1. [Hubei Province] The Public in Suizhou City, Hubei Province, Won't Attend Movies that Slander Falun Gong

Authorities in Suizhou City, Hubei Province scheduled slanderous movies defaming Falun Dafa at the Zengdu Movie Theater from September 23 to September 29. Tickets offering free admission were given to the public two days in advance to entice people to attend.

On the morning of September 21, Falun Dafa practitioners posted truth-clarifying statements over the posters for the film. The evil people were shocked and terrified. At 6:30 p. m. on September 22, all Falun Dafa practitioners in Suizhou City collectively sent forth righteous thoughts. Only sixteen people, including the staff members of the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] and the Police Department, came to the theater.

On the evening of September 22, two Falun Dafa practitioners with the last names of Bao, and Deng, were arrested when plainclothes policemen found that they possessed Falun Dafa materials. They are being held in the No.1 Detention Center in Suizhou City. On the morning of September 24, two officers from the Sicheng Police Station conducted an illegal search of Falun Dafa practitioner Wang Ying's home. They arrested Wang Ying after finding two floppy disks. He is being held in the No. 2 Detention Center in Suizhou City. Wang Ying has gone on a hunger strike. He has been held in illegal custody numerous times in the past, and each time has walked out of the prison using strong righteous thoughts.

Recent information revealed that informants told the police that practitioner Ke Yugang was seen distributing Falun Dafa truth clarifying materials. The police then arrested Ke illegally when he was returning home.

2. [Chongqing City] Falun Dafa Practitioners Broadcast the Recent Articles of Master Li Hongzhi, to the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp and the Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp

On September 1, Falun Dafa practitioners successfully broadcast the recent articles of Master Li Hongzhi to the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp and the Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp. These facilities persecute Falun Dafa practitioners more severely than most others. The broadcast delivered Master Li Hongzhi's recent articles, articles from Clearwisdom.net about sending forth righteous thoughts, and articles that clarified the facts about Falun Gong. This has been a great support for Falun Dafa practitioners who are illegally held in the forced labor camps, as they have been able, under the most difficult circumstances, to hear the Fa taught by Master Li.

3. [Chongqing City] Master's Degree Graduate Wang Qi Almost Loses his Eyesight and Suffers from Crushed Bone Fractures in his Left Elbow and Shoulder

Wang Qi, male, over 30 years old, holds a master's degree from Sichuan University. He was formerly employed at the Chongqing Branch of the People Bank of China. He was illegally arrested by members of the "610 Office" in Chongqing City and transferred to the Yongchuan Prison in Chongqing City to do forced labor. Wang Qi received inhumane treatment and abuse in prison, which resulted in nearly complete loss of vision in both eyes. According to Prison Law and relevant regulations, he is qualified for parole for medical treatments. However when his elderly mother, who is over 70 years old, exerted much effort to meet the cadres of the Yongchuan Prison to ask for the parole for medical treatment to which he was entitled, her request was turned down.

In August 2002, vicious prisoners violently beat Wang Qi resulting in a crushed bone fractures in both his left elbow and his left shoulder. He can no longer take care of himself. His mother made yet another request for parole for medical treatment. The answer was still no.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Female Falun Dafa Practitioner Xu Jinhuan Is Illegally Sentenced to a Ten Year Prison Term

Falun Dafa practitioner Xu Jinhuan, female, 58 years old, is from the Dalian Economic Development Zone in Liaoning Province. The police arrested her this year when they heard that she was telling residents in nearby communities the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. Police officers from the Haiqing Police Station in the Dalian Economic Development Zone tortured her in order to coerce a confession from her. Xu Jinhuan refused to give in, and was illegally sentenced to a 10-year prison term.

She is being held at the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City, which is known to follow the examples of the Masanjia and Zhangshi Forced Labor Camps in the barbarity of their persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.

5. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Gao Shuying Is Detained Once Again

Falun Dafa practitioner Gao Shuying, over 30 years old, has been illegally detained or sent to brainwashing class more than ten times simply because she insists on the cultivation practice of Falun Dafa. On the afternoon of September 19, she was once again abducted from her home. Police from the substation in Juyang Town, along with the local government officer Shi Lijun, and Niu X from the local "610 Office" participated in the arrest [the "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. Gao Shuying's parents-in-law are over 80 years old. Her mother-in-law is paralytic. Her two children are still in high school. They all need her to look after them. In addition, her husband Xin Baodong has been persecuted many times for steadfastly practicing Falun Dafa. He was detained in a forced labor camp for a year. He was detained again in the Sanhe Detention Center in March of this year, where he was severely beaten, which resulted in eight ribs being broken.

It has been heard that the police are attempting to kidnap several other Falun Dafa practitioners and send them to brainwashing classes or forced labor camps.

6. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Qi Jingpu Is Illegally Detained And Tortured

Qi Jingpu, female, 54 years old, lives at #5, Gongqu Lane, Guangfu Road, Jiamusi City.

