Prague, March 19th 2004 -- Prague, March 19, 2004 On the occasion of the Falun Dafa Day, Olympic Watch (Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games in a Free and Democratic Country) has issued a statement today, condemning the religious persecution in the People'ss Republic of China. "Olympic Watch condemns the ongoing violation of rights of Falun Gong practitioners, as well as of Tibetan Buddhists, Chinese Christians and followers of other spiritual movements. On this day, our thoughts go to all those who are being detained, tortured and otherwise persecuted for their peaceful activities," reads the statement signed by Jan Ruml, Chairman of Olympic Watch.
The Beijing government continues to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They are subject to detention and torture, often even resulting in death. Dozens of Falun Gong practitioners are currently imprisoned for merely peacefully publishing their beliefs on the internet. Olympic Watch sees their persecution as one of the clearest manifestations of the abhorrent situation in China.

As people around the world celebrate World Falun Dafa Day today, Olympic Watch calls on the government of the People's Republic of China to stop the persecution of peaceful believers in China.
Olympic Watch condemns the ongoing violation of rights of Falun Gong practitioners, as well as of Tibetan Buddhists, Chinese Christians and followers of other spiritual movements. On this day, our thoughts go to all those who are being detained, tortured and otherwise persecuted for their peaceful activities. The fate of Falun Gong practitioners is a clear example of the horrific situation in China: people are punished for peacefully practicing their beliefs or expressing their opinions. Large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners daily face persecution and during detention are often subject to torture. Several Falun Gong practitioners have also been persecuted for peacefully promoting their beliefs on the internet.
During its bid for the organization of the 2008 Olympic Games three years ago, the Beijing government promised that the organization of the Games will contribute to human rights improvements in China. Thus, on World Falun Dafa Day, we call on them yet again to start taking clear steps by respecting the freedom of speech and of religion and by refusing the abhorrent practices of torture and ill-treatment.

Celebrating the 12th Anniversary since the Introduction of Falun Gong
During this 12th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Gong to the public, I would like to associate myself as the Federal Deputy of Pierrefonds-Dollar to this very special celebration in Montreal.
The principles of Truth, Compassion and Forbearance that you put forth are dear to the hearts of all Canadians despite their origins.
I, therefore, encourage you all to persevere in this peaceful path, this path so indispensable if we want to achieve serenity and peace.

(Clearwisdom.net) A British MEP Kris Davis, replied to Falun Gong practitioners about a letter he sent to the French government stating "France, please uphold freedom." He wrote, "I am deeply regretful about the French government bowing to the pressures from China and arresting a large number of peaceful people who were not against any public laws. Such behavior is against the foundation principles of the French State, 'Liberty, Equality, Fraternite."
This letter refers to the incident that took place earlier this year when Chinese Leader, Hu Jintao visited Paris The French government, under pressure from China, arrested Falun Gong practitioners distributing flyers on the streets, because the flyers exposed the brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China. French police also apprehended those practitioners who were just walking along the streets because they were wearing yellow scarves.
Mr. Davis demanded that the French government look into this incident and unconditionally apologize to Falun Gong practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) Liu Haibo was a doctor in the CT section of the Luyuan District Hospital in Changchun City, Jilin Province. He began practicing Falun Dafa in 1995 and was considered to be an honest and kindhearted man. He was well liked by his section leader and colleagues because of his diligence and hard work on the job. He never made a cent by taking advantage of the state; even when his family went to have CT scans, he still insisted on paying the full amount for the procedure. For this reason, many people laughed and thought him to be "foolish."
He had a feeling that he was given this life for the sake of Falun Dafa, so he tried to help other people learn about Dafa. Every holiday, when he visited his hometown village, he would take videos of Teacher's lectures and allow the people to watch it on his TV. He also bought Dafa books and tapes for them.
A few days before National Day in 1999, while Liu Haibo was working at the hospital, he was summoned to the Xijiaolu Police Station, in the Luyuan District of Changchun City, under the pretense of discussing something. Once he arrived, the police illegally detained him in the Guangda detention center for 15 days, as a means of preventing him from going to Beijing to appeal against the maltreatment of Dafa practitioners. During his detention, he was forced to sit on a wooden board for several hours each day, which was very painful.
In November of 1999, Liu Haibo and his pregnant wife decided to go to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa again. They arrived in Beijing the following day. He was having a chat with a fellow practitioner that afternoon on the street, when he was suddenly arrested by the local authorities and sent back to the city where he lived. The tight handcuffs used by the police seriously injured his hands. Later, Liu Haibo was released into the custody of the hospital director, Wang Jinghong. He was also denied his salary for that month. Thereafter, Secretary Liu Bo of the Luyuan District Health Bureau frequently talked with him and tightly monitored his actions. Hospital Director Wang Jinghong and Secretary Liu Guirong also tried to pressure him to renounce his belief in Falun Dafa. Finally, the health bureau and the hospital succeeded in forcing the doctor and his wife to write "guarantee statements" that they would not go to Bejing to appeal or practice Falun Dafa in public. Later on Dr. Liu regretted that he had been coerced into signing the statement, which was not in accordance with the requirements of Dafa practitioners. He declared to Liu Bo that his guarantee statement was null and void and did not represent his thoughts. This act greatly shocked them. Liu Bo along with the Xijiaolu police station immediately forced him into the Tiebei detention center in Changchun City. This occurred two days before New Year's Eve in 2000, when his wife was due to give birth. It was disclosed by inside sources, that Liu Bo said: "I only sent him to the detention center so he would be safe." Liu Haibo was sentenced to the Weizigou forced labor camp in Changchun City to serve a one year sentence without an trial or legal procedure. While visiting him in the forced labor camp, his family discovered that he had been injured and had wounds on his body. After Liu Haibo was released, he told his family that the Weizigou labor camp was hell on earth and the guards there were very vicious. Practitioners were beaten many times and forced to sit on a wooden board (1) for long periods of time while their legs were folded into a full lotus position. They also had to keep their backs totally upright without any movement no matter how much pain they experienced. The longest period they were forced to sit like this was for a period of about ten hours. Later on Liu Haibo was transferred to the Fenjin labor camp in Changchun City. The long-term effects of the physical, mental and spiritual torture were more than he could withstand. Semi-conscious, he was easy prey for their deception of offering "relief." Under coercion, he wrote the "guarantee statement." Because of the statement, the labor camp agreed to release him the following week. When his family went to pick him up, he was fully conscious and declared that his "guarantee statement" was null and void. He said to his family: "I was in tears day and night after writing that guarantee statement." His righteous thoughts came forward and he felt that nothing could shake his belief in Dafa. He would rather be in the jail the rest of his life than agree to the persecution and renounce his belief. Because of his stand, he was not allowed to leave the forced labor camp.
Around November of 2000, while he was working outside, he decided to escape from the camp. He still had many things to do and knew he should leave. However, his righteous thoughts were not strong enough to facilitate his escape. He was captured and sent back to the disciplinary unit for persecution. His term was also prolonged for an additional eight months without visitation priviledges. In May 2001, he was transferred to the Chaoyanggou forced labor camp in Changchun City. The director of the camp came to oversee the guards efforts to force practitioners to renounce their belief in Falun Dafa and he instructed the police to show the a propaganda video of the government's version of the staged "self-immolation incident in Tiananmen Square." At that moment a Dafa disciple's righteous thought caused him to bravely stand up shout: "Falun Dafa is good! The self-immolation incident is a fabrication!" Immediately, others stood up and shouted "Dafa is good". This act shocked the guards. The brutal guards were thrown into confusion at firs, and then they started shocking practitioners with several electric batons.
In August 2001, Liu Haibo was released from the labor camp. Because he refused to write "the guarantee statement" giving up his Falun Gong practice, the Luyuan District Health Bureau and the hospital terminated his employment. Fellow practitioners provided him with accommodations and again he positively joined the powerful current of Fa-rectification. He took in many homeless Dafa practitioners so they had a place to study the Falun Dafa teachings and share their cultivation experiences with each other every day. He constantly went to the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp along with fellow practitioners to set up loudspeakers, which broadcast the facts of persecution against Falun Dafa and helped the public learn the truth. He and other practitioners also released balloons carrying large banners which were seen by large numbers of policemen who were at a loss of what to do. During the Spring Festival of 2002, he went back to his hometown to clarify the truth. He clarified the truth to the villagers in various ways, including playing a Dafa CD while riding the bus to the village where he was from.
In March 2002, the Nanguan District Court in Changchun City was preparing to illegally bring Dafa practitioners to trial. On that day, Dafa practitioners one after another went to send forth righteous thoughts and posted truth-clarifying materials around town. The scene was very magnificent. The police department sent out large numbers of officers to arrest the Dafa practitioners. Liu Haibo was arrested on the spot, but he did everything to resist arrest and in the process he had his eyes blackened by the police' beating. With righteous thoughts and Teacher's help, he escaped from their malicious hands.
About 9:00 p.m. on March 11, 2002, Liu Haibo, his wife and three-year-old child, and another practitioner were forcibly taken away from his home by the police. They were taken to the criminal processing team at the Kuancheng District Police Station in Changchun City. His home was searched. The police forcibly obtained confessions from them by means of torture, and his wife was beaten until her mouth and eyes were swollen beyond recognition. She was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. After many days, she was transferred to the Shuangyang Detention Center. Later on, she was transferred to the brutal environment of the Hezuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City and illegally sentenced to three years of labor education. In the labor camp, she was forced to make various handicrafts and childrens toys. After being subjected to intensive brainwashing and torture, she renounced her belief in Dafa. At present she is still being detained there.
Liu Haibo was accused of providing a hiding place for Dafa practitioners who had broadcast the truth about the persecution on the national TV system. For this reason, The authorities brutally tortured Liu in order to obtain a confession. About 1:00 a.m. in the morning, he was tortured so severely that his heart stopped beating (It is not known what method of torture or measures were used by the police). He was sent to the emergency center at the Changchun City Hospital, but the staff officially claimed they could not revive him, even though the emergency center was well equipped with the proper equipment and trained personnel to successfully revive him. His family was not informed of his death. Liu Habo's father is over 70 year old and still doesn't know his son has been tortured to death. His 5 year old son is being raised by his grandmother.
People responsible for Liu Habo's death:
(1) Sitting Board - Each day, practitioners are required to put their hands on top of their laps, with backs straight (in this case they were required to sit with both legs double-crossed, which is extremely painful if done for extended periods of time) and sitting on benches up to 18 hours per day. This could be continued for over fifty days. The authorities even limit practitioners' restroom use. Because of the long time spent sitting on hard benches, practitioners' buttocks develop large sores that are very painful. Practitioners could not even urinate normally because of the pain. Because the labor camp was very humid, the police would not allow practitioners to have ventilation or a chance to get some sunlight. They were locked up for so long, countless red scabies grew on their entire body and were incomparably itchy and painful.
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner, Ms. Xin Jingwen, 68, from Yueyang City, Hunan Province, was abducted on April 28, 2004. As many as 10 police vehicles were involved in her arrest and subsequent abduction. On May 2, 2004, she was found tortured to death in theYunxi Detention Center in Yueyang City. Police cremated her body on May 6. The home phone number of Ms. Xin's family is 86-730-8470056.
Those mainly responsible for her death are state security police officers Sun Guanping and Li Wanyi. We will report the names of others who are responsible after this incident is investigated further.
(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner, Ms. Qi Yuna, was persecuted for her steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. The persecution caused her to suffer a mental breakdown and develop a serious heart condition. She stays at home now, hoping to recover.
Ms. Qi Yuna was born in 1963. She was an engineer in a food company in the Guzhi District, Tangshan City. Before that, she was the Vice Director of the Basic Construction Section. Her membership with the Party was revoked because she practices Falun Dafa. She also lost her job as a Vice Director.
In the morning of July 21, 1999, the Party Commissioner, Wang Shumei, had a talk with Qi Yuna. He told her to give up practicing and renounce her belief in Falun Dafa. but Qi refused. She went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Dafa that same afternoon. Qi was arrested at the long distance bus station and sent to her local police station. Later her workplace sent her supervisor to take her back. Qi's husband, Mr. Wang Jinxing, was also a Dafa practitioner. He was sent back to the local police when he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. They had son at home who was almost 8 years old. Upon returning home on the 24th, they found that their household items had been confiscated. Dafa books and materials were also all taken.
On September 13, 1999, Wang Jinxing was again illegally arrested at his work place and detained by the local police. On September 15, Qi Yuna petitioned to renounce her membership in the Party, as she was firm in continuing to practice in Falun Dafa.
On February 19, 2000, Wang was imprisoned for the third time without charge. Qi refused to sign the authorities "Note for the Family" and went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa that same night.
On the morning of the 20th, Qi met a Dafa practitioner from Dalian City on Beijing Tiananmen Square. The two of them practiced the exercises on the east side of Tiananmen Square. The police rushed over, beat them up, dragged them into the police car and sent them to a police station nearby. A few hours later the Tangshan police from their Beijing Liason Office sent her back to Tangshan that night.
She arrived after 8 p.m. at the police station. She had nothing to eat all day long. The police cuffed her onto an iron pole outside the minute she arrived, so she would freeze in the cold weather. The director of the first division of the police station, surname He, began to interrogate Qi a few hours later. Another director, Wang, kicked Qi with all his might on her left side. Qi almost fell because she was very small. She stood still. Wang slapped her with his right hand. She felt her face was on fire and was swollen. Qi did not say a word. They found a rope to tie her arms back and tried to pull her arms up from behind as high as possible in order to torture her. The authorities sat her on a chair and pulled her arms to the back of the seat. Wang did not want to be responsible for breaking Qi's arms, so he loosened the rope and sent her to the detention room.
Shang Jidong took a few people to Qi's house on the 21st to confiscate her property, but was unable to take anything as Qi's house had already been ransacked. Shang went back again later and discovered some Falun Dafa books and material hidden in the coal storage which he confiscated. The police were glad to have found something illegal. Song (first name unknown) used this as an excuse and take another group of people to Qi's house and stole her television and VCR, which were the last items of value left in her home.
Qi asked for that her Dafa books and materials be returned to her however, her request was denied. In protest, Qi went on a hunger strike on the morning of the 24th. That afternoon, during a meeting, more than 20 practitioners were illegally sentenced and sent to prison. Qi continued her hunger strike in the prison. She was forced to go to the Ankang Hospital when she was found to weigh only around 41 kg (92 lbs). She was tied to the hospital bed for many days, because she insisted on practicing Falun Dafa. Later the hospital sent her back to the prison and her illegal imprisonment continued. After fighting this persecution for such a long time, she was released without any charges on Aug 18, 2000. From then on, she was removed from the Party and lost her job.
Qi was very responsible at work. She received good reviews from her workplace, colleagues and supervisors and had attained a good reputation. Her supervisor gave her a week's salary, as he recognized her mental and physical suffering. Though her job title was taken, she still worked normal hours, doing the same work. She ordered 16,000 yuan (1) worth of equipment from one supplier. On September 14, she signed the contract with the supplier and they gave her 2,000 yuan payment for giving them the business contract. Qi immediately told them that she could not take the money because she was a Falun Dafa practitioner. The supplier insisted that she take the money and left it there. Qi sent a letter to the Party bursar's office together with the 2,000 yuan. The letter stated that as a Falun Gong practitioner, she would not accept kickbacks for doing her job properly. At that time, Qi and her husband had been imprisoned for more than 6 months and they did not have any income during that time.
On the 18th, around noon, Qi was arrested and taken to a labor camp. That morning, her supervisor tried hard to save her from being taken to the labor camp. However, under Jiang's persecution policies, people's and company's interests were of no importance. The police took Qi to the labor camp that afternoon. A local policeman was very moved by Qi's dignity and felt great sympathy toward her. The police told Qi to say that she had a heart condition at the physical checkup and then he would be able to take her home. Qi said that Dafa practitioners do not tell lies. In October, her husband, Wang Jinxing, was sentenced two years of forced labor for crimes he did not commit.
Before mid January in 2001, the labor camp began to treat Falun Gong practitioners cruelly. Qi was well known for continuing to practice the exercises daily with another practitioner. However, every time she began her exercise practice, someone would report her and she was punished. She had to either stand or be tied up for prolonged periods. The guards also made her either stand in the snow for half a day, or tied up for half a day. She thought to herself that she must be strong. She never stopped studying the Falun Dafa principles or practicing the Falun Dafa exercises in the Hebei First Labor Camp (a.k.a Kaiping Forced Labor Camp).
On February 21, Qi was taken to an office and tortured. A few days before that, Officer Wang Xueli threatened Qi that if she exercised again, he would use violence on her. But it did not scare her. Wang yelled at Qi and told her to kneel down in front of him. Qi did not. Wang kicked her and she fell. Wang and another person shocked her head with high-voltage electric batons simultaneously. The batons were used to shock her entire head. It was known that the rules said that officers could not shock the back of a person's head or close to the neck with electric batons. She could hear the sparks against her head. The electrical current went though her head again and again. Qi lost consciousness because of the electrical overload. Wang revived her. The other person stopped but Wang would not give up. He grabbed Qi's head again and Qi began to go into convulsions. She was as stiff as a rod. They had to put Qi on a bed but no matter how they tried to resuscitate her or attempt CPR on her, she would not wake up and she stopped breathing. The doctor on duty rushed over and put her on oxygen and sent her to a hospital for emergency rescue. She woke up later. When Wang was later talking about what happened after Qi became unconscious in the prison, a police woman, Yan Hongli, said, "That's OK. If she died today, I can be your witness and say that she died of heart attack."
After Qi woke up, her chest and rib cage hurt. It was probably because they used too much force when doing CPR. Her chest was swollen and bleeding because they pinched her very hard after she lost consciousness. The marks were the size of a nickel and were all over her chest. She survived but was traumatized mentally and physically. She could not stop talking in her sleep and was coughing up blood all day. Every day she filled bags of tissue papers soaked with blood. She shivered all day long and had a hard time walking. Her heart was severely injured. Qi never said anything but the people watching her kept on lying to the prison officials and saying she made complaints.
In the evening of April 24, the officers asked the practitioners to watch a movie defaming Falun Gong. None of the practitioners wanted to go. Officer Wang Xueli rushed into the room and said, "Qi Yuna will lead you to go to the movie." Qi was not moving and Wang became irritated with her. He went over to Qi and tried to drag her outside. Qi could not bear any physical abuse in her weakened condition. When she got outside, she trembled severely while stretched out on the floor. A captain still tried to make her go to the movie. However she could not walk at all and could not stop trembling. The captain had to give up and let her go back to her cell. When they put Qi on her bed, her chest started to contract and she could not breathe. The prison sent her to a hospital for emergency rescue. Since then, she often had difficulty breathing and needed oxygen to support her life. Her blood pressure went down to 50/70 mm Hg. The hospital diagnosed her with a heart condition. Qi's life was in danger, so the labor camp had to report to the higher authority and the information got to the Guzhi District Commission.
Given her outstanding performance at work, and as the food company needed her for technical and security work, Qi's supervisor tried to rescue her. On May 12, she was finally sent to an external hospital and held on probation. However, the "610 Office" (2) demanded to have its people watching her daily, in three shifts. She had become very fragile and was under tremendous mental pressure. Her husband was still in the labor camp and her son lived with her mother. Her parents were both aged over 70 and were living with her sister who was paralyzed. Her family was falling apart. Still the officials called her and told her that she had to return to the labor camp once her health condition got better.
Her central nervous system had already become injured from the electric shocks. Given the bad news and the tremendous pressure because of her family situation, she suffered a mental collapse. Her work place sent her to a psychiatric hospital and she stayed there for six months. She was suffering there and her family repeatedly asked if they could take her home. The "610 Office" would not allow it until her workplace was unable to pay the hospital bill. She was sent back to her workplace. The very next day, on January 15, 2002, the "610 Office" sent her to a brainwashing program. The "610 Office" knew that she was on the verge of death, but still would not allow her to leave. She was locked up in the brainwashing center for almost six months. During that time, the doctors checked her daily and kept on reporting to the higher authority that she had heart and was mentally disoriented. On June 4, 2002, the brainwashing center sent her back to her workplace saying that she had was mentally disoriented and she thus was being released.
Qi's hair had turned white by the time she left the psychiatric hospital. Because of the destructive drugs she was given, her body and face became unrecognizeable. Her eyes looked dull and she was having a hard time recognizing acquaintances. She was no longer capable and smart. She was in better health than when she had been admitted, but still weak. She had an average heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute. Her heartbeat was irregular and if she moved quickly, she could not catch her breath. Her hands trembled a lot. She would hide in a corner trembling and acted up when they stimulated her. She gradually lost her memory and her mental faculties became worse. She has not been able to take care of herself for almost two years now and her neighbors have not seen her leave the building.
Because of the pressure from the government, now even Qi's workplace had people assigned to watch her. Her workplace calls her family once in a while or sends someone with flowers or fruits to "visit her" which is an excuse to threaten her. Over these past years, Qi's workplace was in need of a professional with her knowledge. Her workplace requested that she come back to work many times as there are not many people with her knowledge of the frozen food industry. However Qi was unable to return to work because of her health condition which was caused by the authorities persecution of her for her belief in Falun Dafa.
For two years now, Qi never blamed or asked her work place for anything. She thinks all the misfortunes came from the Jiang's regime, not her workplace. She shouldered everything herself. Yet, police officer, Shang Zhidong, still shamefully comes to her house to harass her.
(1) yuan: Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 yuan.
(2) "610 Office": a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches.

