grounds. When I got home, my father told me that one night he saw my uncle in a dream. My uncle said with tears in his eyes that he had not taken control of himself at one moment and told us to cultivate diligently to the very end. He also mentioned that he has cultivated to a very high realm and is waiting for us in another dimension with many other practitioners.

My aunt could not accept the fact that my uncle had passed away. She blamed his death on Falun Gong. One day, she said to me, "I now believe in Dafa. Your uncle said to me in a dream that he has consummated and asked me to treat Dafa correctly." She also said that our neighbors, who are also practitioners, saw my uncle in their dreams as well. They said he was sitting on a lotus holding a copy of Zhuan Falun. He said that the higher the realm, the more beautiful it is. I was so moved at hearing this and could feel Master Li's compassion.

Firstly, one is free to choose what they want at critical moments. Different thoughts will bring different outcomes as pointed out by Master Li in Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A. Master said,

The difference between my uncle and me was in our thoughts. Although I hadn't read this lecture at that time, I knew that I only had one Master and I would not listen to other gods no matter how high they appeared to be.

Secondly, we should cherish this one in a thousand lifetime's opportunity to validate Dafa and save sentient beings. Although I do not know what was on the minds of others like my uncle as they passed away before the arrival of the Fa in the human world, and how different they were from those who negate the arrangements of the old forces and stay to validate Dafa and save the sentient beings, at least we are walking the path arranged by Master and will be able to do more to save lives and have more opportunities to establish our mighty virtue. This is probably one of the reasons my uncle was crying when he talked to me in a dream.

Thirdly, Master mercifully saves sentient beings; but the arrangements of the old forces damage the righteous faith of practitioners and eventually bring damage to all sentient beings. The passing of my uncle brought some interference to the righteous faith of practitioners and some everyday people who may have been predestined to also practice Falun Dafa. Master used the arrangements of the old forces, my dreams, and my understanding of the Fa principles to enlighten us and strengthen our righteous faith and righteous understandings. This is what prompted me to write this article.

Basking in Master's mercy, we have no reason not to do well. We can only cherish Master's mercy more and walk our paths righteously.

This is my personal understanding. Please kindly point out anything that is inappropriate

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, some of my fellow practitioners have begun to have illness tribulations and thought karma, which strongly interferes with them, keeping them from doing the three things that Falun Dafa practitioners should do. I would like to share some of my thoughts on this matter. If there is anything inappropriate, I ask fellow practitioners to point it out compassionately.

Currently when practitioners have illness tribulations, they believe it to be interference and persecution, and so ask fellow practitioners to help them by sending forth righteous thoughts. But when fellow practitioners suggested studying the Fa (1) together, they claimed that it is either too loud or too difficult for them to read simultaneously, and have used such excuses to avoid [group Fa study]. Of course, even though sending forth righteous thoughts has a certain effect, it is still necessary for practitioners to look inward to see why they are being interfered with, and why they have been suffering from illness tribulations for so long and so severely. If they don't have any loopholes, then the evil will have no place to go (though Dafa practitioners must not acknowledge such a persecution, even if they have loopholes).

We are cultivators, so we must also raise our xinxing (heart or mind nature, moral character). Teacher had said, "We emphasize one point: If you cannot relinquish the attachment or concern for illness, we cannot do anything and will be unable to help you." (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun (2)). When some practitioners have strong symptoms of illness tribulations, they immediately think that they have contracted some disease, and can no longer look at it from the point of view of the Fa. Some of them even said that it was genetic, and that his or her mother also had this illness. Even at very critical moments, they did not think about Teacher or the Fa, but used human notions.

We should suggest to our fellow practitioners that they study the Fa, expose the evil, and clarify the truth, while at the same time finding some time to help these practitioners who are going through tribulations. Everyone should look inward to see if there are still fundamental attachments that have not yet been discovered, and which are still strongly interfering with Fa-rectification. Fellow practitioners: Fa-rectification is nearing the end, and there are still so many beings that are awaiting salvation! Teacher can do all these for us, but the key is that we have to be able to let go of these human notions and let go of these attachments. We all know that studying the Fa is not learning some theory; it is Teacher explaining the truth of the universe to us. If we cannot stay steadfast in the Fa that Teacher has taught us, and if we are unable to unconditionally assimilate to Dafa (3) and to align our every thought and action with Teacher's Fa, or if we believe the manifestations of this world is the truth of our existence, then we should really all calm down, and think this over rationally. Cultivation is serious; we cannot take any human notions with us.

