[Raoyang County, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Yang Zhongshen, Beaten and Crippled by Police, Illegally Sentenced to Two-Year Jail Term
Yang Zhongshen, from Kongjundao Village in Raoyang County, Hebei Province, was arrested for distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. In a short time he escaped police control with his righteous thoughts and then became destitute and homeless in order to avoid repeated illegal detention. One year later, in October 2002, police from Xushui County, Baoding District, Hebei Province, arrested him again. Because he remained firm in his belief and resolutely resisted the evils, the police beat him mercilessly, crippling one of his legs. In order to shift the responsibility, police in Xushui County asked the police department in Raoyang County to take him back. He was illegally sentenced to two years in jail and is being detained in Shijiazhuang City.
[Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Illegally Detained
Xichang practitioner Guo Bing, female, is 42 years old. In March 2002, she was illegally detained and sentenced to two years at a forced labor camp for distributing truth-clarifying materials. She is in very poor health, unable to walk or take care of herself. The results of a medical examination prescribed a stay in a hospital for treatment. Police officer Liu Jianying, however, ignored the prescription, and Guo Bing is still being detained in the Tuohuang Detention House in Xichang City.
Xichang practitioner Zhang Tianyu, female, is 55 years old. On January 13, 2003, she was illegally arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials. Currently she is also being detained in the Tuohuang Detention House in Xichang City.
Xichang practitioner Li Zonghui, female, is 60 years old. She was illegally sentenced to one year at a forced labor camp. Presently she is being detained in the Mapingba Substance Abuse Treatment Facility.

[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Illegally Detained High School Teacher Wang Keng
Wang Keng is a 20-year-old high school teacher from the Fangcun District of Guangzhou City. In September 2001, she was arrested at a post office in Yuexiu District while mailing truth-clarifying materials to fellow practitioners in her hometown. That same evening, she was sent to the Fangcun Detention House for interrogation. Without any legal trial, she was sent to the No.3 Team of the Chini Forced Labor Camp in Huadu the next day. She is still in detention now.
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Yunchao Is Arrested Again After Two Years of Illegal Forced Labor "Re-education"
Liu Yunchao, a 45-year-old practitioner from Wuhan City, was sentenced to two years at a forced labor camp because he has remained firm in his cultivation of Falun Dafa. In the labor camp, he was subjected to all means of torture. For 35 days he was handcuffed and suspended so that his feet couldn't touch the ground. Long-term detention in solitary confinement so affected his eyesight that now he can only see things up to one meter away. Both his legs are so permanently injured that he is unable to walk. In spite of his condition, after completion of his labor camp term, he was sent to a brainwashing center for over a month before he was released. Barely a month later, on January 6, 2003, Liu Yunchao, now nearly blind, again was forcibly sent to the brainwashing center again.
[Hefei City, Anhui Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Zhang Lingzhi And Wen Yan Illegally Arrested
In early November 2002, Zhang Lingzhi was secretly arrested on her way home. Also, practitioner Wen Yan was arrested in her home when police broke down her steel theft-proof door with axes and forcibly took her away. For resisting this illegal behavior her mother was taken to the detention center as well, but she was released after staging a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. The current whereabouts of the two practitioners is unknown.
[Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Incidents of Sabotage by Special Agents
Not long ago, several Falun Dafa truth-clarifying material sites in Chengdu City were damaged, one after the other, causing a great loss to Dafa. According to internal sources, some of the site locations were reported by people pretending to be Falun Dafa practitioners. These special agents appear to cultivate very diligently, and ask for lots of materials, which they "distribute" very quickly. Soon after coming into contact with these imposters, however, practitioners would be arrested and material sites damaged. The special agents would be arrested as well, but quickly released. After their release, they would make up a story, deceiving other practitioners with their story of "firmly breaking through tribulations."