Ms. Yu Huijuan, a Practitioner from Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province was Put into Solitary Confinement in Masanjia Labor Camp
After protesting her mistreatment by means of a hunger strike, Yu Huijuan was finally released in February after being held for over one month. She was reunited with her young daughter. However, two weeks later, on April 3rd, she was once again abducted by Longcheng Public Security Sub-bureau. The decision to arrest her was made by Huang Dianxiang and others. The next day the authorities sent her to the notorious Masanjia Labor Camp. At present, Yu Huijuan is on a hunger strike and is being tortured. She has been put into solitary confinement.
Ms. Jiang Wei, a Practitioner from Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, Became Extremely Weak as a Result of Torture
Jiang Wei was sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp at the same time as Yu Huijuan (above). She was severely tortured and became extremely weak. The labor camp later sent her back to Chaoyang City, but her local police still refused to release her. She is now detained at the Shijiahetao Detention Center. Police are trying to keep her situation secret. At present, Jiang Wei and her daughter are detained in the same cell.
Jiang Wei once had a happy family. However, the persecution shattered the four-member-family. She was first detained at Masanjia Labor Camp for nearly two and a half years until she became suffered a mental collapse as a result of torture. Upon her release, she could not return to her home in order to avoid persecution and arrest. With help from fellow practitioners, she finally recovered. After being separated from her mother for several years, her older daughter Xiaoxiao was afraid to leave her. At present, both mother and daughter are detained. These are pictures of their home after it was ransacked.

(Clearwisdom.net) The "610 Office" in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province along with local police stations abducted several Dafa practitioners at the beginning of April. In addition, they established a "Special Task Force" at police stations in all districts. The "610 Office" is planning to escalate their persecution of local Dafa practitioners, truth- clarification material sites, and practitioners who have been forced into homelessness by the persecution.
According to reliable sources, Dafa practitioners Li Liang, Chiao Zhongjing, and Mr. Liu were abducted on April 3, 2004 and are now being detained at the Wujiaku Detention Center. These practitioners have protested with hunger strikes for over 10 days. As of now, the detention center has continued to incarcerate them illegally.

