While Falun Gong practitioners around the globe are preparing to bring charges against Jiang Zemin and his "610 Office," Australian artist Ms. Cuiying Zhang also wished to bring an individual action against Jiang Zemin. World-renowned lawyer and human rights campaigner Geoffrey Robertson has agreed to assist her with the prosecution.

According to New Tang Dynasty Television and the Gold Coast Bulletin, a Chinese woman who lives on the Gold Coast is the focus of a Falun Gong related human rights lawsuit. This suit has been scheduled for a hearing at the United Nations. This woman is the 40-year-old Ms. Cuiying Zhang. She will describe to the UN how Jiang's regime tortured her.

World-renowned lawyer and human rights campaigner Geoffrey Robertson QC will work together with famous Australian human rights lawyers Chris Nyst and Jason Murakami, and help Cuiying Zhang file a lawsuit at the UN against Jiang Zemin, the former leader of China.

On March 5, 2000, while on her way to the People's Congress in Beijing to make an appeal for Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang was stopped by the police, who then searched her bag. They found a letter she wrote to the then Chinese Premier. So they arrested her on the spot. She spent eight months in a Chinese prison where she was subjected to inhumane treatment, including physical torture, humiliation, and even being thrown into a male criminals' cell.

Ms. Zhang's plight has received widespread attention from major media around the world. After she was released, she traveled the world to hold art exhibitions for the purpose of exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in China. So far she has held exhibitions in over 40 cities around the globe.

The assistance from Geoffrey Robertson QC will have significant influence upon the lawsuits against Jiang Zemin worldwide. At present, Falun Gong practitioners in Canada and England are considering suing Jiang Zemin. Other high-ranking Chinese officials who have participated in the persecution of Falun Gong, such as vice director of Hubei Provincial Public Security Bureau Zhao Zhifei, and former Beijing Mayor Liu Qi, and Lt. Governor of Liaoning Province, Xiao Deren, have already been convicted in US courts.
