Facts of the Persecution
A Dafa practitioner in his 70s from Hebei Province was illegally detained for more than three months, only because he went to Beijing to appeal in mid-September of 1999. The police also extorted more than 7,000 Yuan from him. [The average monthly income in rural areas is about 200 Yuan.] Within less than a month after his release, this practitioner was again arrested and detained for more than one month. On August 26, 2002, the police sent him to a prison, where they beat him with a wooden board until he could no longer move. The area from his buttocks to the middle of his leg became black and blue, and it took over 40 days for him to recover.
News From China
After July 20, 1999, our practice site, which was peaceful and harmonious, was forcibly broken up. We eliminated various forms of interference and re-organized a new practice site. We persisted in group-study of the Fa and doing the exercises every week, exchanged experiences to find omissions, and improved as a whole. We also sent forth righteous thoughts as a group to eliminate evil factors in other dimensions behind the persecution. After our persistent efforts, many township government officials began to support and protect us.
At 5:00 p.m. on September 15, 2002, the image of a dragon appeared in the sky over Longmen, Fuping City, Hebei Province for almost an hour. Two people who were on their way to buying wood saw fire and light bursting in the sky, followed by the image of a dragon with a golden, transparent body. The head, horns and whiskers of the dragon were clearly visible and many circles of light surrounded the dragon. As the dragon ascended, villagers within the vicinity of dozens of miles in the surrounding area also witnessed this rare phenomenon.
Practitioners Exchange Insights
An immunologist talks about qigong and health. The largest multicultural broadcast station in Australia, SBS, interviewed Ms. Feng Lili, a Falun Dafa practitioner and a professor in molecular immunology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, United States.
Professor Feng said that at the level of genes, humans are not much different from animals, but the material side does not represent human beings. The true human side completely lies in the human spirit. Humans have a natural ability for self-regulating, self-balancing illnesses and internal elements. Qigong is in fact mobilizing this ability to allow the body to recover. It is better than replenishing it from the outside.
Professor Feng also talked about the "trash-can theory," stating that there is trash in the cells of each individual person. The abnormal proteins produced by the human body must be delivered to the trash-can to be eliminated. The best way to eliminate this trash is through qigong practice to reduce the production of trash, but this does not take place like the way modern medical treatment operates, which reduces trash by administering medicine. Ms. Feng did some experiments on this subject. The results showed that the people who practice qigong, especially those who pay attention to the cultivation of both mind and body, have demonstrated that the amount of trash from their bodies is particularly small. There is a close correlation between people's physical health and their spiritual state.
