Jane Dai is an Australian-Chinese widow and mother to her almost 3 year-old daughter. Jane Dai's husband was tortured to death in China in 2001 because he practiced Falun Gong and had appealed to the Chinese government to stop killing and persecuting innocent people. Jane Dai visited Bangkok for three days in January to help more people learn about the severe persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

A few days before the arrival of Ms. Dai, a practitioner from Bangkok faxed out a press release to over 40 Western news agencies in Bangkok. Another practitioner made follow up calls to make appointments. Many of the reporters expressed their concern and support. Some of them also gave us contact information for other reporters that might be interested. Over the three days of Ms. Dai's visit, we went to talk with and give information packages to as many reporters as possible.

We had the understanding that just talking to media even 10 minutes would help them a lot to understand the situation with Falun Gong and the persecution. We went with the heart of only wanting to let them meet Jane Dai and learn the true situation of Falun Gong and the persecution in China.

During these three days we got two long interviews each day, with equal attention from both the Western and Thai media.

One Thai-British reporter from a large international agency did a long interview. He knew hardly anything about Falun Gong before the interview, so he had many questions about the practice as well as to Jane Dai about her story. He took time to meet with Jane Dai with just a short notice and although he was very pressed for time.

A Swedish radiobroadcasting reporter interviewed Jane. His one-hour program, which came out very well, was broadcast all over Sweden one day later.

One reporter did an interview from an Asian broadcasting corporation. He had been interested in learning more about Falun Gong for a long time.

Another reporter from the Finnish central news agency did an interview. He had not reported on Falun Gong prior to this interview. His article was to be sent out to all Finnish media.

There were other reporters that were interested to meet Jane Dai, but couldn't because at that time they were doing some work outside Thailand. However, one reporter from a Thai newspaper was able to conduct a long interview with Jane, which helped her to understand the situation better and also learn the truth about the persecution.

These three days were very precious to us. We have learned a lot from Jane Dai's compassion to all beings, her endurance and great devotion to help the people in China.

Bangkok has many international media agencies and this was a good chance for them to meet with Jane Dai. By now she has already visited 24 countries. She has unselfishly devoted all her time to travel around the world to let more people know about the tremendous suffering of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Miss Jane Dai and her daughter Fadu, who is now almost three years old, work very well as a team. Fadu follows her mother everywhere. Jane Dai and her little daughter touch the hearts of all the people they meet. Whoever hears her story will certainly be able to understand the true picture of Falun Gong and the persecution in China.
