(Clearwisdom.net) Taking the opportunity of the annual United Nations Anti-Torture Day on June 26, Seattle Dafa practitioners held two-day activities in Westlake Park in downtown Seattle on June 29-30. In the press conference, the practitioners introduced Falun Gong and the persecution in China to the local people. A Western practitioner recounted her experience of being detained for 5 days for peacefully appealing in Beijing last February. Many passersby stopped to listen. The practitioner called on the local people to support United Nations Anti-Torture Day and offer their support to Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in China.

The practitioners held a photo exhibition "Journey of Falun Dafa" and also displayed pictures of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The photos exhibited this time were focused on various tortures that practitioners suffered in China, including the tiger bench (see illustration on http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/11/24/16156.html) and digging in bamboo sticks (hammering sharp bamboo sticks into the fingers of the practitioner through the tips of the fingernails).