In July 1999, Qi Jingpu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was illegally detained in the Changping Detention Center for over a month. During the detention, because she refused to recite the "jail regulations", the police instructed criminal prisoners to beat her with plastic shoe soles and punish her by forcing her to either "ride an airplane" or stand for a long time [riding an airplane: the head is bent down until it cannot go down any further, while the hands are pulled up and held up to the highest point. The hips have to point up. One is forced to keep this position unchanged for a long time. The body in this position looks like the shape of an airplane, which is how this torture is named]. Later on, Qi Jingpu was transferred to the Huachuan Detention Center where she was detained for over four months. During her detention there, for food she was provided with only one steamed bun a day. When her family members and relatives tried to have her released on bail, the police extorted over 10,000 Yuan from them [equal to almost two years average income for an ordinary worker in China]. Qi Jingpu's brother was laid off of his job for more than six months because of his sister's refusal to renounce Falun Dafa. Her family has suffered severely, both financially and mentally.

In October 2000, Qi Jingpu went to Beijing again. During her trip she encountered unlawful transportation security officers who put Mr. Li Hongzhi's photo on the floor and forced passengers to step on it. She was detained again for refusing to meet the thugs' irrational requirement. In detention, she was shackled with chains weighing over 48 jin [a Chinese weight unit, a jin equals 500g or approximately one pound], which were specially made for death row prisoners. The chains had been put aside for many years, and had layers of rust. Six people were shackled together and it was extremely difficult for them to use the bathroom facilities.

Qi began a 10-day hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. In December 2000, she was transferred to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp. She was so weak by then that she fainted when she arrived at the camp. However, even though she was extremely weak, Qi was still subjected to brainwashing. The people most involved in persecuting Qi Jingpu include Yu Wenbin, Liu Yadong, Zhang Xiaodan, Zhu Tiehong and Chen Chunmei. These people have tried in vain to make her give up cultivation practice by means of spreading deceit, false rumors, and threats. Qi has not been allowed to meet or even phone her family members for over a year. She is not allowed to step out of her cell except for going to the washroom. She is not allowed to greet others, let alone to talk with others. Her weight has fallen from 60 kilograms to 45 kilograms. The police are making use of jailed robbers, swindlers and prostitutes to monitor and abuse Falun Dafa practitioners. Qi Jingpu wrote a letter to the police, urging them to forsake evil for good and not to aid and abet the evil. Consequently, she was detained under even stricter surveillance. It is reported that she is still being detained in the "strict monitoring group" of Team 3 in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp.

7. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] The No. 3 Forced Labor Camp Persecutes Falun Dafa Practitioners

I was illegally detained for six months after going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in October of 2000. In April 2001, I was transferred to the No. 3 Forced Labor Camp in Xuchang City of Henan Province, where Falun Dafa practitioners from fourteen areas of the country are being illegally detained. There, the police torture Dafa practitioners in a variety of cruel ways:

1. Spiritually: In order to have Falun Dafa practitioners give up their belief, the police try to forcibly brainwash them. Practitioners who refuse to give up their belief are not allowed to meet their family members during visiting time. Instead, the police tell their families that Falun Gong practitioners don't have emotions and don't need their family members.
2. Physically: The police take turns monitoring practitioners who are firm in their belief, not allowing them to sleep, and tying them up with ropes for half an hour at a time, five or six times in a row. This torture is called "having one rope on". In each successive round of this torture, the ropes are tighter than the previous time. Usually, ordinary people cannot bear the pain after one or two rounds of such torture. However, steadfast practitioners are tortured in this way for five or six times in a row. The nerves in practitioners' wrists become numb and they cannot take care of themselves for many days after this torture.

The unlawful police have hired the Xuchang Educational Television Station to take video pictures in the detention center. Using actors and actresses, they fabricate positive programs about the detention center in order to deceive people around the world.

8. [Chongqing City] To Deceive the Public, a Movie Defiling Falun Dafa Is To Be Shown

On September 17, 2002, it was published in the magazine Chongqing Youth that the Chongqing City Committee [of the Party], the City Government and all the executive departments are going to demand that people from every work unit watch a movie defiling Falun Dafa. Watching the movie is mandatory, part of an attempt to stir up public hatred towards Falun Gong. The film is to be shown in cinemas throughout each area and county of Chongqing City.

9. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] The Criminal Record of Police in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp

Yu Wenbin, female, 31 years old, is the Vice Team Director and Political Director of the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp. She has been brutally brainwashing and force-feeding Falun Dafa practitioners. She often orders collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] to assist her in persecuting steadfast Falun Dafa practitioners. In January 2002, she instructed Bian Haiyan, Yuan Weiqing, and others to forced-feed practitioner An Baozhen with drugs. In April 2002, practitioner Liu Yan finished her term. However, Liu Yan was not released and her term was extended for no reason.

Hong Wei, female, 37 years old, is the head of the "strict monitoring team" in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp. She persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners, conducts body searches and searches cells frequently, and prevents practitioners from doing the exercises and studying the Fa. She often tears up Teacher's articles and practitioners' Dafa materials. Hong Wei brutally force-feeds those practitioners who protest by going on hunger strike. She does not allow practitioners to go to bathroom, forcing some practitioners to relieve themselves using the basin for washing one's face. She arbitrarily takes away Falun Dafa practitioners' blankets during the night. She prevents practitioners from communicating with each other. Hong Wei reduces terms for those criminals who persecute Falun Dafa practitioners while extending terms for steadfast practitioners. She makes up rumors in order to spread lies and create confusion. When practitioners went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal extension of their prison terms, she spread the rumor that the protest was "collective suicide". Currently, she has blocked the window above the door of each cell with black plastic so that practitioners do not have any sunlight.
