Long-Long was born in an ordinary rural family in Sichuan province in 1992. The whole family was happy to learn Dafa in 1996 and began cultivating.
At the age of four, Long-Long played silently while adults studied the Fa nearby. Sometimes, he sat and listened to Fa study. When they practiced the exercises, he followed along, and his hand movements were quite good. Dafa was spreading fast, and there were more and more people wanting to learn the exercises. With too few Falun Dafa practitioners around, people began asking Long-Long to teach them. Although he was only five years old, he taught the exercises to more than twenty people. The whole family led a life of happiness and kindness, and was admired by the neighbors.
At the end of 1999, Long-Long's father went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa. He was arrested and held in a detention center and suffered brutal torture. In 2000, the police ransacked his home in search of truth clarification materials. He fled while Long-Long's mother delayed them. She was then taken to a detention center.
With the help of fellow practitioners, eight-year-old Long-Long carried a board on his chest, which read, "Where is the heavenly principle? Give us justice!" A second board carried on his back read, "I want my mother!" He walked from one end of the street to the other. There was a fair that day, with a lot of people around. They all came up to see. Assuming that he was asking for money, some dropped money for Long-Long. He said to them, "I am not asking for money. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. We don't ask for money. My mother was arrested, and my father was forced to leave home. I want my father, and I want my mother!"
Before this happened Long-Long's mother had not been a very diligent practitioner, but she joined fellow practitioners in a hunger strike to protest against the persecution. Since she was detained for protecting Long-Long's father, she was interrogated after three days of hunger strike. The prison guards told her she would be released if she began to eat. In front of all the other practitioners in the cell, they claimed that she had cursed Teacher and Dafa. The practitioners appeared surprised, and she fell onto the bed in tears of anguish. Several days later, the prison guards interrogated her again. They told her that she would be released immediately if she condemned Master and Falun Dafa in front of all the detainees. Getting impatient, the guards slammed the door and left, just as she shouted, "I want to..." Excited, they opened the door to hear her calmly and steadfastly proclaim, "I am sorry to Master and Dafa because I was not diligent before. But from today on, I want to be a genuine Falun Dafa disciple of Teacher!" The prison guards became enraged, cursing loudly and telling her that they would keep her there forever, but she felt a strong sense of relief after a good cry. Ten minutes later, the prison guards told her to pack up and released her. This was on the second day of Long-Long's solitary protest on the street. In order to avoid persecution, she had to leave home as her husband did. Long-Long was under the care of his grandmother and aunt.
While his parents suffered persecution, his home was illegally ransacked several times. Long-Long often put Zhuan Falun, other Dafa books, articles, and truth clarification flyers in his school bag, carrying it to and from school. His teacher had a talk with him and asked him to promise not to practice Falun Gong like his parents when he grows up. Looking calmly at the teacher, Long-Long said, "Falun Gong teaches people to be kind, to practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, and to be good people. My parents are not wrong. I will also practice Falun Gong and be a good person when I grow up." With nothing more to say, the teacher stopped asking him questions.
Long-Long's parents were forced to leave home in 2002, leading a life of exile for a year now. Long-Long lived with his grandmother first, then his aunt. One day on his way home from school, a speeding motorcycle knocked him down and sent his school bag flying. The crowd of onlookers stopped the driver to ensure justice for the boy, but Long-Long got up and said to the driver, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner. I am fine. You can go." The crowd was touched by his innocence and righteousness, and remarked that the motorcyclist had met a noble person.
Long-Long's parents recently went home to see him. His mother saw as he looked at her watch. She told him, "I use this watch when I send forth righteous thoughts. If you want to have it, I can give it to you, but you must remember to send forth righteous thoughts." Long-Long looked at his mother and said solemnly, "I will remember to send forth righteous thoughts."
Someone once told him, "Long-Long, both your father and mother have abandoned you. How pitiful you are!" He answered, "My father and mother are good people. They love me. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. I am not to be pitied at all."
