Further Information on the Inhuman Abuse Suffered by Practitioner Mr. Cheng Peiming at Daqing Prison (Photos)

December 06, 2004 |   By a Dafa practitioner from Daqing City

(Clearwisdom.net) Cheng Peiming, a Falun Dafa practitioner, was jailed in the Sixth Prison Section of Daqing Prison, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. Because he refused to renounce Falun Dafa, for the past month he has been shut in a small cell and repeatedly beaten by prisoners. Mr. Cheng was also hung up by his hands from the ceiling in the small cell.

On November 9, 2004, Cheng Peiming's seventy-year-old mother, who had not seen her son for five years, made a special trip of about 1,300 miles to see her son. The prison director refused to let her see him. Under the adamant request of the mother, Cheng Peiming was allowed to see his mother for less than a minute. Before the son and mother even had a chance to talk, the police dragged Cheng Peiming away and returned him to the small cell.

In the afternoon on November 16, 2004, the handcuffs used to hang Mr. Cheng broke, and he fell to the floor. At this point, Mr. Cheng could bear the abuse and suffering no longer and in desperation and to protest the persecution, as soon as he stood up, he knocked his head against the glass cell door, resulting in a 4-cm-long laceration on his head. He then cut his wrists with the broken glass. He also tried to swallow a razor blade and an iron nail. He then lost consciousness and fell to the floor. [Editors' note: The teachings of Falun Gong forbid killing, including committing suicide and self-injury. Although in some cases people under severe torture will seek to end their life in an attempt to escape the mental and physical suffering, as Dafa disciples, we ought to clearly remember that we are practitioners at every moment. We must treasure our life and avoid thinking and behaving in an extreme and irrational manner. The fact that Mr. Chen felt driven to such behavior underscores the horror of this persecution.]

On November 17 at 4 p.m., Cheng Peiming underwent surgery. He is extremely weak.