At the same time, when other practitioners witness these incidents, they should also look inward so that everyone can upgrade together, cooperate with one another, strengthen the whole body's thoughts towards Fa-rectification, and let go of human sentimentality. Everyone should be able to understand clearly the historical mission that is bestowed upon Fa-rectification period practitioners, and we should walk every step well.

I am 63 years old, and I have been practicing Falun Dafa since January 20, 2003.

Before practicing, I suffered 10 years of diabetes and developed several complications including, heart disease, high cholesterol, hardening of the arteries, cataracts in both eyes, limbs going numb, and passing out from dizziness from time to time. My heart could not supply blood quickly enough, my hands and feet were numb and in pain, my nails turned dark, and I suffered constipation for long periods of time. In 2002, I had a cataract operation on my right eye. Because my blood sugar level did not go down for a long period, six months later my right eye had glaucoma and the operation failed. The nerves in my right eye were damaged during the operation and it went completely blind. My left eye only had a vision of 0.3. I often tripped and fell when walking due to my lack of clear vision. During the past 10 years, I took countless kinds of Chinese and Western medicines but nothing worked. Every day, I had four injections and I took medicine, but it did not help. Not a single part of my body felt normal. I could not eat or sleep well, nor could I perform housework. Words cannot express the pain I was in, and I had no courage left to live.

On January 20, 2003, just when I had completely lost all hope, I learned about Master Li's Falun Dafa from a relative, and this is what saved me. I understood the Fa (1) teachings to be a supernormal science. Falun Dafa is based on the characteristics of the Universe, "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance," and these are the principles that guide our cultivation. The purpose of living is to return to one's truth self, and Master Li came here to offer people salvation. I also learned the five exercises.

Three days into studying, I could feel Falun spinning on my body, abdomen, and legs. When I was practicing the Heavenly Circuit standing exercise, I felt that the energy in my whole body was circulating. At that time, I could not express my joy and gratitude with words. I felt that Master Li was taking care of me by giving me Falun and purifying my body. After that I became energetic and never took injections or medicine again.

After learning Falun Dafa for a week at my relative's home, I went back home. Then I listened to Master Li's recorded lectures day and night without stopping. I asked my spouse to read Zhuan Falun (2) to me and Dafa (3) was always in my heart. I studied the Fa, practiced the exercises, and sent forth righteous thoughts every day. When I was doing the exercises, my arms, legs, and the rest of my body were in pain. Sometimes it was so painful that I was in tears and I felt very bad. However, I kept Master Li's words in mind, "When it's difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it's impossible to do, you can do it." (Zhuan Falun) I broke through all of the tribulations. After I had cultivated for three months, the pain went away, my face turned pink and my diabetic symptoms were basically gone, and my nails were no longer black. When my friends and relatives saw me, they were all very surprised and asked, "Are you cured? No more illnesses?"

I still had trouble with my eyesight so I tried to use a magnifying glass to read the book and study the Fa on my own. At the beginning I couldn't see too well, but eventually I was able to see clearly. After I had read Zhuan Falun more than ten times, I did not need a magnifying glass during the daytime. Some supernormal phenomena started to occur: my left eye often saw Falun spinning, and my blind right eye often saw lights with different colors. My xinxing (heart or mind nature, moral character) was also rising continuously. I started taking things lightly at home, and in society. In terms of money, material interests, and other various matters, I also took them lightly. When I first started to practice the exercises, I could not reach tranquility, but slowly I was able to.

After I cultivated for over two months, I used my own experience to convince my spouse and my other relatives to learn Falun Dafa. Very quickly Master Li purified their bodies. They've had no diseases since then and did not need to take medicine. They started their own cultivation paths. Now they are also very diligent.

I have obtained the Fa late and my cultivation time has been relatively short, but Master Li also purified my body, gave me Falun, and arranged my path. It was Master Li who gave me a second life. I thank Master Li for imparting the Dafa and for revealing the true meaning of life. I can only use my genuine heart to repay Master Li, repay Dafa and diligently cultivate until consummation.

