Cases of Karmic Retribution For Past Misdeeds

Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionateáreminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Case 1

In late August 2003, Wang Deping, a policeman in the Nanlou Police Station, Dashiqiao City, died after his car crashed into a big truck. Wang had actively participated in beating up Dafa practitioners before his death.

Case 2

Changchun City retired school teacher Wang Guiying and her husband both always hated Dafa. They would not hesitate to tear any Dafa flyers while swearing whenever they saw them. Last year, Wang Guiying fell down the stairs and was injured so badly that she could not walk for a month. She did not learn her lesson, however, and continued to attack Dafa. In August 2003 she was diagnosed with severe kidney disease and has been hospitalized since then.

Case 3

Corrupt officials who persecuted Dafa practitioners were punished for embezzlement.

Since July 20, 1999, Gao Zhanyuan, village party secretary, and Liu Guotian, village head for Lingxia Village in Nanpiao District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province often forced Dafa practitioners to hand over Dafa books. They also frequently harassed Dafa practitioners. Before the 2001 Chinese New Year, township police went to arrest a pregnant practitioner at midnight. To avoid the illegal arrest, this 6-months pregnant practitioner accidentally dropped 12 feet to the bottom off a dam and suffered a spinal injury. This tragedy did not prevent Gao Zhanyuan and Liu Guotian from harassing the woman in her home. They also continued to spy on other practitioners and reported to the police. Recently, authorities raided Gao Zhanyuan's house and confiscated his personal wealth he had gained from embezzling. Liu Guotian was also fired from his job.
