Montreal, Canada: People Thank Practitioners for Holding Anti-Torture Exhibit to Explain the Facts about the Persecution (Photos)

July 21, 2004 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Clearwisdom correspondents Zheng Ziyan and Xiao Yan report: Falun Gong practitioners in Montreal and Ottawa held an anti-torture exhibit at Victoria Square in downtown Montreal on July 19, 2004 to expose Jiang's political group's five-year brutal persecution. Practitioners said, "These are only a few torture methods, more and more evil torture methods are hard to reenact. We hope people will realize that in China, one hundred million Falun Gong practitioners have suffered a five-year brutal persecution simply for following the principle of 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.' We call upon people to help stop this catastrophe." The audience sincerely thanked practitioners for telling them about the truth, and demanded to bring perpetrators to justice and encouraged practitioners to keep up until the end.

Victoria Square is a place where staff members who work in government, finance and the judicial system pass on the way to and from work. It is also a place for them to take the noon break, and a busy tourist site. From 8:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., people who viewed the exhibit were countless. They were shocked at Jiang's group's persecution of kind people.

Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong is Absolutely Wrong

Facing the practitioners who were reenacting the torture methods, "Tiger Bench," "Dead Person's Bed," and "Hanging" and other torture methods, Ms. Langevin said, "This is absolutely wrong, that criminal dictator should be thrown into prison." Mr. Bechard said, "The Chinese Embassy should know that our Canadians know these things (referring to Jiang's group's persecution of Falun Gong), we strongly protest such treatment to Falun Gong practitioners." Ms. Louise, a staff member of subway said in tears, "Such brutal persecution is destroying the Chinese culture. Chinese traditional culture has been teaching people to be good in several thousand years, now people who strive to be good people are even subjected to persecution." Miss Messier and her mother expressed that, "It is possible that such cruel things happen during wartime, but it is 2004 right now, and it targets at ordinary people like Falun Gong practitioners. The Canadian government should intervene and call for an immediate end to such persecution."

Thank Falun Gong Practitioners for Explaining the Facts

Many audience members thanked Falun Gong practitioners for telling them about the truth of persecution after viewing the exhibit and finishing reading Dafa truth clarification materials. A teacher Ms. Chapp repeatedly thanked practitioners and said, "You've done the best thing. We should not allow such things happen. Only spreading the truth can help stop such unreasonable persecution." A man held a practitioners' hands tightly and said, "I've viewed them all, thank you very much! I've signed to support the lawsuit against Jiang. You must keep up. More people know, the persecution will not be able to continue."

Especially Oppose "Forced Labor"

Kind Canadians especially oppose that perpetrators use "forced labor" to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Madore not only signed to request for an end to the horrific persecution, and also emphasized, "We want to trade with democratic China but not autocratic China." Ms. Louise saw the reenactment of "Slave Labor" and said, "We all know the commodities imported from China are cheap, but we don't know that the cost are peace and life. We Canadian government should send out voices, otherwise, if allowing China (Jiang's group) to ruthlessly persecute good people, there would be no place safe in the world."

Torture is Hard to Believe

On man said, "the exhibit leaves an deep impression on me. Due to Tiananmen Massacre in 1989, no one would doubt that such brutal tortures take place in China." Another man learned that there are more cruel torture methods, and said to a practitioner, "Such brutality, has been hard to believe, are there crueler torture methods? It's really hard to believe, but I can understand. They (Communist countries) take people's life lightly. How fortunate I am living in Canada,"

Special Help and Wishes from a Seventy-year-old Man

Mr. Madore, a 70-year-old non-practitioner, helped making, transporting and assembling the props for the exhibit. He told a reporter, "I don't participate in any activities, but Falun Gong activities are an exception. Falun Gong practitioners are all good people. If all people all conducted themselves according to 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance,' the human world would become Heaven. I oppose persecution and killing, so I help Falun Gong. I also made a Falun Gong's 'Fa Boat,' and took part in Falun Gong parade."

"My wife and son practice Falun Gong, and my relatives all know that and they all feel good about their practice of Falun Gong. Influenced by my son, I no longer hunt, nor cut trees, I even drive away insects that fall on me, because I understand all lives are precious."

"I hope the Canadian government will say 'No' to China's persecution of Falun Gong. They even can say to China, 'If you don't stop the persecution of Falun Gong by a certain time on a certain day, Canada will stop importing any goods from China.'"
