Wang Zhiqian, over 50 years old, a Falun Gong practitioner from Jinshantun City, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, had been detained in Yichun Forced Labor Camp for three years. He was released in October 2003, only to be transferred to Suihua Forced Labor Camp for further detention and torture. In March 2004, he was deceived and threatened, "Don't you want to investigate the cause of Lu Chenglin's death?" We have not heard any news of Wang since then.

Mr. Wang Xinchun, a Falun Gong practitioner and an employee of the Fengmao Tree Farm, Jinshantun District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, became disabled as a result of being tortured by authorities for practicing Falun Gong. On May 16, 2004, he traveled more than 30 miles from Fengmao to Jinshantun District using a hand-operated wheelchair. He told people about the truth of the persecution and sent forth righteous thoughts along the way. When he arrived at Jinshantun District at noon, several police officers forcibly pushed him in his wheelchair to the Public Security Bureau. They searched him, confiscated his wheelchair, pushed him to the ground, and then took him to a car to be driven home. Wang Xinchun wanted to do some shopping first, but the police would not let him, as they feared that he would tell people the truth that the persecution had caused his disability.

Qidong County Dafa practitioners Tan Bangyan, Jiang Pinglian, and Luo Ling were arrested on November 8, 2002 for printing Dafa truth-clarification materials. They have been detained in a detention center for 18 months.

On October 22, 2003, the authorities sent a notice ordering the use of "re-education through forced labor", and issued a warrant for the practitioner's arrest on
November 10. On March 10, 2004, they were "tried" in court. Notices of their sentences were issued on March 30, which illegally sentenced Tan Bangyan to 8 years, Jiang Pinglian to 8 years, and Luo Ling to 5 years in prison. The appeal period was set to end on April 9. Another trial was heard on May 9, and the written verdicts were sent out on May 18. At the first court hearing, only Luo Ling's family members had been notified, but the family of Jiang Pinglian and Tan Bangyan were not notified. The relevant authority plans to send them to "serve their prison sentences" before June 12.

Also, at about 3 p.m. on May 19, 2004, some personnel from the Hunan Qidong County Procuratorate asked practitioners Tan Jinyun, Deng Honghua, and Cao Ruiyun to go to the detention center interrogation room and sign the warrants. They all refused to sign, so the procuratorate personnel said to them, "There will be a trial in several days."

According to normal legal procedure, four to eight weeks after a warrant is issued, a notice of intent is sent out, and then two to four weeks later the case is tried in court. We have never heard of a court hearing occurring within a few days of a warrant being issued. From this, you can see that the Jiang regime has never obeyed the laws when dealing with Dafa practitioners since the persecution of Falun Gong started.

Ms. Liu Hongmei, from Jinan City, Shandong Province, about 30 years old, was sentenced to 7 years in prison for practicing Falun Gong. She is being held in the Shandong Province Women's Jail, and has been conducting a hunger strike for 10 weeks to protest her arrest (the details are unknown).

The names of some other steadfast practitioners who are also detained and persecuted in Shandong Province Women's Jail include Cheng Huiping (Jinan), Li Guangqin, Wang Jinling (Qingdao), and Wang Wei (Jinan).

4. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Ren Yanzhi Taken to the Hebei Brainwashing Center

Shijiazhuang Qiaodong Public Security Sub-bureau arrested Dafa practitioner Ren Yanzhi from her home, and then ransacked her belongings. The police did not find any Dafa articles. Ms Ren was sent to the notorious Hebei brainwashing center. The sub-bureau police even intended to extort 3,000 yuan (1) from her family. Her family member is also a Dafa practitioner, and righteously resisted.

Dafa practitioners Sun Qingjun and Wang Hua had been living on the streets for a long time in order to avoid being harassed by the Qiaodong Public Security Sub-bureau police. Early this year, they were arrested, secretly detained, and abused for more than a month. They were then sentenced to 3 years of forced labor. Sun Qingjun was sent to Shijiazhuang No. 5 Forced Labor Camp, and Wang Hua was sent to Shijiazhuang No. 4 Forced Labor Camp. Qiaodong Public Security Sub-bureau police also extorted 1,000 yuan from each practitioner's family.

On the night of May 13, 2004, Chengde City, Pingquan County Dafa practitioner Wang Jianhua was arrested from his home by local police officers without a warrant. His son, Wang Rundong, a grade 3 student at Pingquan County No. 1 High School, who will be taking the college entrance exam soon, was arrested at the same time. It is reported that Wang Jianhua is conducting a hunger strike in the Pingquan County Detention Center to protest his arrest.

On May 12, 2004, Guangzhou Dafa practitioners and married couple Gao Dandi and Chen Chunli were arrested from their rented room. They were taken to the Tianhe Brainwashing Center. Their truth-clarification materials and production equipment were confiscated. In November 2003, police had intended to catch them at their home, but they escaped and did not return home to avoid further illegal arrests. It is reported that they were followed for a while before they were arrested. Gao Dandi was transferred to Guangzhou City Brainwashing Center in Chatou, which detains a few dozen male and female Falun Gong practitioners. Everyone is isolated and monitored around the clock.

Guangzhou City Brainwashing Center appears to be the "Guangzhou City Legal System School" to the public, but a three-story school has been changed to a prison with six iron gates. The 1^st floor detains male Dafa practitioners, the 2^nd floor detains female Dafa practitioners, and the 3^rd floor is for the center personnel offices.

Mr. Wang Xidong is a Falun Gong practitioner in Buliu Town, Rongcheng City, Shandong Province. Because Wang was reported, on May 14, 2004, Xing Jianping (female), chief of Political Protection Section of Rongcheng City Public Security Bureau, led seven people to rush into Wang's home, and forcibly took him away. The police searched the home without a warrant, and confiscated all Falun Gong books, Wang Xidong daughter's duplicate reading machine, and a security bag valued at 600 yuan. They also attempted to lie to the family, however Wang's wife Yu Shuiyu saw through them, so their plan failed. The police used force to get the practitioners' fingerprints.

Around 9 a.m. on May 31, 2004, Jinzhou City Shiqiaozi Community personnel went to Dafa practitioner Wang Guifen's home, and asked her to go to the community office to write a "guarantee statement" (2). When she arrived there, she was arrested, and then sent to the Jinzhou City Brainwashing Center the next day. Jinzhou City Brainwashing Center located in Jinzhou City Party Committee School, has already detained at least ten practitioners.

Dalian City Jinzhou District practitioner Zhang Guoli was arrested on the morning of May 28, 2004 while distributing Dafa truth-clarification materials in Jinzhou District People's River. He is currently held at Jinzhou Sanli Detention Center, the details are under investigation.

On May 26, 2004, a Dafa truth-clarification material production site in Yanji City was destroyed; Xu Yongzhe, Zhang Hui, Cai Fuchen, and approximately 20 other Dafa practitioners were forcibly taken away. Some practitioners were arrested at the site, and some practitioners' homes were ransacked.