I am a female Dafa practitioner from Henan Province. I went to Tiananmen Square at the end of the year 2000 to validate Dafa, and I still can't forget what I witnessed and heard there at that time. I would now like to expose it and use these facts to describe how Jiang's evil political gang of scoundrels and the policemen that Jiang's political group manipulates, use brutal and vicious means to persecute Dafa practitioners.
On December 29, 2000 I went to Beijing with two other Dafa practitioners to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. Right after we entered Tiananmen Square, several policemen in plainclothes started questioning us, "Do you have your ID with you?" I said, "No, we camr here to visit." "Get into the car if you don't have your ID!" they shouted, and at the same time they attempted to forcibly drag us into a police car. We refused to cooperate with them and resisted going to the car, so they beat our heads with police batons. As a result, I felt very dizzy and my mouth had blisters from the beating. Eventually they dragged us into the police car. In the car, we took out the Falun emblem banner that we had made and displayed it to the people on the square through the window. The policemen grabbed the Falun emblem. Because there were many Dafa disciples going to Beijing to validate Dafa, including people from Sichuan, Shandong, the Northeast, etc., after a while the police station was full of Dafa disciples. We were sent to the Tiananmen Detention Center. Policemen asked our names and addresses one by one. Those who refused to tell their name and address were sent to the back of the detention center and then dispatched to different detention centers in Beijing.
I was transported with other Dafa practitioners to the Chaoyang District Detention Center in Beijing. On our way, I took out a banner from my sleeve which read "Falun Dafa is Good," and displayed it in the window along with another practitioner. Policemen pulled us back a few times, and then the banner was taken away. What could we do without a banner? Another practitioner told me, "You sit beside the window and shout Falun Dafa is good whenever you see someone outside and then all of us will shout together with you!" Then we started to shout, "Falun Dafa is good!" "Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance) is good!" "Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa!" "Restore our Teacher's reputation!" We kept shouting until we came to the door of the Chaoyang District Detention Center.
When we arrived at the Chaoyang District Detention Center, the policemen asked us to squat down. One practitioner moved a little bit slowly and she was kicked in her lower back by the guard, causing her to almost fall down. We then received physical examinations. All the healthy people were taken to the backyard to have their pictures taken by force. Finally, the policemen ordered the regular criminals made up of drug addicts and prostitutes to take us to a big room where we were stripped naked. All of our money, personal belongings, and Dafa articles were confiscated. In the process, some practitioners were beaten and kicked, and I was slapped twice across the face. After are belongings were confiscated, we were sent to various cells completely naked.
In the evening, the police started interrogating us, and they also questioned me. At that time, my righteous thoughts were quite strong, and I firmly refused to cooperate with the evil. After finishing the interrogation, I was sent back to the cell.
One practitioner who was interrogated during the daytime on the second day was a girl about 20 years old, but because practitioners didn't divulge their names, addresses or ages, we didn't know where this girl was from. This practitioner's clothes were neat, and she looked calm and beautiful before the interrogation. But after she came back from interrogation, her clothes were messed up and her hair was disheveled. She seemed to have changed into another person, and she was seriously hurt physically and mentally. I asked another practitioner what had happened to the girl, and she said, "The police took off all of her clothes and forced her to sit in the snow for 2-3 hours. The most evil thing was that the policemen ordered drug-addicts and prostitutes to burn her private parts with lit cigarettes..." This practitioner was overcome with grief and could not continue to describe the torture that happened to the young girl.
How can it be wrong for a simple and pure girl to live by the principle of "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" and try to be a good person? And the so-called "people's police" order criminals to torture her using such obscene means. After I heard this, my brain was totally blank, tears kept falling, and this incident became an unforgettable memory for me. This is genuine evidence Jiang's declaration of, "The period of the best human rights situation" hypocrisy that "Jiang's gang of scoundrels" attempts to promote to the world.
Several practitioners and I went on a hunger strike for three days to protest the mistreatment and were sent to a very big room where the door was open to the outside. The room was extremely cold, and there were six wooden crosses lying there. The policemen ordered female criminals to remove our coats and pull up our sleeves. Then the policemen, together with the drug-addicts and prostitutes, used adhesive tape to firmly fix our arms onto the "crosses" one by one. They then used ropes to tightly tie our legs onto the bottoms of the "crosses," and then force-fed us using rubber tubes. One evil policeman also stomped on my hands. We were tortured from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and my two hands still have bruises from that abuse. Another female practitioner's trousers were taken off and she was freezing cold and shaking. One policeman nonetheless walked around her and said obscene words. Still another female practitioner refused to cooperate with them, and they beat her with police batons 40 times on her buttocks. Her buttocks became black and blue and she could not lie down or sit. She asked for help, but the policemen completely ignored her. The food that they gave to Dafa practitioners was yellow steamed bread and vegetable soup that the drug-addicts and prostitutes refused to eat. These are facts of the persecution that took place in Mainland China, and the events exposed here represent only a small percentage of the actual events occurring in China today.
[Author's note] Because I have not cultivated diligently enough, I always waited for other practitioners to expose these persecution facts and announce them to the world, but I have not seen such a report. Therefore I have taken it upon myself to write these experiences today.
(Clearwisdom.net) There have been many cases of deaths and serious injuries of prisoners at the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. The Baimiao Forced Labor Camp is one of the locations where the treatment of Falun Gong practitioners is particularly savage.
The Baimiao Forced Labor Camp established three divisions for producing goods in 2003, and so the slave labor commenced. Other than the group normally finishing the electrical controllers, the prisoners have to perform ten hours of labor a day. Sometimes the overtime extends the workday to more than twenty hours of continuous labor per day. The production jobs mainly involve handwork like folding pages and stapling them into books, peeling garlic, cutting paper, folding paper bags, and packaging monosodium glutamate (a flavor enhancer, also known as MSG).
The Forced Labor Camp consists of the Director, Deputy director, Secretary, and Political Committee, supported by the Administration Section, Education Section, the "610 Office" (1), Disciplinary Section, Production Section, and the Marketing Section. The minds of the guards in the Camp have been dangerously poisoned. The vicious treatment of the detainees at the Camp by the main supervising officers was looked upon as normal management. The savage beating and torture of Falun Gong practitioners were part of the regular duties of the guards.
Around February 2003, there were two extremely vicious cases of serious maltreatment that led to deaths. The leader and members of the First Brigade seriously injured Li Chao, a seventeen year-old youth from Zhongmou County. The reason for the guards assault upon him was that the youth did not have the physical strength to withstand the excessive demands of the slave labor. Li Chao continuously had a high fever. To conceal the real situation, and to avoid the hospital staff discovering the wounds from the vicious beatings, the head guard would not allow the youth to see a doctor. The condition of this young person deteriorated and he died in prison.
After this happened, the higher officials at the Camp tried to evade their responsibility in this matter by claiming that the young man died only after normal procedures were used to try to save him.
Shortly after this happened, the main leader of the work group of that section, following orders from the police, seriously wounded some of the other regular criminal inmates forced to work in the camp. The regular inmates retaliated and wounded the work group leader by splashing concentrated sulfuric acid on his face and breaking his fingers in a physical fight.
Because the senior officers in the "610 Office" assigned a "transformation quota" to the Camp staff, and even rewarded the section leaders and other oppressive officials bonuses as performance incentives, the leaders were allowed and even encouraged to continue their vicious treatment of Dafa practitioners detained in the labor camp. The senior officers never bothered to investigate the details of the vicious treatment.
The forced labor camp started a persecution campaign using cruel and savage means against Falun Gong practitioners in 2001, in order to force them to renounce their belief in Falun Dafa. Song Xu was the first to be tortured at that time. He was tied to a bed with each of his four limbs stretched in opposite directions, and then the bed was turned upside down. He was left stretched and painfully hanging in that position for as long as six hours. He was also force-fed and had some of his teeth were broken in the process. He was sexually abused by having a rod forcibly inserted into his rectum. He was also wrapped in a blanket, tied up with ropes and left in this position for a long time, while being deprived of the right to use the toliet. His body was greatly devastated by this.
Because Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Quan Peijun from the Shangjie Region defended his right to practice Falun Gong, he was arrested and hung up by ropes eight times. Both his arms and shoulders were severely injured. The authorities shocked him with an extra high voltage electrical baton, all over his body repeatedly for several hours at a time. The resulting sores on his chest became infected and he was covered in festering wounds from the burns created by the electrical shock.
In the middle of November 2002, Baimiao was ordered by senior level officers to torture Falun Gong practitioners with electric batons, beatings, and to prop their heads on sharp triangular iron pieces to prevent them from sleeping. Some of the practitioners had portions of their scalps ripped out during the torture.
Falun Gong practitioner Han Guoquan was forced to wear a helmet, had his shoes and socks removed, his legs tied together, and was shocked all over his body with a high voltage electric baton.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Yuanheng was subjected to electric shock with ten electric batons applied simultaneously for several hours.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Ming had his sentence extended for a year on two occasions for no reason.
The Baimiao Forced Labor Camp staff continuously extended the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners they held in detention.
The guards at the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp all knew that Falun Gong practitioners were good people, as it was well known that those who practice Falun Gong are exemplary people of high moral character. In order to avoid having to individually bear the consequences of the persecution in the future, they decided to torture practitioners collectively so that if anyone was held responsible for the wrong doings, everyone would have to bear an equal share. On the afternoon of April 23, 2003, a senior officer at Baimiao Forced Labor Camp directed the guards to conduct a criticism meeting regarding Falun Gong practitioners. On the afternoon of April 24, the original team leader of the Fifth Brigade with the other officers commenced torturing Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Quan Peijun and Zhang Yuanheng with extra high voltage electric batons, at the same time viciously beating them. Mr. Zhang Yuanheng shouted loudly "Falun Dafa is good!" as he was being tortured. His voice and the sizzling sound of the shocks from the electric batons could be heard all over the camp.
One night, on April 24, the original members of the Third Brigade consisting of ten police officers under the supervision of Li Xichuan, the ringleader of the "610 Office", commenced a new round of cruel and savage treatment of Falun Gong practitioners. The leader of the Main Brigade, Zuo Zhiguo, referred to this barbaric action as "Spring Thunder." The guards Ma Donghui, Ren Wanqiang, Liu Wei, Yang Weidong, and He Xianglong brutally attacked the practitioners. In an attack, the shins of Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Shucan were ripped open. He was subjected to electric shocks with six electric batons simultaneously. Both of his lower limbs were swollen and had severe bleeding under the skin. His legs went limp as all the muscles were seriously injured.
The police officers were even more ruthless in dealing with Dafa practitioner Xu Xieqia. When he first arrived at the camp, he was force-fed with a concentrated salt solution until his stomach bled. Thereafter he was deprived of sleep for a long time. Then, police officers Yang Weidong, Ren Wanqiang, Ma Donghui, and He Xianglong, under the supervision of Zuo Zhiguo, used four electric batons simultaneously to shock Xu Xieqia. After the electric shock, the criminal inmates Zhao Guosheng, Feng Jun and two others were ordered to severely beat him. They used thick electric cables to whip him till there were bruises all over his body. The criminal inmates used a blanket to cover his head so that he could not shout. He was beaten until he became incontinent. The original assistant leader of the Third Brigade, Liu Wei directly ordered the criminal inmates to commit acts of violence against Falun Dafa practitioners and in the future and he will not be able to avoid punishment for his crimes.
In the middle of the night, the Intermediate Brigade staff also began electrically shocking Zhang Zikun. Zhang suffered his scalp splitting open and a bone in his neck becoming fractured when he rammed his head against a wall due to the torture. After Zhang Zikun injured himself against the wall, the leader not only did not stop the torture, he shouted angrily: "That is nothing!"
The Forced Labor Camp directed criminal inmates to viciously attack Falun Gong practitioners. On August 28, 2003, practitioner Xu Xieqia and others were forced to watch a propaganda video entitled "Innocent Life", which was created to fabricate lies and incite hatred against Falun Dafa. After viewing the film the practitioners were forced to write down their impressions of the video, which was actually an exercise to force them to write that they agreed with the current political position against Falun Dafa. Xu Xieqia and Li Lemin refused to comply. As a result, criminal inmates Liu Jie, Lei Ming, Li Zongguo, Zhang Qian and two others pushed the practitioners down and took turns using a wooden club to beat them. Xu Xieqia was bleeding profusely all over from the beatings and could not walk normally. After guard Liu Wei learned about the beatings, not only did he not stop them he reminded Liu Jie to continue the assaults, but to be careful not to leave any visible injuries. All injuries should be internal ones. Therefore, on the next day, criminal inmate Lei Ming, covered the chest of Zhao Shucan with a pillow and rained blows on him. The "thud, thud" sound of the beating could be heard throughout the entire Brigade area. When the Judiciary Department conducted an investigation into the beatings and injuries, practitioner Xu Xieqia exposed the facts of the incident in his answers in a questionnaire, the police officers used the criminal inmates to retaliate and take revenge. Four criminal inmates were assigned to supervise each Falun Gong practitioner twenty-four hours a day.
The original instructor of the Third Brigade, He Xianglong, publicly declared that the criminal inmates supervising Falun Gong practitioners were allowed to beat them at will. Police officer He Xianglong even said: "Although these drug addicts and pick-pockets are bad, they can be used to viciously beat up and torture Falun Gong practitioners who are good people!"
The assistant instructor and guard, Liu Wei, was one of the main perpetrators in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the Third Main Brigade. He publicly declared: "Falun Gong practitioners are good people, but even good steel needs to be bent as needed!" Liu Wei declared to the criminal inmates that he oversaw: "You must be brave in your supervision," meaning "You may beat them at will, do not worry!"
The assistant instructor of the Fifth Brigade, Song Yanling, did not even spare Mr. Li Dianjun, who was nearly 60 years old and who was very weak after being on a hunger strike for 20 days. Mr. Li was so badly beaten that he was bleeding profusely from the nose and mouth.
In addition to the physical punishment, Dafa practitioners were forced to work for more than twenty hours continuously doing hard labor beyond their physical limit.
The police spared no effort to conceal their crimes, even to the extent of colluding with senior officers of the "610 Office" to hide the practices of vicious beatings and torture of the Dafa practitioners, and completely blocking all news from reaching the outside world or to the relatives of the victims. When the senior officials went to inspect the camp, the guards would force Falun Gong practitioners to say that they were not beaten, that they were speaking of their own accord, and that they had never been ill-treated. But when the senior officials left, they would immediately commence their vicious attacks on the Dafa practitioners. The original Third Brigade Assistant Instructor, Liu Wei told Mr. Xu Xieqia publicly: "You go and report! Tell them we have beaten you so that you will renounce your belief!"
The guards at the forced labor camp not only tortured Falun Gong practitioners, they also persecuted the family members of the practitioners by threatening them. The parents of Han Guoquan in the Fifth Brigade was so frightened by their threats that they kneeled in front of the guards, begging them not to harm their son.
There were other Dafa practitioners at the Forced Labor Camp that were persecuted: Quan Peijun (Staff member of the Changchen Aluminum Industry Company, Shangjie Region), Xu Xiaoguo (Resident of Guanxiang, Yingyang City), Fu Zhenyong (Elderly person, Retired staff member of the Coal Mining Machinery Factory, Zhengzhou City), Hou Jinyou (Farmer from Sima Village, Gaocun town, Yingyang City), Zhu Yunlong (Staff member of the Electric Cables Factory, Zhengzhou City), Hua Feng (Resident of Jinshui Region, Zhengzhou City), and Zhao Shucan (Staff member of the Department of Goods and Materials, Xinzheng City, residing at Hougaozhuang Village, Xindian Town)
What is reported here is only a small portion of the atrocities committed at the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp. The persecution occurring there is beyond the imagination of ordinary people. Even senior officials in the same department feel that the "work methods" of the officers at the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp are too harsh. Those senior officials at the Public Security Department who know what the camp guards are doing feel that they are taking great risks with their own futures.
The guards at the forced labor camp do know that their criminal actions will bring heavy retribution. Every time they receive a phone call from overseas practitioners, they shudder. Whenever they receive mail from practitioners outside of China, they become very irritated and upset. On the one hand they want to earn bonuses for getting practitioners to renounce their belief. This pursuit of money allowed them to take harsh unconscionable actions against Falun Gong practitioners. On the other hand, the guards were also terrified of being shunned by society for their shameless and cruel actions.
We appeal to all righteous people to continue to phone and write letters exposing the wanton actions of the police officers at the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp and rescue the Dafa practitioners that are being persecuted there.
(1) "610 Office": a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches.
(Clearwisdom.net) The Shanghai "Law Education School" was formerly a sanatorium for police officers from the Shanghai Judicial Bureau. It is located at 7936 Waiqingsong Road, below She Mountain in the Qingpu District. The sanatorium underwent a change just prior to the 2001 Spring Festival, under orders from the Shanghai "610 Office" (1), the Judicial Bureau and the Political and Judiciary Committee. The sanatorium was converted into a place used specifically for the detention and brainwashing of Falun Gong practitioners. Publicly, its name was changed to the "Shanghai Law Education School." Hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners who refuse to give up their belief have been sent there to be brainwashed in complete isolation. They range in age from seventeen-year-old students to retired seniors.
Typically, each brainwashing session in this "Law Education School" lasts two to three months. Falun Gong practitioners who do not give up their belief are detained indefinitely or sent to labor camps. Almost every session has had some practitioners sent directly to labor camps. There are usually 30-50 practitioners per class. A "military-style" management is enforced at the facility. After being sent here against their will, each Falun Gong practitioner is subjected to a body search and his or her personal belongings are inspected. Female practitioners are usually detained on the 2nd floor while male practitioners are held on the 3rd floor. Generally, there are two to three persons in a room.
"Assistant Educators" and "Companion Educators"
Each practitioner is assigned one "assistant educator" and one "companion educator." Usually, "assistant educators" are dispatched from other judicial offices such as forced labor camps, prisons, and so on. Most of these people come from low-level offices and don't understand the true situation of the persecution against Falun Gong, and they believe the negative propaganda and defamatory reports against Dafa. Often, however, some will secretly go to Falun Gong practitioners to learn the facts about Falun Gong. Corrupt officials may have realized that prolonged contact between these "assistant educators" and Falun Gong practitioners would expose the "assistant educators" to the truth of the persecution against Falun Gong, so groups of assistant educators are regularly replaced.
At the first few classes of the brainwashing program, the assignment of a "companion educator" to a particular practitioner was based on the kind of work that the illegally detained practitioner did, and could be dictated by that person's employer, residential administration office or school. An employer was required to send two "companion educators," who alternated with each other every week. The "companion educator" was required to stay closes by a Falun Dafa practitioner's side twenty-four hours a day. In many ways, these people also lose their freedom, and most have negative attitudes about the brainwashing sessions which are called "learning classes" and do not support the persecution. They think, "Nowadays corrupt officials prevail in society and they gang up to pursue personal gain. Our society is not safe now. Our government is not concerned with these serious issues that they are supposed to take care of. Instead, they are targeting law-abiding citizens. As a result, we have to put aside our normal jobs and lives and come here to brainwash someone." In order to lessen the negative effect on society caused by this disgruntled attitude, the authorities started to directly assign dedicated "companion educators" in the later stage of the brainwashing program.
An Enormous Financial Burden
Each of the so-called "Law Education School classes" costs a large amount of money. The money comes from two sources; some of it is directly paid out of the local and central government revenue, which is funded by the publics tax revenues, and some comes from the employers of the practitioners. The employers are forced to pay the money. At the beginning, when the employers were still assigning "companion educators," the living cost of a practitioner plus two "companion educators" was close to ten thousand yuan (2). If we also take into account the abnormal three-month leave of absence of three employees, the employer's loss was usually in the range of tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of yuan. When Falun Gong practitioners were private business owners, factory directors of government-run businesses or important players in critical projects, forcing them to attend a brainwashing program caused an entire company's production to be reduced by half, to stop completely or to shut down, which led to immeasurable revenue loss. However, since these assignments are ordered by high ranking officials, most employers dared not complain.
An Incalculable Burden on Society
The damage caused by brainwashing programs goes far beyond economic loss. Forced brainwashing programs have caused all sorts of problems in society. First, the psychological damage and pain a person suffers in a closed and isolated brainwashing program is beyond description. Each of these practitioners has relatives or friends, who also suffer greatly from stress and worry. Brainwashing a person disrupts normal family relations and the effects can be felt in society as well. Nobody is an isolated individual in society. Everyone has many social ties. When residents of the practitioner's community, his colleagues or friends witness his unjustified arrest, it will raise emotional turmoil or even fear and have a negative impact on society's stability. Finally, some Falun Gong practitioners assume very important roles in society. Persecuting them will incur immeasurable losses on society's normal production and development.
This is my view regarding the damage to society caused by brainwashing programs. The persecution against Falun Gong practitioners initiated by a few individuals in the Chinese government has brought indescribable pain and disaster to China's society and Chinese people. According to an incomplete estimate, 950 people are documented to have been killed by the persecution; three to four hundred thousand people have been serving illegal sentences including forced labor terms; several thousands have been physically disabled due to the persecution; several thousand have been forced to enter mental hospitals against their will and injected and abused with drugs that damage the central nervous system; and countless people have been subjected to brutal forced brainwashing. In order to maintain the persecution, Jiang Zemin has resorted to spending huge amounts of money (one quarter of the country's GDP), to persecute innocent people, rather than spending it on the economic-reform issues dealing with farmers and unemployed workers that desperately need to be resolved. According to another incomplete estimate, in the first three years of the persecution, under the order of Jiang and the "610 Office," the campaign to attack Falun Gong alone included several billion yuan for campaign activities, several hundred thousand hours of TV and radio programming, several billion hours of workers' time, tens of thousands of anti-Falun Gong articles and reports and several million anti-Falun Gong comic books. Now in China there are people who are being expelled from their workplaces or schools every day because of their belief. The authorities even forced some of them to undergo brainwashing, to serve a forced labor term or an illegal prison sentence. Every day there are people who are forced to leave their loved ones and live away from home in order to escape the persecution.
People should become aware that this unprecedented brutal persecution not only victimizes Falun Gong practitioners, it also causes damage to the entire Chinese population. This persecution targets good and innocent people throughout the world and is also the biggest and most open challenge to people who believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and who hold faith that justice will ultimately prevail. I hope that these facts will move people out of any silent indifference, and dispel any thinking that this persecution is none of their business. I hope that those who read this article will stand up with courage and say "No!" to this persecution. Everyone's voice of justice should be heard, especially those from the Chinese people in Mainland China. I hope people will become more aware of these injustices happening around them, and help those who are suffering.
A Travesty of "Education"
Although the Shanghai Law Education School is officially labeled "law education," all the methods used there are unconstitutional and not supported by any law. Below is a summary of the specific conditions in the school, all of which expose the "illegality" of the "Law Education School" First, I should clarify one thing: the Shanghai Law Education School is politically defined as a "school." As a school, it should not be similar to a state-run institution that resorts to the use of violence, like a police station or a prison which both possess the power to use forceful and violent measures. Although it was founded by the Ministry of Justice, its legal definition should remain the same. A school is a place to acquire knowledge, to educate people; it should hold a great responsibility and obligation to students (who attend the school on their own accord) to teach them scientific and cultural knowledge, and is enabled to do so by collecting proper fees from students. A Law Education School, then, should, by its nature, be a place to teach law curriculum.
Let's look at how the Shanghai "Law Education School" proceeds to offer "law education" and how the legal system and human rights are manifested in the "Law Education School" located in China's biggest financial trade center, Shanghai.
1. First, let's see how this school obtains students. The Shanghai Law Education School usually gets Falun Gong practitioners by means of deception, intimidation or even abduction, completely bypassing all legal methods of approval and administrative action from any monitoring institution. Practitioners are deceived with a request of wanting to "talk to you" and tricked into going to places where policemen are waiting to send them to the Law Education School by force. Practitioners face intimidation by employers or their schools with threats to be fired, lose their retirement pension or serve forced labor terms, thus forcing them to cooperate. Abduction is even more horrifying. The police may arbitrarily arrest a Falun Gong practitioner while the practitioner is clarifying the truth on the street, and he/she is then directly taken to the "Law Education School" without the notification of the practitioner's family members.
2. Once a Falun Gong practitioner is taken to the school, he or she immediately loses all personal freedom. Practitioners are under surveillance at every moment and even the doors to the restrooms are removed. The practitioners' living space is limited to a tiny room approximately 36 square feet, completely depriving them of the right to freedom and privacy endowed by the Constitution of the People's Republic of China. The "school" has also established strict regulations and schedules which Falun Gong practitioners are forced to follow. Falun Gong practitioners who refuse to cooperate face physical punishment. Those who insist on practicing the exercises are handcuffed with a special device with which their hands are shackled to their waist, preventing them from practicing the exercises.
3. The Shanghai "Law Education School" does not offer any curriculum in law. It is a facility solely for brainwashing people in a closed and isolated environment, a technique used very often by the ruling Party to deceive and mislead people. The "Law Education School's" name hides its actual purpose; however, propaganda is spread telling how the government is treating people who are undergoing brainwashing with "life-giving spring breezes and rain," as if these actions were noble. In truth, however, what takes place within this facility is the most degenerate and shameful.
Consider the following specific brainwashing methods.
Once a Falun Gong practitioner arrives at the school, he or she will be confined in a room where they must eat, drink and use the toilet, with the "assistant educators" and "companion educators" watching them twenty-four hours a day. In the room, there are three beds, one TV and one writing desk. The TV is used only to play videos that slander and defame Falun Gong. The desk is for Falun Gong practitioners to write their understanding (ie: state their agreement with the government policy against FalunGong) of these programs and to read articles that attack Falun Gong on a daily basis. Being completely isolated from the outside world causes tremendous mental stress. Every morning and afternoon the school plays videotapes, radio broadcasts and reports attacking Falun Dafa, and forces the practitioners to watch or listen to them. Practitioners are forced to tell their personal understanding during the daily experience sharing, in order to help the administrators gain insights into practitioners' thought activity and the effects of brainwashing, so they can design materials for the next step. Lies are repeated thousands of times and practitioners are intimidated in this completely closed and isolated environment, causing extreme stress and confusion. All day long practitioners live their lives under this relentless scrutiny and intimidation.
It is a well-known fact that the right to liberty and belief is an inalienable, God-given right that cannot be taken away by anyone or any organization. China's "Law Education School" blatantly tramples this universal law. Many people released from the school said that this kind of mental suffering was worst than physical torture. They said that in such an environment a person had no integrity or respect as a human being and they were forced to make a painful choice between physical freedom and their belief.
4. Many Falun Dafa practitioners were detained in the "school" for no stated, legal reason at all. Others were given what can barely be categorized as "reasons," which were instead ridiculous and absurd excuses. When sensitive days like National Day, Chinese New Year Day, July 20 or April 25 (3) were approaching, many practitioners were mass arrested and detained in order to prevent them from potentially going to Beijing to appeal, which would implicate local government officials (4).
In protest of this unreasonable persecution, some Falun Dafa practitioners conducted hunger strikes to protect their rights. Sometimes the hunger strikes would last up to a month, but the school still ignored their requests for justice and brutally force-fed practitioners in order to continue with their brainwashing. Some steadfast practitioners have been sent to brainwashing sessions many times.
How many of these "schools" and "learning classes" exist in China, and how many citizens are adversely affected? Although the number of people and family members affected is well beyond the hundreds of thousands, we must remember that throughout history, no ideology has ever emerged from force and no spirit has ever been destroyed by the use of violence.

