Twisted Logic: Chinese Police Combine 72 Means of Physical Torture and 36 Means of Psychological Torture to Make a "Menu of One Hundred and Eight Dishes"

I started practicing Falun Dafa in May, 1996. My body has become healthy and my thoughts have become noble as well. Falun Dafa has given me a whole new life. I am only one a hundred million of people who have benefited from Falun Dafa.

After 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners appealed in Beijing peacefully on April 25, 1999, the illegal persecution followed. In 1999, my company fired me without reason. The National Security Bureau also called me over to "have a conversation." On July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime started to slander Falun Dafa and its founder, Li Hongzhi. On July 22, Falun Dafa practitioners went to provincial governments to peacefully appeal and were forcefully driven to the suburbs by the public security police. Late at night a large scale illegal arrest of Falun Dafa practitioners began.

At the end of 1999, facing unfair treatment, unreasonable persecution, and having nowhere to report, I went to Tiananmen Square to appeal peacefully. A police vehicle immediately appeared. Police seized and beat me, and I was brought to the Tiananmen local police station. I was escorted back by municipal government personnel and the local police, and was put into the city detention center for 1 month. Police snatched the 160 Yuan I had with me. In the detention center, the prison guard directed criminal prisoners to beat me brutally. I was hit and knocked out twice. When falling down, I knocked over a pot of boiling tea on a stove causing my leg to become seriously burned. Burns and blisters the size of eggs were all over my leg. After 3 days, yellow watery pus came out, and my leg became infected. My pants stuck tightly to my leg. Criminal prisoners even sprinkled salt on my wounds to inflict further pain.

Seventy two methods of physical torture and thirty six methods of psychological torture here were called "one hundred and eight dishes." Looting practitioners' money and goods was called "extracting oil." Besides eating the food, the bulk of the stolen money and goods were given to the police. Since I was unable to stand the brutal torture, I wrote "three letters" [promising not to practice Falun Gong, stating regret over practicing in the past, declaring separation from Falun Gong] against my will. Prison guards forced me to appear on a television interview to say something drafted by the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] slandering Falun Dafa. The National Security Bureau then extorted 5000 Yuan from my father (equal to one year of my father's pension) before allowing me go home.

In July, 2000 I went to Beijing to appeal again and was imprisoned for 35 days after being illegally escorted back to my hometown. Non-practitioner inmates knocked me out twice. My ribs were hit and one broken. On Chinese New Year's Day of 2001, police and personnel from National Security Bureau broke into the homes of practitioners, seizing more than 80 of us. They forced us to stay in brainwashing classes and imprisoned us in the city detention center and drug rehab center. In the drug rehab center, I was forced to stay with people who took drugs. Prison guards forced me to smoke, clean the courtyard, run long-distance, be brainwashed, and sleep with infectious prisoners. Prison guards used wooden boards to hit female Falun Dafa practitioners who demanded to be released. They were even brutally force fed. Practitioners who refused to write the "three letters" were taken to forced labor camps by National Security Bureau personnel.