(Clearwisdom.net) Peng Jinsheng, head of the National Security Section of Jiujiang City Police Department, Jiangxi Province had a full-time job persecuting Falun Gong practitioners since the persecution began on July 20, 1999. He had abducted over sixty practitioners and sent them to forced labor camps. At the end of December 2001, Peng Jinsheng suddenly died of a stroke while he was en route to Taiping Mountain, Wuning County to arrest Dafa practitioners.

After his death, city and provincial newspapers showed him merit for persecuting Dafa practitioners in such forms as how many practitioners he had kidnapped and what cases he had investigated successfully. The newspapers reported how he had tracked down and caught the practitioners who were wanted by the Ministry of Public Security and sent over 60 practitioners to forced labor camps in 18 days. He received rewards and was named a "revolutionary martyr" by the government after he died for his persecutory deeds.

But the people who knew the facts about his death all understood that he met with karmic retribution for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. Liu Yongjin, a 33-year-old university graduate, is from Hedong District of Linyi City. He was illegally abducted in mid-June. After seven days of being tortured by the local "610 Office" staff he was taken to Wangchun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City. He has now been on hunger strike for over fifty days in protest of the illegal detention.

Ms. Chen Xiuyun, who is in her fifties, is a retired teacher from Weihui City Kindergarten. On the afternoon of June 3, 2004, Chen Xiuyun was abducted by the City Public Security Bureau and detained in Weihui Detention Center. It has been over forty days and she hasn't yet been released.

Dai Chunsheng, a practitioner from Xiazaizi Village of Beisan Township, Qingyuan County, was forcibly abducted from home by government officials and policemen from Beisan Township. His Falun Dafa books and materials were confiscated without justification.

Niu Shengbiao, director of the Politics & Law Committee from Gaoyi Public Security Bureau, along with Zhang Jianchao, and Sun Ruixiang, head of the National Security Team, abducted Zhang Jianchao, a Falun Gong practitioner from Dongliangzhuang Village of Gaoyi County at his home. They kept him in custody in the Gaoyi Detention Center. On June 23, 2004, he was sent to Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term that was illegally imposed.

Mr. Wen Xianguo is from Xiaopeng Township of Yingshan County, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. He was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials at the free market in Luoshi Town. Currently, he is being detained in Yingshan Detention Center.

At the Tailai Prison in Heilongjiang Province, steadfast Falun Dafa practitioners have been brutally tortured. They were not only beaten, handcuffed, and shackled, but also were hung by their chest or stomach, with the legs, arms, head, and neck dangling downwards. This position is very painful and results in numbness of different body parts, including the legs, arms, and neck. Some who suffered this torture lost consciousness. It is a cruel and painful torture. Besides the torture, Dafa practitioners were forced to perform slave labor for 13 hours each day. If they failed to fulfill their quota they would be handcuffed and shackled.

Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Xu Jiahui and Ms. Hu Zhiqin of Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, were arrested at their homes and taken to the Jiamusi Detention Center by Wang Huamin and about six policemen from the Qianjin Public Security Bureau. Xia Zhigang and Li Min from the practitioners' work units and police station assisted policemen in the arrest.

Another Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Zhai Guangjun, was arrested and taken to the Jiamusi Detention Center on June 22.

At about 10 o'clock on July 7, 2004, the Lianjiangkou Public Security Bureau ransacked Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Lu Yali's home without presenting legal documents. Then the police dragged Ms. Lu Yali into a police car and took her to the Jiangbei Police Station. Informed sources disclosed that there was a quota, assigned by the Jiangbei Police Station, for the recent arrest of Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Lu Yali has now been taken to Jiamusi Detention Center.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Yufang was tortured at the Jiamusi Detention Center. As a result she suffered from stiffness and weakness of the hands, legs, and feet. Ms. Wang Yufang was to be taken to Harbin Prison, therefore the guards at the detention center ordered the inmates to make her exercise daily. Guard Li Yanpo also forced Falun Dafa practitioners to recite the prison rules and regulations and incited the criminals to beat up Ms. Lu Zhongfeng.