(1) The "610 Office" is a personal command system and enforcement agency for Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong. The "610 Office" exists throughout the entire country, from the Central Government to cities, towns and villages, organizations and schools. Its establishment, structural organization, bureaucratic relationship, operation, and finance all are entirely outside the boundaries of the existing structure of the government in China. It assumes political power surpassing the constitution and the law, and uses national resources at will.
(2) Yuan -- Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.
(3) July 20, 1999 is the date that the persecution against Falun Gong officially began; April 25, 1999, is the date on which ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing to peacefully appeal to the government in response to negative propaganda and violation of practitioners' rights.
(4) Jiang's political group has a policy of implication. Wherever there are Falun Gong practitioners going to Beijing to appeal, that area's local government officials will be criticized, penalized or even terminated from their posts should practitioners from their jurisdiction be discovered in Beijing.
(Clearwisdom.net) Every time I think back on how I began practicing Falun Dafa ten years ago, I feel blessed and get a warm feeling in my heart. I also weep tears of joy.
At eight o'clock on March 2, 1994 it was the first time that I had the honor to listen to Teacher's two hour lecture in a military hall in Shijiazhuang City. During the lecture, Teacher asked us to think about where in our body we felt sick. If we were fine, he asked us to think of the illnesses of our family members or relatives. Teacher would cure it if we just thought of it. My headache that had been bothering me for dozens of years was cured right there.
The lecture was completely free and voluntary. We did not pay a cent.
In the following eight days, I truly felt that Teacher was friendly and easy-going during the lectures. He taught the Fa principles clearly, and was very focused when teaching the exercises. When he taught the exercises, it did not matter where you were, even for the students who stood right next to the wall, Teacher would walk around the room everyday to check on us and correct our movements himself.
On the evening of March 10, 1994, the first session of the Shijiazhuang lectures ended. We asked Teacher to take a picture with us. The local qigong association suggested that we have a professional photographer take the picture. Teacher immediately asked if our practitioners had someone who was professional-like and knew how to take a picture, who could volunteer to take one to save everyone the money.
We were all deeply moved. Teacher always thought of others first. The lecture was originally scheduled to last ten days. Considering those who were not financially well off, Teacher finished the lectures in eight days to save everyone time and expenses. Each student paid 35 Yuan to the local qigong association for this eight-day lecture. There was almost nothing left for Teacher and the working staff after subtracting the expenses and fees for holding the lecture. My understanding was that Teacher intended to introduce Falun Dafa to predestined people and leave the beauty of Dafa to the kind people in the world. He never thought of his personal gains, everything he did was for other people's best interests.
We took the picture at eight o'clock on the morning of March 11. It has kept the eternal and precious memory of Teacher.
All things that seemed plain and trivial were filled with Teacher's compassion and reflected his magnificence. Words cannot express how blessed I am to be Teacher's student.
(Clearwisdom.net) Today is the 25th of April and once again Chen Gang comes to the Chinese Embassy in Munich. He has been here countless times already with fellow practitioners to peacefully appeal against the Jiang group's persecution of Falun Gong in China. However, on this occasion he is here as an asylum seeker in Germany. Chen Gang came from Beijing to Munich for further studies in 1996, but he never expected that from May 2002 onward, he would no longer be able to have a passport as a Chinese citizen. The Chinese Embassy refused to renew his passport because he practiced Falun Gong. After that, he was stripped of all his rights as a Chinese national unless he stopped practicing Falun Gong.
Chen Gang began practicing Falun Gong in 1994. The reporter learned that Mr. Gang had the good fortune to participate in the "4.25" peaceful appeal in Beijing. At that time, he was visiting relatives in Beijing. On that day, he went with his mother, who had been practicing Falun Gong since 1996. They agreed to meet at the Central Appeals Bureau near Zhongnanhai at 9 a.m. He and his mother were surprised to see that many Falun Gong practitioners had already gathered there. Everyone stood quietly outside Zhongnanhai in an orderly manner. All the practitioners had only one wish: to call for the release of fellow practitioners detained in Tianjin. That evening, everyone left quietly after learning that the Tianjin practitioners would be released. Premier Zhu had reached an amicable agreement with the representatives. Chen Gang further added, "If the appeal activity was well organized just like the officials claimed, then more people would have gone. From our practice site, only a small number went; if everyone had planned properly, then many more would have gone. In actual fact, before we got there, we had no idea where to go. Some wanted to go to Tianjin to appeal, some wanted to go the Appeals Bureau. There were many different ideas and everyone made his own decision."
However, after "4.25" the situation became tense. The practice site Chen Gang usually went to was no longer allowed to be used for practice. The manager of the mall had received orders from above. Many work units started to investigate those who had participated in the Zhongnanhai appeal. After he returned to Germany, Mr. Gang wrote a letter to the then party chairman, Jiang Zemin, telling him that Falun Gong benefits everyone and that the country should give full support to Falun Gong. He asked Jiang not to persecute Falun Gong. Mr. Gang sent this letter to Beijing and had it published on Clearwisdom.net. Together with fellow practitioners he also went to see the secretary of the Chinese Embassy, Li Nianping, and a Mr. Dong who was in charge of the education department in the Chinese Embassy in Munich. These people all claimed that the Chinese government would not persecute Falun Gong and urged them not to believe in rumors. However, not long after, Falun Gong was suppressed in China. "I was very upset. I did not expect Jiang to be so despicable. The persecution is based on fabricated lies. No one in his right mind would make such a decision." Chen Gang continued, "When news of Falun gong practitioners tortured to death kept coming from China, we started coming to the Chinese Embassy to peacefully protest. We once again met with Li Nianping and other persons in charge. They gave us fabricated information defaming Falun Gong from China and emphasized the government's attitude, entirely forgetting what they had said before." Li Nianping further published a lengthy article defaming Falun Gong in a local German newspaper under the name of "media spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Berlin." About thirty Falun Gong practitioners tried to sue him for slander and libel in the German courts. However because he was a foreign diplomat, Li Nianping claimed immunity from the lawsuit. Chen Gang sighed, "This is how a totalitarian country manipulates and oppresses the entire nation's departmental apparatus. In order to obtain whatever it wants, it can adopt all kinds of despicable ways."
The persecution in China is escalating and the number of deaths is increasing. Chen Gang's mother and many practitioners continued to risk their lives going out to distribute truth-clarifying materials. She was put under surveillance by the police and regarded as an important criminal to arrest. Since 2001, she had been forced to live away from home and had to continuously stay on the move, in hiding. Fortunately, before the persecution began, she had obtained a passport to go to Germany. Finally in February 2004, Chen Gang's mother came to Germany. Chen Gang told reporters that he was happy that his mother feels safe now. He also stated that after his passport was rejected for renewal, he put in a lot of effort writing letters to the German Prime Minister, The Foreign Affairs Ministry and Members of Parliament, hoping that they could help him obtain a passport. A Member of Parliament with a sense of justice personally went to the Chinese Embassy to negotiate on behalf of Mr. Gang, but to no avail. Consequently, he has to report to the German immigration office every two months to obtain a temporary pass in order to continue staying in Germany. This has continued for two years. On several occasions, the German department has told him that he cannot go on like this, that he needs to have a passport. Not only that, because he has no identification documents, it has created many difficulties for him in his work and studies. Some Members of Parliament suggested that he seek refugee status. "I always wanted to have an identity as a Chinese national in a dignified manner. I was born there and my family is there. I love my country, but because I practice Truth, Compassion, Forbearance and want to be a good person, I was stripped of my rights to be a Chinese national. Finally I have only one road to take: to seek asylum. I feel sad for my country." He gave a deep sigh.
When the reporter asked what thoughts he had of "4.25," Mr. Gang said, "Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, every year on this day I come to the Chinese Embassy to protest peacefully. This is the fourth time. The persecution is still continuing, it should have ended earlier. However, the efforts of Falun Gong practitioners will awaken the conscience of many people. When I recall April 25, 1999, I can clearly see that Falun Gong practitioners have created a remarkable example for future people. Under such a dangerous mighty political environment, so many people stepped forward willingly. When they were treated with injustice, in order to uphold justice, uphold the truth, they selflessly risked their lives to step forward, yet they adopted such peaceful and rational means. They opened a peaceful path for future people. A great page has been recorded in history!"

"You know that when I disseminate the Fa I don't pay attention to what group in society a person belongs to or his social status, and I don't differentiate between rich and poor, the various professions, or a person's status at his job. I don't look at anything except a person's heart. You should do the same when you clarify the truth. Don't think about him being some elite figure and create an extra mental obstacle for yourself, as if you're there to ask for his help. What's actually happening is that you're saving him, and you're giving him a chance to choose his future. That's for sure. So you should consider saving the world's people as the primary objective of clarifying the truth."
During my years of cultivation and process of clarifying the truth to people, I believed with all my heart that it was extremely urgent and essential that I explain the facts of the persecution to the police and my working unit's leaders. Yet, my fear and notions formed during this lifetime created many mental obstacles, which prevented me from clarifying the truth. Especially after being released from a forced labor camp where I had served a three-year term, I struggled continuously with the fear that the police were after me and trying to arrest me. How could I go and talk to them? So for a long time I stayed away from my home and missed precious opportunities to clarify the truth to my working unit leaders and the police. They were deceived by the media's propaganda and committed many sins against Dafa. The evil forces used my loophole to rampantly defame Dafa and persecute practitioners. I felt pained but I was just not motivated enough to break through my own mental barriers.
I. Clarify the Truth to Working Unit Leaders to Change the Cultivation Environment
After July 20, 1999, when the persecution against Falun Dafa began, my department section head talked to me almost daily, trying to convince me to renounce my belief in Falun Gong. He threatened me that he would report me to the City's "610 Office" (1) if I did not submit to his wishes. After I found out that the Security Department head was in charge of the "Falun Gong" issue, I talked to him. Because there were other people in the room, he was reluctant to listen to me. I started by telling about how my diseases were cured after practicing Falun Gong. He began to show interest in what I had to say. Then I asked him not to commit any acts against Falun Dafa from now on. I talked to him about the principle of "Good is rewarded with good and Evil is rewarded with karmic retribution." Finally I told him sincerely, "In the future, whenever my department head had a discussion with me, I will come to your office and tell you the facts about Falun Gong. It will be very beneficial to you." He did not have a negative response. After I had talked to him twice, he no longer was reluctant to listen whenever another person was present. I can now openly talk to him about Falun Gong. The police who were there also learned the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. When I went to his office for the third time, he smiled and said, "Your department head talked with you again? I already asked him not to disturb you again." Since then, my department head no longer asked me to renounce my belief in Falun Gong.
After I returned from Beijing in September 2002, the security department head and the other two leaders of my working unit came to talk to me, "We will not question you as to where you have been, nor do you have to tell us. If it makes you happy, practice it in your home, just let us know when you need to go on a trip." I smiled and said, "Why do I need to inform you how I spend my legal holidays and weekends?" I continued to clarify the truth to them and they smiled at me nicely. Later, the security department head was transferred to another working unit.
In September 1999, the staff from the Discipline Investigation and Monitoring Committee and Party office came to talk to me. They asked me to choose between the Party and Falun Gong. They told me that a Party member is not permitted to practice Falun Gong. I told them I would not stop practicing Falun Gong, nor would I quit my membership in the Party. I explained my position and revealed that our teacher asked us to become better persons and model workers. "Doesn't the Party also need such good members? If you expel me from the Party, it would damage the Party, so I will keep both." During the 2000 new-year's dinner party, four important leaders of my working unit approached and greeted me.
II. Clarifying the Truth to the Police Who Persecuted Me
1. Since November 2000, my home phone has been monitored. When the police heard, in any conversation, the mention of Falun Gong, they would order me to come to the police station. Thus, the more I visited them, the more they learned the truth about Falun Gong. They suggested that I change my phone number. When verifying the phone record on Falun Gong practitioners, they would just glance at the information or ignore it. One time I noticed that there was a portrait of our teacher on their shelf. They had taken it during a search of a practitioner's home. I told them that they must not burn it, and to please give the portrait to me. They gave the portrait to me.
2. In June 2000, a practitioner from another county was arrested. Under torture, the practitioner was coerced into telling the police that he was in contact with me. This information was submitted to the provincial Public Security Bureau, transferred to the City Public Security Bureau, and later transferred to the district Public Security Bureau. They took me there to verify the statement, but did not get the "evidence" they wanted. They sent two people to my home to search it. On the way to my home, the two policemen said that they would search my home carefully, yet in a sarcastic tone as if they were making a joke. Indeed, they sat there without taking any action after arriving at my home. I clarified the truth to them while sending forth righteous thoughts. One of them started to develop pain in his lower back and felt very uncomfortable. I gave him some medicine to take and gave him the remaining pills in the bottle. He appreciated it and said, "You had no earnings for months and cannot get medical expenses paid by your working unit." I said, "Thanks to Master Li and Falun Dafa, I have a much healthier body and suffer from no illness. This drug was purchased before 1996 for my lower back pain. Now I am fine after practicing Falun Gong, and no longer feel pain, so it is no longer useful to me." I talked a lot to them. At last they said to the bureau leader on the phone: "There is nothing in her home, let her stay at home, and we will return."
3. In September 1999, the city's Falun Dafa Assistance Center main contact person and I were arrested and taken to the police station. We studied the Falun Dafa teachings and practiced the exercises; therefore, the police were deprived of their bonus. They thus locked us up for an entire day in a cold, unlit place, and this was during the frigid November weather. We held a hunger strike to protest our mistreatment. One of the policemen came to talk to me, and I clarified the truth to him. His attitude towards Dafa and his frame of mind seemed to have changed quite a bit after we talked a few times. At last he asked me whether the exercises could cure heart-disease. I said yes. He said that he would practice Falun Gong when it is redressed in China. He said to me that I could eat something, but he would not report to the higher officials. I said no, that was not what practitioners who practiced "truthfulness, compassion, tolerance" should do. I was released three days after I went on the hunger strike.
4. During the "Two Meetings" of March 2003, police from the Criminal Investigation Section of the District Security Bureau came to my home and stayed for three days. They wanted to find some "evidence," but failed. Then they arrested me and searched my home. I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil arrangement, and negate any forced labor sentence (fellow practitioners also sent forth righteous thoughts to support me when they learned that I was arrested). Immediately I felt a warm current pouring down from the top of my head. What should I be afraid of? The police had been deceived and manipulated by the higher authorities too. They were also among those that needed to be saved. I knew should save them with benevolence. While I was thinking these thoughts, I noticed that they were no longer angry. One policeman remained while the others left. I clarified the truth to him. He listened carefully, and said, "My mother also practiced Falun Gong, and I know you are all good people." Shortly afterwards the two policemen who went to ransack my home came back. One of them said, "Old lady, you hide things very well, we did not find anything." The other policeman was too tired. He did not even come into the room (I knew this was because of Teacher's strengthening power and fellow practitioners' cooperation). He also said, "Your daughter-in-law helped you so much, she is really great!" In the afternoon I was sent to the National Protection section. The chief of that section smiled at me when he saw me and said, "I have not seen you for many days, you look younger." I smiled and said to him, "The more I practice, the older I grow. Also, you are arresting people who practice Falun Gong, who dares to practice it?" He told me that if I would accept the forced labor camp verdict, I would be released on bail after only one or two months. I told him that I did not do anything wrong and thus should not stay for a single day. He said, "You are truly a good person. Let me ask the city bureau." I sent forth righteous thoughts while he called the City Security Bureau. He told them that I was over 60 years old (actually I was only in my fifties) and of bad health. He also told them that I had one-year detention, and it was safer to release me on bail. The city bureau agreed. He then called my family and asked them to come and get me. I went back home in the evening in a proud and upright manner. This experience taught me that I still held many attachments, such as the attachment of fear, pursuit of results, vanity, and showing off. I should strengthen my Fa study.
III. After Clarifying the Truth to the "610 Office" Personnel in the Working Unit, I was No Longer Homeless
1. Teacher said,
"If you are without the Goodness (Shan) that a Dafa disciple has, then you are not a cultivator. If a Dafa disciple cannot validate the Fa, then he is not a Dafa disciple" (On "The Dignity of Dafa" from Essentials for Further Advancement II).
In the course of clarifying the truth to sentient beings and saving them, I realized that it was honorable because of Dafa practitioners' benevolent behavior. Ordinary people believed what Dafa practitioners said to be true and realized that Falun Dafa is good. Every single word and action of ours is to validate Dafa. However, since the beginning of 2001, I have been unable to go back home and stay. I found this to be due to the lack of depth in my truth clarification. Through Fa study and Teacher's hint, I realized that I should go home. I returned home in February 2002, but I developed the attachment of fear. Every time when there was the sound of a police car, or even the noise of any vehicle, I would think, Are they coming to get me? When someone was going upstairs, I would look at him through the peephole on the door to make sure that he was not the police. Whenever I saw the police or a police car, I would retreat. The more I became afraid, the more frequently police cars parked in front of my home. Teacher said,
"As I've said, everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.").
Due to my own heart not being righteous, I remained within tribulations for a long time. Through continuous Fa study and looking inwards, I decided that I should clarify the truth to the police. After this righteous mind emerged, the police cars parked less frequently in front of my home. Sometimes they came but left immediately. One time, I actively went to clarify the truth to the two policemen who came to watch me, telling them why I chose to practice Falun Gong, the changes I experienced after practicing Falun Gong, and other important issues. I said to them, "We are all good people who follow the standard of 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance.' We want to be good people. Why are you guys staying here to watch good people?" They said they knew practitioners were all good people; they were just following the orders from the higher authorities. They also knew that some people criticized them for not distinguishing between good and bad, as well as not catching bad people, but catching good people instead. They said, "We won't do this." And they did not come back to my home again.
2. After I returned, the chief of the "610 Office" personally came to my area to see whether I still practiced Falun Gong. Some people challenged him: "Why do you come to ask about her, why don't you ask your mother whether she is still practicing Falun Gong?" The chief's mother once had brain thrombosis. He sent her to the practice site where his mother's disease was cured after practicing Falun Gong. This was well known to many people. When I heard about his coming to monitor me, I first sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil controlling him, and then I went to his house to wait outside for him. I saw him leaving with his wife, so I approached them to say hello. He said, " It is good you came back." I said, "Did you come to watch me the other day? I heard that you kept on asking other people whether I came back or not and whether I still practice or not. I have a few words to tell you, you know Falun Gong is good, because you sent your mother to the practice site and thus her illness was cured. How could you return goodness with a bad deed? Instead of appreciating Dafa practitioners, you even assisted in the persecution! Since you are assigned to work in the '610 Office,' you should keep a clear mind and should not commit any wrong doings in persecuting Falun Gong." He insisted on his own point of view and said, "Now Falun Gong practitioners have changed from what they used to be." Later I tried different ways to clarify truth to him. Besides, I often took truth-clarifying materials to his parents' home. I took every possible chance to talk to him and his parents, and told his parents to urge him not to do bad things that damage Dafa. Whatever he did was only for a bit of temporary profit. I also told them that it was not too late to stop his wrong doings. One day before the citywide mass arrest campaign in 2002, his father told me that the district police station was planning to search every single house, those who had Falun Gong books and materials were to be taken away if they did not sign the guarantee to give up Falun Gong. He told me to hide somewhere. I immediately told all fellow practitioners. During this mass arrest campaign, our region had the least losses. This tells us that whenever a person understood the truth, he will make a right decision to position himself well. Later this person left the "610 Office."
Teacher said in Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference,"
"Wherever there's a problem, that is where you need to clarify the truth and save people."
Every morning and afternoon between 6 and 7 o'clock, the security people in my working unit went to the residence buildings to search for and remove Dafa truth clarification materials. Sometimes they came early in the morning, around 3-4 o'clock, to arrest Dafa practitioners. Enlightened by Teacher's words, I thought: These people had enough chance to read the materials, yet they still believe what the lying TV propaganda told them. I need to clarify the truth to them. So I went to the leader of the security personnel and talked to him in a compassionate manner. In the beginning he argued, yet after my second visit his attitude changed a lot. In order to better clarify truth to him, I went to the grocery store owned by his family and talked to his entire family. In the meantime I looked inwards to improve myself and the way I clarified the truth to him. Three visits later, he told me not to distribute materials one apartment after another, because it was too obvious; otherwise they would not care since they were also tired of trying to catch Dafa practitioners. He said. "If one of us sees you distributing materials, it is OK; two of us, fine; but it is hard to not do anything if three of us see it." I also talked to the patrolling police, telling them they were committing bad deeds against Dafa. In the meantime, we also adjusted our way of distributing the truth clarification materials, tried to be less eye-catching by putting materials in some apartments of one building and some more into the other building. Those patrolling police said that they would not care either since their leader did not. Indeed, when the patrol police saw me later handing out materials, they did not try to stop me. During the years between 2002-2004, our distribution of materials has become very easy, and we had few losses. No one in my working unit was arrested.
IV. Clarifying the Truth to the Leaders Who Persecuted Me and Demanding Full Restoration of Working Benefits
Since the wide-scale arrests in April 2002, I was forced to leave my home to avoid further persecution. My work unit stopped my salary and all working benefits. I understood that I should not passively bear the persecution; instead I should talk with the leaders and explain the facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa. But the leaders did not want to talk with me, and used excuses to not to meet with me. So I wrote them letters (I made six copies every time and mailed them) to expose their persecution of me. I told them the principle of "Good is rewarded with good and Evil meets with karmic retribution," and suggested they choose the right path for their future. I stated clearly in my first letter that if they still did not understand the truth or refused to solve my problem, I would continue to write to them. After my second letter was sent out, I still heard nothing from them. I looked within myself and found my attachment. I rectified this omission. Four days after I sent out the third letter, the secretary of the Senior Cadres' Office came to tell me that they received my letter and would have a meeting to discus the problem of my salary, and they wanted me to write a "Guarantee Letter."(2) I said, "Can anyone of you write a guarantee letter to me to promise I would not catch any illness? Since you still don't know the facts about Dafa, I have to keep writing my letters until you all understand." At the same time, I looked within myself for an attachment. If I did not do things based on the Falun Dafa principles, as a practitioner, then the power of Dafa would not be part of me. I wrote a letter again to them. Several days later, the secretary came to my home, "The person who is in charge of the Human Resource Administration said that you were too stubborn to write any guarantee letter. So The Senior Cadres' Office will write a report for you, I will sign it, and have the secretary of Human Resource Administration sign it, then it will be done." But 2 weeks later, I still did not have my salary. My understanding was that I had to clarify the truth to more of these people. I called the secretary of the Senior Cadres' Office. The secretary said, "The secretary of Human Resource Administration refused to sign the report because you did not write a guarantee letter." I realized that I explained the facts of Falun Dafa to all leaders and members of party committee except the secretary of the Human Resource Administration. I wrote him a letter exposing his wrong doings of persecuting Dafa. I wrote, "You are a recognized official to serve people's needs. Besides, you read Dafa books before, I believe that you will not do anything to harm Dafa. I will write you a letter every day to clarify the truth to you. When you have time, please read my letters. I also carry responsibility for not telling you the facts earlier. It is not too late to correct yourself and do the right thing from now on. Don't wait for the day when justice is brought to the all perpetrators. Otherwise, you will feel too guilty to face your friends, relatives, and coworkers." After I sent out the sixth letter, the section head of "610 Office" and the secretary of the Senior Cadres' Office came to my home and apologized, "I came here in a hurry and didn't have time to change out of my police uniform, do you mind?" I said, "No, I don't mind. My teacher says that we should only look at people's hearts and intentions." He said, "We come here to deliver the three decisions made by the secretary:
1. Without the permission of the working unit, the city and district public security bureaus cannot come to arrest the working unit's practitioners.
2. Restore all your working benefits.
3. From now on, no one will interfere with your practicing Falun Gong. I will leave my cell phone number with you. My cell phone will be on 24 hours every day. Whoever comes to harass you, just give me a call."
I thanked them. From the bottom of my heart, I am grateful that our Teacher gave me the opportunities to clarify the truth, and I witnessed Dafa's mighty power.
Through years of cultivation and rectifying the Fa, I experienced our Teacher's benevolence and Dafa's nobility. I also realized that our practitioners' every word and every behavior actually are a way to clarify the truth. Though I eventually got rid of many human notions and attachments, these notions and attachments slowed me down, made me unable to clarify the truth to the leaders earlier, and thus they committed wrongs against Dafa for a period of time. I will be more diligent in the future fulfilling my promises and take every opportunity to let more people hear the truth of Dafa.
(1) "610 Office": a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches.
(2) "Guarantee Statement" - A statement to declare that one is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.

