Between late December of 2001 and January 13, 2002, police guards at the Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp in Zhenzhou City intensified their persecution of faithful and unyielding Falun Dafa disciples, and it continues to this day. Dafa disciples who refused to give up their cultivation practice were dragged out one by one. They were tied up, handcuffed and shocked with electric batons. Among them, the eldest was a 58-year-old, while the youngest was only 17. Ding Xiangying, a 57-year-old, was tied up by the director of the labor camp for 5 days and 4 nights. He lost consciousness twice due to the brutal torture. Yan Hong's hands were so terribly swollen that they couldn't move. Cui Qiuju had suffered every means of torture during the time when she was on hunger strike in order to resist the evil. She was sent to the hospital where, and after examination, they discovered that she was suffering from kidney necrosis. All her internal organs had injuries to certain degrees. The hospital dispatched a notice of critical illness to the labor camp. Several days later, the labor camp informed her family members to take her back home. Yan Liping, Zhu Xianzhi and Yuan Xiangfan can no longer take care of themselves after having endured such persecution.

The local court in Xiangfan City of Hubei Province will illegally try four Dafa disciples on March 10, 2002. The four Dafa disciples are: Ren Chenglu (male), Li Xianhua (female), Xing Guangjun (male) and Li Ying (female). Both Ren Chenglu and Li Xianhua are employees from Xiangfan Heli Corporation.

Cao Wencai, a 72-year-old Dafa Disciple from Shenyang, is a veteran who had participated in the Liberation War. He said one phrase, "Falun Dafa is good!" and was arrested by a multitude of policemen. After the brutality of the brainwashing class in Cangzhou City was exposed on-line some time ago, the vicious thugs received phone calls from practitioners abroad every day persuading them to stop the brutal persecution. However, they became more desperate. After the Lunar Chinese New Year, they started an intensive search for Dafa disciples. Since Dafa disciples' family members didn't cooperate with them, they could hardly capture anyone. They continued to harass Dafa disciples' families over and over again. As a result, an old man over the age of 70 had a relapse of an old illness. Some Dafa disciples' family members had to leave their homes and couldn't hold any family reunions to celebrate the Lunar Chinese New Year.
Presently, it is known that Gao Zengyun (having been detained for several months) and Wang Jijun were sent to a brainwashing class. The whereabouts of other practitioners is unknown. Wang Jijun, a bank employee, was abducted at his work place on February 25 and was brutally tortured because he didn't cooperate with the evil. They beat him so fiercely that his face was swollen, his mouth was bleeding, and his clothes were torn. The vicious thugs bought two electric batons in order to torture him further. They also added an iron door to the room in which he was kept.
Wang Jijun has been on a hunger strike ever since he was abducted and placed in a brainwashing class. He was then so brutally force-fed that his internal organs began to bleed. His mouth continues to bleed, and his life is in grave danger. We appeal to all kind-hearted people who read this news to help bring justice and an end to this persecution.

[Zhibo City & Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Dafa Disciple Meng Lijun Is Repeatedly Abducted By Police
Before the Winter Solstice of 2001, police from the police substation in Guangzhuang Village, Zhangqiu City, together with police from Zhibo City, went to Meng Lijun's home in West Fanliu Village. They climbed over the wall that surrounds her property, broke into her house and captured her. They denied her sleep and food for three days at end during her detention in Zhibo Public Security Bureau. Achieving no results, they had to send her back on the evening of the third day. However, they went to capture her for a second time on January 29, 2002. At the time, Meng Lijun was not at home. The police then went to her parents' home to look for her. They pretended to extend their "regards" to her through her parents. Around 9 o'clock on the 30th, they went to her home again and arrested her without informing her family members. When her family members saw the great mess afterwards, they came to the conclusion that the police had abducted her. When they went to the police substation inquiring about her situation, the police brought out an illegal "court verdict," groundlessly accusing her of a crime. Even the right to appeal was denied. At first her family members were allowed to visit her after a month. Now, her family members are told that they are not allowed to see her if she doesn't give up her cultivation practice of Falun Dafa.

[Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Qingdong Police Station Beats Up Handicapped Practitioner
Practitioner Sun Chengrong was sent to a forced labor camp in 2000. In the camp, he was tortured so brutally that his lower body was paralyzed. After his release, and despite his difficulty in moving around, he went to the streets to clarify the truth to save the deceived people. On February 26, 2002, while he was posting self-adhesive truth-clarifying flyers, vicious policeman Sun Bing from the Sa District Police Department spotted him. Even when dealing with a disabled practitioner, Sun Bing still had a bunch of thugs beat him up. Then he brought Sun Chengrong to the Qingdong Police Station. Later, the police station sent Sun Chengrong to the Daqing City Detention Center. Because Sun Chengrong's health condition is very serious, the detention center at first refused to accept him. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp Extorts Money from Practitioners
The head of the "Directly-Administrated Team," Zhao Lijuan who, in league with police guard Huang Jin of the First Brigade, exploited her job to seize the food brought to detained practitioners by their families. The practitioners wrote a letter to Director Bai of the labor camp to report these cases. Director Bai didn't stop this illegal behavior, and instead he tried to patronize the vicious police guards by calling the practitioners' families into the camp and threatening them into helping to cover up the truth. If a director can even commit such lawless acts, the police guards will certainly do even worse things.
The guards often use the excuse of searching for Teacher's articles to steal practitioners' possessions, from as little as a handkerchief, a pair of socks and a book, to money. Once, while searching the cells, Guo Li, the head of a department found a few hundred Yuan in money coupons. [Money coupons are the currency used in this labor camp. They can be cashed in the accounting department for currency, according to its face value in the accounting department.] Guo put the money coupons into her own pocket. Their searches also target clothes and food brought in by family during visits.
Once, a leader of Number 1 Brigade, Zhang Zhijie, in league with a practitioner's family members, deceived her into writing a "guarantee statement" [to stop practicing Falun Gong]. After the practitioner realized the error, she wrote a solemn statement to void the "guarantee statement" and asked Zhang to return it. Zhang didn't return the "guarantee statement" and refused her solemn statement. To trick the everyday people, Zhang wrote to the newspaper about how he had successfully brainwashed the practitioners and attempted to buy political leverage for a higher position. He told the practitioner's family to give him an embroidered flag. The family member gave him the money, and he ordered for himself a large embroidered flag and hung it in the office of the Number 1 Brigade of the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp.
The labor camp also decreases the expenditure on the detainees' meals. They don't provide food according to any nutritional standard. They only provide two soups per day, one of which is porridge. The porridge is sometimes made of rotten corn flour, and at times the steamed buns are not fully cooked or have sand in them. When the camp is under inspection, the meals will be a little better than normal, and the guards will post a menu with a lot of selections of staple and non-staple foods. However, after the inspection team leaves, everything returns to the usual poor conditions.
[Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Police Beat Up Practitioners while Arresting Them
In the afternoon of February 25, 2002, practitioners Liu Hanxue and Yang Wenhua were taken away by force from Chang'an Village in Bin County. Both the Chang'an Police Station and the Bin County Police Department's Political Security Section have policemen in action. While the practitioners were being forcefully taken away, practitioner Liu Hanxue didn't cooperate with the evil policemen and refused to enter the car. Three of the four policemen from the Political Security Section began to beat him up. They beat him to the point where his face and arms were swollen. The three vicious policemen also received immediate retribution. One of them injured his ankle while kicking the practitioner and another's arm was injured while punching him. When the third one swung at the practitioner, he missed and his fist hit the car and bled profusely. He wiped the blood on the practitioner's clothes and blamed the practitioner, claiming that he attacked him. Many people witnessed this criminal act.
That day, the two practitioners were detained in Bin County's Number 2 Detention House. Liu Hanxue didn't cooperate with the evil and practiced the Falun Gong exercises every day. On the third night of his illegal detention, the evil forces punished him by locking him to an iron chair. On the fourth night, Liu Hanxue was transferred to the Number 1 Detention House of Bin County, where all the death penalty criminals are detained. Liu has been on a hunger strike for five days. [Liaoyuan City, Liaoning Province] Sadistic Policemen from Shiyi Town Abduct and Arbitrarily Sentence Practitioners to Forced Labor
Before New Year's Day, 2002, the policemen asked practitioner Han Jianzhi, who was working at the time, if he still practiced Falun Gong. Han replied, "Yes." Thus Han was detained in the Liaoyuan City police department. Han insisted on continuing his practice, so he was then transferred to a detention center. There, he was detained until Chinese New Year (February 14). Again, because he insisted on his right to practice, he was sentenced to three years of forced labor.
Qu Hongmei and her husband were walking on the road to Shiyi Town. Some vicious policemen stopped them and asked if they practiced Falun Gong. When Mrs. Qu replied that she did, the policemen began to push her into the police vehicle. Her husband, Song Zhide, saw that the policemen were arresting her and shouted loudly for people to help. Many people came to watch this horrible act. As the policemen were angered at people's denouncing them, they then shifted their anger towards Mr. Song and beat him up. Finally, they put Mrs. Qu into the detention center and confined her for 45 days. Later, before the Chinese New Year, the police illegally sentenced Mrs. Qu to three years of forced labor.
After the Chinese New Year, because the practitioners distributed truth-clarifying flyers in to save people from the lies, the police got angry again and they claimed that they would kill any practitioners they caught doing so.

[Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioner Wang Mingli and His Family Are Cruelly Persecuted
Dafa practitioner, Wang Mingli, was detained in Changchun Weizigou Labor Camp for seven months. Members of his family protested many times and called Mayor Li to contest the persecution, and firmly demanded that the labor camp release Wang Mingli before Spring Festival. On February 6, 2002, Wang Mingli was released unconditionally. However, Qinghe Police Station and the Neighborhood Committee reasoned that Wang did not write an "oath" promising that he would not practice. They forced Wang to attend the new brainwashing class organized in Tiebei, Jilin Province. On February 28, Chaoyang Police Station detained Wang again. He had been on a hunger strike for five days. In Weizigou Labor Camp, Wang suffered in many ways from the torture and passed out three times from the cruel beating. His family didn't understand why the labor camp refused the family's request to visit him. Wang is in an emaciated state and unable to stand up from being tortured. Many Dafa practitioners in the brainwashing class went on the hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.
At present, Wang and his family are having financial difficulties. Their only source of income is 400 Yuan from Wang's elderly father and money offered by relatives. His daughter, Wang Yao, also a Dafa practitioner, faces the risk of being expelled from school. She is an excellent student but cannot afford to submit the multiple application fees for the high school entrance exam. Wang Yao consulted the family many times about putting her studies on hold. Wang's wife, Yin Yanli, also a Dafa practitioner, visited the Cultural Square on October 27, 2001 to give out balloons and clarify the truth. She was arrested and is now detained in Heizuizi Labor Camp. She has been disfigured from the torture. Both her sisters couldn't help crying when they visited her. Even under such difficult conditions when fellow practitioners gave money to Wang's mother, also a Dafa practitioner, she firmly refused and said, "I feel very sorry I cannot contribute money for printing Dafa materials to save people, this money should be kept for Dafa work." Their steadfast moral standard in the cultivation of Dafa inspired their fellow practitioners and touched the everyday people who heard about them. We strongly appeal to the Changchun people in all walks of life and overseas Chinese to pay attention the risk Wang Mingli's family faces, urge Chaoyang Police Station to release Wang immediately, condemn the illegal persecution of Dafa practitioners, uphold justice and return the basic fundamental rights to the family.

On December 13, 2001, the police station dispatched three police vehicles to a Dafa practitioner's home at 10 p.m. in Hougan Village, Taibaozhuang Town, Changyi City, Weifang, Shandong. Li Shifang's money and personal belongings totaling about twenty thousand Yuan was stolen, including:
