What Is the Purpose of Suing Jiang Zemin?
Teacher said in the article "Clearheadedness" (Falun Dafa Essentials For Further Advancement):
Any work in Dafa is intended for people to obtain the Fa and for disciples to improve themselves. Anything other than these two points is meaningless.""
The last two times when Jiang Zemin went abroad, Dafa disciples around the world sent forth righteous thoughts intensively to eliminate the evil. However, some practitioners sent righteous thoughts with very strong intentions. Since the persecution had been lasting for so long, they were hoping to eradicate the evil sooner so as to create a peaceful period. In my view, they still had the mentality of not wanting to endure any more tribulation and expecting the whole thing to end soon. At that time, I felt this notion was a bit extreme, but I did not have a clear understanding from the perspective of the Fa. So I also put my focus on sending forth righteous thoughts, while putting off the Fa-study and truth-clarification. I suppose some overseas practitioners also had such problems, as there was a lot of interference then, such as practitioners being denied the right to boarding the plane and enter certain countries (of course, there could be other reasons as well).
Now more than one year has passed. The lawsuit against Jiang has been in progress for a long time. We should have gained a clear understanding of the lawsuit issue. However, the last ditch struggle of the evil also caused a lot of interference. For example, many practitioners are indifferent to this matter. If we don't understand this matter from the Fa, we won't be able to break through all the interference.
I would like to thank overseas practitioners' reminder and call for sending forth righteous thoughts in support of the lawsuit. Recently I have paid more attention to the interference and improper state of mind.
How Have We Been Doing In Support of the Lawsuit?
I found that some practitioners, including myself, are not only indifferent to the lawsuit, but also indifferent to many other things. For example, we are numb to the persecution of overseas practitioners such as Charles Li, thinking that we are already being persecuted and don't have the energy to care about the overseas practitioners. As I see it, we rely too much on external factors. Below are just a few examples:
- We count on overseas practitioners to help eliminate the evil.
- Practitioners who stay home rely on practitioners who have been going from place to place to provide truth-clarification materials. In our area, the majority of the truth-clarification materials came from the production sites established by homeless practitioners. However, recently many sites have been damaged, leading to a shortage of materials.
- Practitioners who can't step forward rely on practitioners who have been diligent in Fa-rectification to help them.
- Local practitioners prefer to pass out Dafa materials in other areas, while at the same time, they count on out-of-town practitioners to help distribute materials in their area. As a result, even neighbors and colleagues of practitioners do not know the facts about Falun Gong.
- Some practitioners who consider themselves diligent do not want to help practitioners who fall behind or don't want to step forward to validate the Fa, using the excuses such as "I am busy with Fa-rectification work," or "I am clarifying the truth." These practitioners are not studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth with their hearts. They are merely doing the three things on the surface. When faced with various forms of interference, they can't come to a clear understanding from the perspective of Fa, and are entangled with details and human sentimentality.
The lawsuit filed against Jiang overseas is intended to expose and eliminate the evil, and to create a better environment for Dafa disciples around the world to form one body to clarify the truth in a more comprehensive manner, thus saving more sentient beings. If we, as Fa-rectification Dafa disciples, do not consider ourselves the leading actors of this play, and if we always feel hopeless like everyday people and rely on governments or human rights organizations to seek justice for us, then we haven't truly melted into the Fa. We shall cultivate within the Fa; otherwise, we will miss the opportunity to save sentient beings. When the truth is revealed in the future, what's left to us is only regret.
Therefore, bringing Jiang to justice is not just an isolated Dafa project, nor is it just a matter of practitioners in China collaborating with overseas practitioners in sending forth righteous thoughts. In order to do this well, we need to elevate as one body.
As Dafa disciples in China, the main body of Dafa disciples, how should we view this lawsuit? Have we already realized the importance of this lawsuit? Have we spread the news of the lawsuit to everyday people so that the evil has no room to hide? Have we truly considered this lawsuit our own matter? Have we done our best to eliminate interference created by the old forces?

I've said that mankind has come to a point today where everything is deteriorating, everything in the whole society and in the universe is becoming corrupt, one thing after another, and everything that happens to ordinary people is their own doing. It's even hard to find a true teaching and follow a true way--interference comes from all directions."("Buddha Image Consecration," Lecture Five, Zhuan Falun)
SARS is a good talking point when we clarify the truth to everyday people. However, the quarantine makes it difficult for us to distribute Dafa materials, as many residential areas require visitors to show ID. Isn't this situation caused by our relying on external factors? Have we not let down tens of thousands of years of waiting by sentient beings in our local area? Have we let everyone around us know that "Falun Dafa is good"?
One practitioner said that the great Dao is formless but we are one body. This one body is not established through our waiting and relying on others, but rather it is formed by every Dafa disciple taking the initiative to participate and contribute selflessly. I hope that every one of us can take the lawsuit as our own responsibility, and truly put Dafa as our first priority and do well the three things with our hearts, so as not to let down Teacher's compassionate salvation, and not to let down the hope sentient beings have in us.