After I grasped that her twelve-year-old son had forever lost his mother, I was unable to remain composed. Today I will let the kindhearted people of the world know about the origin of the photos.

I met Wu Lingxia at the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp. One afternoon in July or August 2001, some collaborators (former practitioners who have turned against Dafa due to brainwashing and torture) and criminal inmates sent her to my cell. Others had informed me some time ago that she had never renounced her belief under threat by her persecutors. We shared about how a practitioner could maintain her belief in such an environment. This was the only occasion we spent some time together. Later, we heard that she was sent home as she was suffering from liver failure and ascites as a consequence of the persecution.
After I had struggled through the perils and difficulties at the forced labor camp, I was told about some of her experiences. She went to Beijing twice to appeal and clarify the facts about Falun Dafa to the government. The Beijing Police and the police on duty at the localities she visited persecuted her. Her husband was forced to divorce her. She had no alternative but to return to her parent's home in Shuangyashan with her son. One day in 2001, she went to the house of a fellow practitioner and was arrested there. After being detained in the Shuangyashan detention center for more than two months, she was sent to the forced labor camp in June. At the center, the police did not allow her to sleep for several days and nights. Police officers Yu Wenbin, Liu Yadong, Zhang Xiaodan, Liu Chaoxu, Chen Chunmei, and Liu Chunlan, as well as collaborators Zou Guizhen, Gao Yuxia, Liu Hanmin, Yang Shufen, and Han Qingbo forced her to watch propaganda videos that distorted the facts. But all these did not confuse Wu Lingxia and she walked her path steadfastly. She continued to explain the facts of the persecution to the police, the criminal inmates and to brainwashed former fellow practitioners.
During the period from July to August 2001, many people at that forced labor camp had diarrhea or were vomiting. She was one of them. Because she did not renounce her belief under the threats by the officials, they made things difficult for her. On one occasion she defecated in her pants and the prison police reprimanded and degraded her. It was very warm weather in the Northeast during that season. The doors were locked and she was not allowed to go to the toilet. From that time on, her health deteriorated significantly. A fellow practitioner recollected: "I shared the room with her for two weeks. During that period, the forced labor camp took in another group of Falun Gong practitioners. The prison officials had no alternative but to force more of the practitioners to share cells. After the newly arrived practitioners had attended brainwashing sessions by the prison police officers, they would be sent to the Seventh Intermediate Brigade to work. By then, there would be spare cells. We would then be separated. When I saw her, her abdomen was severely distended, and she could only drink a little soup. If she did not eat she would be hungry. But when she ate some food, her stomach would swell and she could not stand it. From her chest down, her body and her lower limbs were swollen. Due to the swelling, her skin looked shiny. Her lower legs were swollen to the size of the pillars. Her legs and thighs were the same size. Her feet were swollen and she could not put on her shoes. She could not bend down. When she lay down she could hardly breathe. The practitioners took turns reciting the Falun Dafa teachings, and 2 weeks had elapsed. The prison doctor allowed her to go to the hospital for an examination. Her whole abdominal cavity was filled with fluid, and the doctor recommended that she stay at the hospital because her life was in danger. The doctor said that it was difficult to believe that given such a condition, she could still be in such good spirits. She clarified the facts to the doctor, and told him that she was an innocent person that was being persecuted. When she practiced Dafa she was free from illnesses. Such a magnificent practice, and yet she was prohibited from benefiting from it; instead she was sent to this camp and persecuted to such an extent. She was released the next day. She had to foot the bill for her taxi fare to go to the hospital and the police who accompanied her ate their lunches at her expense. Though the police obtained some money from the main brigade for her, they used the money on themselves, only leaving the little that was left for her. The leftover money was not even enough for her fare home, and her sister had to come and get her."
We visited her and met with her and her son. The youngster was helping his grandparents look after his mother. He was doing well in his studies. Her parents were very kind and sincere elderly persons, even assisting her in her cultivation and reminding her to send forth righteous thoughts.
They lived in the suburban district in impoverished conditions. The local practitioners helped with cleansing her wounds. We shared, studied the Fa, and sent forth righteous thoughts. She was totally out of shape, which could only be described as shocking, as her body was in terrible condition. Her face, and arms were just skin and bones, and her neck did not have the strength to hold up her head. Her arms looked like two pieces of dried wood and were placed on the armrest. Her ribs resembled those in the X-ray films, each one could be clearly seen and counted. Her abdomen was so distended it seemed about to explode. Her skin was so extended that there was not a wrinkle to be seen. Her belly button was pushed so far out, it seemed to have been turned outwards and was about the size of a hen's egg. She had a piece of cloth wrapped around her lower back and her buttocks had several ulcers with pus oozing out. Both of her legs were swollen and had turned blue-black in color. The limbs below the knees were utterly devastated, with both calves, heels and toes having decayed. The clothing around these areas were completely soaked with pus. Her feet rested on a board with absorbent material placed around them to soak up the pus. Her instep was swollen and was green in color. In spite of being in that condition, she persisted in Fa-study, practiced the exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts. She was unable to lie down day or night and could only lean against something for a moment. Even in this condition, the local police still came to harass her. I feel all these facts must be documented to let the world know. Someone who had been healthy in body and spirit, a good and kind soul, had been persecuted to such a deplorable condition, and only because she practiced Falun Dafa. This is the truth that will expose the lies told to the world. As a result of my asking for opinions, the fellow practitioners and Wu Lingxia agreed to leave behind the photos. Later, I visited her several times as her condition worsened. On every occasion, Wu Lingxia dragged her rotting feet and struggled to the door to see us off. After she passed away, her voice still echoed in my ears: "Give me more truth clarification materials." She still remembered her duty. Her father told us that if she could only walk, she would go on the road, and to the police station to say, "Falun Dafa is Good! The persecution of Zhen, Shan and Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance) is a crime that cannot be forgiven."
After she passed away, the wicked perpetrators severely and recklessly persecuted several practitioners involved in the release of the photos to the world. One of them was tortured in prison and was later diagnosed with cancer. His life was in critical danger and he was thus released. Two of these practitioners were sentenced to lengthy prison terms. One practitioner had his spine broken in prison and is now paralyzed. Mr. Ji Songshan was arrested by the policemen Du Zhanyi, Li Hongbo and Liu Weiguo from the Shuangyashan "610 Office" (1). Within five hours after his arrest, Ji Songshan was beaten to death. The day when young Mr. Ji was arrested, the neighborhood in the location where he was arrested, including his home was hit by a frightful thunderstorm. The deafening thunder shook the earth and the windows of the houses rattled loudly. Heaven was warning the world! It was regrettable that young Mr. Ji did not leave a single photo, as the police had an order for his arrest and all his photos at his home were destroyed. I am also on the list of those to be arrested, so I have left home to avoid persecution.
Our revered Teacher has taught us what is really good and what is evil. During this magnificent historical moment, let us use every method to expose the evil and eliminate it. Let us use all the strength that Dafa has endowed us with to praise our Teacher and the principle of Truth, Compassion, Tolerance! No matter how often we shed tears and feel broken hearted when remembering what has taken place, we still do not wish that others should suffer as we have. Thus, it is necessary for us to record all that has taken place. Our fellow practitioners have given their lives, yet, why are the criminal elements still persisting? Are there responsibilities that we had not borne well? Let us remember those fellow practitioners that have sacrificed themselves. Have we fully immersed ourselves in clarifying the facts as those fellow practitioners had done day and night? Let's remember that our revered Teacher has come from the most holy and pure place to a filthy world, just for us. Think about the immense hardship our esteemed Teacher has to bear for us in order to lead us from the past into the future!

(Clearwisdom.net) How does a practitioner break away from the old force's arrangement and step out of tribulations? Only when we balance individual cultivation and Fa-rectification period cultivation can we truly walk our path of Fa-rectification arranged by Master well.
During the vicious campaign of genocide against Falun Gong, which has lasted almost five years, I have experienced all sorts of persecution, yet I have remained firm in my cultivation practice. Thus, I thought that I met the requirements of a Dafa disciple in the Fa-rectification period. In fact, I unintentionally followed the old force's arrangement. It is just like what Master says in Zhuan Falun,
"...Some people have bad thoughts when they're doing qigong exercises, and when those thoughts are in line with their thinking, they'll come teach them." ("Practicing in an Evil Way", Lecture Five)
" 'I'll take care of you. I'll arrange your cultivation.' So it'll arrange things for you, but where will your cultivation take you?..." ("Buddha Image Consecration", Lecture Five)
I suddenly awakened--throughout my cultivation, I have been attached to my self. Even when doing Dafa work, my standpoint and standards remained focused on "Personal Cultivation", and I always found myself trying to break through tribulations in personal cultivation arranged by the old forces. Under Master's benevolent care and great sacrifice, every time I have narrowly escaped from the danger. Yet as a Dafa disciple in the Fa-rectification period, I didn't fully use my life for validating Dafa and saving sentient beings. Hence, I have caused losses to Dafa and left a stain on my path of Fa-rectification.
Seeing practitioners immersed in long-term tribulations, and many more practitioners being tortured severely, I often reflect: why would the old forces dare to persecute practitioners in such a rampant way, even torturing them to death? There are complicated factors arranged by the old forces throughout history. As Master has pointed out, there is also the matter that "the old forces arranged this for the purpose of 'examining' Dafa in a destructive manner." ("In Reference to a Prophecy"). Isn't there also the factor of the old forces attempting to test us by providing a severe environment?
Master says in "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference":
"And when you are thinking things over, whether you use human notions or the righteous thoughts of a cultivator is going to determine the different results you get."
In the experience sharing articles on Clearwisdom.net, there was a story about a practitioner who managed to leave a detention center after going on a hunger strike. She had barely recovered when several policemen came to arrest her again from her home. She didn't open the door, so they tried to forcefully break in by ramming her window and door. She sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the persecution against her, but they kept on fiercely hitting her window. Suddenly a righteous thought came to her mind, "The evil is not allowed to persecute Dafa." In a split second the evil was gone. There is another story about a practitioner who went on hunger strike to protest the persecution. He endured severe torture and was then sentenced to a labor camp. While he was in the line waiting for the physical exam in the labor camp, he had a thought, "Most of the practitioners in our region are detained. If I am detained here, who is going to do the Dafa work?" As a result of this righteous thought, the labor camp refused to take him because of his "poor health." He thus returned home.
Dafa disciples are the only hope now for the sentient beings to be saved. If Dafa disciples are unable to participate in the Fa-rectification and in saving sentient beings, or if they lose their lives during the persecution, it would be a great loss to Dafa. As Master says,
"...At present, humankind's every day is arranged according to Dafa's needs;..." "...Everything Dafa disciples are doing at present is creating the future, and right now everything in the Three Realms exists for Dafa."("What Are Supernormal Abilities", Essentials for Further Advancement II)
It is crucial that we make the best use of the time that Master has given us to save more sentient beings. The old forces are using the excuse of testing practitioners' "Self cultivation" to get rid of some of our attachments to arrange all sorts of tests: the conflicts among practitioners, karma elimination, detention in jails, and even deadly torture. Their purpose is to consume our energy and make us exhausted so that we won't be able to save sentient beings in Fa rectification. They are even trying to force Fa rectification period Dafa Disciples to give up cultivation, and then eliminate them.
If we can study the Fa with a calm mind, look at things from the standpoint of the Fa-rectification, understand and balance well the relation between personal cultivation and cultivation in the Fa-rectification period, and recognize and actively eliminate each and every thought arranged by the old force in our minds, then the old force's arrangements and "tests" would cease to exist. Master says,
"...Indestructible righteous faith in the cosmos's Truth forms benevolent Dafa disciples' rock-solid, Diamond-Like Bodies, it frightens all evil, and the light of Truth it emanates makes the unrighteous elements in all beings' thoughts disintegrate. However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is. ("Also in a Few Words", Essentials for Further Advancements II)
When we really melt into the Fa and are particles in the Fa, who could possibly damage the Fa?
The above is my personal understanding. Please kindly point out anything incorrect.
(Clearwisdom.net) A Chinese Falun Gong practitioner was arrested for carrying Falun Gong materials through Shenzhen Customs after her family visit to Hong Kong six months ago. Her family in Hong Kong is worried that she could have been secretly tried and thrown into prison. The following is edited report based on an interview by Lin Di, RFA reporter to Hong Kong on May 18.
Thirty-nine-year-old Lin Junhui used to work in a local government in China, but she was fired for practicing Falun Gong and was unable to find another job since then.
She went to visit her sister in Hong Kong last November and was detained at Shenzhen Customs on her way back home. Her family has not heard any news about her since then.
According to her sister, Lin Junqing, "She was arrested at Luohu Customs of Shenzhen on November 22, 2003, for carrying Falun Gong CDs and flyers. It wasn't until a week later that we found she was sent to the Luohu Detention Center. It has been almost six months since then. We can't get in touch with her."
Ms. Lin: My brother in China and I have made countless phone calls for any possible news about Junhui. Government entities either ignored us or shifted responsibilities. I called earlier today for nothing.
I called the Procuratorate and was told my sister's case had been sent to the court. But when I called the court, the judge dared not to talk to me or answer the phone.
Reporter: Dared not answer the phone?
Lin: No, he wouldn't. Not even once out of the dozen of times I called.
Ms. Chen Ruijun, contact person for the Global Rescue of Falun Gong Practitioners in Hong Kong, told the reporter that they had distributed flyers and held Walk to Rescue activity last Sunday in order to raise awareness of the situations of detained Falun Gong practitioners like Lin Junhui.
Chen: Our Walk to Rescue activity told the public this news. We held boards with the victims' pictures and introduction regarding her situation.
Ms. Lin said Hong Kong laws require approval by police for activities of more than thirty participants. So, they kept the number of participants under thirty. The walk lasted eight or nine hours and passed many resident communities and busy districts. They called for support from the society to help detained Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Ms. Chen told the reporter that they had held such activities many times and had often met tourists from Mainland China.
Chen: They were very shocked to see us. They thought Falun Gong must have been banned in Hong Kong because Hong Kong is part of China. Some tourists from Mainland China clearly knew the situation of Falun Gong and the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. So, they understand we were trying to rescue our fellow practitioners.
Currently, four Hong Kong residents and at least four family members of Hong Kong residents have been detained or thrown into prison in China for practicing Falun Gong.

