[China] Practitioners Successfully Hold an Experience Sharing Conference in a Northern Capital City
At the beginning of the year 2004, Dafa practitioners received "Master's New Year's Day 2004 Greeting to Dafa Disciples." In a northern capital city, some Dafa practitioners broke through the heavy blockade and obstacles to successfully hold an experience-sharing conference along with a few other practitioners from another city.
In the experience sharing conference, the visiting practitioners related their own experiences of righteous thoughts and righteous actions, including:
1. Studying the Fa in a group environment;
2. Clarifying the truth to people face-to-face;
3. Realizing the magnificent power of sending righteous thoughts collectively;
4. Exposing the local evildoers to the local people.
Since a large number of provincial departments and units are involved in persecuting Dafa in that capital, practitioners exposed the evildoers in these places, such as the Provincial Forced Labor Bureau, the Political & Judiciary Committee, the Provincial "610 Office,*" the Provincial Police Department, the Bureau of Justice, the Forced Labor Committee, the Provincial Forced Labor Camp, Prison, Detention Center, Prison Hospital, Mental Hospital, and also to all kinds of brainwashing classes that directly persecute Dafa practitioners. Practitioners realized that we must persistently send righteous thoughts, everyday, regarding those departments to clean out the evil behind them in other dimensions, and agreed to collectively send righteous thoughts at 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 p.m. everyday in addition to the normal times for sending righteous thoughts.
Those who have turned away from Dafa as a result of the persecution also need practitioners' compassionate help and persistent righteous thoughts. Practitioners realized that as long as the Fa-rectification is not yet over, there are opportunities for those who have gone astray to make amends.
Another topic involved working on letting go of human notions and the attachment to fear, and letting go of a selfish and narrow self-protection mentality is breaking old forces' arrangements. Walking a righteous path is the key of offering salvation to sentient beings.
From this conference, the practitioners realized the importance of cooperation and coordination as one body. Practitioners further understood that time is very precious and pressing, and had a clearer understanding of our responsibilities and missions. Practitioners realized the old force's time is up, and it's Teacher's boundless benevolence that is keeping all sentient beings in existence.
Practitioners collectively sent righteous thoughts before the meeting was concluded. Two of the practitioners witnessed magnificent and unusual flowers being cast from above. This has strengthened our practitioners' determination and courage to strive forward in cultivation and assisting Teacher during the Fa-rectification.
*610 Office: an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Excruciating Police Torture Causes Mental Breakdown for Practitioner Ms. Wu Meijuan
Dafa practitioner Ms. Wu Meijuan from Dalian City is 40 years old. She lives at No.2, 7th Floor, Gate 1, Chunliu Xinhua Book Store and sells stationary on the 5th floor in the Chunliu Commercial Building. At 6:40 p.m. on January 20, 2003, personnel from Beigangqiao Street's Administrative Committee abducted her while she was posting Dafa truth-clarifying signs and sent her to the Huanghe Road Police Station. Policemen there tortured her with excruciating methods in order to force her to reveal the source of the materials. They beat Wu Meijuan into unconsciousness, and then even said that she was faking it. They continued to beat her until she had a mental breakdown. She could not recognize her child, husband, family members or anybody else. That same day her home was ransacked twice, and she was sent to the Yaojia Detention Center. The police are planning to send her to a mental hospital later.

[Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Xu Baowen Has Been on a Hunger Strike for 22 Days
Officers from the Security Team of the Liaohe Oil Field Police Precinct arrested practitioner Xu Baowen. He had been forced into exile from Chaoyang City to avoid the persecution and was captured in Panjin City, Liaoning Province. He is now detained at the Liaohe Oil Field Detention Center and has been on a hunger strike for 22 days to protest the persecution.

[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Practitioners Dong Yiran and Li Caixia
Mr. Dong Yiran, 43 years old, was an employee from the No. 1 Technique Section of the Criminal Division/Shenyang City Police Department. On January 20, 2004, he was arrested near Liaoning Province's Public Security Bureau and was ruthlessly tortured.
On January 14, 2004, policemen from the Tiexi Police Precinct arrested 50-year-old practitioner Ms. Li Caixia and confiscated her computer, printer and some other property. Her whereabouts are unknown.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Persecution Accounts from Harbin City Prison
Perpetrators in Harbin City Prison have applied many methods to torture Falun Gong practitioners. They deprived practitioners of sleep, poured cold water on practitioners during the winter, put practitioners in handcuffs and shackles, and urged criminals to beat practitioners around the clock. They also rewarded those policemen who forced practitioners to give up Falun Gong practice with 500 Yuan**. They blocked coerced the criminals not to release any information, otherwise, the criminals would be locked up separately or their imprisonment terms would be extended.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Arrest of Two Practitioners
In the beginning of November 2003, practitioner Ms. Gao Limei from the Caidian District in Wuhan City was arrested while clarifying the truth about Dafa. Police put her into a brainwashing class and threatened her that her son could not go to school unless she gave up Falun Gong. The "610 Office" personnel promised that as soon as Dafa practitioner Ms. Gao would write the "guarantee statement," to announce giving up Falun Gong, they would release her, so she wrote it. However, she was then sentenced to one year of forced labor. As practitioners, we should resist the persecution at any time with righteous thoughts and righteous actions, and refuse too let the old forces latch on to any excuse to persecute us.
On December 4, 2003, police arrested Ms. Lin Jianhua from the Caidian District in Wuhan City and ransacked her home for her clarifying the truth about Dafa to the public. Afterwards, police sent her to a brainwashing class. Lin's husband eventually found out she was on a hunger strike at the brainwashing class. Two days later, police put her into a detention center. On Jan. 18, 2004 she was sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Ping Yurong from Lutai Town, Ninghe County, Tianjin City has practiced Falun Dafa since 1995. She is strict with herself to conduct herself as a good person and has won a good reputation among local people. But because of Jiang's regime persecuting Falun Gong, she has been detained since 2001. Her detention term has been extended once again because she refused to give up her belief and also refused to write the so-called "Guarantee Statement"[Guarantees not to practice cultivate Falun Gong anymore, expressing regret at having practiced at all, and promises not to associate with other practitioners and not to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa].
