A "Transformed" Practitioner's Words Do Not Represent Her True Heart

October 29, 2003 |   By a practitioner in China

On August 23, 2003, Shijiazhuang Daily (a newspaper in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province) published an account by Liang Yening of her so-called transformation process. Here I would like to expose the facts about Liang Yening that I am aware of as her friend. The newspaper article was written about Liang Yening after intensive brainwashing and torture and is not a valid representation of Liang's character. I would like to protect innocent readers from being deceived by the false report.

Liang used to practice Buddhism. She was married to her "school sweetheart." In 1994, she learned Falun Dafa. Before the illegal suppression of Falun Gong began, Liang and her husband shared mutual trust and understanding that was envied by their friends.

Days before Liang Yening was arrested on October 12, 1999, she was still talking with her husband who was then away on business. At that time her husband consoled her and supported her saying, "No matter what decision you make, I respect your choice." "Real love shows at hard times." Their story once moved many of their friends.

However, in the article published by the Shijiazhuang Daily she said her husband told her not to practice Falun Dafa any more and that she replied, "I'd rather divorce you than give up my practice."

Liang's home situation comprised her father-in-law who was bedridden, her three year old son, and her husband who was frequently away on business. They hired a nanny to help take care of things.

The nanny once told me a story: The nanny discovered one day that Liang's mother-in-law told someone that the nanny ate the toddler's snacks on the sly. The nanny was very upset on hearing this accusation, but she remembered at that time that Liang told her that one needs to be tolerant, and use the standard of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance" to conduct oneself, so she did not argue with the mother-in-law nor try to clarify things.

A couple of days later, the old lady blamed her again straight to her face. Again she felt greatly insulted and was ready to explode, but she thought of Liang's peacefulness and kindness. So she held back, and only said: "No, I didn't," and turned around weeping without letting others know. The nanny told Liang what had happened when she came home that night. Liang told her: "You behaved so wonderfully. Why did you cry?" The nanny said: "I cried because I was touched. I was touched by my being able to behave so well. It was totally impossible in the past. I am learning it all from you."

Under Liang's influence, everyone at home became tolerant and forgiving, and conflicts were quickly resolved. It became a very harmonious family. The nanny and the mother-in-law all began to practice Falun Dafa, while supporting Liang's practice whole-heartedly.

In prison, Liang was totally isolated, while being forced to listen to brainwashing and slandering of Falun Gong continuously. In the news article Liang cited that she questioned the truth of the "Tiananmen self-immolation incident," the "April-25th peaceful appeal," and the true facts regarding Teacher's "change of birth date." These three cases have been used by Jiang's regime to twist and slander the truth and deceive the world, yet the truth regarding these incidents have been fully revealed to the world.

Liang has been deprived of basic human rights, isolated from friends, family, and the outside world. In a free environment, she would have her normal judgments based on rationality and the lies against Falun Gong and its founder would never have affected her. She has been detained since October 12, 1999 when she was charged with organizing practitioners to appeal.

She has had few opportunities to contact the outside world. Family members have to strongly insist to be allowed to visit her, and were allowed to talk with her only with the presence of the monitoring police. Bombarded with deceiving propagandas in an isolated environment over a long period of time and forcefully brainwashed constantly, it is difficult to retain one's ability to judge issues with rationality. This is a vivid example of the psychological control and persecution by Jaing's regime against Falun Dafa.

Liang was born with a very nice nature and had been sensitive of other people's feelings at all times. Now she is no longer her self and has turned into a different person. She resorted to all sorts of means to help the police to "transform" practitioners with whom she used to practice. Even on the surface she has lost her past modesty and kindness. Her actions have become very extreme. In order to gain points for herself, she repeatedly reports to the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] about her mother, trying to have her sent to brainwashing class for her strong belief in Falun Dafa, knowing perfectly well that "Hebei Law Enforcement Center" (brainwashing center) tortures and destroys practitioners with unimaginable cruelty. Her mother-in-law escaped, but later she turned in her sister and her brother-in-law.

Can the things said by a person who has lost her freedom and been psychologically tortured for long periods of times truly represent herself? This is another example of how Jiang's gang destroys human nature and persecutes mankind.