CUMBERLAND - About a dozen bikers received a hero's welcome at Cumberland's City
Hall on Saturday morning. The teen-agers and their adult chaperones smiled and
accepted applause and flowers from students as they dismounted their bikes.
Why the attention?
Yen Ching who spoke to the gathering at City Hall said, "They are riding to save
the lives of children and teen-agers in China because of their own belief or
their parents' spiritual belief in Falun Gong."
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a practice of meditation and exercises
with teachings based on the universal principles of
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." It is practiced freely in more than 60
countries worldwide. The Falun Dafa Information Center, which tracks the
persecution in China, has verified more than 955 deaths there.
Keith Ware, who coordinated the bike project, said that it was meant to call
attention to the problem and "hopefully stems the tide of senseless persecution
of children in China."
The group left Washington on May 13 and is on a 700-mile, weeklong journey to
Chicago. They will be making stops along the way, like the one in Cumberland, to
call attention to the persecution and torture of the Falun Gong practitioners in
China.
"I was especially shocked to see students as young as our age deprived of their
right to an education," said Hal Wong, one of the bikers. Wong is from Boston
and a freshman at Yale.
The Pedals of Peace were inspired by a young Falun Gong practitioner, Fadu,
whose father was killed for his beliefs. In 1999, the Chinese government
outlawed the practice and began a campaign of persecution that continues to this
day. Now 3-year-old, Fadu travels the world with her mother telling people about
their loss.
"We don't know the exact number of children suffering from the persecution, but
we do know it has affected kids from 8 months to 17 years old, some of whom died
in police custody. Others have had their families torn apart," said Ware.
Karen Chen, a 10-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, told the gathering, "My
grandmother is also a Falun Dafa practitioner like me and she was arrested in
her home last year. The police took my granny and put her under arrest for two
months not letting anyone see her. They even took away her passport and told her
she was not allowed to come see her relatives in the United States."
Councilman Ed Hedrick welcomed the riders to Cumberland and told them that
"our sacrifices through history are our foundation stones for the future."
The Pedals of Peace group will travel north, then west from Washington through
Cumberland, Pittsburgh, Columbus and Indianapolis, arriving in Chicago on May
21. They will be greeted by supporters who have tracked their journey on the
website www.pedalsofpeace.org. Several adults, including experienced bikers,
will join the teens in their continuous, relay-style ride.

(Clearwisdom.net) According to a European Report (EU/China) on May 15, Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern said on May 12, after meeting Chinese Premier Wen Jaibao that he raised the issues of the suppression of the Falun Gong spiritual movement and other human rights violations during a two-hour meeting with Mr. Wen, who was on a two-day state visit to Ireland.
Representing the European Union's Irish Presidency, Mr. Ahern said, "For decades China refused to engage at all with the various human rights bodies." He said that human rights bodies have requested him to raise the issue and that was an important issue.
Mr. Ahern said he had followed the EU line during the meeting, which has urged the Chinese Government to engage in dialogue about human rights issues, rather than being in a state of denial.
"I stressed, as a number of my other EU colleagues did in this five-country visit, how we believe that the Chinese authorities can do this", he said. "I emphasized the importance that if China wanted to make and succeed in making progress in some of the other areas, which they are doing and do want to do, that this is an issue that they have to work with the European Union, not to mention other places in the world, on."
(Clearwisdom.net) During Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Belgium, Falun Gong practitioners submitted a list of names to the Belgian Government of individuals who are known to have committed acts of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China. The officials thanked Falun Gong practitioners for the information and material they submitted. The Belgium officials expressed that they would carry out a thorough investigation, showing the Belgian Government's unremitting efforts in improving China's human rights.
Falun Gong practitioners also wrote a letter to the Belgian Prime Minister, requesting him to ban one member of the visiting delegation, Bo Xilai, who has been directly responsible for many Falun Gong practitioners deaths. The letter pointed out that during the campaign of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners in China, there is proof that at least 900 people have been tortured to death and uncountable cases of human rights violations are commonplace. Bo Xilai, whose hands are stained with the blood of innocent people, should be held responsible for the murder of at least 103 Falun Gong practitioners and thousands of cases of torture. No democratic country can host any person guilty of such barbaric behavior.

Erping Zhang still remembers quite clearly how shocked he was, the first time he heard Americans speak about their belief in God.
"I simply did not understand it. How could somebody imagine that a God existed? It was inconceivable to me", said forty-four year old Erping Zhang, brought up during the last days of the Cultural Revolution and being effectively trained to dismiss any belief in God.
It was not until he as came to the USA to study, age twenty-four, that his firmly cemented picture of the world was developing cracks. Minor cracks to begin with, but step-by-step the cracks grew larger, and for the last five years Zhang has been directly blacklisted by the Chinese government (1) [...]. Today he is the manager of the independent Association for Asian Research in New York, especially researching Human Rights.
"The belief in God is dangerous for the communist system. It emphasizes the individual instead of the community and in this way it opposes the idea of class struggle and the dictatorship of the proletariat", says Erping Zhang, yesterday attending a seminar at Christiansborg on Human Rights organized by the Danish PEN.
China officially has freedom of religion, and more than 200 million people are estimated to belong to a religious community. However, the freedom is very much limited. The believers are only allowed to worship their religion in a church, temple or the like, approved by the state.
"On paper the Chinese Government is recognizing the right to practice ones belief, but only as long as it is in a place under government control. If, for instance, a group of Christians want to assemble for themselves with a priest they have found themselves, they risk severe punishment", says Erping Zhang.
He points out that the Chinese Government is only tolerating the religious communities because it hopes that they by the end of the day may be used to stabilize the communist system.
Thus the government has, since 1998, severely persecuted about 100 million Chinese people who are practicing Falun Gong, a modernized version of the old Chinese qigong technique, following Master Li Hongzhi's prescriptions for cultivating around the three main principles: Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.
"The government originally encouraged people to practice Falun Gong, because they realized that it gave people better health and could save the state large health expenses, but when they found out that Falun Gong also made people think in other ways, the persecution began", says Erping Zhang.
Only one month ago it was confirmed that another twenty-five adherents of Falun Gong had been killed.
The risk of ending one's life or ending up in a prison camp, if as a believer one steps outside the framework for religious practice set by the state, is one the most severe consequences for the Chinese people. But even when one is holding on to all rules, it is not without cost to confess officially to a religion.
Foremost it is important to consider that one can not at the same time be religious and a member of the communist party. So, one has automatically renounced the long list of special favours given to party members: housing administrative jobs and even any involvement in politics.
"Chinese people with religious beliefs have two possibilities to get a job: to practice their belief in secrecy or to enter private business", says Erping Zhang.
He encourages the West to press the Chinese government hard and consistently on the issue of human rights. It is the most feasible way to create changes in China. The great majority of Chinese are living in ignorance in the countryside and have no power to create reforms from within.
"The western governments have a moral authority, which they have to use. They are about to make business relationships with China and invest in the country, but it must all the time be supplemented with a demand for better human rights", says Erping Zhang.
Maybe it will be possible some day for him to again phone home to his mother in China. He has not done so since he was blacklisted, knowing full well that his mother would be punished (1) [...].

However, the same practice is facing different treatment in the place where it originated from. while Falun Dafa is welcomed in more than 60 countries and regions around the world, Falun Dafa has been persecuted in China by Jiang's political group since July 1999. It is reported that former Chinese president and current Chairman of National Military Committee, Jiang Zemin, became jealous over its popularity and numbers, which were larger than the members of the Party. Thus he orchestrated a brutal campaign of persecution against this ancient Chinese practice, which is based on the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.". Since then, Practitioners from within China and those visiting China from overseas have been subject to numerous cases of arrest and torture. To date 960 Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted to death during police custody with more than 100,000 arrested. Moreover, many overseas practitioners have also been sentenced to prison terms when they went back to China. Among them, Dr. Charles Lee, a U.S. citizen, has been detained for more than 1 year since January 2003. Practitioners Liu Feng and Yang Fang are still suffering in Chinese labor camps since they went back to China from Ireland.
Most recently, according to BBC Worldwide Monitoring and Radio TV Hong Kong, in a recent secrete trial in Shenzhen, Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioner Carol Chan (Fu Xueying) who is 28 was sentenced to 3 years in prison for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying fliers.
Reportedly, Ms. Fu's husband, Mr. Fung, a 46-year old businessman, had been calling a judge responsible for his wife's case every week and every time had been told to call again later. The last time he called before the International Labor Day holiday (From May 1 to May 9) was on April 30 and nobody answered the phone. By the time he was informed of his wife's verdict, the deadline to appeal had just passed. He told SCMP: "I was only just told on May 10 that my wife was sentenced to three years in prison."
Mr. Fung told Clearwisdom.net that his wife had been moved to another prison while the Chinese authorities refused to divulge its location.
Family members and friends of Ms. Fu petitioned for her release upon hearing the sad news. According to the South China Morning Post, on the afternoon of May 16, Ms. Fu's husband and about 20 Falun Gong practitioners marched from Kwun Tong to Kowloon City to demand her release. They also demanded the release of Lin Junhui, a Mainland Falun Gong practitioner arrested in November. "She was sentenced by a Shenzhen court to an unspecified jail term for returning with Falun Gong material after visiting relatives in Hong Kong," the report said.
Mr. Li Hongzhi introduced Falun Dafa to the Chinese public in 1992. Since then, Falun Dafa has spread to the world quickly by word of mouth and from heart to heart. Falun Dafa's positive effect on improving civilian's physical and spiritual health and stabilizing society was highly recognized by the Chinese government and is now widely recognized by the world community. Falun Dafa has received more than 1000 proclamations and awards over the past 5 years from governments and organizations around the world.

Modern people actively seek ways to preserve their health in their spare time. This year, Professor Liu gave a lecture entitled "Karma is the fundamental reason for illnesses--and how to obtain physical and mental health." The lecture was lively and full of illustrative examples. Professor Liu, shared his knowledge of medicine and his understanding on how to preserve one's health.
Professor Liu talked about how modern medicine defines "health" and "illnesses," and what Western medicine as well as the mainstream of modern medical research believes are the causes of illness. He expressed that the present levels of medical treatment can indeed improve symptoms, but toxic side effects of the drugs are quite common. Drugs can only be used as a temporary solution but are difficult to effect a permanent cure. Then he discussed what the origin of illnesses are thought to be and how religions and cultivation practice teachings believe that the fundamental reason of illnesses is from karma that is brought from a person's previous lifetime.
Modern clinical experiments and related books on current and previous lifetimes have demonstrated and introduced that the principle of karma implies a system of transmigration and reincarnation. According to the principle of karma, whatever a human being does is recorded. People can accumulate karma by doing bad deeds, and obtain something known as De, or virtue, by doing good deeds. Karma is the opposite of De (virtue), they are mutually transferred. Through cultivating one's moral character, one can transform karma into De (virtue.)
Professor Liu shared his own story with the audience. He has been teaching medicine for many years at the university, and has become knowledgeable in medicine, yet he had no way to escape the plague of illnesses. He had been taking medicine to regulate his high blood pressure, heart disease, coronary artery blockage, and constipation. He had several surgeries. Five years ago, after he began practicing Falun Gong, all these diseases disappeared. His physical and mental health has greatly improved. He always keeps kindness in mind, became more considerate of others, and no longer easily loses his temper as before. Now, his state of mind is peaceful, his words are powerful, his eyes are bright and he is energetic. Many people don't believe he is in his 60s.
Ms. Wu, a volunteer from the processing section expressed that this type of lecture was beneficial to many people. Modern people work hard, have little time to discuss things with others and don't have access to a wide range of information. The lecture served to enrich their knowledge, and help them learn how to deal with issues and people in their daily lives.
Mr. Xia, an employee from Taizhong's Custom's Bureau said that he had long heard about Falun Gong from the newspaper and the media. He is a vegetarian, and wanted to know more about Buddhist principles. He felt the content of today's lecture was close to Buddhist principles, so he was interested in learning more about it. Last year after listening to the lecture, he purchased the book of Falun Gong's main teachings entitled, Zhuan Falun, and this year intended to locate a practice site where he could learn the Falun Gong exercises.
Taizhong Processing and Export Section Administrative Office Director, Mr. Xu Dingxin said, it's his duty to choose an interesting lecture for the staff. Everything is worthwhile if staff members come away with new understandings and self improvement. He said Falun Gong is amazing; it emphasizes cultivating one's moral character. It's a good choice for many everyday people, because it is simple and doesn't contain a list of rules. If workers could pay more attention to the cultivation of their moral conduct, the working environment would become more harmonious. Mr. Xu continued that the Buddha School talks about predestined relationships and following the natural course. Predestined people can join and learn, less predestined can also plant a good seed that will reap benefits when the opportunity arises.

Barcelona is a beautiful international city surrounded by the sea and mountains. During the two-day celebration, the Parque de la Ciutadella became a big, crowded, multi-racial, multi-culture stage. This year is the first time that Spanish Falun Gong practitioners formally joined the "Earth Day" activities. The 25th of April also marks the 5th anniversary of the peaceful appeal by 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing.
Practitioners prepared lots of Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in different languages at the Dafa stand. Tourists from France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, USA, Russia, Denmark, Morocco, India, New Zealand and China all happily accepted Dafa materials in their respective languages.
Among people talking to practitioners, some of them had seen practitioners practicing in the park before and therefore had a little understanding of Falun Dafa, while for many others it was the first time that they heard of Dafa. They all showed an interest in learning Falun Gong exercises and asked for the exercise locations and time. Many parents and their children came to learn to make colourful paper-lotus flowers with practitioners. When a child came past our stand and saw the picture of practitioners meditating, he pointed at the picture and told his parents:" I want to learn this." This child only happily left when he saw his parents collect many Dafa materials.
After learning the truth, many people could not believe that such a beautiful practice was being brutally persecuted in China. People willingly came to sign our petition supporting Falun Dafa and calling for an immediate end to the persecution.
There were also many young Chinese people passing by the Dafa stand. They willingly came to talk with practitioners. Some of them were poisoned by Jiang's political group's lies and slander of Falun Gong, and initially showed resistance to Dafa. After practitioners patiently clarified the truth and showed the truth-clarifying pictures to them, they suddenly realised that they were also the victims of lies and that the only thing their fellow countrymen, who are being brutally tortured and killed, wanted to do is to become better people by improving through self cultivation practice. They thanked practitioners for helping them to learn the facts of Falun Gong.
The organisers of the "Earth Day" festival specially provided a site for practitioners to teach the exercises. Many people joined to learn the exercises. It was obvious that people are waiting to learn Falun Dafa's universal principles and begin their cultivation practice.. A girl joined the learning group during the fifth sitting exercise. Later she told practitioners that she discovered Falun Gong by chance, but she strongly felt that this was the cultivation method she has been looking for.
This "Earth Day" festival activity was a rare occasion for more people to learn the facts about Falun Dafa. The excellent response from the public encouraged practitioners to work more diligently in promoting Dafa and clarifying the truth.

(Clearwisdom.net) To mark the 12th anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public, as well as Master's birthday, on May 15th, Swiss Dafa disciples gathered in Luzern to engage in activities and to celebrate the special day. The weather, which was originally forecast to be rainy, became sunny, and the spring breeze was warm.
At 11:30 in the morning, a parade of Dafa disciples began. Banners reading "World Falun Dafa Day" told the people this was an unusual day. The small, colourful boats carrying beautifully dressed female and young disciples symbolised Fa-boats, which escorted the Dafa parade. Banners reading, "Falun Dafa is Good", "The World Needs Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance", etc, disseminated the truth to the people. The peaceful parade and the graceful Falun Dafa music of Pu Du and Ji Shi drew a lot of attention from passersby, some of whom stopped and watched. Others stopped shopping, ran out of stores to watch us, some took truth-clarification materials from Dafa Disciples, and some even joined the parade.
In the lake sailed a boat with a banner reading "Falun Dafa", upon which Dafa Disciples demonstrated the five sets of exercises, drawing a huge amount of attention from other boats and visitors along the banks. Some people pointed at us and shouted, "Look, it's Falun Gong."
Meanwhile, on the information stand beside the lake, there were exhibition boards displaying the situation around the world, showing how Dafa has gained in popularity for the past twelve years, as well as pictures showing the bloody crackdown against Falun Gong in Mainland China. A large amount of visitors stopped to look at the boards and pictures, and spoke with Dafa disciples who explained the truth. All of them expressed immense sympathy and said that Jiang's group was really too cruel. "We support your lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. You did great today. Falun Gong is really good." Some of them expressed the wish to learn to practice Falun Gong immediately.
After the end of the parade, all disciples participating in the activities took pictures together beside the lake with the beautiful scenery as a back-drop. Everyone shouted from the bottom of their hearts, "Greetings, Master." At the same time, a banner reading, "Greetings Master" made by disciples showing celestial beings, soared into the blue sky, powered by a large balloon fully loaded with disciple's infinite respect and thoughts of Master.

On May 15th, Belgian Dafa disciples came to Antwerp to celebrate the fifth World Falun Dafa Day and the twelfth anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa. The location was beside a busy shopping street. When we unfurled banners and began to practice the exercises many people came right away, attracted by the graceful and peaceful movements.
A lot of people came looking for materials that explained the facts of the persecution, and several practitioners could not keep up with the demand. Dutch, French, English and Chinese materials were all distributed. People came one after another to ask how to practice the exercises and the locations of the exercise sites. Dutch practitioners brought lilies and handmade lotus flowers to give to those children who crowded around to watch the demonstration of the exercises.
There were Chinese people passing by throughout the day. When they saw the Falun Gong practitioners practicing the exercises, most accepted the materials and listened to the introductions by Chinese and Western practitioners. A Chinese student learning music in Belgium developed more respect for Falun Gong after a Chinese practitioner's kindly and thorough explanation about the situation that was rational and contained good examples. In addition, Western practitioners talked about their own cultivation experiences, after listening to them the student thoroughly changed his impression of Falun Gong which had been formed by listening to the propaganda and fabrications widely circulated by the Chinese government. He stated he would like to further understand the situation about practicing the exercises.