Since the Chinese New Year of 2004, and more frantically since the beginning of July, the head of the Machengshi City "610 Office," Luo Zisheng, deputy head of the City Public Security Bureau, Huang Shaokui, Li Jiede of the National Security Bureau, and the police from police stations Gulou, Nanhu, Longchi, Baiguo Township, Songbu Township, and other locations arrested practitioners residing in their respective areas and ransacked their homes.

Altogether about twenty households have been looted and more than ten Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zeng Jinhuan was sent to Wuhan City Braiwashing Center. Dafa practitioners Ms Wang Ying, Yu Xueneng, and Ms. Wang Aihua were forced to become homeless and wander from place to place to avoid being arrested.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Dong Xiuqin, 65, from Shijingshan District, Beijing was arrested on April 5, 2004 while she distributed truth-clarification materials. She is now detained at the Dongcheng District Detention Center at Qiliqu, Shahe, Beijing. Ms. Dong Xiuqin was very steadfast, and suffered a comminuted fracture [more than one fracture] to her legs, and is unable to walk. We hope those on the inside can provide further details of her condition.

I am a Falun Dafa practitioner who has just been released from the Tianjin Women's Forced Labor Camp. All female forced labor camps are currently under the jurisdiction of the Dagang Area (formerly Banqiao Women's Labor Camp). About 100 Falun Dafa practitioners are detained there. This number also includes those who were detained at the Jianxin Women's Forced Labor Camp.

In November 2003 the Tianjin Women's Forced Labor Camp established an administrative division, which is actually called a roughneck team, specializing in persecuting steadfast Falun Gong practitioners. Since the establishment of this division, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Ruiqin and another female practitioner have always kept righteous thoughts and righteous actions, therefore no corporal punishment nor sweet words can move their hearts.

At present the number of female Falun practitioners who are sentenced to forced labor is on the increase. Most of them were arrested quietly and in secret, and then sentenced.

Ms. Li Suyun, Falun Dafa practitioner of Xitian Village, Huanghuadian Township in Wuqing District, Tianjin Municipality, went to Shanxi to visit her mother during the Chinese New Year of 2004. She was reported, and arrested as a result. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Mi, 34, of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is a teacher at Shuren University of Zhejiang. In 2001, the police arrested her and ransacked her home. After she walked out of detention with righteous thought she was placed on the wanted list. At the beginning of this year she was arrested again by the Hangzhou police. She is now detained at the Hangzhou Detention Center. Zhao Mi's husband, Wei Xiaolin, is currently studying in South Carolina in the United States. We hope that overseas practitioners help to find him and notify him about his wife's arrest.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wen Fenglan is over 60-years old, and is from Shijiazhuang City. She lives in the dormitories of the Shijiazhuang Automobile Manufacturing Plant. At about 9 o'clock on July 19, 2004, policemen from the Qiaodongqu District Police Sub-bureau and the Shengli Beijie Police Station went to Ms. Wen's home in three cars. They arrested Ms. Wen and took her to the Shengli Beijie Police Station. The police also ransacked her house at the same time. One day later, Ms. Wen was transferred to the Hebei Provincial Brainwashing Center. During the detention the police extorted 3,000 Yuan (1) cash from her family and ordered her family to pay 450 Yuan for hiring a so-called education assistant. The police threatened to sentence Ms. Wen to forced labor if the money is not paid.

The depraved people failed in their attempt to sentence student Zhang Yanming of the Bayi Land Reclamation and Cultivation University in Heilongjiang Province to forced labor, because of rescue efforts by practitioners worldwide. Some of these efforts included telephone calls and sending righteous thoughts. The university refused to issue a diploma to Ms. Zhang Yanming because she refused to renounce her belief. Instead she was granted a certificate certifying that she studied at the university.

On July 29 2004, five practitioners from Bobai in Guangxi, including Ms. Zhu Chunping, Su Jing, and Wang Xuxin, were arrested by police while handing out truth-clarification materials in Yingqiao Township.

Five Falun Dafa practitioners including Su Huaifu and Ms. Sun Liu'e from Henan Province were arrested while clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa in Shanxi. They are currently being held at the Zezhou Detention Center in Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, and have been detained for over a month.
