A Doctor Reprimands the Police: Why Do You Treat People Like This?

November 13, 2002 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Falun Gong practitioner. Persisting in my belief and refusing to give up my cultivation of Falun Dafa, I was illegally detained in a forced-labor camp. I was tortured and physically abused, leaving injuries and scars all over my body. I felt dizzy, nauseous, and felt a severe pain in my lower back. I finally lost consciousness.

When I woke up, I found out that I was in a hospital. The vicious police were afraid I would die so they sent me to the city hospital. When the doctor on duty found out that I was detained for being a Falun Gong practitioner, she gave me a careful examination and criticized the behavior of the police.

She said to the police: "Falun Gong practitioners are all good people. Why do you treat them like this? You torture good people to such a condition. How do you treat thieves? My wallet is often stolen, why do you not go to arrest the thieves?"

One policeman said arrogantly: "You have money and that's why your wallet is stolen. They (thieves) are released once their term is due."

Since I was tortured until I lost consciousness and threw up, the doctor said I needed to have a brain examination. The police did not want to pay when they heard that it would cost over 100 Yuan.

The doctor said angrily: "We doctors need to be responsible to our patients. Are you police responsible for the country? Although I do not practice Falun Gong, a short time ago I went to Hong Kong and I met Falun Gong practitioners on the beach. They practice peacefully and harmoniously. They kindly told me the truth about Falun Gong. At that time I did not totally believe it. Now that I see you treat them like this, it proves what they said is true. What's wrong with practicing Falun Gong? Do not treat them in an extreme way. We are all Chinese, what is the good of this? How do foreigners see us?"

The more the doctor talked, the more emotional she became. Many people gathered around. The police were afraid of the people's anger. They said at once: "Give us the bill, and do the examination for her right away." They then hurried away with the bill.

The doctor now knows the truth. I am very happy for her. Now more and more people can see the truth of the persecution.