It is such a blessing when Chinese people come to understand the truth of Falun Gong. They gladly accepted our materials about Falun Gong. Some of the locally born Chinese could not read Chinese, but they expressed they would bring them to their parents. Some of them told us they were on our side.
A man who came over to take pictures said to a practitioner, "Not only is the scene of practicing exercises beautiful, but the messages to the public are wonderful."

(Clearwisdom.net) May 13th is a beautiful and special day. It's been twelve years since Mr. Li Hongzhi began to teach the Falun Dafa, on May 13th 1992. Falun Dafa has been spread to over sixty countries worldwide.
With the support of Reca City's Duma Council, Dafa disciples in Latvia conducted activities celebrating World Falun Dafa Day in a local park. An exhibition of photos displayed the situation of Falun Dafa around the world, as well as the intense reactions around the world against the brutal crackdown against Falun Gong in China.
Handmade colored paper lotus flowers given to passersby brought forth smiles. Many people stopped and took them saying they would like to learn how to make these colorful paper flowers. Lots of children who came to play in the park gladly learned to practice the Falun Dafa exercises.
At this festival, Dafa disciples in Latvia extended their sincerest respect to merciful and magnificent Master. We appreciate the mercy of Master to rescue sentient beings and wished Master a happy birthday.

Besides demonstrating the Falun Gong exercises, they also practitioners exhibited their artwork and performed traditional Chinese dances which were watched by many tourists.
Though the weather was very chilly, there were still many tourists because it was the European Day of Kiev. Practitioners' soon ran out of materials, which explained the situation about Falun Gong and also about the persecution going on in China. They also prepared some special gifts in the form of balloons with the words "Falun Dafa is Good" for the children. Meanwhile, some practitioners taught tourists how to fold paper lotus flowers. Practitioners' smiles and their righteous thoughts let people experienced the beauty of Falun Dafa.

Twelve years ago, our esteemed Master started introducing Falun Dafa to the public. That was a decade when a spiritual vacuum appeared after the Cultural Revolution. That era created a group of people who did not value virtue or believe that the nature of life was kind. That era created a world where only money and a life of luxury and dissipation were appreciated. Nevertheless, Master's great teachings were like a bright star in the dark night and a piece of music from heaven lifting a cloud of depression. It was as sharp as a bolt of lightening breaking through the clouds, and it was as gentle as clear trickling stream. These teachings allowed people from a world of self-interest to finally find the true place where their hearts belong.
Back to the present, seeing these two flags are fluttering on the Rodney Square, in front of the Wilmington City Hall. Wilmington Mayor Mr. James Baker had just proclaimed May as "Falun Dafa Month".
The proclamation stated that Falun Dafa, which is based on the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, has become a universal philosophy that all people should practice and treasure. Unfortunately, in its place of origin, China, it has encountered persecution. Practitioners in China are being forced to choose between their spiritual belief and their work, family or rights to receive education. Nevertheless, millions of practitioners in China persist in practicing Falun Gong despite the danger. The Mayor also encouraged all citizens to join him in recognizing the universal principles espoused by Falun Dafa.
The unfurling of these two flags opened the celebration of World Falun Dafa Day in Delaware.
Celebrate, for obtaining today an opportunity never coming in millions of years;
Celebrate, for the vast spreading of the everlasting Great Law;
Celebrate, for purifying one's mind and body and returning to our original origin;
Celebrate, for fulfilling our vast wish to assist Master.
Watching the fan dance in the sunshine, purple dresses and broad sleeves waved gracefully, yellow silk and colorful fans fluttered like clouds.
Looking at the waist drum performance on the green lawn, the beautiful appearance is vigorous and full of joy. Sounds of the drum echo the sounds of the music.
One can feel the serenity and peace through the traditional exercise demonstration with simple but elegant movements. Some citizens left their contact information and expressed their wish to learn the exercises.
Practitioners also shared with passersby, their joy from learning the principles of Falun Dafa and also explained the facts about the terrible persecution happening in China. A local resident said, "I've heard of Falun Gong and I'm quite familiar with the suppression of practitioners by the Chinese [Jiang] government. This reminds me of the bloody (June 4) incident which happened on Tiananmen Square that I saw on TV one morning. Each time when I thought about it, I felt shook up."
In the end, practitioners sang together, "Falun Dafa is great", expressing their true happiness of bathing in the light of Falun Dafa.
A Channel 8 TV station came to interview practitioners and report on the event. Reporters also interviewed Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Gang, who was released from China's forced labor camp last year and came to the United States through many difficulties. Mr. Chen and his wife expressed, "We had never thought that good people who cultivate themselves in accordance of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance would be imprisoned and even beaten to death. While celebrating here, we are thinking of those practitioners in China, they are now suffering from the persecution. We really hope they will soon gain their freedom and urge the Chinese Government to stop the persecution. We hope May 13 will genuinely become the day that all Dafa practitioners throughout the world are able to celebrate. We hope that all practitioners in China will be able to join us in celebrating this great day."

1. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Steadfast Falun Dafa Practitioners are Tortured in a Brainwashing Center
The "610 Office" (1) of Changchun City set up a brainwashing center, where steadfast Falun Dafa practitioners are being tortured. It is located near the Dongrong Tollgate at zero kilometers of the Jilin-Changchun highway. The authorities sent all recently arrested steadfast Dafa practitioners and those who had served their forced labor term, but still stood firm in their belief in Falun Dafa, to this center. Practitioners were subjected to inhuman torture methods to force them to renounce their belief. We learned that Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Zongyu, Li Wei and a practitioner, whose name is not known at present, became paralyzed due to the severe torture they received at this brainwashing center. In spite of this, the "610 Office" authorities refuse to release them and continue to torture the practitioners.

Recently, Zhangbei County Police Department authorities in Hebei Province, drove to Yuanqianchang Village in four police vehicles to arrest Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Cuiping. Ms. Li had recently walked out of the place where she was being detained using her righteous thoughts. In a show of support, all the people of this village arrived and blocked the streets making it impossible for the police to take Li Cuiping with them.
3. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Police Interrogate Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Qu Xiaofei and Subject Him to Torture
At the end of March 2004, Laozhan Police Station police, Tonghua City, Jilin Province arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Qu Xiaofei from Tonghua City, Jilin Province, while he was repairing a storeroom at his home. The police confiscated Qu's house key from his pocket and let themselves into his home where they ransacked it. The police then took Qu Xiaofei away without proper legal procedure. At the police station, Qu was beaten all night long and on the following day he was sent to the Dongchang Police Department, where he was also tortured and interrogated. Qu Xiaofei suffered the torture without saying a word. Because of the severe torture, it was learned that Qu is unable to eat and move.
4. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Cases of Persecution Against Falun Dafa Practitioners
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhou Yusong is a village accountant of Sanyi Township, Pengzhou City. While distributing Grain Tax delivery receipts from the government, he wrote on the cards "Please remember Falun Dafa is good." More than one hundred village households accepted it gladly. However his cousins Zhou Yumin and Zhou Yuwei, and another town resident refused to accept the receipt and instead reported him to the "610 Office." Under pressure from the City level "610 Office" authorities, the Sanyi Township's "610 Office" authorities were planning to arrest and persecute Zhou Yusong. As a result, he was forced to leave home in order to avoid their plans to arrest and persecute him for his belief in Falun Dafa.
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Mianbao of Junping, Pengzhou City, was arrested by the police and sentenced to three years forced labor. Because the forced labor camp refused to accept him, he is now being held at the Pengzhou City Detention Center. The "610 Office" staff wanted to find his source of the Falun Dafa materials. Therefore, they subjected Zhang to torture on the "Tiger Bench" (2) in order to obtain the information.
Practitioner Chen Liqing of Pengzhou City failed to uphold his Xinxing (3) and gave out information about other practitioners. This resulted in a 60-year old female Dafa practitioner, with the surname of Mao and practitioner Deng Changjiu being arrested.

5. [Shahe City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Song Mengkuai, Su Xia and Dou Pingjun Taken to the Xingtai Brainwashing Center
Recently, police from various police stations in Shahe City harassed and arrested Falun Dafa practitioners in their respective jurisdictions. Two of the arrested Falun Dafa practitioners were known to be Mr. Song Mengkuai of Shangxian Village, Zanshan Office, and Ms. Su Xia of Xincheng Township. Both have been sent to the Xingtai brainwashing center.
In the evening of April 26, 2004, the officials, in collusion with the Shiliting Police Station, arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Dou Pingjun and sent him to the Xingtai brainwashing center.
6. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioner Wang Tongchun And Five Other Practitioners
A few days ago, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Tongchun was under surveillance while delivering Falun Dafa materials. He was arrested at his home. An additional Falun Dafa practitioner, a 60-year-old named Zhang, who lived on the fifth floor, was also arrested. Four other practitioners were arrested at the same time.
7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Wang Yan And His Wife Li Yueran Are Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Yan is a policeman from the Taihang Prison, Hebei Province. In mid February 2004, policemen from the Baoding City Police Bureau and the police sub-bureaus of the subordinate cities and districts went around showing a photo of a person wearing police uniform and claimed that the person in the photo was an escapee from the prison. The policemen used this ruse as an excuse to interrogate Falun Dafa practitioners and search their homes. The area around Houtun of the Xinshi District in Baoding City was their main focus. Policeman Zhang Changlin led others to interrogate the local residents and conduct door-to-door searches. The police deployed a large number of policemen around the train station and plain-clothes policemen could be seen everywhere. Finally the Baoding Police Bureau mobilized more than one hundred policemen and forty police cars to arrest Falun Dafa practitioner Wang Yan and his wife Li Yueran. The couple is currently being held at the Baoding Detention Center.

8. [Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wu Dongsheng is Arrested and Taken to the Qixing Farm Brainwashing Center at the Jiansanjiang Agricultural Administrative Bureau
Authorities from the No. 597 State Farm Police Bureau of Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province, arrested Dafa practitioner Ms. Wu Dongsheng for exposing the facts of the persecution on the Internet. She was taken to the Qixing State Farm Brainwashing Center located at the Jiansanjiang Agricultural Administrative Bureau. The head of the No. 597 State Farm already bears responsibility for torturing two Falun Dafa practitioners to death. He bribed authorities to get them to accept Ms. Wu into the brainwashing center. Now Ms. Wu Dongsheng has been detained for more than a year. In order to resist the persecution against her, Ms. Wu Dongsheng began a hunger strike on July 3, 2003.
On June 6, 2003 the brainwashing center sent Ms. Wu to Qindeli State Farm detention center. She was locked into a one-meter wide dark cell for solitary confinement. The cell is kept pitch dark around the clock. After being detained in solitiary confinement in such a tiny cell Ms. Wu was transferred to Qianjin State Farm detention center. She began a hunger strike on the fifth day of her detention. On the eleventh day of her hunger strike she was taken back to the Qixing State Farm brainwashing center.
This brainwashing center's staff is even more vicious than those at the detention center. Falun Dafa practitioners were routinely beaten and tortured. Ms. Wu was force fed and injected with unknown drugs.

9. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Cui Hongwei Is Sentenced to a 13-Year Prison Term
On April 22, 2003, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Cui Hongwei was arrested by Shuangyashan Police Department authorities. Because Mr. Cui produced matierials which explained the facts of the persecution against Falun Dafa, he was given a heavy sentence of 13 years in prison during a secret trial and taken to Mudanjiang Prison. While in prison he requested the right for all detained Falun Dafa practitioners to be able to practice their exercises. However, the request was rejected and he was severely tortured in retaliation. The police did not allow him to contact anyone, write letters or make phone calls. He was under surveillance by specially designated people and was forced to do extra heavy manual labor. He was given food of the poorest quality, such as steamed corn bread and boiled rotten cabbage. Mr. Cui is suffering from cruel physical and psychological torture.
10. [Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province] Police in Baoqing's No. Two Prison Torture Falun Dafa Practitioners Using Cruel Methods
At the end of 2001 and the beginning of 2002, the head of the Baoqing No. Two Prison in Heilongjiang Province and the police guards under order by the Baoqing County "610 Office" authorities, cruelly tortured Falun Dafa practitioners in their facility. The methods used included repeated face slapping, hanging up by handcuffs (5), forced sitting on a "tiger bench," being deprived of the right to use the toilet, force feeding and chaining several Falun Dafa practitioners together or shackling practitioners to the legs of a bed.
11. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Ms. Zhang Li, Ms. Wang Yuzhuo And Others Are Cruelly Tortured in the Harbin Female Prison
Falun Dafa practitioners illegally detained at the Harbin Female Prison, Harbin City, Ms. Wang Yuzhuo and Ms. Lou Weiming still have not been seen at the manual labor site. These two practitioners are forced to awake at 5 a.m. and return to their cell by 10 p.m. During the day the two are forced to sit on a small bench facing the wall. They are required to sit straight with their hands on top of their knees and not allowed to make any movement. If the guards deem any movement has been made, the are punished by being forced to stand in place for a long period of time or be hung up from the ceiling beam by their handcuffs, with only toes touching the ground, sometimes even higher. Practitioners who are assigned to do manual labor have to begin work at 5 a.m. and work until 9:30 p.m. They must be in bed by 10 p.m.. At each meal, regular criminals are given a bowl of rice, but Falun Gong practitioners are only permitted half a bowl of rice.
Besides torturing Falun Gong practitioners physically the police also extort money from the practitioners' family members, which they claim, are for living expenses. The "living expense" in the prison is set at four hundred yuan (6) a person per month. The families are not allowed to send any change of clothes, therefore, the practitioners are forced to buy their necessities from the prison store at very high prices. The police justified this corrupt practice by saying: "Ours is a cash based society." Here are some examples.
A bar of soap at a market price of one yuan costs six to seven yuan in the prison. Two small fish cost thirty yuan. It appears to be nice that practitioners can buy food and have meals together with one's family. However, the total time they are permitted to visit, including ordering meals and having a chat cannot exceed 20 minutes. When visiting family members come from a distance of thousands of kilometers, they have to wait until they are cleared, to assure that they are actual family members and that they do not practice Falun Gong. Only then are they allowed to see their loved ones, often for no more than ten minutes. Also, Falun Gong practitioners who either completed the prison term or whose term is almost over frequently not released or transferred to another prison or labor camp if they still refuse to renounce their belief in Falun Dafa.

12. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Policemen Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Feng Guiying is a resident of 13th Group, 12th Committee, Lingdong District, Shuangyashan City. She attained Falun Dafa in 1996. Her husband had contracted senile dementia (7) and his mind was not rational, however, through studying the Falun Dafa teachings and practicing the exercises his health was restored. Since July 20, 1999, when the Chinese government began to crack down on Falun Gong the local policemen Li Xinguo and Qu Yanhui went to Dafa practitioners' home to harass them. They confiscated Ms. Feng Guiying's Dafa books, exercises tapes and personal ID Card. The policemen arrested Ms. Feng and another practitioner Wang Shuxia, and took them to the Beishan Police Station to force them to give up their belief in Falun Gong. The two practitioners told the policemen, "We have not done anything wrong, we live our lives according to the principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" and try to be a good people.
The current head of Beishan Police Station Li Yanmin forced rookie policemen to go to Falun Gong practitioners' home to ask for signatures and photographs. However, these trainees failed to obtain any of these so Chief Li Yanmin flew into a rage and shouted insults, "If you fail to collect these items you will lose your jobs! These rookie policemen were in tears. On May 3, 2003 they went to search Ms. Feng Guiying's home, but did not find anything. Therefore, they took Ms. Feng to the Beishan Police Station. They tried to force her to write a guarantee statement. In the afternoon on the same day Qu Yanhui from the Beishan Police Station colluded with the Director of the Neighborhood Committee Zhang Haiying and three others. They carried an aged female Falun Dafa practitioner, named Chen Shuyun, against her will to the police car and took her to the Shuangyashan Detention Center, where they kept her for one year.

15. [Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province] Seventy-one-year Old Falun Dafa Practitioner, Ms. Huang Qiumei, Is Brutally Tortured by the Police
On October 11, 2003, when Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Huang Qiumei went to clarify the truth. She was reported by the person who is in charge of a nursing home in Yuantan. Within half an hour Li Wenhai, Xie Zebo, Gan Shan and others arrested Huang Qiumei and sent her to the detention center, where the old lady was punched and kicked. Her hands and legs were cuffed with six thick iron chains. It is really inhuman to torture a defenseless, kindly 71-year old female practitioner. She was detained for more than one month. Her thigh was hurt as a result of being kicked and her lower back was also injured.
16. [Zhengzhou City, Henan province] Searching for Falun Dafa Practitioner, Mr. Wang Wuxing, Who Has Disappeared During the Persecution
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Wuxing, originally from Zhengzhou City, Henan province, participated in the press conference of both Chinese and foreign journalists in Beijing at the end of October 1999. He disappeared on October 28, 1999. His whereabouts are still unknown.
17. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Searching for Practitioners from the City, who have Disappeared after Going to Beijing to Appeal for Falun Gong
Since July 20, 1999, the Jiang regime mobilized all the media in the county to assist in the persecution of Falun Gong and deprived practitioners of their constitutional rights of freedom of speech and to appeal injustice. In order to uphold the lawful rights of the citizens given by the Constitution and to protect Dafa and the innocence of the Teacher, practitioners in Shenzhou City traveled to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. More than thousand practitioners traveled to Beijing. There are two practitioners who disappeared on their way to Beijing. They were Ms. Li Xianghong and Ms. Da Gai. In 1999, Ms. Li Xianghong was 36 years old and employed at the laboratory of the Shenzhou City Hospital. She is 1.70 metres tall and holds a university degree. On July 22, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. At that time, Police guarded all roads to Beijing around the clock. Thus, Ms. Li Xianghong had to walk across the cropland. She disappeared about one hundred kilometers from Baoding City. Her whereabouts are unknown. Her family unsuccessfully searched for her in Baoding and Beijing. Another practitioner who also disappeared is Ms. Da Gai, 55 years old, and a farmer from Shaofu Village, Bingcao Township, Shenzhou City. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun gong during the summer of 2000, was separated from and lost touch with other fellow practitioners. Her family looked for her a few times but failed to find any trace of her whereabouts. These tragedies have resulted from the complete disregard of the Chinese constitution and the law, as well as the inhuman persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang and his political group. Da Gai's family is longing for her safe return.

1. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Du Weifeng Mnetally Collapses from Torture
On June 29, 2003, Dafa practitioner Mr. Du Weifeng, 28 years old, took two Dafa truth-clarifying letters to a post office. On the way there, officers from Lingyuan City's Xijiao Police Precinct arrested him and afterwards sentenced him to three years of forced labor. He was detained at Chaoyang City's Xidayingzi Forced Labor Camp. During his detention, policemen shocked him with electric batons and locked him up in a small cell for over twenty days. Due to this physical and mental anguish he experienced a mental collapse. On March 29, 2004, after nine-month of detention, policemen from the labor camp sent him back home, in very poor health.
2. [Liaoning Province] Practitioner Qi Fengjie Experiences a Mental Collapse Due to Torture in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
It has been reported that practitioner Qi Fengjie, who was arrested at Goubangzi last month, was tortured until suffering a mental collapse in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
3. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners are Tortured and Sentenced to Imprisonment
After officers from Shulan City's Police Department arrested practitioners Fu Hongwei, Zhao Jiran, Song Bing, and Song Yanqun on November 26, 2003, Zhang Zhimin, the female mayor of Shulan City, in collusion with policemen Xin He, Xiao Yong, Li Jiazhe and Li Zhuo, brutally tortured these four practitioners by hanging them up and force-feeding them hot spices or mustard powder in an attempt to force practitioners to denounce Falun Dafa.
These four practitioners are currently being held in Shulan City's Detention Center. The Shulan City Court dared not open the trial to the public according to judiciary procedures. Instead, they sentenced practitioners secretly. Song Bing was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment; Song Yanqun 12 years; Fu Hongwei 10 years; Zhao Jiran 10 years. The four practitioners appealed and staged a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Officers from the No.1 Section of Changchun City's Police Department Arrest Practitioners Wang Yuhuan and Zhao Xiaoqin and Torture Them to the Point of Becoming Disabled.
I am a Dafa practitioner from Changchun City. As I was injured, I was held at Changchun City's Forced Labor Camp Hospital. There I saw practitioners Ms. Wang Yuhuan and Ms. Zhao Xiaoqin who were arrested by people from the No.1 Section of the city's police department. After Wang was arrested, policeman Zhang Zhong and others brutally beat her and tied her to a "Tiger Bench" for five days. They hung her up and tortured her with all kinds of methods, such as pouring ice water on her head, blowing cigarette smoke into her eyes and nose, and poking her ears. Wang Yuhuan has been tortured severely and looks emaciated. She suffered from kidney disease and breast cancer. Ms. Zhao Xiaoqin had surgery on her head due to injuries received during the brutal torture, and she is in a coma. Both practitioners are currently being held at the labor camp hospital.

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Zhu Fenglan Dies -- Belated News
Practitioner Ms. Zhu Fenglan, in her 60's, was a retired worker from Harbin City's Storage Battery Factory, and lived in the factory residential area on Xianfeng Road, in the Nangang District, Harbin City. Zhu Fenglan had previously suffered from tuberculosis. In February 1999, after she had started to practice Falun Gong, her serious tuberculosis was cured.
On November 5, 2000, Zhu Fenglan went to Beijing to tell the government of her physical improvement, and that Falun Dafa is good, but she was arrested for doing so. After being held for a week in Beijing she was later transferred to the No.2 Detention Center in the Daoli District, Harbin City where she was detained for over 70 days and suffered tremendous physical and mental torture. Her husband and daughter borrowed over 7,000 Yuan (1) to give to relevant personnel and the detention center. Personnel from the detention center didn't release her until she was forced to write a so-called "Guarantee Statement" promising she would not practice Falun Gong anymore, which was against her will. Since then her family members didn't let her practice for fear that she would be arrested again.
After being tortured in the detention center, being extorted several thousand yuan and not being allowed to practice the Falun Dafa exercises, she couldn't take the pressure, even though she had regained her health from practicing Falun Gong. Her tuberculosis recurred. She was hospitalized many times but eventually passed away in March 2002.

6. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioners Shen Ruihua and Jia Jingwen Arrested for Hanging Dafa Banners
At around 4:00 a.m. on April 27, 2004, a taxi driver reported Dafa practitioners Shen Ruihua and Jia Jingwen from Jinzhou City to police while they were hanging up Dafa banners. Both were put into a detention center. In order to protest the illegal detention, they staged a hunger strike after their arrest. At present, Jia Jingwen has been sentenced to forced labor at Jinzhou City's Forced Labor Camp. Shen Ruihua has been on a hunger strike and is now so weak that s/he can't walk by her/himself. Police even sentenced Shen Ruihua to forced labor. While knowing the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp wouldn't accept her/him, they still refuse to release Shen Ruihua. Right now, Shen Ruihua is in an extremely dangerous condition.
It's said that another practitioner, Liu Wansheng, from Jinzhou City who was arrested on April 15 is also being held at Jinzhou City's Forced Labor Camp. He and Jia Jingwen are still staging hunger strikes.

7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Lu Jie Arrested at Hebei Normal University's Campus
Practitioner Mr. Lu Jie is about 25 years old. On April 28, 2004, personnel from the Guang'an Street Police Station arrested him in the computer room of the Math & Information Technology College, Eastern Campus at Hebei Province's Normal University. Police had monitored the network.

8. [Yanshi City, Henan Province] Dafa Practitioner Sun Yaoting Arrested While Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials
On the afternoon of April 26, 2004, Dafa practitioner Sun Yaoting from Sunpo Village, Goushi Town was reported to police while he was distributing truth-clarifying materials. He was later taken to the town police station. Sun Yaoting still had over 20 copies of truth-clarifying materials on him when arrested. He is now being held at Yanshi City's Detention Center.
In addition, practitioners Sun Yaoting, Zhang Xiang, Guo Jianhui, Cao Mengcai, Li Qiaohong and others are also being detained.
9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Zeng Xianzhi is Sentenced
Dafa practitioner Zeng Xianzhi lives in Zengzigou Village, Magang Township (former Wangbin Township), Xinchengzi District, Shenyang City. Personnel from former Wangbin Township's Police Station arrested and took him to the District Police Department and later sentenced him to three years of imprisonment at the Huazi Prison in Liaoyang City. He is still being held.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Bai Suju lives in Gulazi Village, Puhe Town (former Wangbin Township). As she persists in practicing cultivation, personnel from Puhe Town went to her house to arrest her in March 2003. Bai Suju managed to escape with the power of her righteous thoughts. She is still living in exile.
10. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Dafa Practitioner Nie Yinzhen's House is Ransacked
Prior to May 1, 2004, police ransacked Dafa practitioner Nie Yinzhen's home in the Panji District. Nie Yinzhen climbed over the wall and managed to escape while policemen Wang Huaijing, Xu Hong and a gang of policemen from the Political & Security Section, Panji District's Police Department, surrounded the place. The officers broke into and ransacked the place, confiscated Dafa books and other items of personal property. As I write this information, the police are still taking turns guarding all the entrances and exits around Nie Yinzhen's home.

11. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Dafa Practitioner Gao Shiquan is Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor
Practitioner Mr. Gao Shiquan is a 37-year-old farmer from Lujia Village, Huying Township. At around 11:00 p.m. on March 26, 2002, Gao Jiwu, leader of a brigade and a group of people from the township surrounded Gao Shiquan's house. They pushed Gao to the ground, and then threw him into a car. At the township police station they locked him to a metal chair. Early the next morning they put Gao in Shouguang City Party School Brainwashing Class. Gao was tortured severely and looks emaciated and pale. Forty days later, Gao was sent to Weifang City's Forced Labor Camp for three years of forced labor. He is still being held.
12. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Many Dafa Practitioners Arrested
At around 10:00 p.m. on February 26, 2004, under the leadership of Liu Keqiang, secretary of Qingzhou City's Committee, as well as personnel from Qingzhou City's Vice Squad collaborated with personnel from Koubuzhen Town's Police Station and broke into Dafa practitioner Wang Yuhong's home in Koubu Town. They turned the place upside down, confiscated a color TV, a VCD player and over 300 Yuan in cash. Five or six people held Wang Yuhong in a squatting position. Wang's wife Li Rongxiu was also pushed down. The couple was taken to the local police station and then transferred to Qingzhou City's Detention Center. Their family members are not allowed to visit them.
That same night, practitioner Xu Hongliang from Qianxu Village was also arrested and sent to police station all bundled up. He was later transferred to a detention center. His house was turned upside down and things had been looted. The police even used six vehicles and 15 to 20 people to arrest the single Dafa practitioner.
Also that same night, practitioner Dong Guiwen from Zhujia Village was sent to Koubu Town's Police Station and later transferred into a detention center.
More than a dozen people climbed over the wall and broke into practitioner Dong Liangzhi's house in Koubu Town twice in the middle of the night. They ransacked the place and turned it upside down.
On March 6, 2004, practitioner Zhao Tianxiu from Qianxu Village was arrested and taken to a brainwashing class.
At present, seven Dafa practitioners are being detained; several were forced to leave home and live in exile.
13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Arrest of Practitioners Liu Youqing and Ms. Peng
Practitioner Ms. Liu Youqing was arrested around April 26, 2004 by people from Qiaokou District's "610 Office" in Wuhan City, who collaborated with someone from the community office in the Chenjiadun subdivision. Pretending to check out the water-meter, they tricked Liu Youqing into opening the door and then took her away.
On April 30, 2004, practitioner Ms. Peng was arrested by personnel from Qiaokou District "610 Office," led by someone from the community office in the Chenjiadun subdivision and taken to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center.
14. [Beijing] Damage to a Dafa Truth Clarification Materials Site in Yanqing; Two Practitioners Arrested
During the evening of April 22, 2004, one truth clarification station in Yanqing County was searched and the practitioner couple were arrested: Ms. Xing Keli who worked in the Xinfeng Cafeteria; Mr. Zhou Xiong a teacher for the Yanqing County Teacher's Further Studies School. Their phone number: 86-10-69101521. Police confiscated a set of computers, two printers, one high-speed copying machine worth ten thousand Yuan, a box of CDs and other materials.
15. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Practitioner Zhang Cuiying Sentenced to Three and a-Half Years of Imprisonment
In March 2003, police arrested 56-year-old practitioner Ms. Zhang Cuiying from Ningbo City because she explained the facts of Falun Gong to the public. In December 2003, in a secret trial, she was sentenced to three years and six months of imprisonment.
16. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Arrests and Forced Labor for Several Practitioners.
During the evening of February 24, 2004, policemen from Shulan City's Police Department and Shulan City's Lianhua Township Police Precinct arrested practitioners Ms. Niu Yumin, Ms. Zhang Yuying and Ms. Fan Guofen when these practitioners were clarifying the truth in Lianhua Township. The three practitioners were sentenced to one year of forced labor and have been sent to Changchun City's Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp.
At around 5:00 a.m. on April 23, policemen from Jishu Town, Shulan City, ransacked the homes of several practitioners in Jishu Town. Several arrests followed, including Ms. Qi Xiumei, Ms. Liang Yunhua, Mr. Guo Yingchun, Ms. Lu Cuiying, Ms. Zhang Jinling and Ms.Li. The practitioners are being held in Shulan City's Detention Center.
17. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Arrest of Some Practitioners Prior to April 25
Prior to April 25, 2004, police in Guan County, Shandong Province arrested Dafa practitioners Zhang Fenghuan, Dong Fangyun, Dong Fangmei and ransacked their homes. They stole Dong's computer, copy machine and some Dafa books. Dong Fangyun's husband and daughter, who are not practitioners, were arrested as well but were released two days later. Details about Dong Fangyun and Dong Fangmei are unclear. Zhang Fenghuan is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
18. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Gao Diansheng Is Arrested
Dafa practitioners Gao Diansheng from Tianjia Town, Panjin City, worked as a cook. He is kind and considerate. When he worked temporarily at Lantai Hotel, he won appreciation and praise from his boss and colleagues, because he was upright, worked hard and wholeheartedly, and never considered his own loss or gain.
At 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on April 24, 2004, three plainclothes police from Panjin City's National Security Bureau broke into Lantai Hotel and took Gao Diansheng away from the kitchen. At the same time, they ransacked the storage room of the hotel and turned things upside down. They also ransacked Gao Diansheng's home, took away Dafa books and materials and related things for validating Dafa.
The next day, police from the National Security Bureau went to Lantai Hotel again and took away Gao Diansheng's newly bought motorcycle. Now Gao Diansheng is being held at Panjin City's Detention Center, and has been suffering persecution for nine days. His wife and a five-year-old boy are left at home without being taken care of. The situation is critical.

19. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Ye Ximing Is Again Arrested For Painting Dafa Signs
Dafa practitioner Ye Ximing from Xi'an Township, Dawa County, Panjin City, was again arrested for painting Dafa signs. Due to the information blockade, the whereabouts of Ye Ximing are unknown. Following is more information regarding the persecution in this area: The facts regarding policeman Zhang Mingjiang's brutal abuse have been exposed. He is the director of Dawa County's Xi'an Police Precinct, Panjin City, Liaoning Province who has savagely abused several Dafa practitioners in violation of the Chinese constitution. Zhang Mingjiang, was not repentant, however, but personally went to the Dawa County Police Department to request an escalation of the persecution.
20. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioner Wang Di Is Seriously Injured; Jumps from the Fifth Floor; Other Have Varying Injuries; Police Department Deceives Families and Attempts to Shirk Responsibility
At 3:00 p.m. on April 10, 2004, near Dehui City's east crossroads bridge, several policemen from the Changchun City Police Department and from the Dehui City Police Department surrounded the residence of Dafa practitioners Ms. Wang Di, Mr. Sun Dawei and Ms. Zhao Jianjuan. They blocked the entrance and pounded on the door to break into the house. In order to avoid illegal arrest, the three practitioners chose to jump from the fifth floor. Sun Dawei suffered head injuries and fractured ribs. Wang Di's legs suffered open fractures. She also sustained a compressed lumbar vertebrae fracture. Zhao Jianjuan's ribs were fractured. It was learned that the three Dafa practitioners were sent to Dehui City's Central Hospital on that day. On the second day they were sent to the Changchun City Forced Labor Camp's Hospital.
Wang Di was injured so severely that she was extremely weak and could not move. She couldn't take care of herself. In spite of that, she was still handcuffed on a bed when she got intravenous injections. Police even left her handcuffed at night. It was reported that in order to resist the persecution, Wang Di kept shouting, "Falun Dafa is Good," "Falun Dafa is the Righteous Fa," and she requested her unconditional release.
Two weeks later, Dehui City Police Department personnel deceived Wang Di's father that they would release Wang Di and needed his signature. But when they sent Wang Di back home, what they gave him turned out to be a file for being bailed out for later trial. Furthermore, policemen gave no reason to Wang's family for their change of mind. Currently, Wang Di cannot even turn over on her own. She completely depends on her family for all her needs and care. A large sum of money is need for her treatment. When will she be able to stand up or recover? Her aged parents and relatives are very anxious.
It was heard that Wang Di was brought back from the Changchun City Forced Labor Camp's Hospital by people from the Political and Security Section of Dehui City's Police Department, but it was actually her cousin Liu, the Guangming Police Precinct chief, who sent her back home. When Wang Di entered the village, many villagers and relatives went to see her and all urged Wang Di's family to bring the criminals to justice.

21. [Jilin Province] Jilin Province Prison Blocks the Information about Dafa Practitioners Being Brutally Beaten
Jilin Province Prison blocks all communication from getting in or getting out. They didn't allowed Dafa practitioners to see their families to prevent the truth from getting out. It was said by someone who knew the inside story that as each Dafa practitioner arrived at the prison, the policemen would instruct the most vicious prisoners to beat him. Some were even beaten so severely they remained unconscious for three days. Dafa practitioner Guo Peijun's back were seriously injured. Dafa practitioner Xin Yuanjun was detained at the prison's hospital for persecution. Dafa practitioners detained there were all very firm in their belief, although they were not allowed to read Master's new articles.

Facts of the Persecution
1. On April 21, 2004 Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Mingyan from Huludao City, Liaoning Province made a phone call from a public phone booth. Apparently, the call was monitored for Falun Dafa content, because she was abducted by a group of approximately 8 policemen shortly after she ended the call. They took her to the State Security Ward and later transferred her to the Jinjiao Township Police Substation in Lianshan District.
She was then transferred to the Masanjia Labor camp the next day to serve a three year sentence. Her blood pressure became abnormal, after she went on a hunger strike for 13 days without food or water. Upon examination, the camp doctor discovered that she had gallstones. The Labor Camp Administration forced her family to pay a 5000 yuan "security deposit," before releasing her for a month's "vacation" to receive medical treatment.
2. In July 2003, Ms. Ren Liyun and two other practitioners were sent to the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha City. After one week, they were transferred to the Furong District Brainwashing Class. On March 8, 2004, Ms. Ren was returned to the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center to repeat the class.
3. On May 9, 2004, a practitioner, Ms. Ma Xiane from Changsha City, Hunan Province, was abducted by the police. Her whereabouts are currently unknown. She works for the Huoxing Town government, Furong District, Changsha City, and lives in Yangjiashan, Changsha City.
4. In 2001, Falun Dafa practitioners, Mr. Geng Jicai and his wife, Wang Minxue, from Xinzhuang Village, Zhangduangu Township, Wuji County, Hebai Province, left their home to avoid arrest. On March 22, 2004, they returned home secretly, but were reported to the Town Police Station Director, Ge Jianqiang. He abducted and held them in the Wuji County Detention Center.
5. Recently, police in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, together with "610 Office" personnel, arrested several practitioners. Mr. Lin Rongtong (in his 50's) was abducted from his home and sent to the Sanshui Labor Camp Brainwashing Class. Another practitioner, a medical doctor, was also arrested.
