(Clearwisdom.net) I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. After July 20, 1999, I was locked up in police stations and detention centers several times for going to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa and for distributing truth-clarifying materials. I was sentenced to two years of forced labor in 2001. Later I managed to come out of the labor camp with righteous thoughts and rejoined the Fa-rectification activities.
I had only one thought at the time, "I will do anything as long as it is good for Dafa." I followed Master's teachings to do the three things well. In the past two years, I have become more clear-headed, rational and mature; I felt that I had improved rapidly in the process of clarifying the truth, and had become more and more righteous on my cultivation path. The following are some of my personal experiences to share with fellow practitioners.
In "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference, 2002" Master told us,
"This is why each Dafa disciple needs to realize the importance of clarifying the truth. This, more than anything, is what you should do with all your effort, and it's the most magnificent. The salvation of sentient beings and the Consummation of cosmic bodies that correspond to you are all part of this. Every single Dafa disciple needs to do this. Don't miss a single opportunity."
When I first came out of the labor camp, I still had some fear, so I only clarified the truth to friends, relatives, coworkers, former classmates and people that I knew well, and the number of people to whom I clarified the truth was rather limited. At the beginning of 2002, I decided to go out in society and clarify the facts to people face to face. I tried not to miss any opportunity to clarify the truth. Here I have several stories to share.
Whenever it came to a so-called "sensitive date," I would be sent to a brainwashing class. At the brainwashing class, I continued to study the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts. Every morning I got up at 3 am to do the exercises. I took every opportunity to clarify the truth to anyone who came in contact with me. Within a week I clarified the truth to more than 20 people, and the effect was very good. Some staff members of the class even asked me for Dafa books to read. One of them told me, "It seems to me that all the stories (slandering Dafa) were made up by Jiang's group. I will never try to transform any Falun Gong practitioners any more; in fact no one can transform them."
Once, a fellow practitioner and I shared a taxi. We started telling the taxi driver the truth about Dafa as soon as we got into the car. The driver was very happy to listen to us, and he refused to charge us for the ride. He said, "It must be very hard for you to do this. Moreover, you have already given me a VCD."
One day, I went to the local police station. There were about a dozen people in the office. I immediately started looking for opportunities to clarify the truth to them. I saw a young man reading a newspaper, so I looked at the newspaper over his shoulder and said to him that these days a lot of reports in the newspaper were untrue. The young man agreed, and I went on to say, "Reports slandering Falun Gong are not true either." This gave me a starting point to clarify the truth; at least half of the people in the room were happy to listen to me. A police officer pretended to stop me, "Stop, they will not believe what you say." I said, "You have listened to what I said as well, and it will bring you benefits." He did not say anything any more. Everyone listened to me, and a young man even said he would tell others what he learned.
Whenever I encountered difficulties and interruptions, I would remind myself what Master said in Zhuan Falun,
"Wandering about is pretty hard--he goes from place to place, begging for food and running into all kinds of people who laugh at him, and insult him, or take advantage of him. He runs into all kinds of things."
Whenever I lost confidence, I would remember Master's "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Washington D.C. Fa Conference,"
"While they're clarifying the facts some students often run into people who don't want to listen, don't accept things, or are even antagonistic. You shouldn't let one person's opposition be a mental setback for you or make you lose the courage to save sentient beings. ... You'll run into this kind of person when you clarify the facts. You should be clear and rational: we're saving those who can be saved. But as Dafa disciples, you cultivate kindness, so you should be compassionate."
From Master's Fa, I found courage and confidence again.
There is a lot more that I experienced while clarifying the facts. I deeply appreciate that our righteous thoughts and righteous deeds all come from the Fa, and only by studying the Fa well can we do better in clarifying the truth. In the process of clarifying the truth, I also realized a lot of shortcomings that I needed to improve. I will continue to study the Fa well and improve myself in order to do well the three things all Dafa disciples should do.
